This place is great value for money if you travel in a group, we booked the three bedroom apartment and it was HUGE!!! Could easily sleep 6 people, more if you are willing to sleep on the sofa. The breakfast wasn't too great, food was quite dry, the same applies to the meal service provided. We ordered a traditional Sri Lankan fish dish, the fish was so dry I nearly ch...

The stay at Ocean Edge Suites in Colombo is something we are going to remember. I had booked the suite through Agoda a few days earlier, and we had hired a private car with driver from Unawatuna to Colombo. We had problems finding the hotel, nobody seemed to know where it was and I knew for sure something wasn't as it should be, when the fourth person asked me: Do you...

Great hotel - clean, well lit rooms, no-fuss airport pickup, excellent breakfast buffet and a speedy check-in (even at 2am) and check out. Located on the happening Galle Road, Colpetty, so plenty to see and do within walking distance. The real standout was the upstairs restaurant - overlooking the rooftop infinity pool, and a gym with sweeping views of the ocean. Would...

It took a while for me to locate the hotel, as even the locals were unsure. However, it was actually just right there facing the main road and I could not believe I missed it! Room wise, it was the best of my stay. The interior is trendy and the room was clean and neat. It was also rather spacious (I was travelling alone). The only downside was that I could not get t...

Can't really fault much at this hotel. It was all above expectation, compared to what i had paid for. Though it was a pity they took extra charge for early checkin almost half the full room rate, while most of them time when I travel, you can expect a complimentary early check ins. Nice touch is that Movenpick chocolate stand is at the lobby sometimes, to get fre...

I think the last person on the attached review must have stayed somewhere different! The whole feeling of the place was of calm and coolness in the midst of the madness that is Colombo. Greenery and plants and running water in reception was a welcome relief at 33 degs. We were welcomed with a cold drink and then taken to our room. We booked one with some outside sp...

What a great find in the sprawl of Colombo. Staying by the sea made staying in the city a joy rather than just bearable. Especially with the roof terrace from which you can watch the sun set over the sea. It's great to have a kitchen if you are studying more than one night. Located near the best cafés and restaurants and not too far from the station what's not to like ...

The location is really good that pretty much everything is about 5 to 10 minutes away. Nestled in the heart of Colombo, in Colombo 3 area in Colpetty, Clock Inn is a mere one hour taxi ride from Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo Airport). Taxi is about 2,600 Rupees (or about USD17) for one - way. It is a 4 seater air conditioned car so imagine if there are fo...

Hands down best value for money i have encountered in SL so far. Really clean, and in a great location. the internet is quick and reliable. Breakfast is cheap and delicious. choose between a standard egg/toast type brekky, or a smoothie bowl. Dorm rooms are clean and tidy as are the bathrooms. Millennials need to start understanding co-living etiquitte, it's not accep...

Nice hotel within touching distance of the Fort area. Easy to get the bus (120) down to front of the hotel. Friendly staff who sorted a room when they hadn't received the reservation but they were very friendly and helpful sorting it out so we didn't worry. Good clean and functional rooms, clean bathrooms. Air con didn't get very cold but wasn't uncomfortable. Breakfa...

I would recommend Colpetty House to anyone looking for a quiet, clean and cozy place in the heart of Colombo. I stayed there for 2 weeks and felt very much at home. My room was spacious and and equipped with mosquito net, TV, AC, large cupboard and ensuite bathroom. Anushka, the owner of the house, was very sweet and attentive and Pali, the caretaker, looked so well af...

I have stayed at the Juliana on several occasions and find it has been improving steadily. At present, August 2019 - there is little tourism in Sri Lanka. The Juliana has upgraded the rooms. The coffee shop is excellent. The location cannot be beaten. Walk out and grab a bus, or a tuk. I recommend Pick Me. City Center is close, the National Museum, City Hall, Galle Fa...

my husband and i stayed at lake lodge for 3 nights. it was a little hard to find at first (you'll notice in sri lanka that tuk tuk and cab drivers do not like to admit when they don't know where something is - it's pretty hilarious/annoying at the same time). the rooms are a little institutional, yes, and the shower smells like moth balls, but at least everything is cl...

Usually stay at 4 to 5 star hotels but booked here at the last minute which turned out to be a good choice. Rooms are modern and clean, third level has a balcony with a outdoor spa and views to the ocean. The service at the hotel was by far the best i have recieved anywhere in the world..Do yourself a favour and book here if you ever go to Colombo

Best Location near by Galle face road , 2 to 3 Km walking distance to Galle Face green where all luxury hotels and colombo crowd gathers at evening for street food on the sea shore and Dutch Hospital now turned to restaurant . Staff is really friendly . Beira Lake is accessible by Tuk Tuk .Highly recommend for budget travellers like Back Packers. Breakfast is really ...

For a hotel of this pricing, I was not expecting such a simple and streamlined check-in process accompanied by a cold towel and a drink. The room was large and impressive. The location is fantastic and the staff were helpful and friendly at all times. The only negatives were that my room wasn't made up during the day (an oversight I believe) and on occasions there wa...

This accommodation is a 200LKR tuk tuk distance to the Fort Railway station. I needed to be as near as possible to the station, yet, affordable. This was a clean and perfect accommodation for my needs. The location is in Galle Road, which is the "fanciest" area of Colombo I must say. With nice cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. Away from the hectic traffic and crow...

The hotel is located in best location, near by shopping attractions and sight seeing locations of Colombo. Amazing experience, but only thing is WiFi, it is not available for all the rooms, but adjustable. Staff also very supportive & responsible for their guests.

Staying in Colombo is never a cheap option, even a 3-stars hotel could easily cost you a bomb (and put aside the cleanliness you're looking for)! As we have 5 of us, staying in apartment may be our alternative selection. With only half of the price we paid, we managed to get 3 bedrooms apartment - 2 with air-cons and 1 with fans, 2 toilets, 1 kitchen and 1 living ro...

Well positioned, good facilities, great airconditioning, helpful staff. They were having some problems with WiFi so connectivity wasn't good. Also would be good to keep a couple of bottles of cold water in the fridge. Small things really. Otherwise a great and central place to stay in Colombo.

We think it is a little bit overpriced but in fact all hotels in Colombo seem to be like that. We thought we would have a private bathroom but in fact it was shared with another room. The bathroom was not very clean, especially the shower. The train which is passing by on the other side of the street makes a lot of noise and starts early in the morning...

Hotel was very hard to find as I arrived at night, after 6pm and before 9am the front doors of the Lucky Plaza are locked, and you must go round the side and in through the dark basement car park. Even once up on the 8th floor there is no sign on the door or where the entrance is. The owner who lives in and opens the door for you (you only get a key to your room, not t...

We chose this place because it was relatively cheap compared to its location and surrounding hotels were at least twice as expensive. The rooms are large, although old-fashioned, but has all the basic requirements of an apartment - kitchen, fridge, hot water etc. Air-cond is functional. the best thing about the place though was how helpful the staff was. He would b...

When I arrived late from the airport, exiting a terrible situation with a taxi driver (please girls, only take taxis from the counter or you are 100% sure that its a licenced taxi driver!!) The staff was immediately there, calmed me down and were really good hosts. The room.was great, the following morning a delicious breakfast was prepared and since my Sri Lankan SIM ...

Stayed here at Zam Zam Hotel in Colombo twice during my recent visit to Sri Lanka. The first time I had booked Taibah Boutique Hotel (sister hotel it seems) which ended up being closed for renovations, so I was instead given a room at Zam Zam. The second time was on purpose! The hotel is about 100m from the sea in Colpetty. Location is fantastic, walking distance to g...

This is what they call a home stay, this wasn't made clear on Agoda. The lady or madam as her staff called her, was pleasant enough and welcoming. The house was dark, dirty and the room wasn't what we asked for, a standard double, turned out to be two single beds, with extremely uncomfortable matteress on them. There was no sockets to plug anything into. On the plus wi...

We had a lot of difficulties to check-in as there was only a security guard who didn't know anything about our booking. Hopefully our local driver could talk to him in the local language as his English was not good. The rooms were very dirty and there were cockroaches. The leaning was not done on the floor as well.
