About this property

Description

A historic Victorian Mansion across the street from a subway station, this quaint stay is certainly out of the ordinary, in a good way. The subway allows for easy access to anything in Toronto, but be sure to check out some of the interesting events that are in the surrounding area. Within walking distance Blue Man Group has venues in the Panasonic Theater and the fun of the Crews/Tango bar that has excellent shows is just a short bit away as well. An endless array of shopping and dining can be found in the nearby Yorkville shopping district. This place is a facility that is certainly a bit different from the usual hotel room and many people have enjoyed the unique experience that is Clarion Hotel And Suites Selby.

Lovely hotel
Easygoing and close to sub way station
The hotels receptionist was very prompt. Room was good. Breakfast was ok but it would have been good if there were more variety in the breakfast menu. My overall stay was more than satisfactory.

Great location, good breakfast, wonderful beds
Staff is very helpful and friendly
Bathrooms are totally updated with rain showers in each one. The location is one block away from a major subway line which makes travel really convenient to all major attractions in Toronto.

Lovely Hotel
excellent location for subway and good value for money
the hotel was surprisingly modern, with an old world greeting and conveniently located. within walking distance of everything you could need. I really enjoyed my stay and will stay again in the future.

Good value for money
cheap, location
the price i paid through agoda was very good for the standards of this hotel. the room was large and clean. the breakfast (included) was good. the metro is just across the street. unfortunately, in north america they still make buildings with wood. the result is that you'd better not forget the earplugs. i could clearly hear my neighbor snoring.

Nice hotel - unfreindly reception
Nice Hotel - good price for value
We stayed 2 days in this Hotel in Toronto. Nice tippical style The rooms are good and very nice bathroom and shower. We experienced very unfreindly people at the reception, unwilling to be helpfull. The breakfast buffet was not largely elaborated and no variation. We do not like the fact that all the table furnishing for the breakfast is made of trow away material (plastic plates and flatware) But all by all good value for money

Good central budgt hotel with good breakfast
good Breakfast (from a north-american point of view), breakfast room, 50m to metro, city nearby
old but clean rooms, rooms partially in basement
We spent one night in this hotel. It was a little bit old, with older furnitures, but clean. The bathroom was well. Due to the single elevator, which was even old and very slow, it was exhausting, to bring very luggage over a steep and narrow stairway to the exit. But doubtless Clarion is a budget hotel with a very central location. The staff was friendly and the breakfast quite good.

Very Accessible
Steps away from the subway line, downtown is walking distance, historic building, clean rooms, decent price.
Rooms are a little tired and old feeling, neighborhood is a bit dodgy, terrible old elevator, currently some construction going on next door.
I've used this place a few times now. As with most places the price is going up as the peak season comes but that's par for the course. Still a good price for the convenient location being so close to the subway. Be sure to walk west to Yonge street before venturing south if you want to walk downtown which is entirely possible. Sherbourne is very sketchy with a lot of undesirable types floating around, not the best place for a leisurely stroll with the family.

Overall a very plesant experience
Good location, great service when we checked in, including an upgrade to a suite. Loved the consistent service and price of the clarion chain with the feel of a bed and breakfast.
Continental breakfast was bland, even for a chain hotel. The heater in our upgraded suite wouldn't turn off and kept it a little to warm all night. The convenient parking and wireless were nice, but it was disappointing that they expired exactly at the time of checkout
Overall it was a good stay and I would stay there again. The The construction next door looked bad but didn't make much noise and didn't bother us at all I was taking a mcat at the plyometrics testing center at 425 blood and the hotels location couldn't have been better, I just rolled out of bed and walked 200 to the site. For anyone else testing at plyometrics this hotel is an excellent choice.
