The hotel is staffed with friendly and helpful personnel, earning compliments from guests. Located in the city center, it's near popular attractions. Guests are satisfied with the breakfast buffet offering plenty of options and value for money.
Some guests reported issues with poor bathroom facilities, limited amenities, and dated facilities. Elevator service has also been criticized. However, the hotel's price may not seem worth it to some.
Did you find this review summary helpful?
The hotel itself was beautiful inside with a Chinese restaurant and a cafe that offers a significant amount of treats and coffee. However, the Chinese restaurant during that time wasnt able to serve quality dishes dishes due to the main chef absent. The hotel room: It was nice, cozy, and relaxing to be fair. The beds were on the mid to hard side and the walls were not that sound proof, as I could hear some sounds from the outside. It had good air-conditioning— very cold 🤣. However, there is one very big downside to the room— the bathroom. It was overall clean but due to the age, the cleanliness could differ to some. Moreover, the toilet did not have a bidet! The shower was also on the old side but it had hot and cold water. Despite all these, the hotel was complete with two pillows per bed, toothbrush and toothpaste, water, and clean sheets and blankets. The location: The hotel was conveniently located due to how walkable it was to go to SM City Baguio, Sessions Road, and other tourists spots. Calling a taxi was also easy at it was not a really busy road during that time. Free breakfast buffet: We had 2 nights so we ate 2 breakfast buffets. The food was food, however, while time goes on, they add more food varieties and we missed out on some of those sadly. The food was alright nothing crazy. Some foods that were there were eggs (scramble and sunnyside) corned beef, daing, soups (miswa and champorado), white and fried rice, salads, pancakes, juices and lemon water (normal water is also available), and many more! Value for price: We spent almost 11k for two nights with a breakfast buffet. I am sure and without a doubt will say that the value is not worth it. No bidet, very mid quality bathrooms, bad check-ins, but decent room size and location of hotel. Final thoughts: The hotel had great location, great staff, good enough room but incomplete bathroom essentials (no bidet), and bad system of check-ins. The check-in really put us tough due to how it was done. People were put in line even if we had online booking— some walk-ins even had a room before us. This resulted to a long line and a bad first impression for the many. Overall, I recommend it if you dont use a bidet, however if you do, then you could choose way cheaper hotels.
Hi, Sir Joe. We truly appreciate your review and the concerns you have shared, as they help us in our continuous efforts to enhance our services. Please be assured that we are taking these matters seriously and are committed to making the necessary improvements. We would be delighted to welcome you back as our guest in the future.
We had a comfortable stay at Citylight Hotel. The room was clean, the staff were accommodating, and the location made it easy for us to walk around Baguio. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience.
Its very affordable though its not new but its clean. We've been here 10 years ago and it still the same. I must say its value for money compare to other hotels and has buffet breakfast. Also i appreciate their free luggage check in even though we're already checked out.
The location was okay since it was relatively near Baguio Cathedral and SM. Buffet for any meal (breakfast, merienda and dinner) was a plus. The staff were friendly. In-room massages were offered but provided by third party, therapists were nice and professional; provided good massages. Downsides were: no bidet in bathroom (not sure if this was only for our room at the 2nd floor; they did provide a pail and dipper when we asked); there were a few tiny roaches in the room; temperature of heater was difficult to adjust (from hot to cold). Overall, our Baguio trip this year was memorable and Citylight Hotel provided a home away from home for us.

“Still good, for now. Hope they find a way to keep the view.”
We're half-hearted to recommend the hotel. Let me share a run-down of the things that need improvement first. Firstly, the noise is unbearable, especially if you're on the 5th floor. 6th floor houses the dining area and thus, it'll be noisy when people move the tables around during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During weekends, there is a bar and you can hear the music even if your room is fully closed. They move the tables or whatever they move until around 12 midnight. Hard to sleep after a busy day. In the morning, you hear the construction of the building beside the hotel. They have no remorse in making noises. So that's practically almost 17 hours a day of noise. Add to that the noisy hallway. Parking is next. Apart from the hotel guests, they open the parking to anyone! If they eat at the buffet, they are allowed to park. I mean, there are roughly 20 spots or so, and you open it to unlimited guests. Priority should be the in-house guests. Plus, we couldn't leave because you didn't have the key of the car blocking our parking. Wasted hundreds of pesos and time using public transportation as we needed to drive far to la trinidad, but couldn't because of the car without the key. Next is the room. There is no bidet. Come on, it's 2024 and there is no refrigerator. A mini could help. The heater works, like after 10 minutes. And sadly, due to the construction of the building, there won't be a good view anymore once it's done. They were already at our floor, which I think is the last floor for guests. Now, of course, the good. The staff are all nice. They are lively and helpful, all of them, from the security to the front desk, maintenance, restaurant staff, housekeeping. The room is spacious and there are several sockets for plugging in devices, especially charges. The room is well air-conditioned. The TV has tons of channels so you won't get bored. The room is so clean as well. You get free water too. The bed is just right. I liked the pillows although they shrink pretty easily. I used 3 pillows and a pillow at home is thicker. The buffet breakfast is awesome. You just have to bear with the number of guests since it is open to the public for a fee, and their buffet is quite famous. The food was excellent too and more than enough to fill your stomach. Changes everyday and they can refill the food efficiently, despite the unstoppable number of guests coming in. The check-in and check-out process was seamless. Incidental fee is at a minimum, at P500. It's easy to go up and down. There are 3 elevators available, 2 usable during our stay though. The lobby area is big and the performers were excellent. They have talent and engages their audience as they sing. There were lots of rooms too. The location is excellent as well as it's just a block away from the Cathedral and from SM and Session rd. So it's a balance of good and bad, but the deal breaker was the noise and parking. I had a bad sleep during our 3 days 2 nights stay. I called the noise winded down, but it came back pretty soon. Hope they could find a way to improve parking and muffle the sound and find a solution to the disappearing view. Keep the parking or more slots to the in-house guests on peak days at least. Recommended if you stay at the rooms that has less noise and if you don't bring your car.
