I have nothing but praise for this hotel, i agree the hotel is not cheap but it's a small price to pay for quality and complete relaxation ......

We really enjoyed our stay and would definately return again. The resort is definately more than 3 stars. Our room was cleaned daily and replenished with water and coffee/tea. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the free DVD rental for a relaxing evening in our room. We had a massage which was excellent though expensive considering other massage facilities on different islands. If prices were reduced then I am sure more people would use. Sometimes it is not about makin the money but making guests feel they are getting value. My only criticism of the resort is the added 10% service charge. So the prices advertised are not inclusive. The resort is rated 3 stars but in my opinion the prices would reflect 4-5 stars. The boat trips are also over priced as there are cheap longtails available 200 metres from the resort on the high street. If you want a cheaper option and good home made food visit the mini mart at the junction for longtail booking 1200bht for 3 hr trip or the restaurant opposite for Thai home made cooking. The restaurant buffers were good value and the breakfast options were fantastic. We will be back

This is a fancy hotel in Trang, probably the nicest hotel in Trang. The room was fantastic, everything you would expect from a fancy hotel. It is not in the town center so you will need to hire a local taxi in order to get to places if you don't have a car. Good breakfast buffet

Once again the staff were excellent especially the team running the bar who are all very good at their jobs. The tent is very large in size and affords views directly on to the beach, however due to its location & it being a tent you will hear everything early in the morning ( long tails & roosters ) and is probably a bit over priced compared to the cost of rooms 2 & 3. The Thai food was always well prepared and tasty. The breakfasts were always freshly prepared with plenty of instant coffee refills available. Excellent wifi and very reasonable hotel bar prices.

The staff were fantastic, they were so friendly.althoigh our favorites were Bom and Som, the massage ladies who did such a great job. We actually scheduled messages almost everyday of our stay. The food was amazing! Both the Italian and Thai food was so good, we didn't try any other restaurant on the island. Although the Thai food was always good, we noticed when a certain Thai lady chef was in the kitchen, the food was extraordinary! Best I've ever had! The Italian pasta was as good as we've had in Italy. And the cappuccinos were great treat in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay at the Coral Garden and we miss it so much now that we're home.

"big money livestock!" Backpacker types will be at home here. the local language even thickens the more closer u get to Malaysia. funny, even central Thais have to listen closely to understand the southern locals...dialect & southern twang... lol The Thurmin Thana hotel may be the cities best offering when it comes to western standards. Stay away from the spa (mezzanine floor) in the Thurmin Thana hotel. " terrible service for thai standards" u r better elsewhere. In general the accommodations r at its best..just another standard hotel..there are professional services available. (ex.) catering, business center etc. upside is also security. There is key access to activate elevators up to the rooms, heavy lobby staff and theres proud security personnel like most organized accommodations in thailand. For the price its worth it. Everything worked in my room. AC :), a view, local TV...yah and western toilet haha....i have humbly no complaints and not much expectations! The staff is great. Professional and courteous. Limited in english but can get by. Expect major english language limitations outside of the hotel. Better work on your charades game. Get a hotel business card before u depart for adventure. it will help the driver to understand going back to the "rhong rham= hotel" Thumrin Thana . The local food is where its at though. Go off grid and take a old school classic tuk tuk. Now i know how it is to be on R&R back in the day. Go get some thai/ muslim fusion cuisine. U r in a ancient country. Your in the south now!

From the minute they picked us up at the pier at Koh Mook, the Mook Lamai staff were exceptional. Tid literally took care of everything for my wife and I, and even had flowers and rose petals on our bed for our honeymoon. Nina was able to provide a complete rundown of the island for us and had a number of good recommendations for activities for us to do. Tid helped us arrange for a private longtail boat to do the Emerald cave EARLY and this was one of the best experiences we've had our entire time in Thailand. Not only did we get the sunrise on the boat, the boatman had full gear and was our guide swimming into the cave. We got to enjoy the cave alone for over 25 minute before more tourists arrived, and then the boat man took us to a local snorkeling hole completely unexpectedly. This is the type of arrangements that only Mook Lamai could provide. When we come back to Thailand, without question we will return to our family at Mook Lamai!

The food is excellent, especially the breakfast. The surroundings are very natural and unspoiled: we saw eagles just by the resort, dugongs, dolphins and sailfish from the boat trips. The long-tail boat trips are good to see some of the other Trang islands and well worth doing, especially if you like snorkeling. You can also borrow canoes from the resort or motorbikes to tour the island: there's a fishing village to see, a few other beaches, a cliff-top view point to see dugongs if you are lucky (you climb through a cave to get there). The best thing is the staff: wonderfully friendly and helpful. The only slightly disappointing thing was the beach at the resort is not so good for snorkeling but the boat trips can take you to nearby islands for that, no problem. I hope I can make it back here some time soon!

The breakfast buffet was great (amazingly delicious pancakes!), comfortable beds, and super friendly and helpful staff. The setting was also extremely relaxing, with plenty of places to relax right in front of a gorgeous view of the beach and refreshing pool to take a dip in as well. We loved how close the room was to the beach so going back and forth was very easy (especially helpful when our baby needed to take naps in the room). We had really good lunches here every day but there are also other good restaurants nearby if you want to change your setting. We loved our stay and for sure would recommend it to anyone traveling to the Trang islands!

We had a wonderful stay (4 days/3 nights) in a beautiful beach front elevated bungalow (this is a huge pro, since you have the view and the breeze)at the Pawapi Resort. We enjoyed watching the sunrise and the moonrise (higly recommended), walking through the peaceful sandy beach, and observing the amazing biodiversity which appears during the low tides; we had so much fun observing the little crabs and the starfish looking for food at the sunset low tide. Pawapi is a new project, and for that we were looking for (peaceful rest, close to the ocean and the nature), it is the best option in the island for sure. The owner was specially nice; and his dog, Brownie, was lovely. We spent a lot of time playing with her and exporing together the island. We definitely recommend this resort if you want to visit Ko Muk and the Trang islands.

We planned to stay 2 nights but we finally stayed 4 nights. Owners (young thai couple) are great. They helped with everything, helped to arrange a longtail to depart to Mook island, they drove us several times to closest city Kantang (approx 20km) to change money, buy beer, buy seafood for barbecue (they have you barbecue equipment) Although it is fun to buy seafood on aocal market, and then grill it, the food from nearby restaurant is much better. Next time, I would buy crab or lobster on the market and try to ask the restaurant to cook it for us, if they agree, it would be a seafood heaven. Although there are better beaches on the islands, the hotel was really great and I recommend you to stay there.

Unbelievably friendly and helpful staff., a big thank you and a warm hug to Cartoon, the manager of the place. The cleaning staff surprised us every day with the most imaginative and funny towel arrangements. We stayed in the beach front villa, and the sea during high tide reached a few meters from it. It was nice to follow the local fishermen from our porch, however, best for swimming is the nearby Charlie beach. The people in Koh Muk were very friendly, and the best part of our holiday was to get to know the local inhabitants. As to eating, we definitely would recommend Hilltop on the way to Charlie beach. A friendly, family-run restaurant serving large portions of delicious freshly-made Thai food. The hotel also has a wide choice of meals, the food there was delicious as well. We hope to return one day.

The entire hotel is sparsely furnished, but beautifully appointed. I reserved a superior room.(M9) My room had large windows that faced out to the street, but they didn't allow much of the street noise into the room. This room was also closest to the balcony; perfect for people watching. Everything was great until I was preparing for bed and found ants on the duvet and in my bed. I informed the front desk staff and they immediately moved me to the other superior room(M8). This room lacked the natural light and airy calm of the original room (M9) but I was just glad that the staff was attempting to keep me comfortable. I thought everything was good until going to bed the next night, ants once again were in my room. They weren't in my bed so I didn't complain, but there is definitely an ant problem at night. During the day, they were nowhere to be found. If the ant problem gets resolved, I would state, without a doubt, that Mitree House would be fantastic. The staff is great and super helpful, and the location is close to the train station and local markets. Staying in Trang - at the Mitree - was a highlight of my trip. If you get the opportunity, rent a motorbike and explore the countryside.

This a good, clean, reasonably priced, user friendly hotel a stone throw from Trang hospital. The area is nothing to write home about, but Trang tends to cop a smattering of foreign tourist, generally on their way to the islands.

Robbie & Patsuma....we stayed here in October 2017 for 1 week 3 days ...it was one of the best hotels we had stayed in whilst on vacation for 2 months....nice comfy room very quiet so had good sleeps....staff very nice and helpful....would recommend and will use again....

I have not checked if it is the only dorm on the island. But definitely, it could be a good choice for solo traveler within budget and just dont wxpect too much since there are not so many choiced on this island. The dorm is ok for a couple of days. One thing that made me feel bad is the unsteady floor which will cause strong shaking deeling to the upper bed i stayed. So if you are sensitive to any movement, try not to stay in upper bed. And also make use of the mosquito net coz u may be heavily biten by them. Also, get used to the sight of ants since you can find them everywhere, especially the toilet. No hot water for shower of course, like a lot of islands. It is a short distance to the beach, so if you choose stay they can pick you up at the pier. And the host there can also help to book boat ticket. The hostel runs a reataurant where the food is not cheap, especially drinks, a small cup of coffee costs 90B. BTW, although wifi provided, i couldnt hardly connect to it in the drom and as well my phone lost signal which was not so surprised. I met a polish boy there with his parents, and also a austrilian and a polish roommates, which are extremely friendly and nice. Hope all of them had a good trip there...FYI, there is tent to rent along the beach, but most time fully booked.

We needed a place that would be close to my wife's relative and we picked the Thumrin Hotel. It is the little sister of the much larger Thumrin Hotel which is not in the most central location. The hotel was old but very clean. It had a lift which made it easy to get to our 6th floor room. The only issue was no restaurant on the premises but that was acceptable since we had a rental and my wife and her sister had already picked out breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurants, Trang/south Thailand style. Parking was available in a lower garage parking floor and was big enough for most of the car of their guests. Another note, if you ask for any additional pillows (there were 3 in the room for the two of us), the hotel would charge for it. Check-in and check-out was fast and simple. If you had to mail something off (like we did for some of the items we bought), the post office is right across the street, no hunting. And of course, the ever present 7/11 was a few doors down and a Bangkok Bank was just across the street too. The hotel is situated a half a block from the train station and every evening, the night market is open there. It was a most reasonable place to stay.

Love this place. Conveniently located right across from the train station and travel agencies. An older building that’s been renovated nicely. Simple, yet stylish without crossing over into the realm of overwrought hipster boutique that so many places in Thailand have become. The stained wood doors and thunderstorm-blue wall paint complement each other really well. The bathroom is all lacquered concrete with new equipment and is very clean. Staff is great, accommodating and friendly, but I took one star off because they’re still working on their English (and haven’t really figured out how to fry an egg). Likewise the facilities - very good internet, and a convenient little fridge in the room, but my air conditioner is a little overwhelmed by this tropical Trang heat, and the bed, while otherwise very comfortable, features the Southeast Asia-standard near-rock-hard mattress. These are very minor complaints, though. Overall, ChomTrang is an excellent place to stay.

The rooms are great, the restaurant and bar are excellent. The only problem being its location. You really need transportation here as the beach directly in front of the resort is not really swimmable and the sand is much better down the road. If you have transportation, this is an excellent place to stay. Be warned, when the sun goes down, the mosquitos come out. The staff is very attentive to this and lights coils and supplies a high quality natural repellent. There is light at the end of the tunnel as they seem to go away after the initial surge.

We have stayed at the Libong Beach resort before and loved it and we returned. We had a fantastic stay, the rooms were great as always and food fantastic. Cuisine option is limited to Thai but its wonderful with spectacular seafood dishes. The staff were excellent and friendly as always. There was a bit of a confusion on the room type - We had booked a beachfront bungalow through agoda but that was not available when we got to the resort. They put us in another comfortable room with a partial sea view and then changed us to a full sea facing room the following day. The confusion in the booking seemed to be a comunication lapse between bookings done directly through the resort vesus those done through agoda and the availability is possibly not always synced. We had no problem since they gave us an equally good alternative, but would be good to ensure this mix up does not happen.

Clean hotel with firm beds and perfect for a day or two in Trang. Don't expect a resort or breakfast in the morning. What you can expect is efficient check-in and check-out, a very clean room, a firm bed and restful sleep. Don't be put off by the location as it is behind the train station. There are only 2 passenger trains a day which arrive and depart during waking hours. It is an easy walk to the center of town through the sleepy rail station. In front of the rail station is a night market with clean food. Exiting the front of the rail station if you turn right the second store after the beauty salon is a great coffee shop called "Sin O Cha". Who needs a hotel breakfast if you allow sufficient time (11 am flight to Bangkok and the breakfasts in town start at 0630). Trang is famous for approximately 70 dim sum restaurants The hotel can arrange a Trang style Tuk Tuk to pick you up for a trip to the famous Ruean Thai (075 219 342), one of the city’s best-known dim sum eateries. In his cavernous restaurant located slightly outside downtown Trang, early risers are blessed with a selection of more than 40 steamed dim sum items. “We make all our dim sum by hand,” states Khun Jaa the owner. The Tuk Tuk will take you back to the hotel to collect your bags and the take you to the airport. All in all a great morning and it is a far better experience than a hotel breakfast.

On arrival we met the Professor/ owner of Riviera Beach Resort on a rare visit. He and his daughter gave us warm welcome and told us about their endeavours on the Island, in helping the local community/ raising awareness of the preservation of Mooks' marine wildlife/ environment. We had booked a room inland but were offered a discounted upgrade to sea view room. The room was large + 10 seconds from beach. Bed was v.comfortable/ shower room clean + spacious. There was a sofa, shelves and desk but a wardrobe would have been a good addition. The food was good at both breakfast/ dinner. The dinner menu is limited, but the dishes are clearly well practiced. They specialise in sizzling hot plates (personal fave was massaman curry). Breakfast was good and we were kindly offered Anita the manager's own baked beans even though they weren't on the menu. As vegetarians (and from the Uk) this was a lovely offering. In terms of feedback, it should be noted that the 'English Breakfast' and 'American Breakfast' should be the other way around (we only really eat pancakes once a year in UK!) The location couldn't be better. It's next to the best cocktail bar on the island (claiming to make the best Margarita in the world?!) and just up from Sugars' which is a great alternative for breakfast/lunch. Most significantly it's on a picturesque quiet and beautiful beach. The village around the corner and area to the left of the pier is also worth visiting. Other feedback- It would be good if bicycle hire from the hotel was cheaper (was more expensive than scooter hire). Maybe the music during breakfast could be a bit more fitting/ changed from time to time as was the same every morn, and they should make more of a feature of their environmental endeavours. It's a bit underplayed at the moment, when personally I think it should be something really prominent. Riviera Beach resort is perfectly located and run by some of the most hospitable people we met in Thailand.

We stayed in one of their bamboo bungalows for 4 nights and were mostly pleased with everything. The beach in front of the lodge was not good for swimming since so many long tail boats docked there but there's a nice beach not too far away. The restaurant serves delicious food and there's a nearby bar that we dubbed "the pirate bar" run by Chest (pronounced "Shay") and his wife that is amazing! Chest also takes people out snorkeling (which we did) and I highly recommend! This was the highlight of our trip for sure. One of the great downsides, in my opinion, of Koh Mook is that it is LITTERED with trash. Endless amounts of trash everywhere. It's very sad. The staff of coco lodge allowed us to refill our water bottles with a small payment since one of the biggest sources of trash are waterbottles. A great clean up really needs to happen on Koh Mook so that people continue to want to visit and so that the marine life doesn't struggle with the endless amounts of plastic in the ocean.

Great place to stay in Trang. Room was spacious and very clean. Convenient location to walk everywhere you need . I’d recommend spending a few nights in Trang (not just to pass thru to the islands), as it’s a great little town! Staff was so friendly and helpful. Bathroom was downstairs which was a bit inconvenient, but it was always really clean.

There are lot of travel agency around Trang station and morning market just behind the hostel so you can enjoy cheap tasty thai style street food in the morning. There is Seven-eleven 20m from the hostel. Our room had a big balcony we enjoyed watching how local people live here. Staffs are friendly, well english speakers, we got 1L bottle of water for each when we checked in there. -This was unexpected thing for budget room!

First off trang is pretty dead for travellers! But as a place to see real thailand its pretty good.... much cheaper to do tours from here than the touristy areas, the hostel organised everything really smoothly. Clean, decent location and a nice place to stay!

I would really recommend this place. We had a family bungalow which was ok. I ordered in advance that they should sort out the transfer from the airport in Trang. It was a great feeling that as we arrived in Trang airport late the evening the whole transport worked smoothly. So very good value for the money if you can live without warm water and a swimming pool. One bad thing is that they never got the internet connection to work depite we where there during 6 days. It seems that they didn't have the skills or real interest to get it

We had a great stay here. The location is really close to the pier, restaurants, and convenience stores but a bit of a walk from Charlie Beach. The bungalow was basic but very clean. We we're very happy with it, planned to stay there 2 nights and would have loved to stay there longer.

They care a lot so that you are happy. I ate in their bakery my dinner but IT was not my best meal ever. However breakfasts were best I had in Thailand, you can choose from the menu and they cook for you!!! Awesome as IT is included. I am gluten intolerant so they even agreed to give me rice instead of bread:) very delicious juices to breakfasts. Overall I RECOMMEND.

You pay for what you get here. Rooms are clean - fresh sheets, bins new, clean towels, as you would hope. But also expect mosquito nets with holes, some bad smells, dusty rooms and insects etc. But hey you don't want to deal with nature, don't stay in a Bamboo Hut and be prepared to pay more than 15 per night! The location is up a bit in the hills, its near the 'cool' bar Ting Tongs, its a 10 minute down the hill to the sunset beach location Charlies. And its a 20 min walk to the village. The massage next door is AMAZING! they go hard, so be prepared. The food at Bamboo Hut is really really good. Some of teh best we have had during our Thai trip. We had some lovely lazy afternoons in the bamboo tree-house vibes restaurant, listening to the beautiful sounds of nature, and contemplating life. If you want and experience, this is a lovely one.

Beautiful, comfortable, lovely staff. I only have good things to say about the hostel. Ive rarely been in such a pretty and well decorated hostel, feels very homie. They gave me really good local delicacies for breakfast plus some to take on the train with me! Totally recommend

Great place to stay on the beautiful island of Koh Mook. We enjoyed watching the wildife from our balcony and listening to the jungle sounds at night. The nearby beach is stunning and there are a few good, cheap places to eat within a few minutes walk. Try the small restaurant with the Happy Christmas banner (we were there in March!) for a delicious banana pancake at breakfast - it's big enough for 2 people! - or a great Masaman curry in the evening.

We loved this hotel. It was clean, comfortable (Air conditioning was a nice change for us!!), and affordable. There is filtered water available (huge bonus) and the staff is so friendly and helpful. They even drove us to the train station for free so we could catch our train to Chumphon. When in Trang again, we will definitely be staying here.

Yai was so personable, a great guy with a positive outlook. We really appreciated him showing us around in his sidecar and chatting with him about local life and his future plans during our short stay on Koh Mook. We really appreciated him showing us around in his sidecar and chatting with him about local life and his future plans during our short stay on Koh Mook. (We hope one day you will plant a durian tree and have many fruits to eat!) Yai helped us buy a ticket to Trang and recommended us where to eat and told us about a local plant that’s good for jellyfish stings. Very good quality mosquito nets and Yai also gave us a coil to burn which was helpful, we didn’t get bitten in the night but we did get some bites when we first arrived...so be prepared with bug spray! Very cool to see the cashew nuts attached to the fruit, first time to see this for us. Beautiful island and great place to stay, would recommend!

When the coffee shop closes at 7, you can still use it as your living room to hang out and use the wifi. The location is really good with only minutes from the closes nightmarket. The only small drawback as I can see it, if it really matters, is that there is no wifi in the rooms. The place is small (I think only three rooms) with very friendly staff and Dear (our contact) helped us immensely to make the best of our time in Trang. I highly recommend this place!

- Staffs are very nice and helpful and always gave information to us. - Location is quite good, can walk from train station. Opposite from famous Roti, local food and drinks so you could have many choices to eat. A bit noisy from vehicles as near the road until late midnight but still good option to choose. - ABF is simple.

There were no reviews anywhere on this place. It has a lot of charm and some nice features. The swimming pool (which was under repair for the 3 days we were there) looked nice. The food for dinner and lunch had many options at their restaurant. The food was good. The staff was very accommodating for our group's needs with the food. Breakfast was a different story. When there was a buffet it had very minimal offerings. The larger "container" rooms had good AC and were adequate size but very bare bones. They also did not have hot water for showers. The bathroom was very small and poor quality. The traditional Thai cabins were attractive wooden structures with a larger bed. The gaps around the doors required a mosquito net over the bed. The bathroom is attached as an enclosed outside feature. If you enjoy an open to nature experience, you might see this as a plus. There are two size options for meeting facilities. Both are nice and come with up to date technical equipment. The grounds for this resort are nicely landscaped with ponds and areas to walk or ride bicycles. Horseback rides are also available but under strict limitations on what you can do. There is also a public open air bar on the premises. The staff was not accustomed to foreigners but we're very friendly and attentive. I don't think we found anyone who spoke conversational English. They do not take American Express for payment. If you are looking for a more traditional Thai vacation experience at a cheaper price for the Trang area, you might like this. But some of the primitive aspects might reduce your overall experience. I would rate this as a two-star facility overall with some one-star and three-star mixed in. I have stayed at a lot of places in south Thailand for many years with groups to compare to this one to. Easy to find but not close to anything.

I was very disappointed with this but the staff offers me the refund and he said that he was sorry about this. Anyway, I'm not quite sure if this the place's fault or Agoda's fault but it was a bummer because I drove a very long way to get there and the place for me to rest for the night was not available. Plus, the first impression of the place wasn't good, the actual building looks way older compared with the pictures that they were showing.

You feel a little exposed but I and my group had no big problems with this. Next day we asked if we could take hotel towels to the Hotspring and we could take as many as we liked. Breakfast is simple but considering the very good price, well done. When we took off I even got a New Years present from June which was much appreciated. I would like to come back here. Yhanks very much June and team. Do not look for Malin house if you are searching because the name is only listed in Thai but acoording to the pictures you find on the internet you will recognize her guesthouse.

Sivalai (on the east side of island) is beautiful but dominated by the resort. Charlie is large, offers kayaking and has several beach restaurants. Plus, it’s the right side for sunset and only 10 minutes from Mookies. Note that as of early 2018, Charlie Beach Resort is closed until further notice, so don’t anticipate using their facilities as in the past. The Mookies team was friendly and helped us book taxis, deliveries of large water (less plastic) and our ferry transfer to Koh Jum. Rooms were large, and although we did not have AC, they were comfortable at night with the fan. Best of all, we got to know Wan and her family a bit (owners and staff) and ended up volunteering with her for a Trash Hero beach cleanup event on the island. We would return to Koh Mook and stay at Mookies Bungalows again!

Pros : This is the cheapest and best for the budget room that you can find in Trang City. 400 m from Trang Railway station ,makes it convenient to move around.Room is very spacious with private bathroom and aircon and the room price is 430 THB. Con: Nothing

I did find a place to rent a scooter which allowed this trip to be rescued. Hopeless wanting to walk anywhere interesting in the vicinity of the hotel. Had my laundry done here at a greater cost than I usually pay in Bangkok. No sign of any independent laundry places anywhere near the hotel.
4-star hotels in Trang

The sevenseas resort was the last stop of our Trang tour and the best was definitely left until last. Working in Singapore we frequently travel south east Asia and felt that Thailand was now overpopulated, commercialized, and lacking fish ..... Sevenseas defies all of the above and directly in front of the hotel we snorkelled with fish on par with the Philippines ........

I have been through Pak Meng Beach on the way to the Trang Islands, but I had never stayed before. The Ya Talay Resort a classy newer addition here.

Traveler impressions of Trang
Mostly like every other Thai town . a bit of atmosphere around the trainstation . A small Park and a shoppingcenter .
.. Not much else to see ... basically no cultural attractions.
The city is very clean and rich of cultural/history. People are nice and helpful. The foods we have tried were excellent both in the hotel and outside.
However, tourists need to prepare yourself for the hot and humid weather of the city. If you come to trang do not forget to hire a "Tuk Tuk" (3 wheels vehicle) to take you for sightseeing around this beautiful city.
Trang has a very beautiful green emorald sea, worth to go visit. but price for food is extreemly high.
Tang is very interesting city, nice island and beach, during vegetarian cerebration in Mid of October every year is good time to visit.
there is a parade and stuff very cool to see.
This comments is for all place in Trang (city beach cave ...) You will love this place if you have time please come to visit here You will love the beach .
.white sand clear water You will love the cave/ mountain .. feel fresh You will love the city .. mix culture
the nature is still ok and so different from Phuket where you can see so many tourists influx and make you inconvenient.
Very Thai busy city - great markets - we especially liked the occassional ones at the station and a huge second hand one in the city centre We had some fantastic food in a dim sum restaurant and bought cooked chicken in advance to take onto the night train (the train food is not good.
.......)
Buy one day or two day trip and see many beautiful islands in Trang. Tour is cheap and comfortable. Lunch and diving are included.
Trang is definitely worth a visit or two, as there are plenty of interesting things to do. Governor´s house, a canopy walk in a rainforest near Trang, very good southern food (Moo Yang - crispy pig.
.)nice and friendly thai people. It´s good to go there and get a glimpse of how Thailand tourism might have been 30 years ago.
Very simple and no-frills. Trang is what Thailand looks like for the Thais. A short distance (30 mins by van) away from the beach and 4 islands (including Ko Muk), for cheaper rates than from Krabi.
Some good nature hikes, including a very good waterfall hike at Sai Rung. Not much shopping to speak of. Very little English spoken outside the tour agencies. Good for the adventurous traveller on a budget, looking to visit the 4 islands while avoiding tourist hotspots like Krabi.
Took a boat through a cave and saw rock formations (stalagtites.) That was fun. The town itself seemed to roll-up the sidewalks at dark and in the evenings seemed like a ghost-town.
Perfect!!! It's still quite compare to Phuket or Krabi... Trang Sea is still natural and beach is still quite, not too much tourists.
. Try Amphur Kan Trang, quite area with a lot of good seafood.. In Trang city, many good restaurant you must try
city of trang is far away, but pakmeng beach have almost all you need for your simple low cost holiday
We went to Robinson for food and grocery, get all we need there. On the way to our resort, we passed by the great Dugong Fountain at the city center, very amazed by this sculpture.
In the Friday evening, we saw a lot of night streets selling local dishes. Bought a lot of mango pulut thai, absolutely delicious. Aside from the city sightseeing, we also visited Rajamangala Aquarium Trang.
You will enjoy with the foods (especially Dim Sum in the morning) and sight seeing in Trang. There are many place to visit in town and also the beaches.
Very nice island are recommend to visit such as Morakot, Nhai, and Mook.
Trang city center has shopping centres and restaurants, a railway station and airport. There is a new big c supermarket with a good food choice and outdoor eating area on the 2nd floor in the big c eating area.
Robinsons is only a songthaew away as is big clock.
Trang itself is not worth stopping in but there is alot in the area. Go on to Nakhorn for lots of history and crafts or Pattalung for the outdoors.
We just spent 3 hrs in grand waiting for hour mini van to take us to the pier. The travel agents were very helpful and since the minivan was full they dropped us to the pier in their car.
I thought Trang was not that interesting. I would use it as a 1 night stop over to go to the Islands.
Hardly anybody speakes English here. It looks like only the owners of the accommodation we stayed at
Trang is a few province in Thailand where it have all things here. Trang have beautiful waterfall, jungle trekking, cave, sea, island, diveside for snockle and scuba, unique culture festive and rich of delicious food.
Trang have convinience transportation by Airplane, Bus, Train and Pier.
Very much people and lot´s of restaurants! Crowded and not so nice area! Not relaxing area only noisy and not so good beaches! I didn't like it! I like the island of trang!
trang is a local city, but have a good seaside. their sea is a excited places, very beautiful sea, and if you are interested a snorkeling trip you must be here.
the important places is morakot cave, you will never seems it before. but if you are welling to have some fun in trang city is imposibble.
On a sunday night when we stayed there were three food markets to choose from and a number of wet/dry markets to visit.
Just don't come to Trang during rainy season. Overall is good for traveler. Good people, peaceful city, delicious food, cheap budget.
Trang city will be your hub stop if you are headed to any of the surrounding islands for adventure, Koh Mook, koh Kradan etc.
(aprox 50min drive from Trang city to the coast/boat ) The south is not anything like the melting pot of Thailand 'BKK'
JUST ANOTHER CBD, NOTHING SPECTACULAR, THE BEACHES AROUND 30KM AWAY ARE WORTH A LOOK WITH THE ROCK FORMATIONS BUT THE BEST THING ABOUT TRANG IS THE EXCELLENT ROADS IN AND EVEBN BETTER 'OUT' OF THE PLACE
Good place for your vacation, variety of place, food and style to travel. Once in your life, I recommend you to go and travel there
Nothing special. The most interesting thing is marketplace in the middle of a street in the evening.
A bustling, noisy, friendly city in which it is easy to get lost, so leave plenty of time for finding your way again when you are exploring on foot or in the car.
the one-way systems are complicated and there are very few direction signs to assist travellers. When you need to take a break, stop off for a while in one of the city's beautifully kept parks.

More about Trang
Long stretches of sandy beaches are the main attractions of this area, and the centrally-located Pak Meng Beach is no exception. Most of the hotels in Trang are well-versed in the typical needs of their vacationing guests, so the knowledgeable staff are often a great resource for information on things such as snorkeling and diving guides, and where to go for the most authentic local fares with the best views of the sea. Koh Kraden is particularly beautiful, and much of it is set aside as a national parkland. The reefs of Koh Kraden are open to divers, and hotels in Trang can arrange everything from PADI certification courses to multi-day excursions on live-aboard boats.
Adventurous travelers should be sure to explore one of the area’s many interesting destinations, such as taking a guided kayak trip through Tham Le Khao Kop Cave. Of course, the most popular activities are all centered around the sea, be it swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing on the beach.
Find out where the hotels, resorts, and other attractions of Trang can be found by exploring the interactive map on this page, and start planning the perfect trip to this interesting city.
