Hotel Midtown Richardson

"This being my 9th trip to Taiwan, I have stayed at a number of hotels from 5 star to 3 star. I would rank this as one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Taipei. I had orgininally booked for 3 days but ended up staying a total of 6 days. The location in excellent with the Ximen MRT station exit 5 just outside the hotel. The rooms are very modern and the bed is very comfortable. This is a new hotel and there are still some renovaitons in the lower level but nothing to be a hinderence at all to your stay. I have only some very small comments to make but once again nothing to be overly concerned by. The lip on the shower floor is quite low so the water does not drain away as quick so need to be careful of the water flowing over to the floor. While ther rooms are very spacious there is no where to put your luggage except on the floor maybe the room could have a stand that you can put your luggage on. The breakfast is delivered to your room from an external supplier. Not really to my liking as it was cold. I would have preffered maybe some pastries than the american style that was delivered.. My final comment and this is not a critisicm of this hotel but of most in taiwan. I would like to see an iron and ironing board in the rooms. Overall I must say I was very impressed with this hotel and the staff. I will definately be booking this hotel again on my next trip."

FX Hotel Taipei Nanjing East Rd.

"i recently stayed at fx hotel in taipei with my other half over the new year and it was great. first of all, it was really value for money. i have stayed in other hotels in taipei in the past, which charge around this price, and the size of the rooms were nowhere near fx's. furthermore, as the hotel is newly opened, everything in the room is new and functional. bathroom is very clean and water pressure is good. they provide both wireless and cabled internet free of charge in the room. electronic safe deposit box and an empty mini fridge for you to stock up with drinks and snacks during your stay were also provided. the location is quite good too. its a 5 minutes stroll to the nearest subway station (nanjing east road station - which is one station away from zhong xiao fu xing station) or you can take a 15 to 20 minutes walk along streets lined by shops to the zhong xiao fu xing station where you will find even more shopping and restaurant facilities. there are also a number of eateries around the hotel which is illustrated on a map the hotel provides. also, there is a shop which sells taiwanese very cheap but good breakfast and supper just 5 mins walk from the hotel (ask the staff) and they open till late (we got there at 11pm). also, there is a ba fang yun ji (taiwanese dumplings chain shop) nearby.there are also a number of mini-marts and bakeries around the hotel. to sum it up, we will definitely stay there again when we visit taipei again. highly recommended. Caesar Metro Taipei

"Hotel is 2 minutes walk from subway station and it is located above the wanhua station (train). It is new and everything in good condition. bed really comfortable. The staffs are helpful, polite and funny. The toilet is quite small. My knees almost touched the door when i sit down. I think we got more than what we paid, considering this is a new 4 stars hotel in Taipei"

The Okura Prestige Taipei Hotel
Zhongshan District,Taipei - View on map
"I love my stay at The Okura Prestige Taipei Hotel. It's a brand new hotel with excellent customer service. We stayed in an Okura Double Room. Great value for money with the room luxuriously confortable and equipped. Located very centrally and very near to the Zhongshan MRT Station, it makes travelling around all the tourist attractions within Taipei City an ease. The size of the room is big and very spacious. The essential needs like the shower & WC are pretty High Tech & excellent quality. Definitely will stay there again in my next visit to Taipei and I highly recommend this hotel for first timers to Taipei or anyone looking for a great hotel within Taipei City near centrally located MRT Station. Hotel Royal Nikko Taipei
Zhongshan District,Taipei - View on map
"Stayed 3 nights for meetings right next-door building so it was very convenient floor. I didn't realize it is a Nikko chain until I saw the sign at the entrance. So you can think of small but cosy room with all kind of high-tech equipments that help you relaxing you a lot (e.g. heated toilet lol). The room by far is much larger than a similar standard room in Japan which would cost you 400 dollar per night. The bed is soft and I did sleep well. Good thing is wifi is complimentary across the hotel so you can keep up with your biz around the clock. The breakfast is very good and fresh; the Japanese restaurant is very good too. Staff is extremely friendly and super fast in attending to your need. Think about hotel maids speaking English and Japanese and Chinese to you in downtown Taipei! I didn't recall in many other 5 stars hotel in Taipei. The best thing of the hotel for me is the sauna on the top floor which is complimentary for guests: very nice, clean and quiet most of the time. The location to me is good and beautiful as Chungshan North Road is just awesome to me with full of oak-like trees and as it is just about 15' by cab to most of my other meeting venus. I didn't see any MRT station within walking distance but who cares as Taipei taxi is very cheap. Again, with less than dollars a night, I think this hotel is value for money."

"A very nice weekend in Caesar Park Hotel Banqiao! Last year until last week, I have stayed in Ceasar Park Hotel Banqiao for more than 10 nights! As a frequent customer of Ceasar Park Hotel, I would like to make this comments: Compared with other 5 stars hotels in Taipei, I think the facilities, decoration, hospitality standards are greater than many other 5 stars hotels in Taipei. I may suggest other visitor who will choose this hotel for staying, Please compare the Agoda price, also the hotel website. I think you will have a customized package with affordable price!"

Hotel Double One
Beitou District,Taipei - View on map
"i went there with my husband for my birthday trip in taiwan, we really enjoyed the hotel. there are many room types and the one we picked was on the ground floor with a small private terrace and a hotspring tub big enough for 2 persons. the room was well-appointed, quite spacious with a comfy big king size bed and wooden floor. the whole atmosphere was just quite poetic and the area was very quiet. it's in the middle of beitou hotspring area with many other hotspring hotels around. walkable distance from the subway/ mrt station. i'd definitely recommend this hotel to any couple who want to have a quiet, romantic getaway and quality together time, but not for people who want to do a lot of sightseeing in taipei city as it's quite far from taipei city (40 minutes by subway/ mrt). Cosmos Hotel Taipei
Taipei Main Station,Taipei - View on map
"The Cosmos probably has the best location of any hotel in Taipei, adjacent to Taipei Main Station. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, with check-in and check-out very quick and painless. The triple family room was super clean, with the best beds ever. The room was made up promptly each morning. The room recommendation I would make is to have electrical outlets nearer to the beds so one could charge devices while using them in the beds. The breakfast buffet was adequate, but not spectacular. Overall I would highly recommend the Cosmos, and will surely stay there again when in Taipei. "

More about Taipei

Taipei has everything vacationers are after, from charming colonial districts and historic temples to magnificent green spaces and a hip, cosmopolitan edge. Tourists divide their time between marvelous attractions like the National Palace Museum, part of a collection that originated in Beijing, and soaring sites like Taipei 101, which once held the title of the tallest building in the world. In between are a wealth of temples, memorials, and traditional markets all worth exploring. The Japanese architecture and street markets of Datong district make it a great place for visitors.

The commercial capital of Taipei is the Da-an district. This is where the best street markets are found, including venues that specialize in jade, flowers, and electronics. The university and expatriate communities found here contribute to a fresh, international atmosphere. Ximending is another of Taipei’s commercial giants, and many of its boutiques, galleries, and art-house cinemas are kept in buildings dating back to the 1930s.

Accommodation in Taipei comes in all categories with budget hostels next to the kind of franchise giants seen around the world. Getting around will be convenient with a metro system near many of the city’s hotels. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is the city’s point of entry for the majority of travelers.
