The Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is a fabulous hotel that exudes a rustic and maritime ambiance for a magnificent, historic stay in Copenhagen. The hotel is a fortress-looking warehouse from 1787 with plenty of history. The Battle of Copenhagen in 1801 raged just outside of this building. But this is no archaic hotel. Copenhagen Admiral Hotel perfectly combines the past and present with complete refurbishing while respecting the original architecture. Gorgeous pine beams permeate the 366 rooms and the rest of the hotel while stunning stone archways can be found in several of the public areas. The teakwood furniture and fittings are classic but modern, maritime-inspired designs. No two rooms are alike. Exquisite bathrooms are decorated with terracotta Italian tiles. Across the waterway is the Copenhagen Opera House, and nearby attractions include the Amalienborg Palace and the gardens of Amaliehaven. For an amazing stay in one of Europe's most intriguing hotels, step aboard the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel.

Great stay, very helpful staff”
Great and very unique hotel with traditional looks (not cookie cut rooms like many mass-market chain hotels). Breakfasts while a bit expensive and closing too early for tourist travelers, are copious with lots of choices and acceptable qualities. Very clean and staff freindly to help even at 3AM in the morning to printout boarding pass and other documents. Thank you. If we visit Copenhagen again, will try for sure to stay there if it will still be within budgets.
Great service, great location, super comfortable ”
Loved my stay here. Beautiful room, wonderful timber - a place of heritage. Staff were awesome, lovely lady on reception checked me in & suggested a great local bakery for coffee. Would definitely stay there again.
Loved the ship theme. Hotel was very conveniently located, staff were friendly and nice enough to give me a room upgrade without extra payment. Room was clean, spacious, nicely designed, and the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay again next time I come to Copenhagen.
Admiral Hotel - Excellent Location”
The admiral is located right on the water; walking distance to the little mermaid, Nyhavn, Kastellet, Round Tower, Church of our Savior and of course, the infamous freehold area, Christiania. Staff was always smiling and very helpful. Communications of course (in English) was no problem. I would go back anytime.
This is in an arts area of Copenhagen close to many restaurants and theatres etc. The staff was very friendly. The buffet breakfast was great..a good variety. The cold cuts and cheese were excellent. It’s a ten minute walk to the little mermaid. The renovations were well done and the hotel looked great. The only downside was no gym facilities.
Nice building, but overrated. ”
We had a standard double room. It was small, but had too much furniture for the size of it. It was warm and had no air conditioning. They had a nice big basin and large towels that were good for hand washing. Breakfast was not included. It’s close to Bus 66 stop St. Annae Plads. We requested a wake up call, but we failed to get one. We have stayed in 3 different hotels in Copenhagen this trip and I think this is the most overrated.
Great for the summer time on the water!”
Great location just off the water which is busy when the weather is warm and Nyhavn is just nearby. They were remodelling but made efforts to accommodate people for any disturbances. Too bad there was no gym in the hotel but that may not be an issue for most.
Too hot. ”
No ac in the room so it was hot. There was also some mix up in their system so i was double charged for my booking. The room they gave me was also smaller than the one in the photos so we kept bumping into the bed or the wall.
Good hetel in good location ”
It is good hotel for traveler who want to sightseeing Copenhagen. If hotel has bicycle for guests, it should be better.
A nice and friendly Hotel”
My group - (Cousins) totally enjoyed our stay in Copenhagen Admiral Hotel for it's location...beautiful sidewalk restaurant by the Canal, It's Michelin Star restaurant, excellent Staff, from the check in, to the safe keeping of our group's luggages, and their very caring attitude! I will be back with my family maybe next year! Congratulations Copenhagen Admiral Hotel!
We booked junior suits for two nights of our first visit to Copenhagen. The hotel certainly has the beautiful historical look from outside and given the high rating we decided to give it a try. Its location gives a convenience of walking distance to most of the sightseeings meanwhile has nice surroundings. However it’s quite over priced and the 4 star is a very generous rating given its basic facility. The room is quite old and dusty, although the daily cleaning vacuums the floor the dust on furniture and corners isn’t great for sensitive skins. We tried dinner and breakfast at Salt, an over priced restaurant e.g. a small fried mushroom ball is priced at DKK50. Is tips mandatory in Denmark? We were informed a tip was added to our restaurant bill during hotel checkout while we didn’t put it down at the dinner. At last the hotel staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel was even fully booked the night before we arrive. We will try somewhere else if we come back visit this city again.
Great location BUT.....read on”
There is NO air conditioning we needed to sleep with the windows open and there is street noise and party goers. There was a private party at the hotel until 2am the first night. The first room they put us in, on the second floor, was extremely noisy so we asked to be moved and they put us on the 6th floor which was good. We had a fan but still the windows needed to be open all night. Staff was very helpful. Had a nice breakfast there.
Beautiful hotel on the waterfront”
This hotel is a large renovated grain warehouse from the 18th century, with enormous wooden beams and expansive views over Copenhagen harbor. The rooms are recently remodeled and very comfortable. The restaurant and cafe are excellent and the buffet breakfast is the best I've ever experienced. Overall, an outstanding option for a visit to Copenhagen!
An experience within Copenhagen”
Such a historic, beautiful hotel, yet with modern decor. Having the room with a sea view was well worth. Room was very spacious and bed very comfortable. Great atmosphere and surroundings. Staff very helpful. Close to Nyhavn canal and public transportation.
Unique building and great location”
Visited Copenhagen for the Christmas markets and to see a Pet Shop Boys concert. The Admiral hotel was right across from the concery hall and just down the road from the Christmas booths do it was a great choice. we upgraded to a room facing the water which was great. You can only get these rooms by calling the front desk directly. You can't book water view rooms online - even from their website. We thought by booking a deluxe room that was water view but it's not! Water view definite worth the 200 Danish around upgrade. Hotel itself was really interesting architecturally - exposed beams in the room really were neat. Booked the personal space room - private steam and sauna - nice touch. Great overall and reasonably priced for Copenhagen which overall we found to be on the expensive side.
We found the room comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful. The location was excellent for our needs - a variety of cafes around the corner, good size room and close to the city centre and tourist attractions.
Good Location but small and warm room”
Location - Nice view, near to many popular tourist attractions Room - rather small for two, no air-con so felt hot, bed and pillow too soft (backache next day) Breakfast - normal taste, not much choice Staff - friendly and most of them can speak English well
A large hotel, none the less staff are attentive to your needs and friendly. We stayed on the 5th floor and the room staff greeted us with a cheery hello every morning. Upon check in in we were upgraded to a water view room that afforded a view of Sweden in the distance. Room size is about average with a fair bit crammed in, but it wasn't uncomfortable or unpleasant. The Hotel could not be better located to Nyhaven, Castles, the little Mermaid, with shopping a short walk away. The hotel has a very up market feel and the exposed beams gave it a unique feeling. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Way too expensive for what you get”
The Admiral Hotel is an avarage hotel in a nice building. The roomas are small, the food is not bad but very expensive (including the breakfast), No pool, No Gym (they send you to a gym which is quite far from the hotel and you need to pay for it). There are constructions in front of the hotel which make crazy nise every morning and during all day. There are cunstruction inside the hotel - I could not sleep after 8am. The hotel is quite far from the city centre - 20 minutes walking. No subway station close to the hotel. and after all of that - the price is high. Just choose another hotel.
My stay was quite good. The hotel is in a very good location in Copenhagen, close to many tourist sights, restaurants, and bars. The only problem I had was that my room (in the top floor) was a bit noisy when it rained or was too windy outside (common during winter time).
