Best of Haad Salad”
Every stuff person is so nice - they smile every second and is very helpful even some of them don't speak english well. The food in a restaurant is very good - we tried a lot of restaurants and street food in Thailand, but Tom Yum Kung soup and chilli red fish were the best in here. Hotel managers are very friendly, they offer a bike (booked from friends), booked a boat ticket to Koh Tao, did laundry - everything you actually need they can do. Hotel has a nice pool, that is busy during a day time, they offer Thai massage, too. We booked a sea view bungalow that was nice, just water was really low so is not the best place to swim (we really offer you to visit Bottle Beach - it's perfect place to swim, or Haad Rin, that during day time is quite calm and good swimming beach). Our bungalow had jus some minuses - you cant shut the windows tightly, so a few lizards came inside; also a bed is huge, but it's two separate mattresses, so not so comfortable for a couple. Anyway, rent a bike - you can easily reach every part of Koh Phangan and come back to a calm nice place ant Haad Salad.
Close to perfect”
Charming resort at the south end of Hat Salad. The beach may not be Koh Phangan´s best beach (as Lonely Planet says), but the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. And the beach is great for snorkeling. Cookie´s is located in the hillside, with stone steps and palm trees and great view of the bay. For dinner, try Salad Hut or the grill at Buri, but skip the french place. For diving, Sail Rock Divers at Chaloklum beach. They have a stand at Hat Salad. Excellent service and professional guides. For fruit market, go past all the small markets in the "shopping street" (don´t know if it actually qualifies as a street) at the north end of the beach, and when you think there´s nothing more, continue for another 100m or so. There´s a nice, small market at the other end of the main road, with plenty of fruit and vegetables. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and would certainly choose Cookie´s again at Hat Salad. Good and attentive staff and as already said; the beach´s best location.
Great location, great rooms”
Cookies Salad is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean, the location is amazing and so is the view. It is in the northwest of the island, so walking down to the beach you get a good sunset view. It is far away from haad rin or any other party thing so if you're into that, you might wanna stay somewhere closer. It is situated on a hill, so walking in and out of your rooms is a bit of an exertion but its good after all the laziness of the holidays. Riding a bike can get a bit tricky since the slope in and out is relatively steep. Great place. Would definitely go back there. Close to Mae Haad and Koh ma.
Fantastic hotel, Great service”
cookies salad hotel is fantastic if you have one of the rooms near the beach. the rooms at the top are only for fit people who want exersice on their holidays. our room was spacious and nice decorated and had great sea vew. the restaurant was very good with nice service and fair prices. there are many restaurants near by with better prices and same quality of food. the breakfast was also nice, especialy if you like eggs. the staff were friendly and service with a smile all the time. salad beach is beautifull with good snorkelling close to the beach. looking forward to go back!!!
Wonderful staff, awesome rooms, great resort”
We absolutely LOVED Cookies. We booked 3 nights and were lucky to be able to extend for almost 3 weeks. We love the staff - they are all so friendly all the time. The rooms are fabulous with really great balconies (we stayed up the hill and it is a hike up the stairs but worth it for the views). Also the pool is wonderful - and with a great view right on the beach. The only possible negatives would be that our room didn't really get internet unless it was from the resort next door and that was spotty, and Haad Salad Beach is not great for swimming because it is so low (in March) and a bit rocky in front of Cookies. But these things didn't bother us. They can handle any tickets for you, getting a taxi pickup, and they offer kayaks and snorkeling gear for a small fee. We would highly recommend this resort.
A pleasant and hassle free stay”
Cookies is a good choice for those looking for something better than a backpackers joint, but not quite a 5 star resort. We stayed at Cookies for 6 nights, and enjoyed it very much. Breakfast was good, the view from our oversea view cottage was excellent, and the staff are all very friendly. Haad Salad is a peaceful area with a nice beach and plenty of food options.Cookies is very hilly, so be prepared for that. The lower you are, the better! Also, Wifi didn't work in our room, but works well in the restaurant and pool area. Overall, we were pleased with our stay.
Best location in Haad Salad!”
Amazing views from bar, pool and what looks like most of the rooms too! Seems to be the only hotel in Haad salad that has an elevated view of the whole beach with steps down to the pool and beach access. You can see sunset from the other end of the beach and rent taxi boats (long tail) that take you to other beaches nearby. Restaurant and drinks very well priced and staff super friendly. One thing to note is due to the hotel being on a hill the access is very steep down to the hotel and if your room is up higher you need to go up and down steep stairs to get to and from room and restaurant and beach. They do however have a motorbike that can take your luggage. Not recommended for people who can’t do steep pathways and stairs.
The perfect beach getaway with the perfect view!”
Initially booked for 2 nights, we ended up staying for the entire beach portion of our trip! Perfectly located on one of the best beach of Koh Phangan (Haad Salad), the view from any of the rooms is simply astonishing. Yes, the complex is located on a hill which implies that you end up walking up and down stairs all the time, so may not be suitable for all. The rooms are fairly big and very clean, the bar/restaurant is very convenient, they make awesome drinks, the breakfast was generous and very good, and they also have that great view. Finally, the staff was always very helpful and always answered our questions/requests with a huge smile. We strongly recommend and will definitely be back !
This place is a little far away from the centre of town, and even further than Haad Rin. However if you're looking for peace and quiet, an incredible beach view, and friendly staff, then Cookies Salad is perfect, for a very affordable price. Take note you WILL want to have a motorbike if you stay here, because constantly taking the taxi trucks can become quite expensive.
This hotel is located in the Salad beach of Koh-Phangan which is on the far north side. It is far from the Hadrin area which was a good thing for us (honeymoon couple). The hotel itself is very nice, they register everything you do so you don't need to pay all the time. The beach is great for snorkeling and diving. The rooms have very good airconditioner and shower which was a bless in the heat of Thailand. We really liked it.
We had a fantastic stay at Cookies Salad. It provided us with everything we wanted and it is definitely paying the extra for a beachfront room. The hotel itself is on a steep hill so wouldn't be ideal for people with small children and pushchairs unless you have a sea view/beach front room. Overall we loved Cookies Salad so much we extended our stay from 2 nights to 5!
Great views and relaxation”
Cookies Salas Hotel is situated down a steep pathway right at the end of Salad beach. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is OK, but in general all the food and drink is good and served in a beautiful open veranda looking over the beach. Prices are good too. There as beach chairs to lazy on on the sand and many more surrounding the pool which is just up from the beach looking out at the sea. This is your best bet for an early morning swim as the tide is out. However swimming in the sea can be done from afternoon to evening. You do get a few families here, so the pool might had a few excited kids in it from time to time. I staying in on of the basic rooms. It was nicely done with my own hammock and table and chairs out on the balcony. Bed was comfortable and they supply you with both bathroom and beach towels. Lighting in bathroom is not great and getting the hot water to work was a little bit of hit and miss. The door to my room was not the easiest to lock and even when locked it could sometimes be opened. I also managed to break the key, but the hotel were understanding. I had one incident which confused me a little - I got back to my room to find a man in it fixing the AC. I had not requested this and it had not been mentioned to me upon my arrival /check-in. It would have been nice if this had been done before my arrival (I arrived midday) or asked when was a good time to have this work done. I had to wait about 30mins till they were finished which is normally not problem, but I had returned to my room wanting rest and to shower etc after walking and swimming for a good few hours. Also when booking I chose the option of paying all cash upon arrival. However when I arrived I was informed that the hotel had already taken the deposit from my bank account and I only had to pay the rest in cash. Agoda states that this would only be done on a no-show basis. This was a little frustrating as I did not wish cash to be taken from my accou
Friendly staff, good location ”
The staff at cookies were very helpful and made our time there v.enjoyable. The rooms were good, clean- we did have a bit of problem with pests but you can expect that in Thailand and the staff were very accommodating. Great place to stay in haad salad and you can organise anything you want from there. Also have a taxi service to pick up and drop off! The pool is right on the beach.
Fabulous spot with great vibe”
We came at a friend's recommendation and really enjoyed our two-night stay at Cookies Salad. Really wished we could have stayed longer. It is not too close to the main pier and entertainment areas so it is a place to come and relax. We rented a motorbike through the hotel to explore Ko-Phanang which gave us the best of both worlds: a chill spot to relax and access to the more bopping bars in town. When you arrive, I recommend organising pick-up and drop-off from the pier through the hotel which has better rates than shared taxis. Taxis often don't take you all the way to the door of the hotel, which is accessed by a bumpy dirt road, so if you are carrying luggage this part might be a pain or part of the fun depending in your attitude. I would definitely recommend it for couples. The hotel also seems to be popular with families with children as the staff is very kindly with the kids and laid back. The smoothies and breakfast at the hotel was mostly good. They offer Western and Thai-style food which is mostly good although some dishes have way too much oil.
Would stay here forever”
Beautiful location on Haad Salad beach, which is excellent for snorkeling! The best we found on the island, in fact. The room was very modern and clean, and the view was lovely! The breakfast was great, small buffet. There are lots of food choices around here, stores nearby, and things to do, and many great sunsets. The road down to the hotel is very steep, wouldn't recommend for novice motorbike riders. All in all, this place was a 10!
Loved Cookies! Such a great experience! ”
My friend and I stayed in the family room (because it had two beds), and we loved everything about our stay. Very clean, had everything we needed, and the free breakfast buffet was delicious! Service from reception, restaurant, etc was welcoming and very helpful. We were greeted upon arrival and multiple men helped us carry our luggage to our room. As others have mentioned, it’s located on the side of a very steep hill, so you’ll find yourself going up and down some intense inclines over the course of your stay. We considered it a great workout! ;) But, for this reason, Cookies has the best views and restaurant setting of any other spot on the beach, hands down! The interiors and patios of the bungalows are adorable. One thing I have to mention is that these charming bungalows are made of wood that has some gaps/cracks in it, inevitably. I have a phobia of geckos, and we had small one sneak into our bathroom, and one very large one outside on our porch above the window (we accidentally left the porch light on that night, which we later realized attracted bugs to feed on). I mention this as I know I can’t be the only person who is creeped out by these critters, and also to say that after asking the gentleman at the reception to try and get rid of the small in indoors, he sent a couple maintenance guys to check everywhere and spray some insect repellent throughout. No buggy meals, no geckos, right? I asked them to spray again near my bed for peace of mind, and they let me hang on to the bottle of repellant for the remainder of our stay. Did it do anything?! Who knows. But the effort made to put me at ease was very appreciated! We enjoyed the slow pace of Salad Beach and our stay here so much that we extended by one day. I would highly recommend to anyone!
Relaxing with a great view”
We stayed at Cookies's for 3 nights. We had the poolside room (room1). Initially we had booked 2 wooden panorama rooms as we have 2 adults and 2 teenagers and didn't think we had the option of 1 room. When we arrived, the rooms we had booked looked great but they are at the top of the resort which meant a steep climb to eat, go to the beach or use the pool. Our youngest daughter (15 yo) has a disability and would have really struggled to constantly walk up and down. When we asked for a room lower down for us they offered us the room by the pool and said all four of us could stay in the one room which was fabulous. However, they only really agreed to this when I said I was happy to still pay for both rooms we had booked. It would have been nice if they worked out the price difference (pool room was more expensive but not the equivalent of 2 rooms). I had already paid and it was my decision not to pursue it but would have been nice if they offered. The room was clean, comfortable and had the best pillows of our trip (if you like soft pillows). The staff were really friendly and helpful, just don't be in a rush...The pool was fantastic. The beach was ok for swimming at the other end and it was possible to go snorkelling out on the point. There was lots of fish and coral, some of the best snorkelling we had seen on our trip. We swam out but it would have been about 300m to swim. You can hire a boat if necessary. We hire fins from Cookies's (50B) but had our on masks (you could hire these for another 50B). Salad beach is definitely in the quiet section of Ko phangan but there are quite a few restaurants to choose from. No real shopping or street food here though. If you want to relax on the beach or by the pool, this is a great spot to come.
I stayed in cookies salad for my family trip. My 61 years old Dad and my 59years old mom really like this place even it quite difficult for their walk because of the location is in the hill. We were really love the room, the pool and all staff. The surrounding are very nice with a view. I love to drink beer in the balcony at the restaurant. The warm welcome from both of their owner was very memorable. I were read a lot of comment in agoda and really agree with it. I am not surprised that why this resort alway get the scroll more than 8. Fabulous!!!
Great stay to relax”
Nice little charming beach with a few resorts but the beach has never been crowded. Nice little pool and beautiful bar/restaurant terrace! Great rooms with an even greater view over that stunning beautiful little bay. Nice staff and great hospitality, always helped as much as possible and prepared early breakfast for us leaving at 6am before the kitchen has opened. We are already missing it! Great money for value ratio! (although they are not offering a cookie salad;) )
Love cookies, it’s such a great resort. Haad Salad beach is fantastic, I really couldn’t recommend this place more if you want to go to Koh Phangan and dip in and out of the party scene or have a really relaxed time. Only thing is it’s about an hour outside Haad Rin so perhaps the location might be a bit too isolated for some.
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
