Where to stay in Santiago
Santiago hotels & accommodations

Stayed at Lastarria 43-61 twice during my trip to Chile: stayed at both building 43 and 61. Both locations are very convenient, and within walking distance to Plaza de Armas. It is also very close the Metro (2-3min walk), so you can explore Santiago easily. There are a lot restaurants, and its very busy on the weekend with street vendors. Surprisingly, even with all t...

I had an unexpected stop over in Santiago because of the strike in Argentina. I booked the hotel at the Airport quickly and was very happy with my choice. The staff spoke perfect English, the room is very nice and styled well with nice antique furniture and a writing desk. It's located in a quiet area and just around the corner are some pretty little streets with qua...

The hotel was much better than expected. In general 5* hotels in Santiago at this price are 3* at best - this was a good four star. The room with seperate lounge, cooking facilities (not used) and big bathroom presented value for money. Excellent service and attention. The breakfast on the 17 th floor was great.

This hotel is an excellent choice for stop-over hotel; It is not until you stay at other Chile and Peru hotels that you realise the Diego De Almagro offers great accommodation with much more space and features than higher star hotels offer. Staff at reception, restaurant & bar are all very nice and helpful. Everything seems possible and nothing is too much trouble...

The hotel was ideal for me as I arrived and departed by bus in Santiago. The hotel is only 15m away from the entrance of the bus station, The comfort was that what you expect from an Ibis. So no doubt about how the hotel would be. I had a pleasant stay and I used also the restaurant of the hotel which was quite good.

Andres and his team run a welcoming and comfortable boutique hotel in the Providencia. Located near the Manuel Montt metro station or easy walking distance from the historical centre of Santiago , the bohemian restaurant precinct of Bellavista or San Cristobal hill to get the best views of the city with the back drop of the Andes. The room was quiet, well fitted with...

Booking through Agoda got us a discount on the hotel rack rate - great, this is a 5* hotel in Providencia about a 5 min walk from Avenida Providencia - the main route into central Santiago. Hotel very smart with a doorman and everything. Room very reasonable size - huge bed and plenty of space. Really nice shower. Breakfast included was great, brilliant fruit selection...

older hotel, decent seize rooms, will all the comfort of a 3 and a half star hotel, breakfast is buffet, but strictly continental with hot scambled eggs and toast. The hotel is located on Benardo O Higgins Blvd the main road and can be a bit noisy, centrally located to Down Town and the key business and pedestrian district

Facility was immaculate and clean, location was in a business district with lots of cafes and restaurants around. Morning jog around the area was nice too. Metro station was a block away, very convenient. Staff was very responsive and friendly whenever I needed help. Room and bathroom was well designed. Water pressure and hot water supply was steady and good. Breakf...

It was great to have a hotel near by the airport. I was traveling for more than 12 hours from Bolivia by bus and flew into Santiago around midnight. I was grateful to be able to walk and check into a comfortable hotel within a few minutes upon arrival.

this place would be perfect except that it is in an 'iffy' part of town. the staff, and signs there, warn guests, but a hosteler was robbed , right in front of the place while i was there. so one needs to really watch out once out and about in the neighborhood. I am sorry to have to say this, but there are other women/older people like me who might consider a differen...

The worst place I’ve ever stayed at part time being the faulty towers the only good thing I can say about the place was the staff are okay we had to change rooms because the toilet didn’t work the TV didn’t work there was bear electrical wires exposed breakfast you couldn’t eat and a cup of coffee with an instant one with no milk

Great place to chill at the end of the trip. After sifting through numerous hostels in Santiago, Landay was a clear winner for me, as it ticked all the boxes - at least on paper. I've seen much worse properties charging a lot more. The reality wasn't much different. Great value for money.
Cheap places to stay in Santiago

good location, friendly staff, pricing is right. Yvan the manager goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Staff helped me with my flight booking and other queries. Great warm atmosphere. During my short stay we had a salsa night when a relative of the manager came along to show guests the way to dance. It was informal but fun. Privacy is respected but if you want t...

Merced 88 is a good solid choice for a hostel, albeit one that is a little too large to have much personality. There is a large locker and outlet for each person in the dorm, which was sufficiently spacious. Located 3-5 minutes away from the Baquedano metro station, getting around Santiago was convenient, although the nearest cheap grocery store was a 15 minute walk. T...

This was our first stop in South America & this hostel was the best introduction. Upon checking in greeted by Angel - who was just amazing, to the location - perfect walking distance to the nightlife area but also easy to get to the museums and sights in the day. Breakfast was delicious - eggs available, cereals , breads & so much fruit. Perfect to start the day. W...

I love this place, and I made it my central base for all travels in Chile. The rooms are the best value you can get for what you pay, fluffy white towels like in a 5 star hotel, tv and free wifi in room, comfy matresses. The overall atmosphere of this styleful hostal is like in a family. They make you feel at home. Staff is most helpful and friendly. Last not least a c...

We arrived from Valparaiso on a bus. We had an Email from the agency, about a kilometer away, to arrange key pick up and payment. The apartment we rented was on the 19th floor of a tower block. It was OK. The Metro station was just 60 metres away. The apartment was clean and well equipped apart from the two ring hob. There had obviously been an electrical problem som...

Hotel Santa Lucia is conveniently located just a few blocks from the Santa Lucia Metro stop, and just a blocks from the Plaza de Armas and other sights. It is an older hotel in need of updating, but it is perfect for budget travelers. The staff helped so much with a variety of needs. Breakfast included juice, coffee, tea, several kinds of bread, butter, jam, and scr...

great hotel in good location of downtown santiago. working distance to all sights and short taxi to nightlife. the rooms are large and well equipped. its a tall tower so if you get a high level for your room you can see the mountains clearly and cityscapes.

We booked Lastarria Santiago Suite and didn´t know what to expect. It had positive reviews on some websites but the reviews were mostly in Spanish or Portuguese. When we arrived at the middle of the night, after a long trip from Colchagua Valley to Vina del Mar and Valparaiso, we were greeted by Viviana who tried her best to be helpful in every way despite language b...

Relatively cheap for Santiago, however, I wish the staff can be more helpful in terms of suggesting places to go. I asked for a restaurant suggestion, and he sent me to a local mall with limited food selection. However, at mid-night, the gentleman for the grave year shift did help me to secure a hired car to drive us to Varaipaiso. Thanks for his help. I am glad th...

As Vitacura is a long way west of the airport the Taxi fares were the bigest single incidental expense of my stay \. The hotel itself was as expected of a 3-4 star hotel.Hotel Reception responded well to my queries but I had to specifically ask for information was I enjoyed an adequate buffet breakfast each morning. The pool was somewhat small but I managed to swim a...

I stayed overnight during travel brazil and as a first-timer to santiago the hotel was easy to locate for the taxi drivers and perfectly positioned in the CBD for an afternoon of exploring the city, eating and resting. great hotel in good location of downtown santiago. working distance to all sights and short taxi to nightlife. the rooms are large and well equipped. its a tall tower so if you get a high level for your room you can see the mountains clearly and cityscapes.

It was my second stay at this hotel and I recommend it for being located within Las Condes are, where you can find several good restaurants. Also within walking distance to catch undergroud metro and the biggest shopping mall in Santiago (Costanera Center). On top, it's very affordable, considering that you do not pay VAT if paying with international credit card or USD...

Hotel Cambiaso is located at a very convenient spot in the district of Providencia, right next to the metro station 11 de Septiembre. The district is lively, full of restaurants and quite safe to walk around even at night. The staff is very friendly, and speak English fluently and the rooms are clean. Excellent for business travelers looking for a cheap stay. Good a...

Everything was organised for our check-in even though we arrived late. The chap on the desk had our keys ready for us. The apartments are next door to a large supermarket which is very useful. Our apartment had a hob and oven but no cooking pots to use in the oven. The office staff who look after our apartment were all very friendly with good English and eager to help....

well appointed and nicely decorated . beds fantastic ( maybe because we really tired after a long flight ) .. now for the negative , the apartment is very difficult to find , it must of taken us 15 min to hunt it down ... the management needs training , they rude arrogant rrrrrr , it was a let down ... breakfast included my arse it was a plate delivered the night befor...

Everything was perfect. This was the best room we have seen in Chile. The staff were exceptional especially Pablo and Mabeline, the complementary welcome drink and comp breakfast a short walk away was the icing on the cake. Hot and cold items were offered with lots of breakfast choices. We will stay here again if we return to Santiago.

Chile is expensive for tourists. I can't believe what I had to pay for this accommodation but it's the price you have to pay for being a tourist here. The staff was very helpful giving directions to the tourist areas. Chile is also known for it's high robbery and theft rate. Be careful here. The staff did offer some assistance after I was robbed at Santa Lucia. T...

Our stay was great. The apartment was well- organized, with a bedroom plus a sleep sofa. The kitchen was great, so we could store and reheat restaurant leftovers. The balcony provided a great view and a cool breeze. There was good security also. The owner was very easy to deal with, and he allowed our son, who lives in Santiago, to pick up the key and check the apartme...

The apartment was excellent and in a great location. Our host, Cristian, had left fresh fruit, wine, milk and bottled water for us. There was also coffee and a selection of tea bags as well as a few other basics. The apartment was tastefully furnished and lived up to our expectations from the photographs. Cristian provided us with maps and information about Santiago. H...

It wasn't until we actually stayed at the Luciano K that we appreciated how well situated it was for the activities we enjoyed in Santiago. It was conveniently located near one of the the Turistik Hop on-Hop off bus offices/stations, which worked for us because we had limited time. It is also near a wonderful artsy bohemian-like neighborhood with artisanal crafts, mu...

Standard of staff was uneven, check-in staff was lovely but cleaning staff would sometimes leave rubbish from other rooms in my room after cleaning e.g. tissue box lid on the floor, opened and half finished tube of shampoo beside my sink ( I did not use the shampoo provided by the hotel as my hair reacts badly if I don’t use my usual brand so I know that tube was not f...

This hotel is a comfortable and very cosy hotel at libertador avenue. you can go right or left outside the hotel and both ways directs you to sightseeing places of interest. Real reviews for hotels
This city is not tourist friendly as its hard to find any tourist souvenirs and hard for non-Spanish speakers to navigate around with most locals hardly speaking or understand English.
You Must do the Touristic Bus Tour around the city, you can get off and on the bus all day, or do a round trip in 3 hours
a well organized country with good road infrastructure within the city and yet can be caught in traffic jam.
