best resort to stay”
the staffs were helpful. They also assist you from your transportation and other activities. We did kayaking and hiking. Just ask the staff on how to go to the other side of the island; just a few minutes of walking. We stayed in floating cottage 10
expectations vs. reality”
This place needs serious renovation and better management. pictures in the ads were taken when the resort was new. Currently, the condition of the resort is not pleasurable and needs total overhaul. This place should be a good spot to relax away from the crowd but it needs to improve its services. Food here is expensive but not worth it.
Filipino hospitality at its Best!!”
Our much anticipated trip to Siargao exceeded our expectation. From the remote location to the extreme hospitality that greeted us- Club Tara is definitely a special place.Club Tara May not have what you would expect in a conventional resort as far as amenities , but the staff has added such personality and pride that no amount of luxury and technology can replace..no doubt that Club Tara has our highest recommendation -and if you’re looking for a knowledgeable island guide- ask for Bonga- and she’ll show you the local vibes!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is good. The view from the room is magnificent. The only downfall of the resort is that its really old , the furnitures are gathering mould and the place needs touch up.
Not worth and not what we expected. ”
We have to get a private boat all the way to the resort (takes about 2hrs) and we were expecting a nice place. The exterior of the resort is very old and the toilet is dirty, jacuzzi is totally not what the picture shows. We were told that the paddleboard and kayaks are free to use, the staffs there are friendly though. In the day, there is nothing to do at that area. We tried to paddleboard around the lagoon to explore, only to find out that both sides are deadends. You will have to get tours or engage another private boat to bring you out of the resort. Overall it is not worth the money going all the way there to do nothing.
Not Worth It”
We arrived June 24, after a long boat ride. Limited food availability due to stocks haven't arrived. The shower is like salt water. The facilities is poorly maintained. We were suppose to stay there until june 27, but 3 hours after we arrived,I have decided to leave on the next day at 7am. Not worth staying at the resort.
Family Room -- not recommended”
We booked the garden view room for 8 persons. The beds were so uncomfortable, room was tight, no table no chair, doesn't have enough space for the bags considering there are 8 people. The toilets were common. Some doors were broken. No place to hang your wet clothes from swimming. The food was expensive and it isn't even worth it. The pool looks nice on their photos but in person it's not enticing at all. The manager was rude, and some of the staff doesn't know what they're doing. Definitely not coming back
I stayed at Club Tara for 2 nights & had a few issues with the place starting from the beginning the 2 hr boat ride there cost 3500 php & was very loud & left my ears ringing for 2 hours after. Upon arrival the transfer from the boat to the jetty was dodgy & not safe. I did not receive a welcome drink or any bottled water as advertised. Straight away I saw the place is dilapidated & not maintained starting with the rusty & moulded key & door lock, faucets on the shower & jacuzzi was dirty with cracks & moulded unfortunately with no hot water. I found the food was expensive & the size of the fish & chips meal was only 4 mouthfuls & they had run out of tomato sauce. The menu was limited & even some dishes unavailable, the mango shake was full of sugar & tasteless, My breakfast was ok but small. The toilet blocked up once on the second day. The two cane chairs in the cabin were unstable & rotten. The door to the outside balcony had no locks so it was a security issue for our luggage. I enjoyed snorkeling there & the views were great but we felt they are taking advantage of us the whole time. Bring water & snacks because the food & drinks available there is limited & expensive compared to anywhere I have stayed in the Philipines. No TV or wifi in room but I could get a limited signal from the end of the jetty. The location is close to sohoton & jellyfish sanctuary tour which was good. Two nights was enough for me & I looked forward to get a decent meal when I left. The views are great & It is a good place to visit but I can't recommend to stay there.
Very Disappointed ☹️We go there to relax but your room is not clean and the aircon was broke.”
We left not because of how far it is but because we expect that the room was beautiful as in the picture yes the view is good but the room it’s like old and it’s not clean the air con was old too that’s why we can’t feel the coldness of aircon it’s ok for us even how far it is but we are so disappointed when we came we expect too much but it sad to say that it’s not beautiful as what we expect that’s why we check out even on our first night also the signal and WiFi hope next time you will renovate it because we pay to relax and not just to sleep we want to feel comfortable but it’s like torturing us that’s why we choose to stay in general luna in general Luna even it small hotel I feel comfortable because it was very clean everything is perfect and beside there’s a lot of tourist attractions and near on everything and at your resort yes there are good view but the room and it looks like old and dirty the guest will not be satisfied and happy hope that you will renovate and clean the room because it’s wasted of time from general Luna and traveling there when the room is not clean.also the staff they should have a uniform to look decent and be friendly not only on the foreigner but also on the Filipino guest.
Isolate yourself in paradise”
Location and Socorro island nature environment is astonishing. The property as been damaged over time - poor maintenance. Overall it was a great experience to wake up, swim and canoeing in such a beautiful place. Rooms have jacuzzi (not in it's best shape and condition) but is still a good experience to bath while watching the sunset. Important note: this resort is totally isolated. Only accept paypal and cash payment.
Magnificent natural view but old room and long travel”
Omg the view is amazing and very very relaxing. Can’t take my eye off the view however the room is a little bit old and dusty. The staffs are very helpful and courteous. The food is delicious but pricey. It was a long travel but I think it’s worth
Nice for some peace and quiet”
I went there to have some peace and quiet and i think that it was a good decision i went yo Club tara! I got my own beach and lagoon to myself! The kayak and paddle board was free for guests which was perfect! The food was very basic though, don’t expect too much. The room was clean but run down. Hopefully they can renovate and restore it to how it was originally designed to be.
Be prepared to connect with nature ”
Please inform your clients that the club Tara will not provide : any drinkable water, free transportation to or from the resort. Also no toothbrush, toothpaste or others beside shampoo and soap. Also would help if it's clearly state on your website and agoda about payment options being just cash or PayPal. Besides these constraints it's a wonderful spot for canoeing and relax. Be prepared to connect with nature and disconnect with the workd. Wifi is almost nule and power supply can be down due to the remote location. That said, me and my young daughter had a great time.
One of a kind experience”
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They assisted us in all our inquiries. The room was okay, the jacuzzi was the bomb! The view was extraordinary! They have kayaking and paddle boarding and a mini boat at the center of the location, for relaxing. It has a swim board for the people who want to jump off on the water. Though the location was too far and we needed to rent a boat in order to go there beacause they have no boat transfer provided. The boat costs us additional 1500 php. All in all, it was a fun experience!
Located in one of the best places on earth!”
This place is a paradise!
Great place to relax”
Very beautiful location, which you can explore with kayak (provided for free) Kind staff, that will help you with all questions House need to repair, now it is rather shabby Pool didn't work
A very beautiful location and very quiet. Rooms feature standard and bungalow. I stayed in a seaside bungalow. The room was large and had lots of wooden furniture and fixtures. However, the hotel is more than 10 years old and has not been regularly maintained and needs renovation. It has an air conditioner which is located on the floor and in a location which means it has no affect in cooling the room. WiFi is surprisingly good given the location of the resort. Restaurant is average but staff are friendly and do a great job
Disappointing. Read the reviews before you book. ”
Our reservation was for 2 nights but we stayed for only 1.5 hours. It was a vacation that turned into a disaster. This resort only looks good on the outside & on the photos but once we arrived & looked around, we got very disappointed. All in all this resort is very outdated, needs renovation & needs improvement. The steps of the walk way of the port of the resort has gaps & not sturdy & it may fall anytime. The walk way going to the rooms is not a descent walk way but just like a passage way of a hill. When we arrived at the room, there is no TV & no WiFi. Data is not also working as network signal is not strong. In any case, how can you be contactable. The WiFi is only available at the lobby which also has a poor connection. Over all the bathroom does not look clean as the amenities, bathroom floor & wood, shower, toilet & jacuzzi is not well maintained. It looked unhygienic & really old. The food is not delicious. Wondered how can they make the photos look good in the internet.
THIS IS A LONG RANT BUT PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ!! The room given to us was old. The ref is not working. Rusty faucets, toilet paper holders, shower and even the KEY to the room. I swear it was hard for us to open our door because the key is rusty. The curtains are dusty and the bedsheets smells like mold. The cabinet is broken and the lights in our balcony is not working. — I am very disappointed with the facilities because they have a great spot but they were not able to maintain it. I also did not expect them to give us such room since we booked 3months earlier. Moreover, the service was terrible. It took them 2hrs to serve our dinner and whenever we follow it up or asked the waiter how many more minutes he would just reply “mam intayin nyo nalang po ilalabas po yun pagluto na”. The next morning all of the staff woke up late. We went to the dining area thinking that breakfast is from 6-10am but to our dismay no one was there to attend to us. We asked one of the “boy” there and he said “mam tulog pa cook at staff wait nyo nalang”. Staff in the dining area showed up at around 7am, upon taking our order we asked if we can talk to the manager to which they replied “ay mam tulog pa po”. 8am and i asked again this time they told us— “ay mam wait lang nagkakape pa po”. Breakfast was served and they gave us expired ketchup which tasted like vomit. 9am and i was really getting impatient so i asked the front desk what time will the manager talk to us. She said “ mam naliligo pa ata. Wait nyo lang” i replied “hindi ba pwede tawagin sabihin may guest dito” i was shocked when they told us “nako mam di po pwede magagalit po yun” like wow. After that incident, we decided to just leave the place. We paid 18k for 3nights but we were only able to endure it there for 1 night. I don’t mind paying for an expensive hotel as long as i get to enjoy what i pay, but this one is a BIG NO and a WASTE OF MONEY.
Location location location”
From Surigao it's a 90 min drive to Hayanggabon port and then a 30 min transfer by boat. If you're looking for a private transfer, I would recommend getting the resort to organise the van and boat transfer as it is cheaper than organising it yourself. We booked a 6 night stay which was a mistake as once you've been there 3 nights you're ready to leave. The staff are very sweet and helpful but the actual resort is a little tired and shabby. The pool was dirty and very hot. The food was nice but limited to chicken, pork and fish and they kept running out of things like beer and soft drinks. The pier is NOT suitable for anyone with walking problems and getting in and out of the boats is really dodgy. There is virtually no WiFi, possibly the worst WiFi I have experienced in the Philippines. You can get a 4G connection if you stand on the pier but nowhere else which was really annoying. They have a really sweet little dog called Bonga. Overall I would recommend this resort but with reservations
