Santiago De Compostela hotels & accommodations

we spent 3 nights visiting santiago de compostela with our family there. the hotel is great because of its location just around the corner to the old town and nearby shopping possibilities in the new town. the rooms were clean and quite nice (but not too big). [general remark] we get used to that people in spain do not welcome people the same way as e.g. in asia, serv...

Very nice new hotel in a convenient enough location (next to El Corte Ingles department store and supermarket, and an easy 15-20 minute walk to the heart of the historic centre with the Catedral etc). Huge rooms - especially for European standards! Everything was comfortable, modern and well designed. I'm a light sleeper but had no noise issues in the room at all, and ...

Stone throw from cathedral ,room very small but compact with all essential toiletries provided . Friendly and helpful staff even though can’t communicate well in English . Very noisy till earlier morning 4.00 am with people talking , shouting and singing on the street .

The hotel is in a good location with friendly staff. Breakfast is continental with the staff offering fresh orange juice. The hotel is of a modern design BUT the walls are very thin. We could hear what the woman next door on the phone was saying and even the person on the other endwas saying. The bathroom has a shower with a clear glass side, so if your partner is in t...

Nice hotel and good location however there was no way of controlling the room temperature, it’s was too hot and the weather wasn’t great which meant opening the window was ideal (windy/raining) we did request the changed the temperature but the couldn’t do anything about it. We also ate in the bar, food wasn’t up to much for the price, if you like good quality eat in t...

I have recently returned from a 4 day stay at the Mafer B&B. Overall I really enjoyed the experience. Location to the centre of Santiago excellent, staff excellent, efficient and friendly. I had emailed a very specific request and received a return email acknowledging my request. Two issues to note though 1) the noise level at night from young revellers can be pretty b...

The location of the apartment is accessible from the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and it's less than 10 minutes walk. The room is cosy for 3 and we are very comfortable in it. It has very modern amenities and it works well. We could wash our clothes in the apartment. However, we are not Spanish so had a little trouble understanding the language on the washer. Th...

We've just returned from out stay at the AC Palacio del Carmen. and had a great time. The location of the hotel (convenient to train, airport and all the sites of Santiago) was terrific. The staff was always helpful from suggestions on where to eat to supplying extra towels when needed. The fitness facility provided a nice break in the day for going for a swim, doin...

...our clear pledge not to enter the room. She even came into the room and switched off the van, when we have left for a walk, but we wanted to have more fresh air by leaving window open and keeping the van switched on... The breakfast is worthless and she entered the room without waiting for approval, too. We forgot a sleeping bag for our child and a Spanish friend ca...

I stayed here with my parents in July. The check-in was really easy and we also took advantage of the €10 parking. Although our rooms were designed quite differently, the decor was consistently impressive. The hotel is on the ruta and there is a cafe/bar on the ground floor. Noise isn't a concern however thanks to the effective double glazing. Altogether this is a gre...

Overall a nice way to end the Camino. At 30 Euros including breakfast this was very good value for money. The room on the top floor and had views of the Cathedral Towers. Staff were very helpful and remembered me when returning the key each time I returned. Breakfast was basic but filling.

Fantastic location about 300 m from the cathedral and in the middle of the old city. Service was excellent and rooms good size. Value for money was excellent.it is about a 25 minute walk to the railway station. Definitely recommend to anyone.we are a middle aged couple

This hotel is located at the entrance of the city, making it handy to the airport and the congress centre. However, it is not in a good location for a tourist as it is 3-4 kms from the city centre. There is no shuttle service available and therefore you will have to pay for a taxi (€15-20 each time) or walk for 30 minutes to reach the centre. The Internet charge is not...

The ladies working reception were so friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, but there is so much noise from the street. Even with ear plugs, sleep was impossible on the loud Saturday night until the streets cleared around 4am. The hostel itself is a rest value. Definitely recommend!

For what we wanted, this place was excellent. A comfortable place to unwind after a day's walking. Friendly, welcoming, friendly staff. At the other end of town from the main bus station, but quite close to the railway. Internet and television (only Spanish / Gallician).

Room was fine - a single with bathroom) but had clearly seen better days. A bit smelly: a mustiness that lingered a bit and took some time to get used to. Only there for one night before moving into accommodation on the university campus so it was OK. Santiago is an expensive city! - so, not bad in the circumstances. Included breakfast not much to write home about....

I warmly recommend this hotel. The rooms are comfortable. Do ask for a second key if you are sharing your room as reception closes early, and you might end up on the street if your room companion has fallen asleep. The staff was really friendly and helpful. From my room I could see the cathedral nearby.

The hotel is small, but clean, comfortable, and renovated. Shower, good water pressure, plenty of hot water. Bed, comfortable. Heater in room. Noise level normal for hotels in most countries, bring ear-plugs. Restaurants around the corner, the daily menus are affordable and good value, great food! The staff were friendly and very helpful. (a washing machine is being i...

We thought the hotel a little dated, well our room was, one of the wardrobe doors had been smashed, there was insufficient dressing table space in the room and a damp spot on the ceiling in the corner. We also noticed there was smoking allowed in the bar, which we thought had been banned and to sit in the bar opposite was a bit dim and uninviting. The restaurant was ...

I stayed at Pr A Nosa Casa at the end of my Camino. It was a short walk from the Cathedral and near to shops and eateries. The train station is about 500m away. It is within the historic town of Santiago. The breakfast was OK. The room was very clean and bright although a little small. The bathroom was a squeeze.

Overall a nice way to end the Camino. At 30 Euros including breakfast this was very good value for money. The room on the top floor and had views of the Cathedral Towers. Staff were very helpful and remembered me when returning the key each time I returned. Breakfast was basic but filling.

This casa deserves to be a 10 it is beautifully designed and finished to a very high standard making it a very comfy stay - the best bed I have ever slept in. The host was so welcoming and helpful, we had safe parking for our motorbike. The casa is rural with views of the cathedral but is only a 10 minute stroll from the centre of Santiago de Compostella - best of both...

Good location and sort of charming but room reeked of stale cigarette smoke, shower was ueven in temperature and pressure ( in fact temp veered madly from hot to cold) and there was spotty wireless access when we arrived and our room never really got service for duration of stay. I think there are much better options available in Santiago for the money.

Real reviews for hotels
3-4 days is plenty of time to see this city. The vast majority of travelers come here via the Camino de Santiago, so the cathedral is clearly the high point of the trip.
It is avery small city but unique and special. The cathedtal is a very special place, reminds me of two things, the vatican and harry potter.
