Colombo Port Area hotels & accommodations

Breakfast is an omelette, bread, toast, coffee. Great location as ton's of cheap food right outside the hotel if you like Indian takeout. 10-15 minute walk from the bus station. Cheap tuk-tuk to the train station, the staff will hail the tuk tuk and work out the price for you. Overall a nice stay, no complaints for what I paid

+ good location for accessing train station (Colombo fort). Staff were friendly. Room had everything we needed. - Room was not overly clean. Building is very grotty. Despite advertising 24hr desk, staff were asleep and front door locked when we arrived. Had to call several times to be let in

Although the hotel is at a very busy road in Colombo, once you are in it is quite comfortable. The lobby area has been refurbished and the rooms are been upgraded. I had my meals twice at the restaurant the local food is well prepared and worth the money. The staff are very friendly accept for a stern looking G.M. there is a bar if you want to chill out with live music...

Our first night in Colombo, we scrambled around looking for a place, because we had missed our train and needed to spend an unexpected night in Colombo after all. Our first cab took us to the City Hotel instead, which is much more expensive and way out of our budget. Finally, we found a tuk tuk driver who took us from the City Hotel to the City Motel for 50 rupees, and...

Location - About 1km or 20 minutes walking from Colombo Fort Railway Station and Pettah Market. Can see Port of Colombo from the hotel. Many shops and restaurants around. Near Red Mosque (about 10 minutes walk). Easy access using tuk tuk. Cleanliness - Room and toilet clean. Staff - Staffs ok. Facilities - Internet was ok.
