"We stayed at Shuhokan for 2 nights while in Yufuin. We would definitely stay here again! The staff was very helpful with english speaking. The rooms were quite large and comfortable with a small refrigerator, furo style tub, and wi-fi in the room. Breakfast cost was additional and although a little expensive it was well worth it. It is difficult to find breakfast on the streets or in town. The hotel is located a little away from the "main" street. It took 5 minutes by taxi from Yufuin Station and about a 10 minute easy walk. The hotel is surrounded by rice fields with excellent view of Mt. Yufu. There are foot baths just outside the front door of the hotel, and the hotel has bicycles for rent with very scenic almost no traffic bicycle paths along the river. The hotel staff were most happy and helpful with anything we could ask of them. Very friendly and accommodating. They provided a free shuttle ride to the train station. This was a very pleasant hotel even if it was more of a "modern" style building of glass and brick. It was very comfortable in all ways, spacious and a great place to stay. It does not feel closed in or crowded like in the center of town."

"Very new and very nice. Excellent location and the owner communicated well to us. Before staying I found some comments saying it was difficult to drive to the location. I had some concerns as I rented a big car (Elgrand). However, the concern was not relevant and I had absolutely no issue making the turn into the road. I love the private hot-spring available. Overall I enjoyed the 3-night stay here. The only minor concern was we needed a few minutes to discover the box containing the key, which was right next to the door but is at an location quite easily overlooked. Another minor point was we were not able to find the place to dump our garbage and hence we put the garbage bags at the place we thought should put there. Suggest the owner to let know more clearly we should we put the garbage bags....and the key.... Only a few minute leisure walk to the Lake. We love Kotonone Mai Suzu and will stay back here in our next stay in YuFuYin."
