Excellent Value at the head of Klong Prao Beach”

I got an excellent deal here that included a very extensive buffet breakfast. The standard rooms offer excellent value for money. The only drawback is that they face over the main road and in my case directly over the flashing neon pharmacy sign. That was only a problem until 10pm, so nothing really to complain about. the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. For a little bit extra, better rooms are available in the heart of the resort and even on the beach front. I found the staff to be courteous, friendly and very efficient. The resort opens up right on the the head of Klong Prao beach, so it is an excellent position if the beach is your main destination. Off the road is Coconut Plaza, which has a couple of very good massage shops and restaurants. It is an excellent proposition for anyone who wants to be close to the beach and amenities, but who doesn't want to break the bank.

An Excellent, Value for money Resort in Chai Chet”

I love Coconut Resort and always head there when I am staying on Koh Chang. The staff, rooms, facilities and food are all excellent and there is something to suit every budget. Being situated at the head of Klong Prao beach gives it a great location for beach strolls and evening dinner excursions.

Delightful family resort”

Good location on a nice beach; helpful staff
The lack of chaises-longues at the pool and at the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at Coconut Beach Resort. We would happily go back. The room was very pleasant, although the bathroom is a bit crowded. The grounds and pool are nice, and the beach is right in front of the resort and VERY pleasant, with fine sand and warm, shallow water. The restaurant is fine, and the evening dining on the beach very pleasant; breakfast is excellent. Our only complaint is the lack of chaises-longues both at the pool and at the beach. The one I regulalry used was broken so no one else wanted it, but there were no other options. Even the lawn chairs were in short supply. We organized some trips from the tour desk and they were completely satidfactory. The staff are pleasant and acommodating. It would be a good place for families to holiday together.

Nice stay”

Close to the beach, nice aria

i had a pleasant stay in coconut beach resort. it was close to the beach and nice staff. i stayed in a room, and the only thing was that the bathroom was very small. the doors in the room also made some noise when it was windy in the night. in high season the beach aria outside the resort can be a bit crowdy. but the beach is long, so it is always possible to find a place to sit if you want it more quiet.

Friendly staff, good Hotel restaurant, great beach”

Good sized room with effective Air-Con, free Wi-Fi slow @ peak times, Good location with no girlie bars nearby.

Our 10th Thai holiday and 2nd trip to Koh Chang, we had stayed at this beach before (Klong Prao) and liked local restaurants & the style of this resort. The room would benefit from one less table and wooden armchair, a larger wardrobe and more natural light. Cable TV limited with No Film Chanel Some nice local restaurants, inc 4 Italian, the best of which is at the top of VJ Plaza where they make their own pasta & bake their own bread. Suddenly 60% of Thai tourists seem to be Russian, maybe they are happy to over-pay for the facilities.

End of rainy season.”

proximity to the beach and the small shopping centre.
difficulty in getting hot water in the shower, older tv making reception difficult.

We had 2 rooms at the Coconut Beach Resort and both were adequate for our needs. The air conditioning was hard to adjust to a warmer temperature and it was quite a shock coming out in the morning to the humidity - and foggy glasses and camera lenses! The breakfast was aimed more at the Thai tourist but there was adequate choice for those who prefer foreign style fare. We booked two trips through the front desk, both of which were well organised and enjoyed by us. It was a shame the weather was unpredictable but then it was the end of the rainy season, so to be expected. Lots of interesting shells on the beach for us 'shelloholics' to satisfy our cravings. The staff were helpful and polite and had good English to deal with anything we needed.

Absolutely amazing value. Excellent everything”

Just could not say enough good things about this hotel. Right from the time we stepped in we were upgraded to a nicer room. The price was incredibly cheap / good value. I see a lot of comments saying the hotel is older and you could say that in a way, but everything in top condition, super clean and while it wasn't a showy ritzy place, it was very very nice. The hotel is right on the beach, ideal for kids, families. The beach itself has trees so nice and shady, kids can play on the beach right near the water in the shade. The water is not too deep without going out about 20 metres so ideal for kids. Very calm. Ideal setting. Two beautiful clean pools, one near the beach. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Bathroom nice. Balcony. Breakfast lovely. The hotel restaurant was a big surprise. Really nice food and drinks and very very reasonably priced, cheaper than outside restaurants and right on the beach. Staff were a delight. Always cheerful and happy. Easy parking. Location great

Very Nice resort and Service. ”

Hotel rooms and garden, Breakfast buffet, Service staff, location at the beach

this hotel was very nicely located at the beach, the room construction mainly in bali style. breakfast was very good, beach nicely. but: be aware of the sandflies at this beach.!!!! although the resort was a nice expierience, the beach was not! sandflies attack you and suck your blood at all areas. the itching is sometimes unbearable!! i got 46 big bruises myself, my wife 23 and my son was bitten only 4 times. but you will not sleep well with this kind of bites. a mosquito bite itches maybe 1 - 2 days, these vampires [sandflies] are remembered at least 10 days. so if you not walk on the beach, the resort is a good choice. if you like to "enjoy" the beach, be sure your body is prepared for a painful expierience! the resort owners of all resorts there shall spray the beach and bushes 2 times per year to eleminate this pest!!

Coconut Beach Resort”

The best things I like about this resort are: the children swimming pool, excellent location, morning breakfsst, and the beach.
There is this night club down the road called Lay Lay Tong that plays Karoke until 1 or 2 a.m. It is not very loud where we were but loud enough to hear it "bum" "bum" all evening. I don't like noise! Maybe I'm more sensitive than most people.

The Coconut Beach Resort is an excellent hotel for your money and family. We stayed from January 19th to 27th 2009 (8 days). We have a 4 year son and he loved the beach and the children swimming pool. There were also a lot of other children for him to play with. The location is excellent. You can have long long walks on the beach and visit cheap local restaurants on the beach serving excellent food. I think it is much better than white sand beach. The staff was nice and professional. Overall I think it's a good hotel for a family vocation.

Nice resort on Chai Chet Beach”

The resort runs from the main road to the beach, a bit of a sprawling place with a wide range of rooms. We had the lowest priced ones that faced the main road that ran past the resort. We arrived about 3 pm and were taken directly to our room. Large balcony with a large drying rack, facing the Tesco-Lotus across the road. The room was clean, had AC, TV, queen bed with blankets, fridge, wi-fi (weak to none , worked on balcony early morning & worked well at reception & in the dining room), towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, open wardrobe, safe, desk with stool and two night stands. The room curtains were light so the room was still quite bright at night as Tesco is 24 hours. Also, there is street noise so ear plugs might be helpful. The resort has 2 pools, one near the ocean and one closer to the road, didn’t use either as went into the ocean. There is a large breakfast buffet with a good selection of Thai and western dishes. It has egg station as well as a soup station. Juices, coffee, tea and milk also offered. Overall, very good buffet. They also have a beach restaurant with a range of dishes, from Thai to pizza and pasta and liked all the dishes we had there. Also, very nice staff, always pleasant when we interacted with them. The resort was fine and could stay again but if did would look into rooms closer to the beach, off the main road.

Great location on the beach”

On the beach

located on the beach, lovely safe beach. lots of shallow water for children to play in, no motorboats. the restaurant was nice and relaxing, lovely food, good choice of food and drinks/cocktails. very helpful and happy staff. live music every night, cosy, relaxing atmosphere. long beach to walk along, plenty of other resorts to wander into for evening meals. the gardens were well kept and everything was clean. the rooms have a classic traditional style. the felt a little out dated though, but still very comfortable and no problems. 2 swimming pools within the resort, never crowded, although we stayed midweek. we rented out wanishapool and villa rooms, both extremely similar. located in the garden, 50m from the beach. the have beach bungalows which look more modern, and located directly on the beach, but they were fully booked. i'd definately stay here again for a relaxing stay on a lovely beach.

We stayed in this hotel 4 nights, and we liked it wery much, price is good, breakfast is ok. We walked through the beach of other nearest hotels and I can say that Coconut beach is one of the best because it is 1st one on the beach and people do not walk through the relax zones and you do not have to worry about anything. One problem they do not have safety boxes in normal option.

Coconut for ever”

The atmosphere, the location, the beach.
The reclining chairs at the beach. They were old and rotten. Really rotten! There were only six (!) chairs which were more modern and comfortable. So the standard of the chairs VS the hotel itself doesn't match!

The hotel is very nice located at one of the best beaches in Koh Chang. As we like to walk on the beaches it suited us very well as the beach is about 1 km. The construction of the centre part of the hotel is very nice and looks like a temple. The breakfasts were ok but not more. The dinners at the beach however were very nice. We stayed for 8 nights and we enjoyed every moment of it and could absolutely go back again.

1) remote location 2) near tesco & cheaper shopping 3) fair prices

We had a great time at Koh Chang. Have been several times before and this was the perfect location for our family with small kids. Nice stretch of beach! Is sort of in the cove so water is not as clean as a bit further up the beach (leaves and other debree). Christmas is a very nice time to go but colder than other times we've been, so we didn't really use the pool. Staff was friendly for the most part, living in Thailand and speaking Thai, there were some who could have been more friendly, but understand as many Thais can get another by rude foreigners, and there are plenty.

Nice beach, quiet resort great beach front rooms.”

We went in the off season so the price of the beachfront bungalows were great. We have the double bungalow, we loved being on the beachfront, with a shared balcony with our family with us. We loved the view. The beach I front was kept clean. The breakfast was not anything to write home, basic toast, omelet rice salad. The food and drink prices were high especially when you can eat right outside for half the price, but without the beachfront. The eating price was reflected in the poor showing for other meals and drinks. We enjoyed our walks on the beach. Lucky for us , despite being off season we had one day of rain and the surf was mild .

Near Beach, Great Cleaning Staff

we had the standard room which was on the road, but had a nice balcony to sit on to watch the motor bikes drive by. some people might be bothered by the noise, but coming from bangkok, it wasn't that bad at all. walk to the beach was about 2 minutes through the hotel grounds. the room was clean, the cleaning staff was great. a few ants in the room, but you're staying on a tropical island so i wasn't too bothered. i would definitely stay at that resort again, and i plan to go back. great value.

Nice hotel in decent area”

View of the pool and sea from hotel room Lots of local restaurants and shops
Rooms a bit dated. Not any sun loungers ( a few chairs) around the pool. Not fresh coffee at breakfast

This is a nice hotel on Klong Prao beach which is where there are lots of restaurants and shops etc but not as busy as White sands ( in a good way!) The rooms feel a bit dated but the grounds are nice. The pool is ok but the area around it is a bit small compared to other hotels and not got sun loungers. It does have direct access onto the beach which is lovely. The restaurant is ok, service is a bit slow though. I would have liked fresh coffee for breakfast.
