Nice place to stay- staying near the beach is better than booking accommodation on the hwy and means not having to drive to the beach on busy hot days.
The Pavilion cafe near the yacht club is fantastic for breakfast or lunch.
Enjoyable walking around the CBD with heritage buildings and wide streets. Nice cafes and pubs serving great food including The Warrnambool RSL which we found has great food at very reasonable prices.
Out of town is Tower Hill which has been formed by volcanic activity 30,000 years ago. Has a really interesting Information Centre, walks, emus, wallabies, koalas, birds and interesting geological features.
Warrnambol is a big city in the area, very old for AUstralian standard and has a very beautiful lay out for maritime enthusiasts.
The breakwater and pier is unique and the beaches are friendly. The town people are friendly and the city is very clean and well kept. The look outs are well designed and the Middle Island penguin sanctuary is very interesting. A very relaxing city.
must go place...lot of attraction such as Logan's beach, flagstaf maritime muzeum, the scenary was amazing!
Well planned urbanisation while maintaining its heritage. Beaches around, Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village, playgrounds, churches, etc
Warrnambool is a nice city to stay for 1 or 2 nights on the trip of the grat ocean road, but for my advice a litlle bit too touristy.
The Breakwater and the visit at the harbour are a "must "to see.
It was the first time staying in Warrnambool and found it to be very relaxing with fabulous fish meals.
