"I am glad that my family decided to stay at Mercure Sydney Hotel. It was an additional pleasant experience for my vacation in Sydney. The concierge team was very helpful. The room was clean. I like the ideas of providing a variety of pillows on a bed – very comfortable. I also like a lamp on the table. Unlike some hotels, it is bright enough for me to read books."

"My friend and I stayed in a twin room with an ensuite- a nice, comfortable room for a hostel. (Some kind of soap holder would have been appreciated in the shower, though the bathroom was clean and water pressure was good!). All the accomodation in Sydney was very pricey during the weekend of the stay- given the fact, the cost of the room was reasonable. Beds were quite comfortable (double bed + trundle), there was a tv in the room (but no wifi) and the hostel is in a great location. Staff were friendly and we also appreciated the 'cinema' room, which has nightly movie screenings. There are also lockers downstairs where you can put your belongings after checkout ($4 for the first 4 hours and then $2 for the next 4 I think). The staff also helped us to book a YHA discount for the Aquarium. Unfortunately it was quite noisy on Saturday night (seemed mostly to be coming from drunks and hoons on the main road) but Sunday night was much quieter. Would stay there again if on a budget!"

"We just needed a bed before an early flight and this was great - I was concerned it would be a bit shabby and dodgy but it was fine, everything was new and clean. We found the T3 parking was cheaper over the length of time we were away so we just parked there and walked over. Easy walk to terminal from hotel, no roads to cross. Room had enough room for two small carryons and us, probably would fit larger suitcases too. Front desk staff were very helpful even though they were very busy. Bit of a walk up to Mascot main street for food (nearby options are all fast food) but I'm sure you could get delivery. Nothing really negative - basic towels, no handtowels or facecloth, and there's only blackout blinds or nothing but these are minor. Unlike most hotels in Australia, I found this good value. "

"I have stayed at this hotel for over 9 years and find it to be the best value, and maybe best kept secret (until now) for a convenient hotel in Sydney. Best view of the Bridge, but you need to request the Bridge side. Always request a high floor due to the train traffic noise as the station is only 50 meters away, which is a great benefit for transport, but can be noisy. Overall, this is one of my favourite business hotels in all of Australia!"

"I booked the hotel as a member of Agoda, and found it available during the peak tourist season's Sydney winter holiday in July. As we reserved two rooms as family with young kids, the reception kindly gave us the rooms next to each other. The rooms equipped with the electric water jug and fridge that is an advantage for family.Monorail station just on the back door,so no need to walk to go around the city CBD. Thanks Agoda & Ibis Darling Harbour for our memorable stay in Sydney. Highly recommended!"

"had to book a hotel in sydney in a hurry. after going through hundreds of hotels in various websites i decided to book 'devere hotel'in potts point. probably i was lucky to get a really good deal. per night for a single room suited my budget well (believe me sydney hotels are expensive). i was not impressed by the comments about this hotel but decided to take a chance. location is convenient. 500m to the kings cross railway station and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. woolworths across the road (and coles situated 500m away) is always handy. room was quite satisfactory, bed was comfortable, reverse cycle ac keeps you warm in winter, hot water was great and housekeeping was good. reception was great at helping the customers. unable to comment on food as i could not eat from the restaurant. if only they provided free wifi ....but none of the sydney hotels give you free wifi (except backpackers) overall i was really impressed by the quality of the hotel and the room considering the price. hope that they would maintain the good standard so that i would not have to hesitate in choosing devere hotel next time around in sydney. "1) we were able to check in before 2pm as we arrived earlier than expected. the front office staff were extremely friendly and efficient with providing us a cbd map, they would also take the initiative to google a place for us if they were not familiar with it. 2) we were staying on the 6th floor double decker bed, the size of the room would fit the bed and two cupboards for us to store our luggages it. it is recommended to bring your own locks for it. extra linen was provided as well. 3) the shared bathrooms were clean and well-lit. equipped with 2 toilets and 2 showers for users. the security of the bathrooms are good as the key card is required for entering. 4) the kitchen and dining area was very spacious and it is a good place to meet new friends too. we were able to store our products in the refrigerators and use them for making our own meal. 5) the laundry room was fully equipped with coin-operated washers, dryers and iron board. detergent powders can be bought from the front desk if needed. 6) there were 2 nights where we heard other travellers talking extremely loud and shouting during middle of the night. we also had prankster knocking on our door just for the fun of it. but no harm was done and it is tolerable for us. overall, everything was excellent and during our checkout , we were able to stand inside the front desk area to have our photos taken as a staff in 790 on george. we would definitely stay here again for our next trip in sydney "
