Where to stay in Tainan
Tainan hotels & accommodations

I am a loyal SPG member, but due to the fact that there is no SPG hotels in Tainan, I chose Silks Place Tainan for my stay. And I am thoroughly impressed. From the front desk to the executive lounge check-in, staff attitude and thoughtfulness, room decor, comfort and cleanliness...all these were impeccable and may even outshine certain SPG hotels I have stayed in Taipe...

Hotel receptionists are very friendly and nice to provide all information about tour in Tainan. Every time when the manager is at lobby he always stand in front of the elevator to invite us get in it , even more , when we leave our luggages due to it is not checking time , he got two bottles of water when he heard we thirsty. The room is spacious, clean and cozy. The ...

Strongly agree with comment from Mr Tan earlier. My family and I had a short 3D2N stay at Kindness Hotel Tainan Chihkan Tower from 22 Mar 16 to 24 Mar 16 and this has to be one of the best Hotels in Taiwan we ever had! The Hotel is just about 5mins cab drive from Tainan Railway Train Station (~NT$100) and about 30mins cab drive from Tainan High Speed Railway Station ...

We stayed 3 nights at Toong Mao. Loved our room with the view. The bed was nice and firm. The room was well kept throughout our stay. Very clean and huge bathroom. We had asked for assistance on a few occasions, including self-serve laundry room. The front desk was always very helpful and courteous. We got a room with a view of the canal. The continental breakf...

If you're looking for a reasonable-priced hotel in Tainan, this should be a great choice. Not luxury, but comfortable enough space for a 4 person family. And it is located with a shopping mall and a cinema, so even if you didn't want to go out far for night market, you still have place to go at night.

I was in Taiwan for 16 nights, staying at 7 different hotel. The best hotel I love the most in Taiwan so far. New , modern design, great facilities, nice shower, best location, only the car park have to pay as hotel doesnt has own car park, but you can still get a great deal from Hotel. Walking distance to close by local food, night market, morning market. No matter d...

We stayed at UIJ for a night on our trip to Tainan. The hotel is in the centre of the city and is very close to many attractions (and food!). UIJ only just started this March but is already very well run. The room was beautifully decorated. We have a record player in our room and countless vinyl records to choose from at the reception. Still and sparkling water plus fr...

Big rooms, spacious rooms, parking lots. Parking pouch at hotel lobby for easy loading and unloading of luggages. Staffs are friendly. Assistance to bring my luggages to my room as I checked in early and room was not ready. Water dispenser is easy reach. Breakfast was great. Many food to choose from. Staff initiated to prepare eggs for us. There are also cakes to choo...

Two days of accommodation in Nan Fun House Hotel, the staff offered their best to the traveller. Their whole hearted service warmed my heart. For example, the breakfast. Itravelled alone. And they insisted giving me two breakfasts. One eating in and another going out. As for the room, Ihave to say the design was just perfect. And the BED, it was five stars! Wo...

We are very impressed by the service of this hotel! The receptionists are always so kind, friendly and helpful. It's one of the best hotel in Tainan I've ever stayed. It's very clean, and surprise with such well designed room! The breakfast is delicious with good food quality and reasonble variety. Free self laundry! Strongly recommend to travelers!!!

It's a hotel with Cartoon Network's cartoons as a theme. Although the theme dint reflects much inside the room, you can find the characters at the hotel entrance, reception, OUTDOOR playground, and in their cafe as well! The room is comfortable and spacious (King Comfort Room), and we are fortunate to have a room with a view of Tainan City. The only flaw that they ha...

Boutique hotel located in Tainan, 5 mins drive to reach Anping attractions. There are 7 of us stay in 2 huge rooms, each came with 2x king size beds and 2x individual bathrooms. Very clean and spacious. Easy to get around to surroundings with car. There's a large car park beside the hotel which is free of charge for hotel guests. Breakfast is provided with good selecti...

Tainan Hotel is a four star hotel. In many aspects it's living up to those expectations. The reception staff are working very good. Always trying to help you. Some of them though don't speak English, but that's really not a problem since there are always someone else to help you. The breakfast buffet has a standard variety of Asian and Western dishes. Unfortunately t...

Though a little bit far from the central area of Tainan City, this hotel was pretty new and clean. Staff there were very kind and helpful. In addition, I had not expected too much on the breakfast served so I wasn't disappointed. Overall, the price of my room was very reasonable for the quality of this hotel.

Not necessarily a good fit for foreigners. Way way outside town and staff are generally friendly but not used to foreigners. It’s a motel for a more specific purpose and while the rooms are nicely done and the shower is great, impractical for most tourism purposes in Tainan.

Staffs were helpful and hotel is pretty near to chihkan tower. Journey to anping fort or tree house from the hotel is also about 15mins journey by cab. Rooms are clean but the hotel could seriously improve in their breakfast selection. As a Chinese, I would say that they serve great porridges but if you are someone that does not fancy porridge, then you are only left w...

I was arranged to stay at the another building of their hotel instead of the origin hotel (check in reception), but it was just fine as it located opposite of the hotel only. Room and shower room was clean but desk area was a bit dusty. Staff was friendly and everything were just fine.

excellent stay in tainan, hotel was conveniently located (about 15 mins walk to huayuan and wusheng night markets, but hotel provides 1-way shuttle to the night markets), breakfast was decent, room was very spacious and all in all a very enjoyable stay. will definitely stay here again when i next visit tainan

The location of the hotel is close to various historical sites for your visit. The room is clean and the facilities in the room were simple but all you required for your daily needs are there. The staff are the main reason for the stay there as they are very friendly and helpful. They always try to assist you in whatever way they could, be it bringing me a bucket of i...

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The room was quite spacious, modern, and comfy. I love the bluetooth mirror speaker, it is really a nice addition. Will definitely stay here if I come back to Tainan, and try their Beer Spa, it sounds wonderful! But the best thing about Beer Hotel is the staff members. They were really helpful, attentive, and caring. Every time they...

The hotel is a little hard to find down a small street, but our taxi had no problem getting there. Once found, it is easy to get walk to the main street and other nearby streets which are full of restaurants and other businesses. The hotel seems new. We really enjoyed the breakfast room, with a choice of three breakfasts -- chinese, american, and (we didn't try) vege...

Stayed at the female dorm for two nights. - Good Location: 3-min walk to Tainan train station and to a street full of local foodies. - The hostel is very new and clean. Stylishly furnished common area and kitchen. Dorm room was big, with table and chair inside the dorm room. There were spaces to put things beside each dorm bed. Lockers are huge enough to put everyth...
Cheap places to stay in Tainan

It is about 20 mins walk from Tainan Railway Station. For first time travellers to Tainan, public transport could be difficult, so I opted to walk since it is just a straight road down. I reached the building where the hotel is situated above, signages were obvious but occasionally I would miss them and need to turn back. It has a private lift situated away from the re...

I arrived late and had booked a room in the mixed dorm room. The room very comfortable with a huge sofa and TV in it also. However I didn't want to stay at a mixed dorm room for the night so I upgraded to a hotel room. The room was spacious and everything was super clean. I had a very comfortable night sleep and checked out at 12 pm. Would definitely come here again ne...

Really enjoyed my stay there, really enjoyed Tainan. Would love to return to this city for more, and would definitely consider staying there again. Booked a double room, spacious, plenty of room for 2 big luggages. With table and side table. Toilet is cleaner than the picture seems, really satisfied with that. The lobby area is a gem. Full of books, magazines, pamp...

Its an only female allowed hostel. Had a came back home feeling when I stay there for 3 nights. Feeling great to stay here. Usage of washing machine is free, but they don't have dryer. Able to hang your cloth at their shuttled roof top. So no worries, it might catch the rain. Able to use anything in their pantry and their toiletries corner. There are 2 ways to get b...

I hesitated a lot before booking this hostel coz obvious it is really cheap and facilities look dated. But I will stay here again next time in Tainan. The atmosphere is great, hotel next to train station, everything is clean and staff is great. I personally saw the staff clean the facilities like every hour the night I stayed there. Staff told / invited me to join the ...

The hostel is quite far from Tainan Train Station, need 25 mins by walking. I was placed in a female dorm of 12, fortunately, I still got a good sleep, no one snoring. I think the facilities are not enough when it is hosteling like 20+ ppl with only 2 toilets & 4 shower rooms.

We chose the Tai Dao hotel both for its location, just opposite the Tainan train station, and its very reasonable price! We were travelling from Chiayi to Tainan by train, then onwards to Kaohsiung also by train, so the location was ideal. Exiting the train station, you are confronted with a very large and very busy roundabout - this serves in part as Tainan’s bus te...

365 hostel is located pretty near the Tainan TRA station. About 5 mins taxi ride or 20 minutes walk from the station. It is also located near many amazing Tainan local eateries and near some pretty good cocktail bars like TCRC and Longbar. The owner and his staff are very friendly and will chat you up. If you ask, they might go for a drink with you and tell you where...

located at a quiet community, the staff is cute and talkative, the room and lobby are clean and cozy. A little far from railway station, yet there's a bus route connected so it isn't a big problem to access. One of the best place to stay in Tainan, highly recommended when you travel to Tainan.

The owner and staff are super super friendly and awesome!! Environment is clean and cozy with surprises in every corner. They have a very chill rooftop space t and when I was there they held a BBQ event to bring everyone together. Really loved my stay at Dream Corner and would totally recommend it to anyone traveling to Tainan!

Generally, we had good experiences for the staying. The host offers cokes at such lower prices for all guests. The rooms have modern design with good and clean decoration Parking lots are at a broad parking space near by. However, there was some water leaking issues at the corner of the wall from the room's water heater closet (at the room's loft). It leaked water t...

it's my first time staying at hostel in Taiwan (I'm Taiwanese and usually book a suite). at the beginning, i'm worry about sharing room with strangers and the cleaness of the hostel. when i arrived You Lyu, i just realized that there is nothing should worry about. My friends and I stay at a dorm with restroom for 8 girls. first, the host, Mr. Wang, is also an artist, ...

i could check in by myself very late, because I got the instructions by email which was very helpful. there were not many people at the place. there were ants in the property and once i saw a cockroach sneaking in through a hole in the door frame. but that seems to be normal case in Taiwan

The hostel looks very brand new place so every thing was shine and clean. The host also well know about tourists. He recommend me to where to go and the places were very good. Location is a bit far from station but its easy to find when you just follow the google map.

It's self check in, luckily there was a guy there that helped me check in. I didn't have a Taiwan number or LINE so I would have been stuck if not. It's a good price for what you get. The room was quiet and clean. However, the bed is two single beds pushed together, the hotel plays music in the corridors from 9am. Also the biggest concern, it's a fire risk. If there wa...

It was very nice choosing this hostel. There are multiple shared bathrooms. Inside bathroom there is place for put many things. It is so comfortable. Every bed has two electric outlets. So there is no worry for sharing outlets with others. Staff is the best. They are friendly and helpful. They recommended many good places, good foods in Tainan and many Chinese cultures...

We were really tired when we arrived from Alishan to Tainan, was quite upset that we did not get to explore tainan at it's full potential. We booked 4 days 3 nights at the property, but we had so much fun so we stayed 2 more nights! Lots of fun activities to do with kids (I have 10, 9, and 6 yr old) day and NIGHT. This hotel finally gave us parents the chance to join the fun, such as laser tag, rock climbing, zip line, etc instead of just watching the kids play. Staff are young and friendly. Swimming pool...

Since we had 3 bookings here I have 3 reviews to fill. :) A month after our trip, I have to say, the staff here really shined. They gave 5-star service and I always felt from them like we were VIPs at an ultra-luxury hotel. So helpful and so courteous, friendly, and gracious. Also to be noted is Fu Ward's most excellent location in the city. Clean quarters and great q...

Great care was put into design of the hotel and room service. Location was very near to Flower Garden nightmarket, 3 min walk plus point as Tainan transport is very lacking if you are going on your own. Room is very comfortable, was able to get good sleep; both bed and pillows are comfortable. Bath room design is beautiful and strong shower with good supply of shamp...

This is one of our favorite hotels ever. The facilities are very nice, although on an Asian (as in smaller) scale. The staff were extraordinarily helpful, and some were able to speak English and Japanese in addition to Mandarin. When we return to Tainan. We will most certainly stay at this hotel.

Incredible open views across the coastal landscape which made a nice change having stayed in Tainan city for a long period. The city is still just an easy busy ride or cab ride away. Free use of bikes very handy - a short bike ride to see beach sunset and also to Anping.

There actually weren't too many choices when we tried to book the hotel in Tainan area just one week before the Chinese New Year vacation. We ended up staying at JustWin's executive suite and the experienced turned out to be very pleasant indeed. There is a well managed gym and sauna on the 10th floor where the suites are located. There is also a free laundry room f...

It's a historical city of Taiwan. There are lots of traditional buildings to visit and department stores/ shopping areas to go in daytime.
Mark out the places you want to go to on a map, then plan your journey route. Most of the places would be within walking distance, or if not, try to get a bicycle.
The old capital in Taiwan, here have many attractions to look around. It's suitable for couple, family, friends, and backpackers.
The Tainan city has a history to follow, as it is the first capital of Taiwan. The natural sites such as the salt mountian and marsh land is interesting for visit.
I feel Tainan is a charming small city very different from Taipei and has lots of history and nature parks.
Drive, Drive and Drive OR walk, keep walking... I think the traffic system is really really inconvenient !
It's a bit different from Taipei. Tainan is smaller but more in culture and cheaper gourmets here and there.
A very friendly city with many interesting and cool thing to do. Food are delicious. However, it is VERY hot in summer.
Some good sites, but if you're tight on travel time, and more of a nature lover, you may strike this city off your list.
I stayed 3 days & 2 nights. I think its just right. There are many salons that look really classy, some have their price stated in a big banner look out for those.
Just a great city to pay a visit, and enjoy the traditional Taiwanese Cuisine and the culture this city provides, make sure you rent a car and see for yourself !!!!
The city is not well developed economically, and has retained a certain degree of quaintness. The city is safe, but beyond the road name plates and official tourist sites, there are very few signs in English or any other foreign language.
Tainan has many historical locations with culture. It is the place where the commercial and business started in long time ago in Taiwan.
The old streets of Yanping street (or also known as Anping street) and the food available there are worth visiting the area.
A city full with history between Taiwan and other country. Lots of ancient building which is in good conditions and lots of delicious local foods along the street, spend 2 nights over here maybe you will discover more on this city.
Better bring your own sunblock and keep on wrapping yourself with sunblock, the sunshine at Tainan is as hot as the inhabitant.
Unfortunately I was only there one night, and the weather was torrential rain, so couldn't explore as much as I wanted.
A city with different attractions where you can enjoy your life day and night. Do enjoy your time having various local snacks.
Tainan is really a symbolic place of Taiwan better than Taipei. People are so nice in there, and it shows the "Real" side of Taiwan.
Ancient Capital Tainan, the ancient capital of Taiwan. Tainan is the birthplace of Taiwan and the oldest city on the island
Just to say that if your stay is near a temple...expect heaps of firecrackers and fireworks and they don't do it just at night.
Very religious and spiritual city, I spent half a day exploring its temples and walking around the old city and streets.
It's the oldest city in taiwan. A lot of temple & historical sights to go if u r interested in that area.
Tainan is a very friendly city, clean, quite and climte suitable for living. This city was the most rich area in Taiwan during the Chin dinasty and have lots culture spots for viewing.
Laid back place with no MRT. Just cab or public buses to move around. Tainan is well known for their local delicacies eg Coffin bread, Dan zai noodles etc.
One day isn't enough to discover Tainan... at least 2 days. Nonetheless, a trip to Tainan to experience the quaint old feel and culture is worth a mention!
Must visit the Night Flower market as it has the best food in the business. Be careful to check which days it is on as not open every day.
great older city with alot of history and culture. People are very friendly. Very different feel compared to most larger cities in Taiwan
A small town with the older generations. Unfriendly cab drivers. Not convenient to travel to far places, no trains or buses, all travelling have to be done through driving.
get an unlimited bus ride at the bus station in front of the train station. there are 2 buses that travel to tourism hot spots (eg.
