No english speaking people, dirt and chaos on the streets, constant building site. The most impesive-trips to nearby national parks, spectacular views, very crowdy in peak time-long queues for the biggest attractions, Try to avoid most advertised sites.
Everywhere you can find spectacular views without bumping on people on every step. Great area for trekking and long walks for all abilities.
WE liked what we saw of the city which was not a lot as we came to see the mountains . There were not many bars in our hotel area and for 2 foreigners who dont like Chinese food much ,there wasnt much other choice.
We really liked our hotel!!!
Zhangjiajie is beautiful place , the nature is gorgeous , the mountains are very huge but i recommend if u ready to go zhangjiajie u have to be in good condition , and not the place to bring small children
Beautiful landscapes, you must visit Tianmen (the actual cave or hole in the mountain) after march, since january and february according to the staff it is closed because of the weather.
Otherwise, like in my case you can only see it partially from above, by the sides or behind; which sadly it is nothing like the pictures you see of it everywhere.
Although we had a very bad experience with the airport, we almost missed our plane due to some misundertanding with airport personnel, the people in Zhangjiajie are very warm.
It is very beautiful quartzz sandstone with accessible with any public transport. There is a lots of international bank, the historical and scenic view of the mountain.
It's an amazing city in terms of great views, but super rude people, especially the taxi drivers. Taxi drivers were in for the money only.
They would give you some ridiculous price, just beware of it. Also, the attractions such as the National forest park, tianzi mountain, etc., didn't have clear buy route map, or tour map. It was very confusing if you didn't do a detailed homework for different sites.
Fascinating city with great attractions. Must see Zhangjiaie forest park and Tianmenshan mountain. Min 5 days of stay is recommended.
Not very convenient to travel with small children. Hot springs fpr relaxation are also available.
Beautiful place, the city is not very active during early January, you will find many closed places very early at night.
The city is a place to go for its beautiful scenery, more than anything else. Do not expect much in shopping or night life. During cloudy days the view is not very good (naturally), so consider the weather or season into your travel plans.
I have been to Beijing and Harbin and other cities/provinces in China but Zhangjiajie ffered something different.
It gave the most amazing view of Nature.Nature at its finest, so to speak. Altough we arrived at Dec where it was foggy, the best time to go is from April to October.
The city is a lot bigger then I thought. It is a typical dirty chinese city. Stay near the park, out of the city.
Wonderful city. It is civilization and nature integration. You can take cable car from city to Tianmen Mountian.
It's the longest cable way of the world. You would see the stunning sightseeing that photo can not describe how beautiful it is, you need to see it with your owns eyes. In night time there is Tianmen fox fairy show. It's a great show that use whole mountain as stage !!!!
zhangjiajie city nothing much but its national parks is really fantastic. Beautiful and natural rock formation.
A good place to visit but be prepare for a lots walk, stairs climbing
amazing nature. minimum 3 days. National park at least 2 days, Zhangjiajie mountain another 1 day minimum.
Longest cable car in the world with amazing view. Heaven's gate is the best, especially with the bus which takes you there.
