This is a brand new hotel in Xiamen. The location is great for both tourist sights (nearby Piano Island is accessible through the ferry boats) and gift shopping. Try the peach pastries at their buffet style breakfast! We also ordered room service and the staff was very professional and helpful (although I still don't think it's a good idea to order a burger while in China - they just don't get the ground meat patty right). While the view was not great, we loved the lobby for having an afternoon cocktail or coffee. Truly this hotel felt like a 5 star experience.

This hotel is sheer class from the moment you walk into it until the moment you leave. there are photos of Country leaders having holidays here, and I can see why. Comfortable, spacious rooms, friendly, courtious staff, sumptious breakfast menu. The loction is superb with views of the sea, and a forest walk, ideal for a couple of days rest on a busy business trip. the Gym's and swimming pools are well equipt and heavily staffed. The only gripe was that the outdoor pools had no attendants at any of them. There are no sun lounger facilities at most of them, whilst the main pools had built in bars, these are not stocked and there are no bar staff. It seems strange at a hotel where there must be 500 staff -there were none available at the outdoor pools. However this would not put me off going back the next time I am in Xiamen.

The staff was very helpful especially Mr. Aucus whom has provide us with a lot of valuable informations to get around Xiamen. Hotel location was fantastic with bus stops at close proximity, the response to request was swift eg. I asked for a shaver when i was on my way down for breakfast I get it when I came up from the restaurent. When I request for help when the wifi was not working well within 5 minutes a technician was at our door with a router. Overall the experinece was very good.

Rooms are not big (but I heard it's the same for most hotels in Xiamen) but very clean and nicely decorated. It has all you need. Breakfast was good. Hotel is next to the lake and centrally located. Pretty good value for money and will come back again. Note: I booked via Agoda but when I check in, I heard if you book directly via hotel the price is similar, so if you want to get points for hotel programe or Marco Polo Club etc. you might want to double check price for booking directly with hotel.

Overall excellent. I have been to this hotel before many years ago when it was the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Millennium have done an excellent job of renovation. Only criticisms: 1. The hotel could have provided a little more up-to-date local tourist information . Getting to Xiamen's star attraction (Gulangyu Island) is no longer as easy as most of China guide books suggest. "Non-local residents" (foreigners) now have to go to the International Cruise terminal which is some kilometers away from the central piers opposite the island. We did not discover this until our taxi driver warned us it would be impossible to get ferry tickets on the morning we planned to go by just turning up at the central ferry pier. The tickets need pre-booking. There is a touting system in operation at the central piers . It is probably not illegal because they lead you to an official travel agent where for a tour fee of RMB90. you can book a tour leaving within about an hour. However they take you to Gulangyu via a round about route by taking two ferries, the first to the mainland opposite Xiamen Island. An elaborate scheme but it means you don't get to the Gulangyu until about 2 hours later..... so frustrating when you can see the island just a 5-minutes hop on the direct ferry for local residents. You are also dropped off of Gulangyu at a "Inner" pier which is on the other side of the island from the main drag. Its about a 15 -20 minutes walk to the other side, but well worth seeing the sites on the way. 2. Minor criticism of a management issue: if you have a a drink or snack in the lounge/bar area after the coffee shops closes ( 10 pm) , they chase you to pay at about 11pm when there is a change of staff for "cashing up for that shift" even though you haven't finished your drink or snack and before you might even wish to order more food or drinks. A rather odd system but not the junior staff's fault; they apologized for the inconvenience.

The hotel name sounds a little bit shabby at first time. But after checking in, the room is really splendid, at least the same level with Ramada or Hilton inn. Actually, the hotel used to be the city's Higher Level Official Resorts and once served Deng Xiaoping and received a 99/100 points from him. The location is awesome witn the best seafood restaurant XIAO YAN JING within 5 minutes walk. 10 Minutes taxi to Xiamen University.

The Jingmin Central Hotel Xiamen is a very pleasant hotel for the business traveler. It is only minutes from the airport and the hotel me at the airport upon my arrival and scheduled me for their shuttle on departure. There are 3 excellent restaurants in the hotel, Chinese, Japanese and Western. In addition, there is 24 hour food service in the hotel lobby lounge. We had an excellent hamburger there. The free WiFi works very well in the room as well at the lobby lounge and is reasonably fast. The hotel is within walking distance of upscale shopping at a western style mall but a fairly long cab ride to the business district near the water. The price is reasonable. We will definitely book this hotel on our next trip to Xiamen.

As I was in Xiamen for business, I was sadly unable to enjoy this lovely new hotel further than my room for the night. I was told that Kempinski is the newest hotel in Xiamen which I had not expected, hence I could not find any fault in the room which was completely spotless. I was personally shown to my room and they had left some welcome drinks and snacks on the coffee table to welcome me - again sadly it was so late I couldn't enjoy them. The toilet and shower was separate to the bathroom. The bathroom featured a retractable blind that rolls up to reveal a glass window so that you can enjoy the view of the city below (again I'm sad to say I discovered it too late). The marble floor in the foyer and bathrooms felt great to walk on. The bed was extremely comfortable. As for the rest of the hotel, the foyer was not overly large and I did not see any guests in the bar. I suspect most visitors are in Xiamen for business or transit. In terms of location I am unsure whether it is convenient for holidaying guests however it definitely would not be easy to walk to nearby shops from here. I would expect taxi is the way to go. I will surely return to Kempinski again and I hope that their rooms will remain as per my memory of it when I arrive.

I found out that this is HaiCang is a relatively new area in Xiamen, so there is a little distance from city center. It's about 30-40 min drive. If you don't mind the distance, this is a nice hotel. It's not the same as DoubleTree hotels in the U.S. This is a 22-floor building with all the amenities.I particularly love the view that overlook the ocean. There are a lot of beautifully built structure in the surroundings. It also has a nice walking path around. There are shopping malls around there, but the one we went to is not all occupied. It may be due to relatively new area.

i've live here for 3 days for marathon, and it was nice, really nice, first of all, it's location, very easy to find, and it's surround by the park, very beautiful scene. And it's convenient for you to go anyplace famous in Xiamen, all takes about 5-10 minutes by taxi. The staff here are really nice and helpful, i have the dinners here for 2 days as well, the service and the food is impressive,too.

The Xiamen Harbour Hotel Indigo is directly across a narrow strait from the smaller island Gulangyu, which is the best part of a lovely city. The main ferry docks are all either directly across the highway or a five minute walk away, but make sure you ask the staff which one to go to because it may not be the closest one to the hotel or the one you would expect. The hotel is warmly recommended. The TELEPHONE NUMBER is +86 592 3361666 and the name in Chinese is 厦门海港英迪格酒店 Xiàmén Hǎigǎng Yīngdígé Jiǔdiàn. Get a high floor with a harbour view.

This is the best hotel out of 3 we have booked thru Agoda for this trip. First,because the owners(husband and wife team),who are also the staff, are fast in attending to our concerns, from check-in to check-out, toilet issue, etc. Second, when we were lost in Xiamen on our first day, they went out of their way to pick us up using their car at no charge. They could have just left us there or instructed us to take a taxi but they did a very personal service of picking us up and bringing us safely to the hotel. Third, the owners/staff may not be able to speak english but we were able to understand each other with the help of google translate. Fourth, the room was clean, hotel is homey, have a nice garden,quiet,very close to bus stop,and have nearby local restaurants which are very affordable and delicious and it is also near stores where you can buy your needs like water, food, etc. We just feel safe in this place and we feel like the owners are like family.

We stayed at the Louis China hotel for one night, having initially booked for two. The staff was very accommodating in allowing us to adjust our reservation at the last minute. The location one gulangyu was very convenient, but note you will need to take a ferry to get back and forth from Xiamen which can be a crowded and lengthy experience during the day (easier in the evening). The hotel has an enjoyable bar with good beer selection and friendly staff. Breakfast was home made and tasty, with excellent espresso drinks.

I booked this place on Agoda, the reviews were not that good. It was an inexpensive booking and reading other reviews mediocre was actually pretty good for Xiamen. I was not expecting anything amazing. Going in undersold, I was ready for anything. Door lock fails. After a day exploring, I find myself locked out. Luckily it was not too late, and they had a handyman up to check things out right then and there. Turns out it is kaput. They book me into another room. Outstanding customer service. Did not even have a chance to finish a beer. Next Day. Return from another day exploring. Sit at the end of the bed, crack a tall can, turn on Chinese Socialist realist programming on the tube. Light fixture cover crashes onto the bed right next to me. What.. I laughed and laughed. Anyway, it was so poorly made that the whole fixture needed replacing. They did it while I was out the next day. No grief! Great desk staff! Need more review space! ;-)

nice,modern hotel wit clean rooms and good service. nice french restauranton the ground floor. part of the staff speak english at the lobby.located close to city centre,ferry terminal and xiamen attractions (about 11rmb for taxi to get to the most places from the hotel). staff helps you to get a taxi by the entrance of the hotel and speak with driver for directions. maps and chinese translation of most important places available in the hotel.just 15 min away from gulangyu island.

I requested for non-smoking room, but the type of suite that I requested is not available on the non-smoking floor. So, they put me in a regular floor. After I went to the room, the front desk called me to see if I want to change in case I feel the smoking smell is too strong. As a matter of fact, there is no smell, so I stayed in the room. This shows their attention to details. If I have to pick some problem, it has to do with the difficulty of getting a taxi. The way the hotel is situated, no taxi will cruise in, so either you go out to the street, or the bell boy will help you. Maybe it's the problem with Xiamen, it is always difficult to get a taxi.

we are 6 people in 3 beds. we arrived way over midnight but the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. the hotel is very affordable. breakfast is 18rmb and has a great assortment of typical chinese breakfast. it is centrally located. so easy to get to the shopping area in chong san lu. it is walking distance to xiamen university. it is 8rmb to ride to the ferry to go to gulangyu. if you stay in the top room, you even get view of the lake. probably the best valued hotel i've been in. if you are not into the all-in hotel with spa, gym, pool and the works. and just want a clean, comfy, centrally located and friendly place. this is the best choice.

i stayed in the crowne plaza hotel paragon xiamen for a week on business to attend a conference. the hotel provides very good conference facilities and service as well as the hotel is also good for the business traveller but also to families in my point of view. the location is very good in the midle of the city exactly in the business and shopping district (e.g., carrefour just round the corner). the hotel has direct access to a luxury shopping mall (of course prices are high). it is just 20 minutes by taxi from xiamen international airport, and the hotel is surrounded by nice gardens (something to appreacite when in china). there are fitness center and spa facilities on-site. in addition, there is a very nice outdoor pool which i did not try because of the winter weather conditions. finally, the hotel provides free internet access (wifi) in lobby area. service is excellent by all staff-members. however, one of the guys under the concierge desk can hardly english and when asking of an indian restaurant, he actually sent us to an indonesian (yes, it's china but this hotel is actually 5 star hotel so). the room was excellent; new, spacious, clean, modern, and with stunning views of the city (high floor). the washroom impresive. the cleaning staff does a superb job! all this in my view is particularly important when in china. the buffet breakfast was great. one is offered with a large selection to choose from chinese, japanese or international. fresh fruits and vegetable are provided as well as fresh juices selection (e.g., watermelon). i love chinese and japanese breakfast so i actually enjoyed.
