Great Hotel”
Location is quite central to the amenities around the Mount Gambier area. Happy with the clean rooms and pleasantly surprised with the electric fitted blankets on the beds for cold nights. Stayed with 2 teenagers in another room and they found the place comfortable. Great friendly and attentive staff.
Sufficient accomodation for an over night stay”
Commodore on the Park was perfect for an over night stay. Good location for nearby shops, restaurants and sites, despite been on the main road. Few noises were heard into the night. Friendly and welcoming staff. Lots of parking available on site which is a bonus. Keep this hotel front of mind when coming to Mount Gambier.
Just plain noisy”
On the 14th and 15th October 2016 my wife and I stayed at the Commodore on the Park. The hotel is nice enough. It is well located in terms of access to Mt Gambier's city centre. The staff are really pleasant and attentive. The problem with the place is its location on the main intersection in Mt Gambier where the three main roads in/out of Mt Gambier meet, These being the roads via Millicent and the road via Penola to Adelaide and the road to Melbourne. It is excessively noisy and the car and truck traffic is ongoing through the night. Our room was just metres from the Penola road. Next time we'll research location with a view to avoiding high traffic areas.
Great Place!”
Staff were extremely friendly and the room was a very very decent size. Location to sites around Mt Gambier was exceptional! Will be staying here again when I drive to the city!
Central place to stay”
I found the Commodore a nice place to stay, it's in a central location and an easy place to find, I found the room to be comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly, check in was quick and easy and check out was one of the quickest I've had, there was a little bit of highway noise but not enough to be annoying.
Nice place to stay in Mount Gambier”
The hotel is quiet and serene. Located in the town itself which is ideal for travellers visiting attractions in Mount Gambier.
Good location. All attractions and shop are closed only about 10 to 15 by car.”
We book standard room but it was very noisy, we can hear all the noise from the next door room. Best to book the Deluxe room. Our friend book the Deluxe room and it was very conformable. The restaurant in the hotel is very expensive, best to buy from outside. The blue lake and sinkhole about 5 minutes drive from the hotel is very nice. We stay 2 days but was not enough to visit Mount Gambia. 3 to 4 days is enough to visit Mount Gambia. Do not book standard room.
good for a night or two”
was good for a night or two. We were in room 6 and had quite a bit of road noise throughout the night. Would have loved a toaster or microwave in the room, however there was only a kettle and mini fridge (which was stocked full of alcohol, and a bottle of wine was on the table, not the best idea for a room with kids!). the location is out of the main strip but opposite an oval and McDonald's across the road. The play area is small and surrounded by the car parking of the guests. The area has poor quality mobile internet, however the Hotel provides free internet for guests.
Excellent”
Location and service was fantastic. Our room was facing the highway so the noise made it a bit hard to get to sleep on the first night. Blinds in the windows allowed light to filter through from cars parked right outside for a function. The room could be improved by a bit of refurbishment
Customer service needs improvement”
I booked a certain room online which was printed on my booking confirmation however when we arrived they advised I was in a lower rate room for the same price. I disputed this as per my booking and rather than apologising and putting us in the right room, the receptionist caused unnecessary stress by telling me it was out of their hands as that’s what was on their system and pretty much told me I had to sort it out myself! At the end of the day, I had a booking in writing which I expected to be fulfilled and it was a terrible start to our weekend away.
Chris & Judi from Adelaide”
We booked online and were able to requested twin beds, and, although we had booked more than eight months in advance, and for four nights, we were told that twin beds would not be available.. The shower alcove has rust from a fixture on the tiles and the cold water tap has been broken for sometime. There were cob webs in the main room and the carpet was disgustingly filthy. Have been to Mt. Gambier on several other occasions and unfortunately thought we might try a new accommodation site this time.
Exceptional”
I found the rooms were clean and had everything needed in them. The bed was very comfortable and the staff, especially Sarah were fabulous. The breakfasts are 'huge'. I did find the dinners were not what I expected. I had twice cooked pork belly, the flavor was great and the heirloom carrots amazing, but it was very rich and I couldn't finish it. Also the prawn and squid fettucine, flavor was great but the slices of squid were sooo big they looked unappetizing and therefore I didn't eat them. Overall I very good motel/
Exceptional”
Stayed here for two nights while attending the Embroiderers’ Guild of South Australia State Conference. The location was very convenient- only a short walk or an even shorter drive from the city centre. The room was comfortable and a good size. The restaurant catered for my various dietary requirements very well. Another conference attendee, who was also staying, has even more complicated requirements and the staff were very courteous and helpful in providing fantastic meals that meet our needs.
Nice hotel, well located”
The room I stayed in could use a refresh but it was clean, well located and the staff were great! One of the better hotels in town.
Always clean and tidy.”
One of the cleanest and well presented hotels in town.
everything was fine - the restaurant was very convenient for both Breakfast and dinner”
We had a standard room which was a little dated but clean and had everything we required. Very good value for your money. Restaurant had friendly staff , nice food and convenient as the day and evening we had bad weather.
book the spa suite!”
lovely comfortable warm room with excellent facilities close to the town centre and local facilities. Would definitely book a spa suite again!
Ok”
Ok stay. Bed was comfortable. Great shower. However there were spots of blood on the bathroom sink & walls which made our stay considerably less pleasant. I felt the room was a little overpriced (we has the basic) but some of the others looked nicer.
Di from Melbourne”
Excellent location and friendly staff. Single bed in the family room had sheets that were way too big for the bed. A very tired motel but ok for a night.
Excellent”
It was a great central location. Breakfast in the restaurant was lovely. Room was spacious and relaxing. Loved the chair and foot stool too!
