The security/police very helpful. Try to assist me to find the place for Halal Food. Overall nice place and Im Happy to be there.
Will come back again.
It's a hectic city full of life, the city that never sleeps! There is plenty to do and plenty to see!
Shenzhen is a thriving city with lots of quality hotels, which make it a nice place to stay for business trips.
Varieties for food, attractions and shopping are not rich enough when compared with neighbouring cities, such as Hong Kong and Macau.
Shenzhen at any time of year except Chinese New Year, is a very interesting city. It has many parks and amusement parks to see and is good for shopping.
Many people from Hong Kong come over to do their shopping as it is much cheaper than Hong Kong. A taxi from the Hotel to the train station is about 30RMB and you can do a quick trip to Hong Kong. Many travelers stay in Shenzhen instead of Hong Kong as the Hotels are cheaper and rooms are much bigger. You need a car to get around if you want to see several of the attractions during your stay.
Favourite place for sightseeing are Windows of the world Splendid China. Favourite place for shopping in Dongmen Area.
Favourite place for bargaining in Louhu Area.
very modern fast city with young wealthy population who are generally friendly to visitors. Fantastic new buildings if modern architecture interest you, great shopping for everything, the world's number one shopper (my wife) has never been disappointed when looking for bargains, even if you cannot find larger size clothing there is always jewelry, bags etc.
This place is the center of the earth for technology and you can browse for days.
Better than shopping in the more expensive Hong Kong. Seafood restaurants offer an amazing array of fresh live seafood at a reasonable price.
Huge modern shopping malls are excellent and also have fantastic restaurants. I liked KK Mall restaurants that are also a treat for the eye -- excellent decor ranging from traditional to modern.
Shenzhen city is closer from Hongkong and easy access from HKIA by Train, Ferry and busses. A little problem for foreight tourist of business man because most of driver cannot speak English.
We use limousine from HKIA to Shenzen, there is Jewish, and Japan inside. The driver ask to show the pasport at the border gate, but people not understand since they just can speak chinese. And we need to change the car two times at the shopping centre in Shenzen before reach to the hotel
From word of mouth, Shenzhen appeared to be a horrible city. But for me, it is generally quite organized, clean and friendly.
But there isn't much to explore, as compare to metropolitan cities such as Shanghai or Beijing.
Shenzhen is the first and oldest of the Special Economic Zones, set since the days of Mr Deng Ziao Ping, as far as I know.
As such, it has developed a large group of business persons who are knowledgeable about foreign trade and some services associated with this field. Shenzhen has the distinction of hosting one of China's most dynamic stock exchanges, of which we hear very little in the Western business press. Shenzhen happens to be located adjacent to the Hong Kong S A R. It also has a very large port, its own international airport, and various freight rail links. For a Western company or firm interested in the Chinese market, I would suggest it carefully consider Shenzhen to establish its China office or subsidiary. There is a large and growing 'foreign' community, which can be networked via some websites such as ShenzhenStuff.
The people in shenzhen are not as friendly as I think, especially when asking for directions and informations.
Great place to shop and kick back and relax and enjoy the hot springs and all the other fun things to do.
A very metropolitan city with a wide diversity of culture and visitors. Certainly a nice place to immerse in art and culture.
Shops are plentiful and one can buy almost anything here. Also a good place for the adventurous to explore the rich surroundings.
if visiting splendid china, make sure you pick up tickets for the shows early (part of the admission price but requires allocated seating)
Not a place for kids or with large group. Fast city but highly unorganised. Apart from the large hotels, hard to find clean restaurants.
Visit Huaqiangbei, Windows of the World, Splendid China. Lots of great food at Laojie, Shaibu and Guomao.
Dongmen Street Night Market is a must go!
Crowded city with many famous places such us Window of the World. This city also very near with Hong Kong and Guangzhou
For Android user , I would recommend to install maps.app, which use gps navigator to locate the area, don`t expect to use google map
It is simple. I love this beautiful city!! First time,I have been in Shenzhen in December 2013, and to today, when is April 2015,I'm visited this city 6 times yet !! Weather in Shenzhen is pleasant in winter too, when is about 15 deg.
Shenzhen is great,although..... Sincerely I have to say, that people are more friendly in Shanghai,Shenyang,Beijing and HongKong, where I have been too.
This place is very similar to Hong Kong, but without the endless and compacted buildings. Public transport is much more advanced than I expected (I would even think it might be better than HK).
There are many theme parks around, enough to take up days to finish them. Food is great and security is reasonable with sufficient precautions taken. Cleanliness wise, keep your expectations relatively low - air is better than HK definitely, but you have alot of people smoking and spitting.
Not thing, at all, like HK. There is a lot of Minor Chinese walking around. Just save money for stay at hugh price hotel in HK by staying in Shenzhen and travel back to do shopping in HK.
Convenient transportation with easy access to bus, metro, taxi and rail. There are many shopping arcades for shopping and dinning.
Shenzhen is a nice place but you have to go Luohu, here a lot of famous shopping place, Dongmen pedestrian street, Luohu commercial centre and Huaqian North for shopping.
Also can go to Window Of The World is a nice place also.
Shopping is the main reason people flock to Shenzhen. The chance of picking up a bargain to get cheaper goods is just too good to experience.
The shopping area is very large and it has many brand name stores in several large malls. One of the best places in the world to buy electronics and computer goods is at Huaqiang Bei.
it is a city that is near to hong kong. From shenzhen it is easy to access to hong kong. Hence it is not a good place to do shopping here as it is more expensive than hong kong.
Subway covers most area of Shenzhen. However, it is terrible to travel by subway during peak hours. The commuters are like animals in the jungle.
Crowded, dirty and polluted. People need to be educated as they are treating this city as a village. Rubbish thrown out of car window, people spit anywhere they like.
Customers screamed at cashier and etc. Not a peaceful atmosphere staying there.
Crowded, people is not friendly. Every individual comes to the city to earn money. Grab what ever they can.
Dirty and polluted city. People just throw rubbish out of the car window and spit anywhere they like. Customer service is very poor at some restaurants. I even witnessed a customer just shouted at the cashier at one of the shopping centre. I personally will not recommend family who travel with children to come to this place.
Try to avoid traveling by subway during peak hours. You would find yourselves in jungle (Subway Stations) with furious animals (commuters).
Shenzhen, original meaning "Deep Drains" area was levelled for this modern city. Some local girls here dsscribe it as a beautiful city.
In LuoHu, the evening smog is concerning. There are two coastlines, either side of Hong Kong. Bao'an has beach, theme parks, like "Window of the World" Exhibition centers, lots of hotels. Hotels here are mostly cheaper than Hong Kong, better room and size for the money, for example the 5 star Sunshine Hotel is excellent value on Agoda, usually half price. Chamate Restaurant, in kingglory shopping mall, on Jiabin Rd
