"I see other reviews that the staffs where rude and not helpful, it was otherwise. There was definitely a language barrier, but they tried to bridge that as much as they can- with a phone app. Advise: download this iTranslate on your phone to make your life a lot easier. Now breakfast was not the best, but to what standard are you measuring- from the country where you from or from China. There’s a lot that I didn’t like on that, but there’s no stopping you to go around the corner to eat, there’s a lot of small shops- price of food outside is very cheap, but remember get the app- none of the people outside speaks other there own language. The bed was hard, it’s made of a hard spring laid with a board and covered with an inch or inch and a half of foam. For me, I liked it- good for my back, but for you who like a soft mattress, maybe you won't. Extra perks, our check out was at 12 noon, our flight was at night. They let us leave our baggage as we go out to the city-Oriental Pearl TV Twr."

"renaissance has become one of my favorite hotel in shanghai as the price is reasonable, comfort bed, modern room design, and it is just walking distance to subway station. i enjoy the facility and appreciate the friendly service provided. one of the negative point is the room service, they will tell you to wait max 45 min for the food to be served which is too long. "First time stay in Putuo District in Shanghai and I decided to book a service apartment convenient for a family of 3 (parents & toddler). Experience: * 07/14 (Saturday) morning arrival: - Mgmt provided the first available cleaned & ready room (master bedroom w/ bathroom inside 2FL). - Informed that there was 2 different room configurations (1 is master bedroom,; 1 is bathroom on 1FL). - I telephoned the front desk to request for the other room configuration when available after daily guest checkout. The front desk agreed and advised my family to rest up inside the current room. - Late afternoon: Management called and informed that the new room was avail & will send a bell-hop to help move our luggage into the new room. - After indicating a concern with a bell-hop pressuring us for a tip, mgmt met with us to apologize and indicated this was not a company protocol. Tip was returned and provided a meal vouchers. * I decided to book 2 more evenings here. * TRUST - Modena (LINDA)"

"Apart from the location of the hotel, which is quite far from any amenities, the rest were great! The staff were superb, they were responsive, intuitive, and just simply perfect. The food was great too, especially the desserts. On top of that, everything in the hotel is new and well-maintained, including the very nice gym and pool. The hotel exudes luxury in all aspects. I give a thumbs up to the hotel. The sales manager, Clara, also helped us organize the meeting and ceremony perfectly. I can’t find anything to fault this hotel on, except for the location, which in my opinion cannot be helped. You choose where you stay. I gave a 5 stars for location because I just didn’t want the rating of the hotel to drop by one bit. Cheers."

"Intercontinental Shanghai Jing’an has the best concierge team. They certainly went beyond their core duties to make our stay a comfortable and memorable one. During our stay, we encountered typhoon Lekima, Lorenzo shielded us from the rain while we were waiting for our transport just outside the main lobby. What a gentleman! Jerry is an epitome of “service with a smile”. Always smiley and friendly. He helped us many times with transport arrangements and navigation. Reggie, another wonderful staff, who queued 2 hours to buy the speed train tickets just for us. We are extremely happy and grateful for this team of staff. They have made such a big difference to our stay. Besides the top notch service, the hotel has a good breakfast spread. Very clean and beautifully decorated rooms and public area too. You might think our holiday was ruined by the typhoon, however, the people have made it such a memorable and comfortable one. 👍 "

"A very pleasant stay. Agoda could have given better instructions to find the hotel. It isn't immediately obvious when entering the airport. It certainly isn't 30 metres from some entrance. But it seems easy once you find it. The airport staff are not particularly helpful in helping you find it. Most don't even know! But the hotel is a kind of oasis in the airport. It really is pleasant. No complaints here. If you must commute to another location in China from Shanghai and need to be at this airport, this is the best choice. "
