“It was great location as we had 15 hours between flights.”
“Best place to stopover before flight.”
“1 of the best mattresses provided by hotels!”
“They have nice lounge area cozy seating in the reception.”
“Suitable for those looking for hotel nearby Pudong airport”
“Shanghai is a city where you'll find it very difficult to catch a cab at peak hours. Staying at this hotel doesn't make it any easier, but the hotel location is right across the street from Sheraton Hotel, Parkson, Friendship Mall, etc., and even from Gubei area, it's less than 30 minutes' walk. The staff understood and spoke English pretty well, were very willing to help and very helpful. I really liked this hotel, and will stay there again if I have next opportunity to visit Shanghai.”
“We choose to stay at Les Suites Orient Bund Shanghai due to the location right in the Bund and we do not regret , the location is perfect, facing one of the major attractions in Shanghai , the Skyline!! it is just superb, Hotel's staff is very friendly, not as good as another hotels where we've been in China, but good enough still, The hotel and the city was overcrowded due to Chinese New Year celebration , people popped up everywhere, people were queuing everywhere , even in the lobby and hotel facilities, breakfast room was overcrowded in the morning and the staff weren't able to keep the control in the buffet and most of the time they run out the stock of some items and nobody has time to replace it , but the variety and quality was excellent and again the staff tried to do their best, The rooms are nicely decorated , cozy and very practical , everything seems to be in the right location , well equipped and clean, Definitely I will recommend this hotel in Shanghai but CNY”
“This is definitely one of the best hotels that I have stayed in. Spent a few weeks going through the reviews of Shanghai hotels in Agoda before settling for a suite in SSAW Hotel Shanghai, and it was well worth the effort. Hotel suite was big, cosy, comfortable with great views, especially from the inviting bathtub. In short, this is a hotel with exceptional value for the guests in mind. What really made this a great hotel is its people. We were faced with a malfunctioning lift system on our day of departure. Our Level 11 room attendant immediately contacted the technician for assistance. As the technician was not able to rectify the problem immediately, the room attendant suggested an alternative service lift for our use. That's when we met with Niels and Linda. They were on their way to every level to 'rescue' their guests. Even though the whole episode probably took up 15 to 30 minutes of our time, it was really our privilege to witness the behind-the-scene work of these wonderful hotel staff. So do you think I will still stay in this hotel again? Definitely and it will be my only choice unless the hotel runs out of rooms! Our sincere thanks to all hotel staff for your excellent services and do continue to maintain it. Plus take good care of yourselves and your guests during this period when the H7N9 disease is lurking in Shanghai.”
“It was a tough decision for my friend and I to choose hotel in Shanghai knowing the standard and rate in China can be quite different from other countries. We glad that we chose Grand Central despite some reviews said it has slow wifi. We had no problem with it and in fact even VPN works well for me. We love the fact that it is near Nanjing east station and it is very convenient (Family Mart is just behind the hotel, shopping district is just less than 5 minutes). It only cost us about RMB170 from Pudong airport to the hotel but it costs more from hotel to airport (RMB220).The only thing is we book the promo rate which is without breakfast, so can comment much on the food. Overall it was a pleasant stay. We will definitely go back if we are going to Shanghai again.”
“First time stay in Putuo District in Shanghai and I decided to book a service apartment convenient for a family of 3 (parents & toddler). Experience: * 07/14 (Saturday) morning arrival: - Mgmt provided the first available cleaned & ready room (master bedroom w/ bathroom inside 2FL). - Informed that there was 2 different room configurations (1 is master bedroom,; 1 is bathroom on 1FL). - I telephoned the front desk to request for the other room configuration when available after daily guest checkout. The front desk agreed and advised my family to rest up inside the current room. - Late afternoon: Management called and informed that the new room was avail & will send a bell-hop to help move our luggage into the new room. - After indicating a concern with a bell-hop pressuring us for a tip, mgmt met with us to apologize and indicated this was not a company protocol. Tip was returned and provided a meal vouchers. * I decided to book 2 more evenings here. * TRUST - Modena (LINDA)”
“i am a traveler, and whether for pleasure or for business, i always make sure that before i select the hotel @ agoda i check on the reviews if ever they meet my requirements. in most asian countries that i have been, i have experienced staying in some citadines chain of hotels and i would say they always satisfy my taste each time. i stayed in three different hotels in shanghai and i am giving a "thumbs up" rate to this citadines shanghai jinqiao hotel. the location may be a bit too far from the bustling city area but i didn't find it hard to get a taxi and to go to places where i need to be, because all attractions and shopping districts are reachable in just few minutes. the metro station may not be of walking distance but would only cost you 14rmb. the breakfast had a small number of choices in the buffet table but they change courses each day. there is this restaurant, about a little walk and just 2 corners away from the hotel(sorry i forgot the name but it won't be too difficult to find) which serves the best shanghainese food ever! i was glad we were able to discover that restau for they have so many authentic food choices and everything seemed so delectable and yummy at very affordable prices. you should really try it!! there is nothing that i dislike in the hotel for all the things i need in one accommodation is complete and all in one nice and cozy room - the clean bathroom, mini kitchen with big ref, a working table and a reception separate from the bedroom, soft bed (most hotels in china have orthopedic hard beds)and good-smelling bed linens. if you need something you can have it in just one call at the concierge or housekeeping section. the service is so efficient that i won't hesitate to stay there in citadines over and over again. i simply love all the comfort that comes with your stay in it! thanks citadines..”
“what a spectacular hotel! its history is enough to sell the hotel, but add to this its excellent location (junction of the bund waterfront and nanjing dong lu retail strip), beautiful art-deco/colonial interior design, and very friendly staff, you will be a fantastic hotel. even though my room (definitely the cheapest one in the hotel) faces a courtyard, the room is incredibly spacious with its own walk-in wardrobe, passage way, alcove with study desk, large 3-seater sofa, and a white/black marble bathroom (with 2 sinks, a shower stall and claw-foot bath tub, with its personal tv). yet in this lofty hotel, the staff are incredibly personal and friendly! from evida (the smiley receptionist) to mimi (the friendly pool attendant) to eddy (the efficient and professional head waiter at cathay room) to the many room attendants, everybody showed passion and dedication! there are more glitzy hotels in shanghai (e.g. peninsula and waldorf astoria are more bright, shiny and gleamingly beautiful), but the peace is a historical institution that must be experienced. the only minor 'down' sides are: (a) no tea bags in the room (although there is a nespresso-like coffee machine); (b) rather plain swimming pool (very efficient 18 metre pool, but relatively unadorned environment); (c) limited photography permitted in the lobby. nevertheless, the negatives pale to the incredible positives of this charmed hotel!”
“The hotel's hospitality is outstanding. They remember the past requests I made and setup everything as I requested (in the past). I have never had such experience with other famous five-star hotels worldwide. The room is gorgeous, nice and clean. China hotels usually have a lot of water related issues, but I never had any issues at all. High floor view is amazing always at night while chill-down with friends. You could sleep completely with relaxing room and comfortable bed. Breakfast has a lot of choices from both western and Chinese. The one thing bad about is a lack of transportaion (ie. Taxi) at evening. But, you will face as same situation as other hotels in Shanghai. Subway station for Line 2 is approx 10 min away.”
“I have stayed at this place many times when I visited Shanghai. nevertheless it is one of my favourite place. Location wise it is in the heart of Shanghai. Though it can be difficult to find but with GPS it is not an issue. The room is huge compared to other hotel room. The bed is very comfortable. The internet is fast. One of my favourite hotel in Shanghai.”
“I booked executive room and it was good choice. Breakfast was good I had better in another hotel in Shanghai. Coffee perfect ! I prefer eat breakfast in executive lounge at 27 floor than lobby because of lot of smell from kitchen. Executive lounge bar open since 6:30 am till midnight and they serve there breakfast, lunch , dinner and all drink including good alcohol. Room clean and big and bathroom huge. Staff really really good”
“I have stayed in other hotels in Shanghai previously but this hotel I would say is the best so far in terms of location, cleanliness, helpful staff, good food served at the restaurant and also strong WiFi signal in room. This hotel so near to the Bund just 8-10 minutes walk and many shopping outlets also within walking distance with the famous Nanjing Street just a stone throw away. I will definitely stay at this hotel from now onwards. For anyone still searching for a hotel in Shanghai, I recommend this hotel without reservation.”
“There are many luxury hotels in Shanghai and Grand Hyatt Shanghai may not be the one newest, but oh how wonderful their customer service was! I arrived deadly tired at midnight and the receptionist immediately took care of me, offering a complimentary breakfast and room with preferred bed size so that I could rest and enjoy the rest of stay with them. I was able to enjoy their morning exercise class and taste their beautifully crafted chocolate. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all business travellers who need a nice couple of nights to relax.”
“We’d stayed in IFC Residence from July 25 to August 21. We have to say it is definitely the best apartment hotel in Shanghai, with respect to the location, the staff and the elegant facilities provided. Starting from check-in, you were welcomed by friendly and efficient reception staff. During our stay, whether it was for calling a taxi or for some sightseeing tips, the reception or concierge team was always ready to give help! To name a few, thank you Helen, Michelle, Alice and Kiki... thank you Jami and Frank... in general, the whole team is worthy to be complimented! What makes it outstanding is the fact, besides the elegant hotel as it is; you are always greeted & served with friendly smiling staff! A Big Bravo to Yvonne, the newly landed manager from Hotel Ritz Calton Shanghai, who has obviously brought with her the elegant customer service concept to her team in IFC Residence. The other best point is location, which is unique in Lujiazhui. Simply by opening the hotel door, an excellent mall is in front of you, where you could find various choices of the restaurant, or the access to the subway, etc... With respect to the breakfast, the choice is basic. However, the restaurant manager Leo is always there listening to your need; Service girl Coco would bring a cup of coffee with two sugar bags to me whenever seeing me come to breakfast. A wonderful personal touch! We had a wonderful time in Shanghai, due to all the convenience provided by IFC Residence and its team! We will certainly recommend it to friends and those who would like to explore Shanghai starting from Pudong!”
“For the price im paying (~¥2500 a night) room is a bit too small, and no iphone charger available But overall satisfactory. Shangri-La remains as one of the best hotel in Shanghai in terms of location and comfort level”
“Probably one of the best hotel I stayed in Shanghai the most hip and happening among all three Hyatt in the city. Spent my new year eve count down at the Vue bar, very memorable and unforgettable experience, it offer stunning view of Shanghai both Pu dong and Pu xi view, thought the location of the hotel is at Pu xi side. I would recommend all guest to have a drink at the Vue bar to chill out. Being situated at Pu xi, Huang Pu Road the hotel is minutes walk from the Bund and nan jing road where most of the great, shopping, restaurant and bar located at. Very convenient location. As for the facility, Hyatt on the Bund provide better facility than other 5 star hotel in city. warm pool and great gym. I stayed at the club room on the east tower at 27 floor that offer magnificent view, the room is spacious and amenity is nice. I truly enjoy my stay at Hyatt on Bund and will stay here again come May Shanghai Expo.”
“This is my new favourite hotel in Shanghai. I have stayed in 5 hotels in Shanghai in the past two years and this one was the best. We had the studio unit and it has a full kitchen with washing machine/dryer as well. Big room, nice bed, good tv stations and all very well looked after. The hotel restaurant is Element Fresh with a lovely outside seating area on the 6th floor with views of the city and a small playground. The ground floor has a Starbucks as well.”
“This 12-to-20th floor hotel is located in a major posh shopping district of Shanghai and there is a metro station just across the street. The amenities are limited for a five-star rated hotel, but the facilities offered are tasteful and top-notch. Our room had a spectacular view overlooking the magnificent Jing-An Temple and beyond. Shopping and food in the area is more than plentiful. The building also hosts a famous spa just below the hotel. The breakfast offering was smaller than expected but still sufficient for both local and western taste buds. The emphasis is on quality rather than quantity. The only minor complaint was the lack of a bathtub. By the way, service is always pleasant and splendid for Chinese-speakers/ nationalists. It seems that most complaints about bad service in China on Agoda are from non-Chinese speakers. Well, conversely... I almost never see any other country catering to non-English/local languages. Well, you know what they say… “When in Rome… ””
“I have been a big fan for all Banyan Tree resorts in Thailand and Indonesia. Wanted to try their new hotels in cities. They have kept the high standard of services and tasteful deco, and added a modern touch in the Shanghai hotel. Staffs are helpful and provided good services. Still recommending Banyan Tree as one of my favorite hotel chains.”
“Okura Hotel stands out because of its staff . There are many five star hotels in Shanghai but their staff may not provide service which are comparable to the best . Our experience of staying in Okura makes us appreciate dedicated, sensitive and caring staff . When things go wrong the management is immediate at problem solving . We did not have to wait or get frustrated with our problems . Hotel facilities in all five star hotels in Shanghai are really good . However , if you want a hotel which looks after you throughout your stay and assist you with unexpected problems Okura fits the bill . We have stayed in Shanghai on and off for five years and tested quite a number of hotels .”
“I love everything about this hotel. Great staff, lovely room, great location. Situated on the shopping Mall where the shops are. 10 minute taxi to the Fabric Market and 10 minute taxi to French Concession or a short train ride. Train line 2 minute walk from the hotel. The Bund is a 10 minute walk straight down the Mall. I would always stay at this hotel in Shanghai.”
“Swissotel is to my taste one of the better hotels in Shanghai. Perfect location in Shanghai downtown, helpful staff, speaking pretty good english. Rooms are big, clean and fresh. Check in and check out fast and efficient. Best hotel I tried in Shanghai for sure”
“This is a large, Chinese, modern, 4 or 5 star hotel, not brand new but a clean hotel. It is almost on the riverfront. You get a choice of river view or other and pay accordingly. There are a handful of restaurants along the river front, and of course the ubiquitos Starbucks. Some are bars, some cafes, some restaurants. Just take yourself along for a wander and explore. It is a great view of Shanghai, seeing the Bund from Pudong s the best way to see it, especially if you settle down for a bite or a drink. All the options looked dcent, tho perhaps it can be a bit quiet. The hotel is across the road road from the Super Brand shopping mall. Getting a taxi is not too bad, but if there is either a queue, or you just don't see any taxis, then walk over to the mall where there is usually a few of them waiting on the corner. If you dont fancy the standard, expensive buffet breakfast, take yourself over to the mall to Starbucks, or Lavazza or one of the local options. There is also a metro station just a few minutes walk away.”
“This is an excellent hotel for exploring Shanghai. It is strategically located along the Nanjing Road East Pedestrian Street, the renowned shopping street of Shanghai with abundant dining and shopping options. It is a 10 minutes walk from the Bund. More importantly, it is located close to major metro stations like People’s Square and Nanjing Road East, which are well connected to key metro lines that can take you to key attractions, as well as the Shanghai Railway Station where you can take a train to explore a nearby city like Hangzhou or Suzhou. The hotel is clean and pristine, occupying the 8th to 11th floor of a building, away from the bustle of the street below. Staff are attentive and polite. However, non-Mandarin speakers may have difficulty communicating with them as many do not speak much English.”
“The hotel located at great location. Surrounded with shopping mall, luxury goods outlet, pub and bar for night life and not far from Nanjing Rd, The Bund, Oriental Pearl Tower. Just walking distance to subway station that can take us to anywhere in Shanghai. Hotel staff are very professional and friendly. Hotel amenity is very good. Very good choice for traveller both business and leisure.”
“Architecture and history buffs will love Bund Circle and spend hours researching its four spledid Art Deco buildings. The hotel interior is renovated 'Art Deco' - need I say more? - but the room we had was spacious and very well-appointed. The staff were very helpful indeed. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from East Nanjing Road metro station, that has connections to Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport and Railway Station. We can't comment on the hotel's dining room as we prefer to eat out. Down the road are local dumpling and noodle restaurants, and in the next block is Shanghai Grandmother - a bright and cheerful restaurant that sells authentic local food to tourists - not many Europeans, most tourists in China are Chinese. For many people, Jiangsu cuisine is China's finest, with its subtle, harmonious flavours and gentle (in Shanghai, not so gentle) sweetness. And next door is 'House of Blues and Jazz', a fantastic late night out - bands play from around 9.30. 50RMB cover charge”
“stayed two nights in this hotel had business trip. my supplier recomended this hotel coz its news built. i didnt expect it to be that nice but it was near to perfect. the bathroom, dressing room and also huge bed working table was in just perfect place. i loved the room. and also i loved their cheese cake and coffee. great place want to go back there again in my future visit to our supplier in shanghai.”
“Still sort of a new hotel regarding to its opening time so all the facilities are in well-condition, with a comprehensive gym room and swimming pool which are fit with those want to keep exercise during your stay. Staff are friendly, great choice for you to stay in Shanghai.”
“Just stayed only one night here, yet one of my most favorite place in Shanghai. In the middle of nostalgic neighborhood, thus recommendable if you are keen to discover small local restaurants nearby. Bonus point: lovely staff!”
“Pros The location is great, very near to the train station(nanjing east road station) and Nanjing road shopping district. It's also easy to find! You can walk to the bund or renming guangchang. No worry for the food because everything famous like xiao yang shengjian, haidilao, nanxiang can be reached within walking distance. The room is also very clean and there's no weird smell. House keepers will help to change our towel everyday. The receptionist is also friendly, she let us have 2 access card by paying 200rmb deposits. You can also choose to put ur luggage there if you check out early and have a late flight. Cons The lighting of our room is quite dark. Which may be inconvenient for some people. I'm not sure how to use the water dispenser, seems like only hot water is available. Overall, it's a good stay. Will choose to stay here again when we go Shanghai next time.”
“I love every detail of this hotel, even the smallest one. Was stay here more than 4 weeks. Stay on the 6 person female room and my parents at the King Bed room ont he 2nd floor. The facilities you can get is very worth with the price you pay. The location was very good, 5 minutes walk to the MRT Line 9 (小南门 xiǎo nán mén station Exit 2 or Exit 3), walk straight from the MRT station and you can get some small restaurant there). There is one 24hour minimarket beside the hotel. This hotel is very clean, they mop the floor twice a day, the room and the lobby is very clean too. And what i love the most from this hotel is the staff! All the staff of this hotel is very helpful and kind with all of the guests. Promise them i will stay at this hotel if i come back to Shanghai and will recomend this hotel with my friend who want to travel to Shanghai. The facilities are very good to. The bed and room is so comfort, and they have a cozy lobby. There is 2 PC you can use anytime at the lobby and the pool table behind the receptionist. The receptionist is 24 hour. You can wash your clothes at the Laundry (you need pay with the coin to use the Washing Machine). They can help you to call the taxi too. Thanks for all the service you all give for me. Im very satisfied :)”
“This hostel for the price, cleanliness, friendliness of staff and other travellers has to be the best in Shanghai. I ended up staying 4 nights and the staff were more than happy to help a foreigner around town. Not only that, but unfortunately my phone was stolen at the Metro stop. Their employees went above and beyond to help me try to get my phone back, even driving me to where we thought it was and letting me use their personal computers. It was the nicest staff, who speak pretty good English and I would recommened this hostel to everyone. 这个宿舍的价格,清洁,友善的工作人员和其他旅客必须是上海最好的。我最后住了4晚,工作人员非常乐意帮助一个外国人在城里。 不仅如此,不幸的是我的手机在地铁站被盗。他们的员工超越以上,帮助我试着让我的手机回来,甚至把我带到我们想像的地方,让我用他们的个人电脑。这是最好的工作人员,他说的很好的英语,我会推荐这个宿舍给大家。”
“We arrived really late but the hostel had 24h service so that was no problem, the staff gave us really nice information and great tips about where to go in Shanghai and what to look out for. The hostel also had a lot of different transportation information (both inside Shanghai and far out of Shanghai). The hostel had wi-fi in the rooms and really nice food and beverage menu to eat all the daily meals from. So if you are planning to stay in Shanghai and want to live at a really nice place for good money value that's located really central you should totally go to the Shanghai Blue Mountain Bund Youth Hostel!”
“My only complaint would be... why there are not more of these hotels all around Shanghai? I would stay in this place every single time.”
“my room is small with 2 twin beds with clean comfortable sheets and pillows. has water kettle and basic toiletries(brush, toothpaste, comb, soap and shampoo, hair dryer). the area is close to restaurants and shops. the area where the hotel is is quiet. super friendly staff (all 3 behind the counter) understand and speak basic english and were very helpful and caring. i'd not hesitate to book this hotel again for short stays”
“This makes it three and counting. There’s a good mix of Chinese tourists and temp workers and international travelers to give it an energetic yet relaxed atmosphere. Between the helpful and friendly staff and the interesting guests, I had no problems with communicating despite my lack of language skills. Will stay there the next time I’m in Shanghai for sure, feels like home.”
“If you want a plain, clean discount hotel in the centre of Shanghai to use as a base while sightseeing then go to the Phoenix. Excellent value for a central Shanghai location, very near 2 metro stations and Peoples Square. In the middle of restaurants quarter with great small shops including a small supermarket next door open 24 hours where you can buy water, milk, yoghourt etc. Small fruit shops and bakeries are also close by. The hotel is on top of its own very popular restaurant but on the 4th floor we were not bothered by noise or smell from the restaurant. All the staff were very helpful. Breakfast on the roof terrace is good. The room was clean, a reasonable size, and unusually for China, the bed was very comfortable. The dispenser in the room for hot and cold drinking water was great for making coffee and tea. Since the price is low expect the furnishings and decoration to be basic and a bit knocked about. Our 4th floor room looked out of the back of the hotel onto roofs so no scenic view of Shanghai but it was quiet. People have reported not having hot water in the shower but that only happened to us once in a week. We missed having a room safe and suggest the hotel puts in lockers for guests. We felt very safe in the hotel and in the neighbouring streets, even late at night. We would return to the Phoenix.”
“Nothing much to walk around, no shopping mall around, only shoplots with food and grocery shops. Good for people who is on transit or catching early flight coz is very near to airport. Not easy to find transportation. Far away from city. Not really friendly staff Room is clean”
“Overall, it is an excellent hotel considering its cost. Just one thing, the hotel claims they offer free shuttle bus to disney. Actually, they are not. Certainly, it is not expensive since the hotel is very close to disney land. ”
“Staff went out of their way especially May to help me”
“The hotel is in a quiet little town call jiading. The room that I had was very clean and quiet. Restaurants, Supermarket, and shopping centre are at walking distance. Moreover, the staff at reception is very friendly and provide us a lot of local information. I wll stay in this hotel again if I pass through Shanghai. ”
“One of the best Jinjiang Inn that I stay in China. Very friend reception and staffs. The hotel is not located in tourist area. It is 12 minutes walk from subway Ningguo. Between the subway and the hotel, there is a Walmart like super center Auchan, McDonald and Starsbuck restaurant and a good bakery in the mall. There are many restaurants near the subway and one street south of the hotel including KFC. Clean room and comfortable bed. Bottled water is not provided is my issue. Overall, 9 out of 10.”
“Good value for money.. At a very good location.. Very amicable staff.. They don't so much speak English, but use a translator app on their phones which works well.. REMEMBER to load a translator app before you leave for China if you're using an android phone as Google and it's associated platforms don't work at all in China.. So naturally, using 'Google play' to download the translator app is out of the question.. Maybe there's an other way.. But I have no idea”
“This is one of the cheap and best hotels I ever stayed. Everything was very clean and nice. Bed was comfortable with nice pillows. Of course you do not have space to play football, but you have enough space to keep your suitcase and things. The location is bad (so it is cheap) and hard to find. Most staff do not speak English. You need a translator such as smart phone or ipad. Please note there is no Google in China and it is blocked by Chinese Government. They use Baidu. Also you must go with a printout map of the area (both small and enlarged) with Chinese translation to show to taxi drivers. It is about 10 min walk from Lujiabang Road in Line 8 and if you do not have much baggage you could walk.”
“Somehow out of city centre but with good public transport. Staff spoke Chinese only but were willing to listen and help. Chance to mingle into Chinese space and a very good value for money”
“- Hotel is far away from city central where close to Pudong (PVG) airport, thus mainly for night/early morning catch flight need. - Good things was hotel provide Free Shuttle service to/from Pudong airport by hourly (my flight was 6pm and I manage to take 3.25am to airport) - Hotel also provide Free Shuttle service to Shanghai Disneyland (3 trip during morning & 3 trip back during night) - Room ambient is good and clean, aircon/heater all function well - Nothing nearby the hotel thus either need grab some food before back to hotel or call local food delivery - In and Out from hotel with cab hailing is a must, can get hotel reception assist for DiDi car (local taxi) booking - Check-in is seamless and hassle free Thank you will back to stay again when visit Shanghai with catch flight need.”
“Clean Rooms, A bit small - But you get what you pay for”
“Very fast check in and check out, friendly hotel staffs, no traffic noise, good location to dine and shopping.”
“Location of the hotel is really bad. It is far from the downtown and you cannot use subway to go to the hotel , you need to take a bus as well. Staff cannot speak English and rooms are dirty. It is cheap but not value of money at all.”
“Cheap and far away from Shanghai city center. Be aware that the underground system to hotel shut down at 10pm.”
“Near to airport.. they have free transfer.. please do ask them”
“One of my fellow traveler’s room got broken into from outdoors: as she was getting out of the shower, they knew she was inside. Area generally has a creepy vibe, it’s a bit dirty, drains are bad, and breakfast is pretty bad too. But it’s really cheap, so what can you expect? ”
“I loved the price, internet, TV, and the comfortable AC and bed. The shower worked well also. I also liked that there were a bunch of eateries around the area. You didn't have to look that hard to find them. A huge mall is close by also -- a bus ride away. But, I was a little sad about 2 things. 1) The staff didn't clean the room well and didn't change my sheets until I asked them to. I had to go to the front desk to ask them each time. 2) In the morning, while still sleeping, I heard continuous loud slamming of doors by staff members and loud talking as if noise wasn't an issue for them. I woke up a few times from sound sleep due to it. I personally chose the motel for it's close proximity to some business I had to take care of. But if you are looking to stay by the touristy areas in Shanghai, this is not so close. It's about a 45-minute subway ride from downtown. Generally, if noise, complete cleanliness, and location are not so important to you, I think this motel is a 5 out of 5 (100%). I stayed here for 15 days.”
“Thank you to front desk manager on duty to allow for later check out, much appreciated ”

Staff really really good”
“There are many luxury hotels in Shanghai and Grand Hyatt Shanghai may not be the one newest, but oh how wonderful their customer service was!
“After reading about 25 reviews of hotels all over Shanghai, I decided to book a night in the Purple Mountain. Of course the hotel is a few kilometres away from the centre, but that should be clear from one look on the map. It is very close to public transport, and that is one of the main advantages: take the Maglev, change trains and a few minutes later you leave Century Avenue station and are two hundred metres away from the hotel - great! The Chinese dinner from the menue I had was very good, and the room was very nice: perfectly clean, warm, fairly large. But the two major features were the friendlyness of the staff and the absolutely stunning city views: 38th floor, looking north towards the skyscrapers of the financial district. Wow! So if you want to stay in Shanghai in a very nice hotel with helpful, friendly staff, good food and a convenient location, I dearly recommend the Purple Mountain Hotel.”
“Pudi hotel in Shanghai was exceptional. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai - great room, attentive staff & fantastic location. ”
“Great hotel at good price for its quality. It's very close to Hongqiao Airport T2 and Hongqiao Train Station. You can walk to both from the hotel but be aware it's not signed well and few locals in the area speak English to ask directions! If you are flying into T1, it is quite challenging getting to T2. There is a Metro line underneath (only one stop) but you have to fully leave airport to get it (they is no internal route inside the airport, which is somewhat unusual for an airport!). I was told there was a bus every 30 mins between terminals but I couldn't find it so ended up getting a taxi around the airport at a cost of RMB55. There is a shopping mall very close the the hotel called the HUB, which also has a food court in basement. Only other thing to point out is this whole area is quite new, so I had trouble getting taxi's back to the hotel as they didn't know where it was. make sure you have the address written clearly in Chinese, ideally with a map if you go out.”
“The front dest manager Sophia was amazingly helpful and pleasant to help us to check in The Qube Hotel for the second time. Other friendly staffs were Alisha, Frank, Tammy and Ella. Amy has always been our favorite staff since our first check in to The Qube Hotel and always going extra mile to guide us pertaining Shanghai's unique culture. We are surprised that even the british general manager, Mr Graham was as friendly and always striving to help their guess to feel at home. My family of 6 (from child 6-7 year old to parents 70) have revisited The Qube Hotel after few days stayed in Howard Johnson @ Guxiang Hotel_near East Nanjing Road, at the heart of Shanghai City. Our rooms at 1725 and 1723, Club Floor, have amazing view and are spacious. The location of The Qube Hotel is strategically situated nearby Shopping Malls (Bailian Chuansha), Multiples Restaurants (lower ground and 4th floor of Bailing), about 15min to Airport and Disneyland, about 30min to Shanghai Wild Zoo. However, the Shanghai's city is rather far, about 1hour using metro or taxi. We appreciate the free shuttle service to Disneyland (departure from hotel at either 0720/0820; pick up at either 2020/2120 and airport pickup transportation). However, you will need to book one day earlier. My parents and children have truly enjoyed our stays in The Qube Hotel, more than other 5stars Hotel we had stayed in Shanghai.”
“Very nice hotel with good clean location. If you are participating or visiting Shanghai new expo this is the perfect hotel to stay. Hotel staff did everything to make us happy. I give best rating. Once all customers watch rating score and read only first few words of review i would like to add some bad experience in the end. The first rooms air conditioner was very loud and first evening i found very thin used medical small glass bottle from the carpet. In second day i found smaller glass part from my bed. And I think this room has bed bug. After informing hotel staff they moved us into different room. And the new room was perfect.”
“Good Dim Sum at its Ginger 15 cafe. Room is clean with spacious bathroom and tub. Next to Metro station, and shopping complexes for food and shopping. Staff is not as friendly and helpful to be expected from a 5stars hotel but still above average compare to other Shanghai hotels of the same grade. Good value as the Hotel recently has a 30% discount promotion, otherwise at its original rate, there are other comparable or better hotels”
“Didn't hear about this hotel in Shanghai previousely. Booked it due to some coincidence. However, a very new one with nice interior and exterior design. Staffs were helpful, breakfast was good. Very close to shopping zones, metro and train station. A very good choice in Shanghai for its price.”
“What I love about the W chain of hotels is that you are always assured of a certain standard. I've stayed at other W's as well and I have never had any complaints. The same goes for the W Shanghai. I stayed in the Spectacular Room with a panoramic view of the Bund, breathtaking both day and night. The bathroom was spacious with his and her sinks, huge bathtub, waterfall shower as well as a Japanese toilet. The bed was very comfortable and the huge sofa that ran along the windows was the perfect perch from which to observe the world below. Special mention also goes to the wonderful staff working there. From the minute you walk into the lobby you are greeted by friendly faces at the ready should you need help. The same goes for the FOH staff at the check-in desks. You're attended to immediately following your exit from the elevators. They will also give you some infused water if the outside heat was a bit too much to bare. Thanks for a lovely stay!”
“as difficult as it can be to travel around china as a non chinese speaker, the hotel staff made it easy to get around, not only showing locations on a map, but drawing an additional map marked with landmarks that would be easy for me to spot. the horizon club lounge was a relaxing oasis. the lounge staff was very attentive and seemed to preempt my every need. it should be noted that they do have a smoking section, but it is not separated by doors. you can smell smoke when you walk into the lounge, but it is not overwhelming. (i guess you have to remember you are in china where smoking is permitted in most places). overall, it was a great experience. i felt like i was in a much smaller boutique hotel with the service that comes with that. i look forward to my next visit to shanghai to stay again at the pudong shangri-la.”
“We have stayed at many Jin Jiang hotels in China, but this was our first time staying at the flagship hotel in Shanghai. We were very impressed with the quality, cleanliness, and professionalism of the staff. Booking through agoda gave us the opportunity we probably wouldn't have otherwise had to stay at this 5-star hotel because of the great value offered. Interesting to note that many famous people have stayed there previously, including Reagan, Thatcher, and Deng Xiao Ping. It was also very convenient to Metro's line 1 and within walking distance to many stops and restaurants. The staff was always very helpful in calling a taxi for us when necessary, however. The only slight negative was the fact that there are many entrances on the Jin Jiang site which can become a little confusing to new guests and taxi drivers; however, the staff was always available to guide and deliver us where we needed to go. We would definitely stay there again in the future - with agoda's help, of course!”
“located just above subway line 2, which goes through shanghai cbd, shopping district, lujiazui and onward to pudong airport. booked the deluxe room at a very reasonable price that comes with new decor. excellent location for business travellers who need to conduct meetings in hongqiao. plenty of cheap shopping in the vicinity too.”
“Right next to Line 2 Metro so you can easily get everywhere in Shanghai from the "cheap goods at Science and Technolgoy stop to Nanjing road (east or West) and also the Bund and any connecting lines. Localy the hotel is connected to a shopping mall but if you go down into the station you can walk across to the Chamtime shopping area and also good cheap foods.”
“The hotel is well situated near the Shanghai South Railway station with great professional staff that speak English. Very comfortable with a concierge service that will assist you all hours of the day. Great facilities such as a pool , gym and spa. This was by far my favourite hotel in Shanghai.”
“I like to stay at this hotel which has unique and classic design and good location. However price is quite high this time. Hotel should provide international tv channels not only local tv channels. Keep give best service to the guests. Will come back again if visiting Shanghai.”
“with this kind of price its hard to beat this hotel when choosing a hotel in shanghai. The view ? just amazing ! you can see shanghai skyline from the other side the room is very clean the swimming pool is another story , the changing room is smelly and the hot water dipping pool are just gross (mossy) the pool itself is just okay ask for room that facing west for the skyline view...”
“Finding a reasonably priced hotel in Shanghai can be a challenge. I have used the ZTE hotel in Pudong several times and have found it well suited for the business traveler on a budget. It is very close to the line 2 subway and thus easy to access the rest of Shanghai from. While most of the staff do not speak English, they work hard to ensure you are checked in efficiently and have the information you need for the hotel. The rooms have been clean. The breakfast is not bad - although if you are a juice in the morning drinker like myself, go around the corner to the 7/11 and buy a bottle the night before. The rooms can be noisy at times but I found it tolerable, except for one night when a whole group of drunken business people decided to lose their way to their room - but I suspect no hotel can be immune from that. All in all I will continue to use the ate for its reasonable rate. If you know your way around Shanghai at all, this hotel will work for you.”
“The hotel surrounding is relatively quieter if compared to The Bund Shanghai. It is a 5 to 7 mins walk to Line 10 MRT station - Yi Li Road station. Hotel is 30 mins drive to Hong Qiao railway station and Hong Qiao airport. If you prefer quietness and do not mind traveling with MRT, this could be your hotel. ”
“we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. the hotel interior is beautifyl. its too bad that we didnt have the time to have a meal at the hotel as the restaurant looks very decent. the hotel was clean, and the staff were very helpful. we would definitely return as the the price of the hotel was also very reasonable even it was peak season when we stayed (during new year's eve period).”
“good location, near to metro station weinning road, you can go to any directions in shanghai by metro.fashion shopping and indian food restaurant (punjabi) near by.garden to have morning walk, varios banks branch to have currency exchange and business transactions. clean room and good amenities, over all satisfied.”
“This is a business hotel right opposite Shanghai Futures Exchange building in Pudong District. It lives up its 4* rating in almost every aspect - staff, facilities, amenities, cleanliness of the guest room, etc.. I was accompanying two senior citizens for a leisure tour in Shanghai and the reason we chose a hotel in the financial district of Pudong over one in the more touristic Puxi districts is that the hotel rates tend to be lower and it's closer to Pudong Airport. However, it turned out that we had to rely more on taxis, as the nearest metro station is 1km away and my older travel company refused to walk so far (though the metro station is on Line 2 with direct connection to both Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport, as well as various touristic attractions such as Oriental Pearl Tower, Nanjing Road pedestrian street, People's Square, Mdm Tussaud's, Jing-An Temple, etc.). Also, as the location is a bit far away from shopping districts, we even had difficulty in having a quick fast food meal within walking distance.”
“I am from Hong Kong and went to Shanghai from 28/11 - 1/12 for a business trip aim at attending an exhibition at Shanghai NECC. The location of hotel is excellent, just less than 10 mins walk (simply cross over a bridge) and you will arrive NECC. I had a lot of wonderful experiences when staying at the executive floor. For the breakfast buffet, you will be directed to a separated dining room inside executive lounge, and you could choose the food from buffet area and A La Carte menu. You could also use the facilities in business centre for free. For the room, you could also pick a special favor of pillow to sleep. Staff in general is very polite and pleasant, especially I could feel that the supervisors/ managers delivered professional services to the guests. I would also like to make a compliment to William and his fellow colleague Evelyn inside Executive Lounge. They are so kind and just like a close friend of mine; giving me and my family a warm welcome every morning at breakfast time. Chatting with them was the most enjoyable part of my stay in this hotel. They also helped me to solve a problem in related to my business matter promptly. Rooms for improvement to the hotel: - Except the restaurants inside NECC, there is insufficient dining place nearby the hotel and the guests could just dine at the hotel restaurants. However, there is only one restaurant inside the hotel and always full (dinner time) during exhibition period. I was told to go to the 2 restaurants at Primus Hotel (these 2 hotels are in the same group) which is just opposite to the Qube Hotel. However, one restaurant at Primus Hotel was full as well; and the other buffet restaurant serves nearly the same food as the Qube Hotel. The guests have little / or even no choice. - There is room for improvement for the junior staff at the reception of dinner buffet restaurant. In one night, I went there to ask for a table for three, and a junior staff told me it was full and might b”
“This was our second time at the Green Court Diamond. First time 32 days, 25 & 7 with Agoda, then 20 nights again with Agoda. Listen this place is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC FOR THE MONEY AND HAS THE BEST FACILITY OF ITS KIND AMONG SERVICED APARTMENTS IN SHANGHAI . We decided to check out One Sunland Place on the subway, and Lanson Place across the street from the the other Green Court Place in Jin Qiao. Both other places were unclean, old and outdated furniture and just run down, not worth half the money they asked for. However the GREEN COURT DIAMOND IS FANTASTIC. BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE GREEN CITY PARK RESIDENTIAL AREA, MODERN SPACIOUS ROOMS, FULLY EQUIPPED, NICE UPDATED AND NEW FURNITURE. VERY VERY COMFORTABLE BEDS , BIDET TOILETS, GREAT HOUSE KEEPING. AMY WAS OUR HOUSE KEEPER SHE WAS THE BEST. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR LOCATION AND QUALITY AND SERVICE IN A SERVICED APARTMENT IN SHANGHAI THE GREEN COURT DIAMOND IS A MUST AND BEST VALUE FOR THE MONEY ANYWHERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Hotel is located almost center of Shanghai. Lovely old building completely updated to modern design. Rooms are large and service staff kept room clean.Located next to Metro Lines and shopping areas. Walked to the Bund and surrounds easily. Must be the best value Hotel in Shanghai with beautiful gardens,Shopping and metro within area.”
“The room was homey, there were even washing machine (include detergent powder) and microwave inside the room. You can buy foods the night before and re-heat them for breakfast. The room was also clean and neat although the bathroom was very small. There were compliment foods inside the room which you could have them for free, they even put ice cream in the fridge! The location might be a little fuzzy to find for the first time but soon you would realize it is a nice location since there is many restaurants nearby, near to the subway station, convenient store, phone provider, and also a railway ticket office which was very helpful to us for booking ticket to Hangzhou. The room's Wi-Fi connection was also very good. The staff were also nice and very helpful, they let us put our big luggages in their office for 4 days when we went for Hangzhou although we were already check out and only came back to take luggages before we departed to airport to go home. Overall it is very recommended to anyone who are willing to experience a nice local-like stay in Shanghai.”
“We were staying in Shanghai for 2 nights and booked this service apartment after getting a good rate online. And it was one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Though a service apartment, it is no less than a 4 star hotel. Clean room, with washing machine, microwave, hot plate and a rice cooker. English speaking staff, great breakfast and great location. Just a 1-2 minutes walk away from MTR subway station. There is a shopping center right next to the hotel with KFC, Starbucks, a bakery, a noodle bar and local fruit shops around, this location is really really nice. I had my 3.5 year old kid with me and staying in this hotel was so comfortable. We cooked food, washed laundry and it was a home away from home. Metro ride to Nanjing street just costs 3 RMB per person vs 20 in the taxi. I am definitely staying here whenever I'm back in Shanghai!”
