The Star Grand Hotel and Residences Sydney
Darling Harbour,Sydney - View on map
"I suprised my boyfriend for valentines day booking the hotel. It was a wonderful suprise and a beautiful experience they upgarded us to a suit and oh my god it was amazing. The room had three tvs one in the lounge, the other in the bedroom and one in the bath! It was sound a relaxing atmosphere we only left the room to eat dinner. The staff at the hotel were always very helpful as we had a late check out. Star city is the best hotel in Sydney, although it is a little bit more expensive agoda with always help you save a little bit more :) and anyway it is worth every little cent :) and hopefully on some great days you get ungraded :) I would recommed using agoda all the time with my bookings and staying at the star city casino. Everytime i stay at the casino with my boyfriend we always have a wonderful experience thanks to staff and the location of the hotel. The hotel is not only for its great location but also gives you that feeling that you just want to relax and sometimes never want to leave the hotel :) Our time is mostly spent in the beautiful pool and spa :) "

Hilton Sydney

"Stayed overnight only, however was greeted with friendly smiles. I have stayed at most of the deluxe 5 star hotels in Sydney and this would have to rank in the top 5 along with the four seasons, Shangri-la, Intercontinental and the Westin. Modern clean and friendly without being pretentious. The only downer was our bathroom tv not working properly it could have been a flat battery on the remote but we were only there for one night. Breakfast was good without being great offering all the commodities of a full breakfast in sydney."

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour
Darling Harbour,Sydney - View on map
"We have had an amazing stay at Sofitel! The staff were all super friendly and helpful, and went the extra mile to ensure everything went smoothly. We stayed at the Luxury corner room and it is stunning – beautiful view of Darling Harbour and super nice room overall. Did I mention the bubble bath?! We have also enjoyed the benefit brought with Club Millésime – the Afternoon tea and Pre-dinner drinks were amazing on level 35! There are many more highlights – just to touch up on a few more – nice Infinity swimming pool and filling & yummy big breakfast at the Atelier that came with our stay. I will definitely come back in the near future, can’t recommend this place more – hands down one of the very best hotels in Sydney."

Swissôtel Sydney
Sydney CBD,Sydney - View on map
"Swissotel is definitely not the cheapest of hotels in Sydney, but as they say, you get what you pay for. We had a very good first impression of the hotel with the courteous concierge on the street level. The Nespresso machine in our Club Advantage Room was brilliant! Perfect for early-morning and mid-afternoon perk-me-ups. Very close to shopping districts and all major attractions; Circular Quay can be accessed on foot in about 15-20 minutes, Darling Harbour in 10. The hotel is smack in the middle of the Market Street / Elizabeth street shopping district. Sydney Tower is also just 2 minutes' walk away. While we did not dine at the hotel restaurant, there are plenty of food options around - certainly, you won't go hungry here. Town Hall or St James train stations are about 3 minutes away, and the historic Queen Victoria Building is just across the road. Special mention goes out to Mr Ricky of Swissotel: he was our first point of contact upon arrival at Swissotel. Always polite, courteous and exceptional level of service - this is what I call service from the heart! Mr Ricky certainly did a great job at making us feel right at home at the Swissotel and is probably the reason why we would certainly stay at the Swissotel again if we visit Sydney. "

More about Sydney

As the capital of New South Wales, Sydney is the largest and most cosmopolitan city of Australia. Several large metropolitan areas and a wide network of trains and buses cater to the city. Sydney Airport is the gateway for the majority of visitors, and Green Square station can be used to access the city.

The city of Sydney is host to many famous landmarks, none more so than the iconic Sydney Opera House. The opera house as well as the Sydney Harbour Bridge are both situated on Circular Quay, a hub of activity and the location of the city’s ferry terminal. Beaches are also a popular draw, including the likes of Bondi Beach. Bondi’s Campbell Parade is a busy area both day and night, and shops, cafes, and bars line the beachfront.

Shopping areas of the city are readily available. Exclusive boutiques can be spotted on Oxford Street in Paddington, and Pitt Street is home to the luxury brands and department stores. Sydney is also very pedestrian friendly. The city’s friendly weather and wide footpaths encourage exploration of the city, and with all it has to offer, visitors find it hard to decline.
