Claridge House = Claridge Home”
Absolutely loved our stay at Claridge House! The location is great - walking distance to the L and some great food / shops. The room was on the smaller side, but everything was comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Would recommend to anyone looking!
Gold Coast!”
I needed last minute accommodations for a business meeting on upscale Oak Street and found this hidden gem just a couple blocks north on Dearborn. Quiet residential location just a couple blocks from the action of Rush and Michigan Avenue. I was traveling alone so the small room with queen bed was fine for my one-night stay. The food in the restaurant was mediocre at best but head next door to Restoration Hardware where they have an outstanding restaurant...not to mention five floors of beautiful furniture! The staff is not the most professional but friendly. I was thrilled to find this room under $200 when everything else on Magnificent Mile was well over $400. Would return for another short stay but would try another hotel in the Gold Coast area if traveling with my husband. I'd be happy owning an apartment in this neighborhood!
Welcoming gem!”
The staff (front desk, doorman, cleaning), rooms (spacious, clean, quiet, styled) , fitness center (spacious, new equipment), bar (great Happy Hour!) and location (walking distance to great restaurants)...welcomes you from when you initially arrive and when returning from a long business day. A great "go to" hotel whenever visiting Chicago!
Warm welcoming and great location ”
Friendly staff, good breakfast and spacious room. Really good location close to lots of bars and restaurants (5min walk) and easy walking to Magnificent Mile.
Love this hotel!”
Excellent service every time. Rooms are always really clean and bed is so comfortable. Close to great restaurants and attractions. Only place I stay when I visit Chicago!
Great Stay!”
Really great hotel especially in the price range. Staff was amazingly friendly. 20 minute max walk from the Riverwalk area at best. Rooms were very clean and I received texts checking in on me. Would definitely stay again.
Spent almost 2 delightful weeks at the Claridge”
From the very start we were welcomed by the most pleasant receptionist, April. The whole staff treated us like they knew us and were glad to see us every time. The Continental Breakfast was a good way to start the day and the location is second to none. Whether walking to Oak Street Beach, a fabulous restaurant, or Second City it was easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel.
Very nice”
I really enjoyed my stay here. The only thing that got me was the $50 per day parking fee. And $59 if you actually take your car out at all. Besides that, our room was clean and comfortable. We slept like babies. The shower was a tad annoying because it also showers the floor and you use most of your towels to dry the floor....... and I mean soaked. We want to make this our tradition to stay here when we are in the city.
place for business”
The hotel is accessible to shopping centers, restaurants and sports center. Internet connection is reliable, good for business transactions. The food in the hotel is good and there are other nearby restaurants. it is walking distance to the park where you can relax.
Nice, clean and very friendly staff”
Our room is very nice and clean. Convenient to restaurants and small food shop. Staff is very very friendly esp. luggage guy. He is very nice. There is a small gym room to work out, ice machine and microwave available on second floor. That s all we need. Thanks.
Very good”
Good hotel, good price for what we were looking for. Need to explain parking fees in the description of the hotel. This was not explained until check in.
One night stay”
The facility was beautiful, clean, and accommodating. Service was not up to par, as we called for extra glasses and was sent to voicemail, asked at check in desk later, and they still were not delivered. We had to go back to the check in desk to make a third request. Everyone we spoke to was extremely courteous and friendly.
Beautiful stay”
The room was spacious and clean, beds are very comfortable, and their food and drinks are excellent! The location is great too! We would love to stay again.
Room with a large king bed.”
Bed is very comfy. Room is clean. This is a great hotel. Nice staff.
Great Hotel!”
Clean and modern Hotel with perfect location near the lake, subway and several supermarket!
Beautiful hotel, however lacking in some areas.”
Location is in beautiful old town, about 35-40 min walk into downtown. Beautiful building and rooms. However, we booked a deluxe king room for an expensive rate, and when we checked in, we only received a 2 queen bed room, which we could have booked at a cheaper rate. When enquiring about this, the ladies at reception were rude, making us feel like we were an inconvenience ans stupid. They also said there was no such thing as a deluxe king bed, that it will be a fault of Agoda. On top of this, we were given a room on floor 3, which was close to the footpath - we didnt sleep for our entire stay, as very early each morning a person used the blower vac for the leaves (3am, 4.45am..), plus there was a lot of street noise over the weekend. Again, we asked to change rooms because we werent sleeping, and the reception girls did not accommodate our request., again with attitude. We were disappointed as we paid $1700 for 4 nights. So expensive, yet we didnt get one good night's sleep. .
Gave away our room and had no roll away beds for our kids!!”
We got into Chicago at 10 pm because of a 7 hour train delay. When we reached the hotel and went to check in, the lady at the desk told us that they had no more double rooms available. When I reserved and pre-paid for the room, I pre-paid for a double room since we had all three of our children with us on this trip. She gave us a king size bed and when she called to housekeeping to get us a rollaway bed, they replied they had no more rollaway beds. So I had to sleep with two of my children and my husband in a king size bed. We had to put our five-year-old to sleep on the chair in the room. It was a terrible experience and seeing that it was $150 I feel like we did not get our money's worth at all from this hotel. We will not be returning.
Really Nice Stay”
Over all it was a really nice stay, no issues to speak of. We were not in the hotel much though to be honest so many things to see and do.
Excellent”
Updated hotel with Slow elevator but great staff and good facilities.
BEWARE HIDDEN FEES”
My wife and I liked this hotel and our experience there. However, when we got home after staying there for two nights, we were charged an extra $33.00. I called and asked why, since when we checked in they told us we had pre-paid online and sent us to our rooms. They said there is a fine print somewhere that says they charge an extra fee per night from the pre-paid fee. It is just over $16.00 a night. We stay at hotels a lot. This has never happened before. The hotel claimed this is just what they do. Beware traveler. This is a nice hotel, but stay there and you will pay an extra fee.
