"We had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is located in a lively area. The room was small but contained everything we needed including a fridge, TV, table and somewhere to sit for all of us (in contrast to the British Travelodge chain which has one solitary chair). The Japanese spa was clean. Breakfast was good. The staff were very helpful with when we wanted to go and watch the local football team play. "

"It’s a 15mins walk away from Yamaguchi station, quite a distance away and not very convenient. Not many shops nearby too and roads are almost pitch dark when night comes. Can be a little scary. Hotel is very old and run-down as well. The lifts were perpetually filled with cigarette stench and the walls of the room are so thin i could hear every word the guest staying beside me was saying. But i really have to commend the staff! They are all extremely helpful. I couldn’t understand Japanese very well and they tried their very best to explain in English and help me get what i wanted. "

"This Toyoko Inn in Shin-Yamaguchi-eki is right off the RR within 5 minutes walk. The staff as usual is very helpful and friendly. Although we had a "do not Disturb" the days we were there (five days) the hospitality ladies always left the towels and water in a bag for us. Boy, were they friendly and all smiles the whole time there."

"As a world traveler, this is the worse treatment we’ve experienced our 30 years of travel. We were insulted due to their racial and physical profiling. The two male evening management staff on 7-8 Nov were extremely rude and demanding because they assumed we were foreigners although we are half Japanese and residence of Japan. They referred to us as “gaijin” or foreigners. When we asked how to lower the room temperature down because we could not sleep due to the warm temperature, they refused to accommodate us. Needless to say, they both definitely need customer service training. We don’t recommend the Comfort Hotel Shin Yamaguchi!!"
