The rooms were very big and comfortable with nice bathrooms. Internet is included, which is always nice. I feel like many hotels charge for internet these days. The rooms have a french press, which was a nice touch! They had a good variety of international TV channels as well. My only issue was during check-in. My colleague and I arrived at noon and check in is not until 2pm. The girl at the desk said that we could not check in early and they had no rooms available. The hotel appeared to be pretty empty and it was a Thursday night in Taiyuan in January, not exactly peak travel season. I had to prepare for a meeting so we kept asking if there was anything they could do. Finally, they let us check into 1 room and came to get us when the other room was ready. Breakfast was pretty good, nothing spectacular. There was a good variety of western and Chinese. I asked for decaf coffee and they said they did not have any, I said no problem. A few minutes later the manager came over and said he found some. He brought over some delicious freshly brewed decaf about 10 minutes later. I thought it was very nice of him to go the extra step. Check out was a breeze and they ordered a taxi for us.
