We stayed in a family apartment which was clean, cozy and well-equipped. There were washing machine and dryer in the bathroom, water pressure in shower was strong and the water was hot. We were only there for one night so was suitable for the night however wasnt alot of room once i put the portacot up in one of the suites it would of been fine, the room was clean, tidy and everything worked well

I was leery. It looks like a motel. Not the best connotation in the US. I did not know the Tauranga area. However, I would definitely recommend this place. Rooms are large and bathrooms great. This apartment was excellent. Had everything you could need and made it all so easy. Could have benefited from ceiling fans but that would be my only gripe.

The new owners, Kedy and Alex, were so happy to greet us and tried extremely hard to please us, and they did just that. was not what I expected!! it was lovely.. room was a perfect size lovely little outdoor seating area bathroom looked like it has just been upgraded and the staff member who served me was brilliant!! it is also located so close to town and the beach. I will definitely be booking here again over the summer months

Excellent stay. Right next to the base of the Mount and the beach directly across the road. Excellent cafes next to hotel and the Main Street with restaurants, bars and boutique shopping an easy 5 min walk down the road.

this is the best accomodation you can find! genuinely friendly kiwi family as hosts, nice spa and pool, 5 min from the beach, you can't get any better!

Absolutely brilliant accomodation possibly the best bed I have ever slept on - fantastic staff - will be my only stop in Tauranga in future

The room was spacious, well appointed and very clean! The electric blankets were lovely and the kids got great use out of the heated pool even though it was the middle of winter! Lovely friendly hosts and right next door to two shopping complexes! If I needed to stay in Tauranga/Mt Maunganui again I would definitely return!

Anchorage Apartments are in a fantastic location, have great facilities with all that you could need for a wonderful stay. You are able to walk to wonderful shopping, restaurants, cafes, beaches and thermal pools. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Apartment was very clean and well appointed.

Enjoyed the stay. staff friendly happy to point out things to do places to eat. motel fresh new and had all the equipment to make it a pleasant stay. A 5 minute walk to range of restaurants and main shopping center but still felt like an oasis in the middle of suburbia.

being a frequent traveller with my family, we have stayed in plenty of motels across OZ & NZ. Aquarius motel at Tauranga was the best we had stayed at. Paula greeted us upon our reach, check in was instant. I took the Large studio room and it was huge and clean. bed was super comfy, better than couple of 5 star hotels I have stayed. value for money!...

The staff member that greeted us was absolutely lovely ,the apartment was as advertised the bed was so comfortable ther was also a heat pump and the tv had all the sky channels , however Agoda should have also advertised that ther would be lots of demolition work going on directly under your balcony and that your outlook would be a crater the size of the hotel you are...

The motel is about 5 minutes walk from the centre of Tauranga. We had a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor, it had plenty of room and there was even a lovely small garden we could use with a picnic bench. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room and motel area were kept very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Just stopped for the night in Tauranga heading north, had a very enjoyable nights stay at Tuscan Retreat. Our hostess Carol was wonderful, friendly and accommodating and provided us with a delicious home cooked brekky before our onward journey. Highly recommended for an enjoyable stay.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very clean rooms & very friendly staff. Very nice outdoors areas just outside our room, for sitting out in the sun. They could do with better heating during the winter months. There was only a little fan heater, but everything else was great...

Close to Manabus stop which brings you to Auckland/ Rotorua... Loca urban bus to Tauranga also convenient. Walkable to Mt Muanganui and beach. No supermarket in walking distance but cafe and McDonalds nearby. Rooms are fine though a bit small. A toilet and bathroom. Hostel is well looked after, including behaviour of guests (children). Owner is friendly and helpful.

Best Backpacker in Mount Maunganui just near the beach and the Mount. The staff is really nice and you can rent surf and bicycle for cheap. The 16 dorm might be a little but expensive but the place is really cool !

Friendly people even my granddaughter visit she loved it will come again
