      Exceptionally Friendly Staff, Great Views”

Views, Staff, New Rooms with private balconies, Close walk to nearby tasty momos and beers

Most of the other reviews of Club Himalaya were pretty spot on. There is nothing special about the place itself, the food at dinner was just ok, but the people working there and the views were amazing. There was very loud construction going on throughout our stay, including early hours of the morning and I would recommend avoiding the meals within 30 minutes of closing time as they seemed to let the food just go cold and not refill things. We were offered fresh eggs one morning though as everything on the buffet had just been left to get cold. The breakfast was quite nice if you get there early enough. Overall, I might check out other spots before going back to Nagarkot, but I think mostly likely I would end up returning to Club Himalaya. Again, the staff was very very friendly and helpful.

Wow what an amazing stay at Club Himalaya. Anuja and the staff made us very welcome from the time we checked in. The staff always said hello every day and had a smile on their faces which was very nice and was a great start to the day. All the staff went out of their way to help us from cooking food, waitering and booking us last minute tours. The view of the Himalayas from the cafe was breathtaking and the hotel itself was so relaxed and peaceful. The food is amazing as well, please try the different Thalis, which are yummy. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you ever visit Nagarkot. We will hopefully return back one day ourselves :-). Keep up the amazing work.

      location, view and modern room

i was upgraded to a deluxe room in the brand new extension. great view of the himalayas first thing in the morning and plenty of good trekking nearby. very friendly and accommodating staff, decent food, great room. club himalaya is more expensive than every other hotel in nagarkot but it was far better than any other accomdations that i saw. it is probably worth spending a few extra buck if you are looking for comfort over a "traditional backpackers" hotel.

      Traditionally designed and amazing location”

      location, cleanliness, staff

I liked this hotel because of the traditional furnitures in the rooms and all throughout the hotel. They also have a great location offering the guests a private view of the whole Nagarkot town. The restaurant is lovely especially the outdoor one, I could chill there for a long time. The bar is very interesting as well, too bad, not many people hang out there so it became boring after some time. The room is very clean and comfortable, I love our terrace next to pine trees, and all the furnitures feel new. The only downside is the wifi is not available in the rooms unless you buy their vouchers. Also, if only the swimming pool/jacuzzi were open during our stay, I would have given this hotel a perfect rating. We were kinda disappointed that the pool was closed due to cold weather, could have expected that it is heated since it is indoor and the location is in a cold town. Nevertheless, we had an amazing time in the hotel and it will be our first choice when we come back in Nagarkot

The View, Room Comfort and Hotel gallery

Love my stay although for 1 night only. I missed the sunset time there but I had a great sunrise experience from the balcony. The sunrise view with clouds around the hills with snow capped Himalaya mountains on the left side. Amazing view. Some birds came into the balcony. Another wonderful place in hotel was the roof-top. Stunning view. 1 night in Club Himalaya, Nagarkot was not enough, should be more than that. The other thing that should be noticed, you have to go through stairs to the lobby from the parking area.

Beautiful views and mediocre food at swanky hotel”

The room, the balcony, the view

Staying at Club Himalaya Nagarkot had been on my wish list for more than 10 years. The views at Nagarkot are stunning and I wanted to do it in style. Overall, the room was stylish and clean. The time we spent on the balcony made the whole vacation. We found it surprising and disappointing that their food options were so limited and mediocre. I suppose that a stellar location at a swanky hotel will always bring busloads of guests that will only stay for 1 or 2 nights. You can get by with a basic breakfast buffet and an expensive, mediocre dinner buffet. We ordered lunch off of the a la carte menu and they offered the same, limited menu at dinner (if you opted out of the buffet). They didn't even have bar snacks available in the bar. They did, however, have a lovely beer and wine selection. Their breakfast runs from 6-9:30. But they close down most of the breakfast offerings by 9 am.

the club himalaya is very nice place to view the mountains. the rooms are quite nice. as other places in nepal the electricity will fail often. with that said this is a nice to enjoy the moutains. the cost of a taxi from the kathmandu airport is modest compared to most of the world. if you plan to check out in the very early from the hotel to the kathmandu airport for a flight to view mt. everest, the very kind staff at the club himalayas will fix coffee very early and a breakfast to go. also: nice indoor swimming pool at the club himalaya to enjoy.

      Great location”

Just to warn you, the drive to Nagarkot is an experience by itself. The road is very rough, it can barely be called a road! It takes about 1 hour 15 mins from the airport. The place is very peaceful and beautiful. Do wake up in the morning for a view of the Himalayas - it is worth waking up early. If you are booking multiple rooms via Agoda, be careful, the number of adults is total and not per room, confusing.

great view. excellent value for money. modern contemporary rooms if in new wing

great hotel especially for families and day trekkings around nagarkot. beware of the rooms in the old section of the hotel as a bit old fashioned and looking cheap versus the stunning rooms of the new wing which are a must by comparison and are priced similarly. the hotel is all inclusive i.e. breakfast and dinner buffet are included in the very reasonable price. and they are really good !!!! the pool is ok but a bit sad and old. however together with the hot jacuzzi there's no better way to relax after a 6 hours walk from kathmandu valley rather than a 7 hours return trek to changu narayan. staff are friendly and the hotel probably the best in town.

Great location with fantastic view overlooking the Himalayan range. Could get to experience the sunset from the gallery which was just superb and also the sunrise from comfort of the balcony of our room. Perfect to experience the sunrise and sunset. The staff was most courteous, helpful and also knowledgeable about the Himalayan range and explained the various parts of the range just as proficiently as any guide would do. Only caution is the property is not very differently abled friendly as one has to encounter several steps to access the facility/ rooms and viewing galleries. Though one is confined within the property as Nagarkot does not offer any alternate for dining options with a small local marketplace, but the restaurant within the hotel offers a wide variety of cuisines. We tried the Indian and Chinese options and found both just perfect, as also the wide b'fast spread.

Away from the bustle of Kathmandu valley”

Excellent room; good food; excellent bar

This hotel is a good choice if you wish to visit Nagarkot and stay in comfort. The hotel looks as if it could do with a bit of external maintenance but the internal décor was very good. It has a number of viewing terraces, but the view towards the Langtang peaks and the western Himalaya is partially-blocked by an adjacent hill and nearby trees. It can be overrun by large tour groups, but they also cater well for individual travellers and the service and food were both very good.

      Lovely Retreat”

Great view from our room balcony.

This hotel was a wonderful getaway. We stayed three nights and everyone thought we were staying too long as there isn’t much to do in Nagarkot. I think if we had stayed somewhere else this would have been too long. However, since the hotel provided everything we needed - a wonderful room with comfortable beds, a great view, good food, excellent spa and sauna - it was the perfect ending to our trip around Nepal. We were there during festival time, so the hotel was short staffed and the workers looked a little tired. However, they provided excellent service and were very welcoming. I commend them.

I really liked Club Himalaya The views from the new rooms & the hotel grounds are stunning. Room was very comfortable with a great balcony for viewing the mountains & valley nearby, good tv, nice bathroom also. Restaurant is nice, very good staff, food is good. Lovely grounds & gardens, & a great restaurant/tea room towards the village. Fantastic massage also & very good value. Overall a very nice hotel, but a little pricy in comparison to other similar standard hotels elsewhere, maybe because of weekend stay. Its still the best hotel in Nagarkot though. Also, would've been better if the hot water shower was much hotter, as our stay was still within winter season (early Feb). Best part - staff were very friendly and attended to all our specific requests.

      Gorgious view of Himalaya!!”

      view of Himalaya

positives: -views of Himalaya from the room terrace and from the roof top *roof top view was just great! -complimentary breakfast buffet *I would have liked something Nepalese in the menu, though -rooms clean and with some local handcraft details -rooms are named after mountains of Himalaya negatives: -though the hotel offers various activities for the guets, it seems they are not active during the winter season -water was not hot enough -many group tourists were staying there, some of whom didn't care about the other guests. It's not the hotel's fault, but it's the typical risk at the hotels where the group tourists go. -felt a bit expensive for what it is. It's an only big hotel in the remote town so there isn't really a competition for the hotel. other: -The hotel gave us the complimentary 30 minutes massage at the hotel spa, which was very nice (only one for two guests, but still). However, when I tried to receive the service, spa staff told me it was fully booked. Since I had to leave very early the next morning, I couldn't enjoy the service which was disappointing. I recommend to go to spa and book the time right away after check-in, if you want to enjoy the gift for sure. -The dinner menu at the restaurant only offers western and Chinese dishes, while there are some good local restaurants in the town at the fairly reasonable price. We enjoyed a nice Tukpa at the local restaurant and was the best Tukpa we've had.

The hotel is so great. Here are several points about the hotel. 1. my room have a very large balcony and in the balcony I can see fascinating mountain views. The air is so fresh and even make me want to stay here forever. 2. The hotel is well furnished and makes people feel very comfortable. 3. Then is about the sunrise and sunset. On the top of the hotel, there is a platform where people can enjoy the beatiful view of sunrise and sunset. We can even see Himalaya mountains there. 4. The souvenior shops in the hotel is also very great where i can buy unique wood carvings. These wood carvings are different from the ones in Kathmandu and other cities and are worth buying! Overall, it's a great hotel and i think i will spend several nights here if i visit Nepal next time!

Excellent stay. Staff was very attentive from check in to lunch at the Inn to dinner and breakfast at the main hotel. Food was good. Hotel was in good shape. The room was in excellent condition with a spectacular view of the Himalayas. There were also plenty of lookouts where even better photos could be taken. It was hard for our family to get in the car and leave!
