They are good people, I received ALOT of help from them, trust me!;) ) 9. Enter the CHUNGKING MANSIONS building, Walk straight ahead find "BLOCK C" elevator on the LEFT 10. Affordable, clean, value for money, friendly staff”
It has been a pleasurable 4-night stay here with their very friendly staff and clean rooms. It is worth it for solo and budget travelers. If you want discounted tickets to Disneyland/Madame Tussaud's/Sky Terrace 428 or other attractions, speak to friendly receptionist where he'll refer you to Ms Marissa. Definitely will come back here for the next vacation trip to HK. Location-wise, MTR Tsim Sha Tsui station is right across Nathan Road at iSquare Mall and <5 min walk to MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui station. Bus stops within a few steps as well. Oh, by the way, don't be so intimidated with the ground floor of Chungking Mansions. It's not that bad, although the entrance is crowded with guys trying to offer tourists guest houses (but hey, everyone needs a job to make a living, right?). Elevators might be crowded with a queue and slow moving (but not so crowded for blocks C and E where Comfort Guest House is located, lucky!). Thank you, staff of Comfort Guest House! You certainly made my stay in HK a memorable one!
EXCELLENT LOCATION. ”
I had a pleasurable stay at Comfort. It's very clean; in fact, it's cleaned every day and linens are changed every day. The room is small but just enough for me as a solo traveller. WiFi is very fast. It has an excellent location too in Tsim Sha Tsui. Only a minute walk to MTR station, and has interesting attractions nearby. The Filipina staff, Marissa, will give you discounted tickets to almost all major attractions in Hong Kong. Neighbourhood is very lively and safe. Never mind the first floor where Indian people are many and can be smelly; they don't really mind you and don't mind them. If you need to save money while still getting a decent place in Hong Kong, Comfort is your place to be.
A great place to stay!”
In terms of location, you can't really get any closer to Kowloon Bay Harbour (guest house is roughly 200m away). Tsim Sha Tsui is in the heart of Kowloon and contains many restaurants, stores and nightlife. The staff were very friendly and allowed me to check in at 9 am. The room was very clean with all amenities that were promised. The guest house is very secure with 24 hour security cameras in communal areas as well as e-access entry cards. The metro station is conveniently situated outside on Nathan Road as is the bus stop for the Airport Express bus. Highly recommended.
Comfortable”
We were originally booked with Comfort Guest House E and transferred to Smiley Inn (part of Comfort Guest House E), we found this inn is centrally in Tsim Sha Tsui, very close to MTR and all the bus route - including airport route. June, the host was very warm and friendly, often go out of her way to help you. Very happy stay.
Its rarely to get a good service in HK”
This guest house is right in the middle of tsim sha tsui. Close to MTR exits, 7 eleven, pharmacies and restaurant but its more expensive than other places of course this is tourist area. The front desk only open at 10:30 till 3pm. I arrived at 10 pm and there was no one there, but dont worry you can press the bell door and someone will open the door for you and the staff will give u the key. If you’ve never ever stay in apartment you might get shock when you open the door. I always live in a house and enjoy the big space, im from Indonesia but live in Australia now. The bed room is small but i get used to it until 3rd day. The lady on the front desk is nice she even helped me to get a private taxi to go to the airport and cost cheaper. Its rare to find a good service in HK but this guest house is definitely recommended.
No free breakfast BUT very worth the stay”
You can't go wrong with a Filipina heading the guest lounge of a hotel. Ate (in Filipino, means, Older Sister) Marisa was very accommodating and very eager to help. The hotel has security doors guests could open with security cards. You didn't feel like you were being watched because you were free to go or come in the hotel as you please and at any time too. The room was quite small for the price but I found it homey and comfortably cozy. The room was very clean, fresh Sheets, clean towels. The air-conditioning was really cold and the water heater able to give you scalding-hot water. Location was also very good. Beneath the street is the Tsim Sha Tsui Subway which links to popular Gadget Street Shops and Prime Souvenir Buying Streets, down South it would take you to CBD Hong Kong. The station also links to East Tsim Sha Tsui Subway Station of another MTR Line. Moreover, Chung King Mansions is about 500 meters away from Harbour Front and the Avenue of Stars. As to food, breakfast isn't offered at all. When you first get to Chung King Mansion, you'll be welcomed a bunch of Indian or Chinese men too eager to help. They could get pretty annoying and would try to carry your bags for you. You just must vehemently but politely decline.
Comfort Guest House E stay - November 2-5, 2016”
It was a great experience staying for our family in staying at Comfort Guest House E. Thank you Jackie for your warm reception during our check-in even if we arrived late in the evening and for the help you extended during our stay. Thank you Ate Ludy for being nice and going out of your way to chat with us. A very BIG thank you to Ate Mareesa for all your help and for helping out your fellow Filipino during our stay in Hong Kong which made our stay more at home. To our fellow travelers a word of advise, just be realistic with your expectations and you will not be disappointed with your stay in this guest house.
This place is a unit of Chungking Mansions”
This place is confusing at first because it's a unit inside Chungking Mansions. Most of the units are named like the one we stayed, Comfort Guest House E. Don't look for a lobby or concierge because the ground floor is a market place of mostly Indian Nationals. Quite scary at first but you'll get used to it. Everytime you pass by, they will offer something to buy. Just ignore them. I felt comfortable when I heard a lot of Filipino speakers on the same floor. Elevators are everywhere and specific to the named units plus they have directories so you won't be lost. Only, the lift is so small that only a few people would fit in. Comfort Guest House E is very clean & tidy. We occupied 2 rooms, the first with 2 queen beds, the second with a queen bed. We were only 4. The room is small especially the toilet & bath, but it was ok. We're just there to sleep. The building is on Nathan Rd (main street) so it's a very busy city. A lot of restaurants, souvenir shops, money changers, 7/11, etc.
Value For Money”
Thank you so much Ms.Ludy (Filipino) for helping anything and got a discounted tickets for Disneyland and Ocean Park. The family room was very small but very very clean and comfortable. Great location at Tsim Tsa Tsui and near to the MTR station. We stayed in block E, once you get up to the hostel entered, you are feel safe. I will recommend and stay here if I come back to Hong Kong again.
Small, basic, but good.”
The room is really small and basic. Although we had a rough idea while browsing through the photos, as we arrived at the guest house, the receptionist reminded us again not to have a very high expectation. It was very compact, there is not much space for you to move around. Ideal for hardcore travellers who don't spend much time in the guest house. It is of great location in Tsim Sha Tsui, only 2mins walk to MRT station. However, as it is located within the infamous Chung King Mansion (which is a rather old and packed building), it will take some time to wait for the elevator at peak hours.
clean rooms & bathrooms; accommodating staff”
|I had a pleasant & comfortable stay at Comfort Guest House E. Our House Manager, Jackie, was very friendly, helpful & accommodating. He is really one of the assets of this establishment. The rooms are spacious enough & the comfort rooms are very clean with amenities! The receiving room was gracious and the security system installed made us feel safe. I will recommend my friends & family to stay at Comfort Guest House E. I will likewise want to return & stay at Comfort Guest House E.
COMFORT GUEST HOUSE E IS LIKE HOME AWAY FROM HOME.”
HELLO!. ive stayed in comfort guest house e with my friends last October 18 to 21, 2015.. it is memorable experience.. the staff is superb, dependable and very accommodating especial mention to ate marissa and the manager.. they are so kind. they suggest cheap and easy way how to get tourist spot in hongkong. the guesthouse itself are clean, the WiFi signal is super, the location is near to everything (mtr, fastfood, avenue of star and other tourist spot ing hongkong) it is 1 star hotel but the amenities and facilities is like 5 stars hotel.. this is my 3rd time in hongkong as a tourist but this is the best hotel ive tried. me and my friend are so great full to choose this hotel.. you will never regret to stay in this hotel.. i will surely recommend this hotel to my friends and co worker to stay whenever they want to travel in hongkong.. to ate marissa the filipina staff thank you very much for your hospitality.. to manager of this hotel thank you for your warm company.. keep up the good work and Goodluck!.. Godbless.. see you soon..
If you're in a budget trip yet looking for a good place.. THIS IS IT!”
Before anything else, don't expect in HK that the rooms are spacious. Already read about this, thus it's a matter of actually experiencing it. Comfort Guest House E is almost perfect budget hostel. It is near 2 MTR, near the sight seeing sites - Garden of Stars aka Avenue of Stars, China Ferry Station (if you're planning to travel to Macau), HK Space and Science Museum, Catholic Church and etc; value for money if you will booked in advance; the hostel itself is clean (I didn't saw any cockroach :-)); good customer service specially Ate Marissa who taught us about HK (where to dine in and other stuff) plus there's a FREE COFFEE, WATER and TEA. The not so good about this place is the ground floor and the small elevator. Why? The ground floor is an eyesore but its ok. Just walk fast and ignore the people selling stuff. As for the elevator, aside from being small, its quite slow and there's one elevator serving it.
Excellent”
The location was very near to the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station and there were a lot of shops and Money exchange counters near the building. You might initially be put off by the crowded ground floor of the building because there are a lot of people selling stuff but once you get to the guesthouse its not too bad. The room is small but it is very very clean and well kept. I want to especially mention the caretaker Jen who is a filipina lady; she was very helpful and ensured that the rooms were clean and smelled good everyday. She was also helpful in giving us good deals and tickets for the attractions. Overall it was good value for money.
clean and helpful staff”
value for money.. the location of the guest house is very convenient even 1st timer in hongkong can easily locate it as it is very near the Tsim Sha Tsu station.. It is also near to china ferry terminal if you have plans to go macau.. about the room is small but clean they do house keeping everyday..and the staff is very helpful especially ate ludy the filipina staff you can ask her how to get from one place to another, where to find food shop and shopping areas. she also can help you get cheaper tickets for disneyland and other theme parks in hongkong.
It was more than we expected :) ”
Pros: 1. We got a family room for our folks because we wanted them to be comfortable. We didn't want a small room where they'd have difficulty moving around. The Family Room turned out bigger than expected. It could actually accommodate 4 people. 2. The bathroom was still small but at least it was big enough to take a shower confortably. 3. Ate Josie, the cleaner, was very good and friendly. Rooms were cleaned everyday and sheets and towels were changed daily as well. All rooms were very well kept because of her. 4. The pillows, mattress and comforters were soft enough so they slept well. 5. Inside the bathroom, they provided shower gel, body bath and shampoo. 6. The hallway of the guest house leading to the rooms were also well kept and clean. 7. They provided hot drinking water at all times and coffee. 8. Check in and out were done easily and fast. 9. The receptionists and Ate Josie were very helpful when we asked them about nearby doctors and hospitals. Cons: 1. The building only has 1 elevator leading to the guest so we always had to wait a while to go up and down. 2. The building itself is an old one so it smells musty. 3. The building hallways leading to the guest house were not airconditioned so it was hot while getting to the room. Overall, I'd recommend Comfort Guest House to other friends and family on a budget.
Value for money”
Clean rooms. They clean it everyday. They change towels everyday. The place is very near to train stations and bus stations going to the airport. Accessible to anywhere in Hong kong via MTR. The owner is very friendly, he's an indian. :) The place is quite small but space in HK is very expensive, if you just want a place to sleep at night, it is decent enough. There are lots of foods available at the ground floor. Take note it is located at Flat C not E. We're lost when we get there because we thought we have to find elevator for E because of the E letter after Comfort Guesthouse. We did not notice the address is in flat C. :)
2ND DAY IN HONGKONG”
Our stay in Comfort Guest House E is a good experience of value for money accommodation. At first glance the hotel was very small for 3-pax, but during our stay it was enough for us to sleep and rest after a whole day activity in the city and take a bath to relax and be ready for the next days of activities. But more than the hotel rooms, were the staff who made us feel secured and safe despite the not so good impression of Chungking as most of my friends have informed me. Both Chinese landlady and Indian landboy were very friendly and trustworthy enough of our luggage (even if they were only clothes inside).
Best service, clean and accommodating staff ”
I'm very impressed with the services of comfort guest house e, for budget traveller this is really best for you, the place is very near to the mtr and other tourists spot, places to eat. Especially Ate Ludy (Filipina staff) she helped us to buy discounted tickets for Disney and Ocean Park, and she is the one who takes care of our room very accommodating all in all they the best! Definitely if we got a chance we will come back to Hongkong absolutely we will still choose Comfort Guest House God bless you CGH! And more clients to come!
