History came alive seeing the area as I had read about it before. Loved it and the people and culture.
Will come back soon.
Awesome place. Nice beach, fantastic view. No words can describe. I love this place too much, is just a long journey to travel from Singapore to Santorini.
Kamari beach is a must go ! Renting an ATV to wander around the island is fun and affordable ( for those with valid driving licence ) !
Santorini is a unique place in the world. Trully is! The absolute white of the Kyklades islands, the elegant nature of the island's citizens, the modern and refurbished houses and hotels of the island, the unique wines and food of the island, the interesting night life (no exagerations, just nice time).
All these things stay in your memory, and yes the sunrise and sunset of Santorini is breathtaking. I do recommend an evening at SantoWines, on the Cliff of Pyrgos, with a nice bottle of Assyrtiko and tasty finger food. Amazing!
Fantastic, magical place. I have been there four times and I cannot get enough of it. Santorini is a trip you must do.
Lovely place, with lovely views, history and people. Rent a quad bike, for a lot of fun around the island, and I also recommend the restaurant "Señor Zorba", mexican, but their ribs are some of the best I have ever eaten in my life, and the other plates in the menu are also very, very good and big in size!!
very very beautiful island, very good seafood, bring ur license rental car very cheap n easy to drive only one way, two days is enough to visit the island
Santorini is a place once you go, you want to go again. White houses, blue roofs, stunning sea view, colorful sunset view.
..more and more. Though it has been kind of commercial, it is worthy to go. People are friendly, not that kind of fake friendly but real hospitality. Tip: why not join a one-day or half-day sailing tour? You can discover more about this island and also have a chance to hike along the volcano, swim in the Aegean Sea and visit the distant little towns.
A beautiful island with their unique architecture and breahtaking scenery. This place suit all the traveller needs.
U can be busy doing all the sighseeing, dining and partying but at the same time u can just chill & relax in your hotel to enjoy the serenity and nice scenery. Higly recommended!!
Don't miss dining at Naoussa! They serve authentic and super delicious Greek food and have excellent service!
This is such a beautiful place. I recommend strolling, seeing the volcano, and swimming in the hot springs.
Enjoy the food as well and sunset. Gorgeous as pictures.
It is a relaxing island with gorgeous beaches. You will need a mode of transport to travel around the island.
Santorini is one the most beautiful Islands in Greece. The view of the Caldera and of the white houses is unlike no other in the world.
There are also a few activities you can do there, with a lot of restaurants everywhere you go, one of the main things not to be missed is to watch the sunset. You can do so from Oia, Imerovigli or Fira- whichever you choose, they are guaranteed to be breathtaking. Also do not miss on taking a boat to one of the nearby islands. The hot springs near the Nea Kameni is a natural phenomenon. Akrotiri ruins and the red beach are on the other end of the island and its easy to hire a ATV to Quad Bike to this location. There are also buses that run through out the island, which will only cost less than 2 Euro's one way. Staying in Firostefani was my preference as it was close to Fira but with out the inflated prices or the noise. Staying in Oia places you further away from the airport and it also gets very crowded because it has one of the best views on the island. if you want a beach to lie down in to relax, go to either Perissa, Perivolos or Kamari beach.
There are beautiful beaches (Kamari, Perissa), wonderful sightseens such sun set and sun rise from Fira and Oia.
There are good restaurants with delicious typical greek food. The facility for transportation for touristic and historical points. It is pleasant and comfortable stay for relax.
Santorini is an amazing and gorgeous island that is worth visiting at least once in a lifetime. Visit it in the months when it is in operation (around March to October) as it is closed in the winter months.
Everything is expensive here but you will not regret staying in a resort facing the calderra. Some people recommend renting a car to explore the island but we found the roads rather curvy and steep. We discovered it was rather easy to explore the island on their public buses instead. Visit the beautiful red beach and Amoudi Bay for some swimming and lobster pasta in one of the taverns. Dine at a local restaurant such as the Anogi to experience authentic Greek cuisine - reservations recommended.
Santorini island is my dream land since i was young. My dream is come true at my age of 32 years old.
May be is too late for other's. If got chance must try a pre wedding photo at Santorini, sure you have a great memories in your life.
Santorini is a romantic island, suitable for a couple whose plan to taking a pre wedding picture. All scene is very nice even without touch up.
.haha. Must try the cave room very special.
Wake up early for a morning walk. Take a nap in the afternoon as the streets are crowded and the weather is hot.
Then, find a good spot or nice restaurant to enjoy the breathtaking sunsets until late night.
Santorini is one of the famous Island in Greece. The people here are friendly. I like the sunshine and environment.
Things are done slowly. You can see people really enjoy their life. A good place for those who lives in city.
Santorini has a perfect balance between relaxation and a vibrant nightlife combined with shopping opportunities.
Definitely worth renting a car and driving around the island.
I love this city! Such a beautiful city. If you visit Santorini, you should take a hotel with Caldera view.
It will worth everyyy peny you spent! Amazing!
Santorini is very charming. Love the cliff and ocean view. The food is pleasant and the people are very friendly.
Love the sunset from Oia, it was very romantic and beautiful.
Fira was a very touristy place, however, I was there the end of October, the end of the season so there were not the crowds that must be there in summer.
Everything seemed more relaxed, with the exception of the poor donkeys traversing the steps with their load of tourists! I was fortunate to be there during a national holiday and there was a local parade of the local school kids in traditional costumes and performing Greek dances. what an unexpected treat! Terrific views from the time you arrived and left by ferry.
Santorini is gobsmackingly beautiful but totally oriented to tourists with prices to match. But definitiely a must see.
The must go activity should be the sunset cruise. Its a relaxing 5 hour cruising. One guy found a Tiffany diamond ring while diving at the white beach.
Its crazy. Unbelievable. There are two types of boats. The white which seats up to 20pax and the red boat whixh ssats up to 40. The smaller one means lesser people to vie for the good apot for sunset photo taking. Its stops at the red beach abd white beach. Dont expect really hot water in the hot spring or really a mud bath as the tour claims. But the view is really breathtaking, almost like sailing into the sun. Most of the businesses are family owned and in general the people are more friendly and happier unlike my encounters in Athens.
Santorini island is great. Make sure you stay in the middle of the island like Fira so it will be easier to go to places.
Rent a quad would be the best option. Public buses are OK but there are way too many people trying to get on.
Santorini is beautiful with both cultural history, amazing views and great restaurants. I stayed in Akrotiri, which was great, but after exploring the island I would recommend Oia or Kamari, perhaps even Perissa.
Fira is beautiful, but somewhat overpriced and crowded, not in my view the nicest place. Rent transportation, check out the lovely beaches on the flat side, and visit both Akrotiri archeological area, the archeological museum in Fira and the Elias monastery close to Pyrgos. The folklore museum in Fira is also well worth a visit. And don't forget the olives and the local wine - exquisite.
Quite possibly the most beautiful of all the greek islands based on my limited exposure to them. It has everything from amazing sights and attractions to sublime seafood and dining.
Fira is also not lacking in terms of nightlife with plenty of nice bar/clubs all over the town.
We chose to get to Santorini by high speed ferry instead of airplane for both ways. We were very happy with that and would recommend this way from Athen to Santorini if you have certain plans about trip expense and timing as well.
Santorini is a great place to take rest and go to beach. There are many nice beaches. Very beautiful, relax and fun place.
