Travelodge Hotel Sydney
Sydney CBD,Sydney - View on map
"Travelodge Sydney Hotel is perfect for first time visitors to Sydney, returning visitors and the like. It's easily accessible location ( from the airport) and closeness to everything makes it the perfect hotel. Trains were only a few minutes walk away (Museum Station), buses, monorail and light rail were also within short walking distance. Rooms were adequately sized and well equipped, they also included Foxtel channels. The hotel is very close to Chinatown, World Square and Paddy's Markets/Market City so it makes it very easy to find something to eat or a place to shop. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Travelodge Sydney Hotel and I will definitely stay there again if I returned to Sydney!"

Sydney Backpackers

"It wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t as bad as what others said in their reviews. Maybe they were expecting something like a 5 star hotel in a hostel. One of the cheapest hostels in Sydney and you also get to save on transpo since everything is walking distance. It is regularly cleaned everyday. Facilities great. My favorite are the staff. Special mention to Diego, Angelo, and Bryan!"

PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney
Darling Harbour,Sydney - View on map
"We stayed in the Parkroyal Darling Harbour Hotel in Sydney only for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is very modern, clean and nice. Checkin was easy and friendly. The rooms are large, modern, clean and the bathroom very nice. Just the view to the back of the hotel is nothing. Breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruits, fruit juice, huge choice of food (bread, sausages, egg station, Asian food, cereals etc) which is really nice!! The gym is a bit small but sufficient. Overall we can totally recommend the hotel. Of course DArling Harbour is a convenient and nice location with bars, shops, restaurants, sights etc all over. "

ibis budget Sydney Airport
Sydney Airport,Sydney - View on map
"We just needed a bed before an early flight and this was great - I was concerned it would be a bit shabby and dodgy but it was fine, everything was new and clean. We found the T3 parking was cheaper over the length of time we were away so we just parked there and walked over. Easy walk to terminal from hotel, no roads to cross. Room had enough room for two small carryons and us, probably would fit larger suitcases too. Front desk staff were very helpful even though they were very busy. Bit of a walk up to Mascot main street for food (nearby options are all fast food) but I'm sure you could get delivery. Nothing really negative - basic towels, no handtowels or facecloth, and there's only blackout blinds or nothing but these are minor. Unlike most hotels in Australia, I found this good value. "

"The place suited my needs perfectly., as I had a few days before Christmas that I was able to spend time with my daughter before flying out of Sydney. The room was clean and facilities basic bit sufficient for my needs. Tucked away behind Emu Plains station makes it the perfect place to stay for those who need to visit the Penrith area "

"Quest is popping up all over Australia now and you get a mixed bag with the quality. This one is new and first class. I had a long day, and went to the wrong Quest up the road......But eventually found friendly staff, great shower, easy washing machine, soft bed, lovely breakfast; I’ve stayed in a few around the university and business park area, but will stick with this one from now on"

Kirketon Hotel Sydney
Darlinghurst,Sydney - View on map
"I was in town for a business trip, and was staying at the Westin (one of the nicest hotels in Sydney) on the company's dime. I decided to stay an extra day (wanted to get a Saturday night in) and so I moved to a more affordable place. The Kirketon is awesome -- small, but nice. No elevator, but you wont have to go up more than a few flights of stairs and the guys at reception will help you with your bags. There is a GREAT bar downstairs called Eau De Vie. It's expensive but legit. Beautiful people and crazy drinks -- I got a liquid nitrogen martini. At one point, a waitress opened a bottle of champagne with a sword for the table next to me. The room was small and there was no view from the window, so it's not really the kind of room you can chill in for a while, but you're right smack in Darlinghurst -- tons of cafes, restaurants, bars are all around. A few blocks walk from the bus that will take you to Bondi for a few bucks. A few blocks walk from King's Cross. Shower was nice and warm, bed was EXTREMELY comfortable, and there was a TV mounted up where the wall met the ceiling, great for TV watching before bed. Definitely would recommend this place to others and would stay there again!"

More about Sydney

As the capital of New South Wales, Sydney is the largest and most cosmopolitan city of Australia. Several large metropolitan areas and a wide network of trains and buses cater to the city. Sydney Airport is the gateway for the majority of visitors, and Green Square station can be used to access the city.

The city of Sydney is host to many famous landmarks, none more so than the iconic Sydney Opera House. The opera house as well as the Sydney Harbour Bridge are both situated on Circular Quay, a hub of activity and the location of the city’s ferry terminal. Beaches are also a popular draw, including the likes of Bondi Beach. Bondi’s Campbell Parade is a busy area both day and night, and shops, cafes, and bars line the beachfront.

Shopping areas of the city are readily available. Exclusive boutiques can be spotted on Oxford Street in Paddington, and Pitt Street is home to the luxury brands and department stores. Sydney is also very pedestrian friendly. The city’s friendly weather and wide footpaths encourage exploration of the city, and with all it has to offer, visitors find it hard to decline.
