Traveling to Japan? Find Tokachi hotels

It was a good start to our trip in Hokkaido, as Obihiro was our first place we visited. The Tokachi area had several interesting places to visit. At Dormy Inn Obihiro, the friendly staff provided us with information about where to find good food, and directions to the shopping area. The Inn had free ramen for supper which was a nice end to the day. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Book the Japanese room and surprise to the bathroom comes with private Onsen. No need to bare all with the rest of guest and paying public. ( a Onsen tax of 850yen are demand upon check in ). Rooms are ok ok and mostly are working local on short overnight stay ( mainly due to ice on road and safety ). Good midway testing point for self drive Hokkidao round island road trip folks. A BBQ grill meat shop name “和平园” serve very nice ala cart meat and local beer at value rate .

OK, so I didn't expect this kind of hotel when I looked at the price tag, but then I am not a person who's very picky and since Agoda recommended this to me, and I saw it has pretty good ratings, I gave it a try. When I arrived at the hotel, I was uncertain where to park my car, the concierge lady (was beautiful too) explained carefully in detail how I should find parking, even made a call to the car park to ensure I have a space before driving there, very attention to details. She speaks excellent English too! After I parked, which is right below the hotel, check in was fast, and then I was up in my room. I requested high floor and that's what I got too. The room is spacious in Japan standards, and the bed was too! I was hungry and so I went to grab food at one of the restaurants, it's pretty good in terms of service, taste and price. The hotel is next to the JR station, very centrally located, but yet it's very quiet and my stay was perfect! Most importantly, it's super cheap! Definitely come back next time!

Considering the price that I was paying plus the strategic location, I was surprised to see how spacious and lovely the hotel is! The selection of amenities were thoughtful and useful for family or business men. It was convenient to have a coin-operated washing machine plus dryer. Love the bed and the fast internet. I especially love the cup warmer/ induction cooker that boiled water almost instantly.. perfectly for a cup of green tea. The famous pork rice bowl (butadon) was just nearby.. this hotel was my favourite hotel in Japan so far

Hotel room (25 sq m) is the biggest I ever stayed in Japan. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Free wifi in the room. Room had good amenities, fridge, water boiler, tea, etc. Bathroom was spacious, onsen-style, where one sits on the stool with a bucket, shower head, shampoo, conditioner, body shampoo. Only negative is the double bed was small, given such a big room. Staff could hardly speak English, but managed to inform us about breakfast, the need to return hotel key whenever we leave the hotel, etc. Nice and friendly too. There was a free coffee corner at lobby. Breakfast was included, buffet style, many choices. Great breakfast I had. Overall a pleasant one night stay. Recommended to stay here.

Fancy hotel but I don t recommend if you look for a Japanese style hotel. It s a mix like the buffet or the bedroom... it sounds fake for japan. That s why I did not like a lot even if the onsen is nice. And it needs to take a 30’ ride by bus from Obihiro-Shi station. (Free if charge if you ask the ticket at the bus station). Buffet style is both western and Japanese.

In total there are 11 rooms, my 1st night the room is with an outdoor onsen was extremely nice. The Onsen is located at the upper storey equipped with toilet facilities and shower, there is a seating area where one can sip tea while jumping into the Onsen as and when you like it. The temperature of the Onsen cannot be controlled, you have to add ice or snow to lower the temperature. The hotel is very artistically done, small details were taken into consideration for the comfort of the quest. Every corner in the room is suitable for a good camera shot. The breakfast and dinner were served at the ground floor with very nice staff serving you, it is a 10 course fare and the food were very nicely and artistically displayed. of course they food are nice and fresh. The next day we stay at another room with cypress bath which is a indoor Onsen, this room is very much smaller and of course not as good as the earlier room but again all small details are there to comfort the guests. The indoor Onsen temperature could be adjusted with the adding of hot or cold water. Would recommend to friends if they have the extra money to spend and would want to experience luxury living. Really enjoy my stay at this hotel.

I was not expecting much based on the photos, but the Sasai Hotel was the only hotel in the Tokachigawa Hot Springs area that was reasonably priced and fit our budget. We loved it! The building is a bit dated, and the room is basic (but spacious) - but the onsen was amazing, the staff was very friendly, and the food was outstanding! We stayed in a Monday night, so there were not many guests, but the dinner and breakfast were full buffets with many options. The food was very high quality and many of the dishes were produced from local ingredients. The onsen itself was the best of the trip, which involved many hot springs. The waters are unique for the peet composition and we felt great after each soak. The products in the showers are also very nice. We went for three baths over the 14 hours we were there. It was an outstanding experience and value for the cost.

We stayed in the forest twin spa room that came with an open air onsen. Room was v spacious and the onsen’s source was the moor water from the the bank of the Tokachi River in Otofuke Town which Is known to be moisturizing to the skin. Bonuses were the free amenities and beers provided in the room. A good alternative to the hot spring hotel to the tokachi area if you need a hotel nearer to the obihiro JR station (about 1km away). The hotel provides 3 shuttle buses to the JR station in the morning.

Friendly people, and wonderful grounds to explore on. Clean and tidy inside, and lots of boots to pick from for all the mud that's outside. Small town a bit of a drive away, and Obihiro is a longer (beautiful) drive, but worth going to if there is an event you want to check out, or to feed squirrels in the park. We went to an organic and natural fair during the day, it was worth the trip to get some locally made cheeses, yogurt, and we even found tomatillos for the first time in Japan! What a lovely thing to bring back to Toyama, and make a nice salsa verde. :)

the hotel is located just in front of the hotel. you can go to neighbouring places for action and visits, like skiing arena in winter and nature attractions in summer. there are many restaurants in front of the station where you can eat local delicacies - grilled port, fresh fish, and fresh vegetables. the autumn-winter is the best season fantastic fish considred to be the best in japan. hokkaido is famoust for fresh and delicious fish. the hotel has a traditional hot spring public bath where you can soak yourself for hours, and enjoy suana. in winter when temperature plunges to minues c degress (sometimes minus 10), it is best to warm yourself in hot spring. breakfast is served in a buffe style, and offers a good selection of local delicacies.

What a beautiful place! Was a chilly night and the fireplace was roaring in the lounge /sitting room. The rooms were spacious and beds comfortable . The whole place was immaculately clean. The owners were so lovely and inviting. We didn't read up on the place before we came so didn't realise it had its own restaurant and I thought it more of a hostel that you can cook at. But they heated up our food for us anyway! A wonderful stay and would love to come back in the summertime! Thank you both very much !

We travelled to onsen around the world. Rooms are very basic, old and not modernized. Location of the hotel was superb so I was disappointing that the hotel has not been upgraded. Food wise was not great so I recommend dining outside. The check out time was riduculously early at 10.30 am and very unacceptable given that the room could only be checked in at 4 pm. We wil not return to this hotel for sure and we came here because other onsen hotels are fully booked.
