"The Hotel du Vin is a small and fabulously located hotel on the sea about a block from the Old Course. The front desk staff is welcoming and professional, while the rooms are nice and clean. One might consider it rather quaint compared to the Old Course Hotel or the Fairmont, but the location can't be beaten. The breakfast is served in tut front room over looking the sea and is a nice way to start the day. The grumpy main waitress "sort of" adds to the charm but shouldn't deter you from trying out this nice smaller property while enjoying the beautiful town of St. Andrews. Cheers..."

"I have stayed in several hotels in St Andrews and cost is often the issue with high prices at several of the more well known hotels. I chose this on the basis of its location and cost and was not disappointed. Reviews elsewhere had highlighted the night club underneath the property but, on a Wednesday night this was not an issue (presumably only open weekends?). Parking was free around the property and the room was comfortable and in a great location for access to the golf courses, shops, bars and restaurants"
