Disgusting ”
I booked this as couple of years previous I had been there and it had all been done up. Literally the building was falling down. The headboard had worn away from I do not even want to know.. there was white dust on the dressing table ?! We had to give our ID for them to keep as apparently the police come!!!!! Everything was dirty and falling apart....

Above average”
The public transportation to the Hotel is very poor. There's no transport after 7.00pm and I had to book a taxi. This make it difficult to someone new in the area.

one night stay Nov 2017”
my room was clean, warm w ith comfy bed and nice en-suite. Restaurant was closed for refurbishment, so no evening meal or breakfast. some scuffs on leather headboard and bit brown mark on ceiling, but otherwise clean, great sheets. FREE parking and handy for my visit to Keele UNiversity, although the male recptionist didn't knowo where it was. The grand piano needs tuning but I was allowed to play it. only woken at 09.15 by workmen hammering. Great price and convenient for my trip.

Not recommended”
We booked this hotel on line with option to cancel up to a day before arrival. The purpose of our stay was only to visit the Wedgwood Museum, Barlaston on our second day. Very disappointed by the poor condition of the Hotel and our room but were unsuccessful in our request for an alternate accommodation. Also advised that food (Breakfast) was no available as the kitchen was out of action. We did not establish how long this situation had existed but in view of the general poor condition of the Hotel it was unlikely that we would have taken any option for on-sight prepared food. We decided, as were only booked in for two nights, and had arrived too late to cancel our credit card payment, to accept what was on offer. If it looks to good be true…! Should have checked the reviews before we committed. Front staff were very helpful and the bathroom linen changed each day.

Don't stay here”
The hotel is so run down it should be shut down. The kitchen is out of commission so no INCLUSIVE BREAKFAST. Why do they need photo ID; and why do they need to keep a copy of the photo ID? This hotel would be too expensive if they paid you to stay there. I can usually find SOMETHING helpful to say - but not here. so sorry.

Exellent price for a nights stop over, Reccomended!”
Stopped here for a night after travelling 4 hours from Cumbria because we were going to Alton Towers the day after. Only a half hour drive from Alton Towers so was great for us especially for the price we paid! Less than £5 taxi to the town centre if you would like to go for food and drinks like we did and there is a small Morrisions on the petrol garage with a Subway inside just 2 minutes walk down the road. Very easy to find after coming off the motorway. Great staff and basic rooms especially for somewhere just to rest your head. Highly recommended.

Poor level of cleaning. "Continental breakfast" is just toast!”
They requested an additional £10 per hour early check-in "as the cleaners would have to prepare the room early" which was a joke considering the state of the room. Stains in the carpet and grimy streaks in the bathroom as well as hair everywhere. When we went to speak to reception they gave the excuse that a previous manager had left with everything (including an ability to clean it seems...) and promised to send someone to clean properly while we were out. Of course this didn't happen. Thank goodness we were only staying the one night because the "free continental breakfast" was an absolute joke. Some bread left by a toaster and some stale instant coffee left out - no staff to be seen anywhere. We actually had to walk into the kitchen to find someone to get some clean cups as they'd run out. The staff member we did find appeared to have only just stumbled in nursing a hangover. If you want cheap it'll do but don't expect anything more than 1-star service
