"Apartment was unavailable and we immediately had to take a taxi to another apartment. Clean according to Chinese standards( floor rugs and floors, shower with hair). Bed was fresh and kitchen looked clean. Aircon only in the room, which was very cold at night in winter, no extra blanket available. Bathroom temperature was a little bit warmer than outside at night and in the morning, which is not the standard you expect for such a rate! Used leather and plastic slip shoes are at your disposal. Chinese Pay TV was available, poor internet. Location is good, neighbors are very kind and helpful. The person in charge of the property is only available per Wechat and I had to pay high international roaming fees to contact her. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by this property.. for this rate of approx. 90€ It is unacceptable. "

"We arrived really late but the hostel had 24h service so that was no problem, the staff gave us really nice information and great tips about where to go in Shanghai and what to look out for. The hostel also had a lot of different transportation information (both inside Shanghai and far out of Shanghai). The hostel had wi-fi in the rooms and really nice food and beverage menu to eat all the daily meals from. So if you are planning to stay in Shanghai and want to live at a really nice place for good money value that's located really central you should totally go to the Shanghai Blue Mountain Bund Youth Hostel!"

"A true business hotel. I stayed here because it was close to the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. I got a good nights sleep and was very happy with the room. I was in the hotel less then 24 hours and did not have a chance to use the restaurants or amenities. They do have a nice little coffee shop in the lobby which is convenient but expensive. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a good hotel close to Hongqiao Airport."

"I see other reviews that the staffs where rude and not helpful, it was otherwise. There was definitely a language barrier, but they tried to bridge that as much as they can- with a phone app. Advise: download this iTranslate on your phone to make your life a lot easier. Now breakfast was not the best, but to what standard are you measuring- from the country where you from or from China. There’s a lot that I didn’t like on that, but there’s no stopping you to go around the corner to eat, there’s a lot of small shops- price of food outside is very cheap, but remember get the app- none of the people outside speaks other there own language. The bed was hard, it’s made of a hard spring laid with a board and covered with an inch or inch and a half of foam. For me, I liked it- good for my back, but for you who like a soft mattress, maybe you won't. Extra perks, our check out was at 12 noon, our flight was at night. They let us leave our baggage as we go out to the city-Oriental Pearl TV Twr."

"I have been to Shanghai many times with my wife and two teenage children. It was the first time that we stayed in Crown Plaza Hotel and we will definitely come back. It is a very nice hotel of western standards, with very big and clean rooms. The main reason we booked that hotel is because it would accommodate all four of us in one room so we didn't have to book two rooms, as it is usually the case. The restaurant was very good, just a bit expensive. The only disadvantage I would say was the location, as it was quite far from the city centre, and approximately 15 minutes walking to the nearest subway station. However you can easily get a taxi, and it is relatively cheap. We plan to visit Shanghai soon and we will definitely book at this hotel again. I highly recommend it for its high quality service and a value for money, especially for a family."

"This was my last stop in my 2 week in China. First time to Shanghai. The location was fantastic and easily reached from the Pudong Airport by subway (1hr). The bund is 15 min walk away. There is a giant mall for food and cheap clothing right by the subway station. The service was the best of 5 hotels I stayed in China. The staff were polite with excellent communication. I arrived early and the manager let me check in early even though it was a busy holiday weekend. The room is impeccable and very nicely decorated. From my window, I could see the Pudong skyline and the postal museum. Overall an excellent experience. "

"I have stayed in other hotels in Shanghai previously but this hotel I would say is the best so far in terms of location, cleanliness, helpful staff, good food served at the restaurant and also strong WiFi signal in room. This hotel so near to the Bund just 8-10 minutes walk and many shopping outlets also within walking distance with the famous Nanjing Street just a stone throw away. I will definitely stay at this hotel from now onwards. For anyone still searching for a hotel in Shanghai, I recommend this hotel without reservation. "

"There are a MILLION hotels in Shanghai and I chose this one randomly. It's great for the price - close to the Bund and a short 10-12 minute walk to Nanjing Rd (where there is shopping on steroids and a subway that goes straight to either airport for 7 yuan), yet also nestled in the thriving backstreets of Shanghai right opposite a park. Staff were friendly and helpful, bed was comfy and although the motorway is nearby I hardly heard it (and I'm a super light sleeper). Would definitely consider it again."

"I stay in the Grand Mercure very often and it is my choice for hotel in Shanghai, mainly because of the location, next to the train station and on top of a metro. The down side is that it is a little farther away from some of the livelier areas that you may want to visit, but the taxis all know the train station so there is little confusion. Check in was smooth as always, but i noticed a girl who was being trained at the same time, which wasn't a bother, but she was left pretty much alone to check me out a few days later and messed up the bill, not her fault she should have been more closely supervised. The room size is very good, though the classic is a little small and some rooms don't have windows, so i don't think they should be selling those at all if the consider themselves a 5 star hotel, but we were given an upgrade, so mustn't grumble. The room comfort is excellent and it has everything you could wish for, housekeeping have obviously worked hard. I haven't tried the spa or gym so cant comment but breakfasts are very nice. The only downside i would have is getting a taxi, depending on who is working it seems service can differ. With 3 doormen standing outside at one stage none of them wanted to help us to get a taxi, again with 5 star rating comes 5 star expectations. though on previous attempts i have seen one doorman go the extra mile to ensure we got a taxi in the cold and wet. So i suppose it depends on who is working. Finally, they seemed to have increased their prices on Agoda, there was a sudden jump in price of about 20 per cent on average a few months ago, but nothing has changed in the hotel. This has left me looking at other hotels a bit more closely when booking now. Even though it looks like a negative review, it is only a couple of staff issues that i feel need bringing up."
