Great Long Weekend”
My family and I had a wonderful experience at Cocotinos for a long weekend. My children are 5 and 6. We splurged on a two-bedroom pool villa. It was huge and so amazingly comfortable. The pool villa was perfect for my two kids and we played for several hours. We walked down the beach past the resort and my children caught hermit crabs. We snorkeled off the pier and the water is crystal clear! The dinners were amazing with generous portions. The resort is close to many wonderful islands for snorkeling so you can get there quickly and leave right from the Cocotinos beach.
This was our 2nd visit to Cocotinas and we once again had a lovely time. I think the 2 stand out items are the location and the staff. The place is a little isolated but that's a plus as you have more time to relax and unwind. The snorkeling just off the pier is fantastic but my advice is to hire the boat and go to Gili Nanguu . That is the best snorkeling I've ever done and that includes the Great Barrier Reef. The staff here are fantastic - each and every one of them is extremely friendly and pleasant, speak decent English, and occasionally funny.
Probably my favourite holiday ever”
We only had three days at Cocotinos but they are three days I'll never forget. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you're looked after. The resort is absolutely gorgeous and the villas are very well built and maintained. The view across the sea to Gili Nanggu and Gili Tankong is the perfect backdrop to a quiet beach retreat. Treatments at the spa were great and incredible value for money and boat trips with Oddysea were enjoyable too. Can't recommend Cocotinos enough!
Private location, nice view, friendly staffs”
Private location which is suitable for honeymooners . The rooms are comfortable. Staffs are helpful and friendly. The only set back is that there no restaurants or cafes nearby.
A place that can be improve ”
It is important that the management defines luxury for this establishment. The service at reception and restaursnt is mediocre and not all staff are informative e.g. we were not given a briefing on the property or told about complimentary tea. The shower in my room was old and not functioning well and I was given a broken bed with a room that smelled damp - all of which should be dealt with prior to checking in a guest. I am appalled at the cleanliness of the hotel's beach. There is rubbish almost everywhere ( I have photos). The least the property can do is get their staff to clear it to offset the mediocre quality waters (Sekotong is near a shipping area hence the water is murky with bits of blue). Overall for me it was a good stay as my friend and I made the best of what we had. I suggest the property review its luxury status and look into more relaxing activities to offset the seclusion of the area (e.g. evening bbq, learning arts crafts cooking). Breakfast was very generous.
Positive sides: good hotel room, nice location, friendly staff at the restaurant not the front desk. Negative sides: booked 3 rooms for IDR 7.5 million and called them to asked for a late check out for any one of the rooms since i was planning to dive with their Odyssea dive. The answer was "since you are only stay for 1 night, we cant promise you that. You can only make the request during check in." Which i did and they give me the late check out. But what a sarcastic answer over the phone. I also found out that the hotel wasnt fully booked and they even sold 2 rooms at @IDR1,5 million. Odyssea dive was the worst part, truly unorganized and arrogant staff. I called a week before to book the dive and they said not to worry, that i can just drop by on the day i check in. They will be able accomodate. So i did and they said they were fully booked and i should have booked first. They started giving me all excuses about the dive schedule, which is btw different from what they put right on the table. True, I didnt bring my PADI card but if it was the real and first reason why i couldnt join the dive, i wouldve been okay with it. There's no need to cover the messy services with other reason. All in all i would have to think more than twice before i come back here.
Good resort but location is so far from airport and city”
Good resort, swimming pool and beach is nice, we can across to Gili Nanggu which is pretty island that must be visited ! Location is bit far from airport and tourist centre. Heard many tokek (kind of gecko) sounds after 9pm that make my son really afraid :)) anyway food is good, staff is nice and friendly
Quiet beach resort”
Location was good right on the beach, good size rooms and very clean. Very quiet place so glad we only had 3 nights there. The food at the resort restaurant was excellent, thankfully as there is nowhere else to dine in Sekatong. Disappointed we were put in rooms as far away from the pool as one could get when we requested to be close and considering there were hardly any other guests staying there they should have moved us closer but wouldn't accommodate out request, otherwise enjoyed our stay.
A SUPER PRIVATE HOME AWAY FROM HOME RESORT”
Was very impress with the hotel services from the time we arrived at the airport where by their driver Ramli who was ever so friendly and was telling us about Lombok. Being our first trip to Lombok, he told us everything we needed to know about Lombok. It's population, the customs, the ratio of Muslims and Hindus and above all how they live together in harmony. When we arrived at the Resort, Ms Wayan greeted us with a very friendly smile. She had our room ready. I had actually planned a surprise birthday bash for my husband and she helped arrange everything. We had a beautiful BBQ for 2 outside of the villa and right on the beach. The staff of cocotinos brought out the Birthday cake after the BBQ and was singing the Birthday song to him. Just after blowing out the candles on the cake the fireworks started. Very well planned and executed. Timing was just perfect. Thank you to Amee for making it Perfect. We must add that the staff from the Driver, front desk, restaurant, room service and house keeping were all extremely friendly and they made our stay a very blessed and happy one. I will definitely go back to cocotinos. To the owner of Cocotinos, you have the most wonderful, kind and most friendliest staff we have ever met in all our years of travelling to various resorts. Keep it up COCOTINOS. THANK YOU !!!
good for snorkeling ”
I stayed at Cocotinos for four nights with my wife and a son. We visited Gili Nanggu twice and enjoyed snorkeling with JP, our snorkeling guide. The hotel is conveniently located to visit there, though there is no other place nearby to visit from the hotel. Staff of the hotel were friendly and helpful. Internet connection was not as convenient as we expected. Air conditioning was not effective for the space where an extra bed was set, and it was hard to sleep. Overall it is a good hotel for snorkeling but a bit costly.
great view, quiet place and family friendly”
it was great, the views are amazing, and the room also clean n nice, definitely will come back to this hotel
food was overpriced and room too”
it was just ok
Best place for quiet getaway. ”
Location is secluded and to get to this place is a long winding road. Perfect for couples getaway away from the hustle n bustle of city life. The hotel is clean, staffs are friendly. They could improve on the breakfast menu.
Great place to stay loved it
Gateway to the secret Gilis”
We booked a last minute special at Cocotinos for a couple of days R&R before heading back to Bali. We were very pleased with our stay and surprised how nice the food was. Whist not cheap we felt it was good value based on an on line discounted rate.
The rooms are very nice but the hotel is highly overpriced for what they offer - the already small breakfast buffet was half empty at 9 am, staff seemed unmotivated and not attentative. There is only saltwater in the room. The food is barely average but heavily priced (e.g. Nasi Goreng for USD 6). All fine with me but not at a night, there is much nicer hotels in Lombok.
Stay at a place close to nature”
The cleanliness standard is very low. The room is dark without sun shine The best things are good breakfast and sea sport facilities.
Not for swimming”
This is a nice secluded resort but not a place to come if you want to swim as the bay is very shallow and full of sharp rocks. There is some nice coral to view if you're careful and swim off the end of the jetty.
Excellent beach resort / secluded location”
Only stayed one night, but it was fabulous. The best part was taking a short boat ride to the nearby island and going snorkeling and seeing the beautiful exotic tropical fish and the corral reefs. The staff gave us bottles of scrap bread before we went, so we could feed the fish, and we were surrounded by the fish as they swam up to eat the bread out of our hands.
We loved the drive from the airport to Cocotinos which took us through some really interesting parts of the island allowing us to see the local people going about their daily lives, mostly untouched by tourism. The resort is set in an ideal location with amazing views. It's a little bigger than most we stayed at and as such the facilities seemed a little stretched, not quite enough sun-loungers or room around the pool. Having said that it did not distract from our enjoyment but probably impacts on our feeling of value-for-money. We took the boat out to the island for snorkelling and the staff were friendly and informative. The rooms were set in lovely gardens but lacked privacy in terms of noise, some rooms are inter-connecting and you can hear everything next door. The guests in the room next to us had a toddler, who thankfully slept silently but that could have been an issue! Our room was not serviced during the 2 nights we stayed which we understand was an oversight rather than the norm and again didn’t bother us but with the price of the rooms, you might expect more attentive service. However we had a lovely stay and it was great to be away from the main tourist areas in such a beautiful setting.
