Best hotel staff in the kingdom”
Good location on the quiet end of the island
After 2 months in thailand I can honestly say that the staff at this hotel are by far the most friendly, welcoming, and helpful of all. some of the hilltop bungalows have great sunset views and are a good value as well as having a great vibe. Shared bathrooms were always clean The owner is a great guy and very knowledgeable about recreation opportunities near and far. He was always willing to offer advice and very helpful with making arrangements for onward travel. These guys are really genuine and willing to help because they want you to have a good time, not cause there trying to sell you something. I can also recommend scuba diving with their in house dive shop as well. All the gear was new and the boat was really well outfitted. They have all the local knowledge and experience to make sure you have a good time in the water. If I were to go back to Koh Chang I would stay and dive with these guys again for sure. No need to look any where else.

I was here for a jungle marathon. A passenger took my luggage from the bus, so I lost my gear, clothes and everything else. Luckily the manager Naiyana brought me to the village centre to buy things. She also drove me to the race site at 2am in the morning - it was a 3hr round trip for her, if not I would have to pay a fortune for a taxi at that time. The other staff at the hotel was also very friendly and helpful. View here is superb. Sea is only 10m from my cottage. Dining area overlooks the sea. The sunset and sunrise here is fantastic. Very quiet and peaceful, it is very conducive for a rural getawag. Also, there is a diving centre here so patrons can do watersports here too. The water is very clear, perfect for diving and snorkeling. There are also family friendly activities like kayaking. Extremely value for money resort!

Good snorkeling and clean rooms. The manager was helpful with sorting things out with a local guide that were taking us out on a trek. Quit. On the bas side was that the kitchen was closed at certain hours during the day. The breakfast was very slow in the morning due to parallell preparations for the dive boat. They tried to rush it one morning which resulted in a pancake that was loose in the middle.

Did the tent and bungalow. Both were wonderful, and had a great view for sunrise/sunset. The female staff did not seem friendly, but the man was cheerful, nice and helpful. Facilities were cleaned many times throughout the day, and the restaurant is very convenient. Without a motorcycle, you will be restrained to just that Bay and a nearby market. Highly suggest to do some snorkeling or kayaking while here.

Great place to do ocean activities with family”
          Location! Unique! Free workout!
I booked 2 family size & one 2 person for our group of 9, kids infant, 2, 5, 9, 12, 14, +1 friend. The tents are huge, our whole family could have fit in one of them. The mattresses were nice and thick, firm, like Thais like them, but comfortable for me. The bedding in one tent seemed to have been sitting for a few days and was quite mildewed smelling, as happens quickly near the ocean. The staff were great. They offered me an upgrade to one of the air conditioned rooms. I opted for a smaller tent instead because we loved the tents. Let me tell you about these tents. From the bathroom you climb 74 uneven steps to reach them. From the top you can choose which way to look. On one side, sunrise over bangbao bay, on the other, two little coves and the sound of crashing waves to lull you to sleep at night. My tent faced the bay and we didn't even need a fan in the middle of the night if the flap was open because the sea breeze cooled us. This was in hot season mind you, the rest of the country was experiencing super high temps. Things you should know if with kids: The laundry service mentioned is not at the location, but down the road a short way and cost 40baht/kilo. The pool is deep. Too deep for our 5 year old to stand in the shallow end. Swimmers only in there. The restaurant is reasonable compared to others in the area, expensive if you're used to mainland non tourist prices. The food is great though. There's a little Thai place in the fishing village at the end of the pier that's super cheap. You could borrow a free kayak, go over in about 10 minutes, dock at the pier, and come back with cheap dinner. Our older kids loved the kayaking and the snorkeling, super clear water, lots of marine life, and the little walks around the area. If you want to sit on a beautiful sandy beach, don't come here. If you Iike to get in the water, and love natural beauty and rocky shores, this is your place. Bonus, I lost 10 lbs in 3 days hauling up and down those stairs.

          Good vibe, friendly, clean
I stayed in one of the "glamping tents", which was a nice change from your typical guest house. Staff is friendly, and there's some amazing snorkeling right in front of the restaurant. Great place if you want to hang out with chill people, snorkel and/or scuba dive. Not a great place if you came to Koh Chang to party. Per their website, they are located away from the party scene so just make sure you take that into consideration.

Location and views, great staff and food, value for money
I spent 5 nights at Cliff Cottage, and they went by far too quickly. It is located in a private bay to the side of Bangbao, so it's extremely quiet and isolated. Spent many hours relaxing in the hammocks in the communal area and enjoying the delicious food (especially recommend the curries and pad thai). But it's also close enough to walk to the Bangbao pier in a few minutes, and they will facilitate diving, snorkeling, kayaking etc - the owner also owns Scubadawgs diving in Bangbao. So all in all it's the best of both worlds - relaxation and activities. I stayed in one of the new glamping tents, and would highly recommend trying them out! The front-most tents have amazing views over the cliff, and it's so good to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the sea below.

Good comfortable rooms with lovely views again. Communal area is great, very chilled with some fantastic hammocks you can waste your days relaxing in. Has wifi however on in the communal areas and this is temperamental however it is free. Will definitely stay again and recommend them by far if you're staying on koh chang .

          Cleanness, view, facilities
We stayed in a tent - style accommodation and it was such a great experience. The tents are very new and maintained clean - no bugs can come in unless you let your zip opened! The view was simply amazing every morning/sunset, sleeping to the sounds of wave, waking up with a bright sunrise above the sea. Toilet/shower facilities get cleaned very often so they're like new whenever you use them. Food was good, coffee in the morning was good, a couple of hammocks to chill out, and generally the place is very relaxed and beautiful. The only thing is the location, obviously it's right at the cliff so its a bit far from restaurants, 7/11, etc (10-15 mins walk in dark if at night) but you can easily rent a motorbike from the cottage and the problem is solved! Shaun, the owner, was very helpful and kind enough to give us a ride to another place as well - thank you so much for your kind gesture Shaun! Koh Chang is an absolutely stunning place, and I'm sure I'll be back and choose to stay at the cliff cottage!

I had a great stay here for a week so great that I'm coming back for another three days now. Last time ever, dirty, poor condition, AVOID HUTS”
          Location, view, atmosphere
The worst guest house I have ever stayed in Thailand, everything except location, views on ocean and great atmosphere in common space was the worst. I have stayed in many budget bungalows and huts over Thailand, but this hut was terrible, very poor condition, disintegrated, dirty, I was afraid to touch anything because it could broke it. Big disadvantage are toilets and showers are downstairs, but it is not 30 steps as someone wrote, but much longer and higher distance. Photos in gallery are much outdated, on photos everything looks great, but in real not at all. Beach near is small and dirty and about 300m from huts, because huts are on the top of rocky cliffs. About dining: nothing special, could be better, and very expensive(2x) prices comparing to other places in area, I recommend going to restaurants on the way to Fishing village, where prices are half lower and real thai and very tasty . If you consider this place I would rather recommend Resort which is located just next to, which is cheaper and huts and bungalows are in much better condition.

Staff were very friendly and owner was very helpful
We really enjoyed our stay at Cliff Cottage and we actually extended our time there. Shaun (the owner) and his delightful family and staff went out of their way to make sure we got the most out of our stay. We had a day out on their boat SCUBA diving and snorkelling at very cheap rates which included lunch, fresh fruit and drinks. The staff on board were fun and encouraging to those both in and out of the water. We made full use of the motorbike hire and was able to explore the area at our own leisurely pace. Next door has a really nice swimming pool and we were able to make use of those amenities while we were there also. The food was excellent and very well priced so we felt no need to look elsewhere for our dining. We will definitely be looking forward to another relaxing visit in the future. The only negative point I felt was that the waterfront area`s could be kept cleaner of rubbish and debris although this all washes up with the tides so it would be an ongoing job but I feel a worthwhile task. 10 out of 10 for service, value and staff!

We booked the deluxe room, which were quite spacious and very clean. The hotel owner was very friendly and helped us book a snorkling trip to koh rong! If you're on a tight budget you can also stay in the budget bungalows, but overall I wouldn't recommend that. We saw the bungalows up on the hill and they were barely standing. The deluxe rooms are great value, I would stay there again if I come back to koh Chang someday!

We originally booked for 3 nights but ended up staying 4. At first when travelling to the hotel from the port we thought we may have made a mistake booking some where so far south but we couldn't have been more wrong. The accommodation was a good size with air con. The only problems were the safe didn't work and the bathroom door didn't close properly. The restaurant had a relaxing atmosphere with outstanding views and the food was pretty good to. The resort was a bit of a walk to the fishing village and nearest beach but there were plenty of taxis.
