Semboku hotels & accommodations

My boyfriend and I have been traveling through Tohoku and Hotel Folkloro has been our favorite so far. The food was all fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff were so nice and put our luggage in our room when we left it with them before check in. The hotel is right outside of the train station, so it’s super convenient, too. If you like the food from the restaurant, y...

A very homely feel place, 1st-time self-drive at japan for us. So we always book a hotel via Agoda last minute late at night. Upon arrival, a very quiet cold atmosphere turned into jazz music evening lounge at the ground level of the cafe which was very soothing for us as a late-night traveler. The host invited and cook some home cook meals and share with us together w...

This spot was a great spot to stay in - the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the breakfast had a variety of options which was nice. Could probably have added more fruit/ fresh veggies to the buffet. The onsen within the hotel is quite big and there’s an indoor and outdoor section. A nice option to unwind with before bed at night. Would recommend hiring a car i...

This is a guesthouse around 15 minutes walk from the station towards the river. My host was welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The only points to note are that you have to pay to rent towels and there are no bathing facilities in the same building (however there is a shower in another building). This was fine as I was offered a free ticket to th...

We stayed for 3 nights and from the complimentary shuttle service between the station and the hotel, to the welcome and the facilities, this is a lovely place to stay for an authentic Japanese experience. The staff had very little English, but their service and effort was 100%. The restaurant serves delicious food and a good selection of craft beers. The Onsen itself i...

Very nice onsen hotel to stay in, and could be quite easily reached by direct 1-hr bus from JR Takawako station, and could be used as a base to visit Havhimantai mountain. Hotel is particularly catered to old folks who come for the acidic onsen for healing. Staffs were all very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The only downside is that dinner was in buffet sty...

Greenhills is right next to Lake Tazawako -- we could see the late from our room. Unfortunately there's no good way to get there on public transit, and a taxi ride from the station costs about 3000JPY. The staff were a little pushy about getting us to eat at their cafe, but they were willing to help meet our price point and dietary needs. I'm a vegetarian who doesn'...

The staffs welcome and greeted us upon our arrival at around 7.30pm. Checkin went smoothly and they even prepared for us dinner before we head off to our room. Dinner was fantastic with spread of japanese dishes. As we have restrictions to our diet due to religion, staff were so nice to ask what we can/cannot eat so that rhey can prepare for our next day meals. As the...

Super convenient location to Kakunodate station and rental car facilities. Check in was quick and the staff were very friendly. Ample self parking available. Buffet breakfast included was very good. No onsite onsen. Onsite laundry consisted on 1 washer and 1 dryer on the entire property, but there's a coin laundry facility about 5 mins away.

4-star hotels in Semboku

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms were a great size for Japan and the open-air onsen was perfect for a cold fall night. We didn't realize there was shuttle pick-up, but we easily took a local bus and then walked 10 minutes to the resort. Once at the resort, we were a bit late for the normal shuttle run to the lake, but the hotel was extremely nice...
