Great Location, Value and Hygiene”
What can I say? Location, Location, Location. The bad things first: no starbucks close by, no shopping centres nearby, unheated swimming pools... The good things: The bus from Singapore (Five-star) comes straight direct to Copthorne Hotel (leaves the hotel too). The hotel is situated in the highest point of Cameron Highlands, giving it a divine view of the sunrise from virtually every room of the hotel. The furnishing was minty new and the toilet (not exactly a Turkish bath) is clean and pristine for my use in this 3d/2n trip. No aircon, but hey, who needs aircon in the highlands? The staff are friendly, I must commend Josephine in particular who was particularly reassuring when, on my way back to Singapore, I was a little antsy when my bus was approximately 10 minutes late (typical city-living neuroticism acting up again). My advice is to get the Titiwangsa tours (605)4911-452 to show you around because Cameron Highlands is a huge sprawling vortex of mountains and tea plantation. My guide Logash was particular nice to drive me out to Tanah Rata to utilize the only Maybank ATM machine in the mountain. Am ever so appreciative. To round it all up, the coffee served every morning for the hotel breakfast (which comes at a pittance of a top-up with the room), is thick and good 'grog' guaranteed to add a dose of 'uumpph' (sorry BOH) to your highland experience. And anyway who comes to the *Highlands* to shop in malls or swim in hotel pools or drink in fancy starbucks. Save that instead for daily living in the lowlands.
very excellent customer service n great hotel”
We booked a total of 5 rooms, as it is non peak period, the staff at reception , a guy, i forgot to ask his name, served us on 14 jul 15 at ard 11 plus am, he is attentive to our request n showed us the hotel rooms availability through the computer, he slowly explained to us our rooms n the configurations as we hv a few configs on the room request, also we paid for the 2nd day breakfast n he even config the breakfast voucher separately for our convenience, some of us even hv request on 2 keys per room, he will not hesitant to acceed to our request, we were v satisfied n happy with the service copthorne hotel hv rendered to us 😊, we were being assigned to 10th floor n some rooms comes with a balcony, which we were informed by the recep staff, this is the first time i have encounter such great service with copthorne n i really appreciates what they hv given. 😊, this is also a good thing to come during non-peak period so they can be very attentive to us. 😊. The rooms comes with fridges, and they even provide us with an extra baby cot upon our request at no extra cost. We hv a great time at cameron highlands during our staycation with copthorne with such cooling weather, beautiful flowers n scenery, most importantly, everyone in our group of 11 persons including children, all enjoyed our stay with friendly n helpful staffs of copthorne hotel.we will come back and stay with this hotel again if there is any chances. Thank you copthorne for your detailed n great service, have a great day. 😊
Its really superb nice place to stay! ”
Very satisfied with copthorne's staff. They were so friendly, and helpfully. The facilities at this hotel were complete. They have a swimming pool with sauna part. Their staff at ayerspa also good! I got very nice serve in traditional massage in 45min for rm98 only. Have many of Malay and Chinese restaurants outside the hotel. Easy to go to Pasar Malam Brinchang and a famous Kea Farm by walk in 😘 Last but not least i love copthorne hotel so much! I miss Cameron Highland because i have nice place to stayed. TQ Copthorne hotel. Good work!
awesome place apart from traffic jam during weekends”
great location great view from the room#1303 I stayed at. Traffic around Copthorne hotel during weekend is absolute mayhem because of weekend market nearby. Tanha Rata which is about 8km away, takes at least 1 hour during this markets. The taxi fare doubles from 25 ringgits to 50 ringgits. Because of traffic, the Taxis are reluctant to come up to Copthorne area as well. Apart from this, great place. I loved my time at the hotel and in Cameron Highlands. ** Fun fact** Cameron highlands does not make any Green Tea or Oolong tea. Only makes Black tea. Any Green Tea sold as being from Cameron is from Japan.
Copthorne Hotel 2 Bed Apartment”
I stayed here with my group of friends. We had to request for an extra bed and it was provided for us. The condition of the apartment was very good to us. There was a balcony that came with the apartment and we found that to be an added benefit to the apartment. The hotel also provided us with WiFi. We requested for Buffet breakfast and found it to be pretty good. It has a good variety of food ranging from local dishes such as nasi lemak to english type breakfast like scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. It is highly recommended to try the breakfast at least once. The hotel comes with enough facilities too. It has a pool table, foosball table and an arcade machine at the lobby of the hotel. There is an indoor swimming pool and a gym too. The swimming pool is quite small. The gym seems to be adequate enough to have a light gym session. There are enough equipment and also plenty of space to exercise inside. Only downside to this hotel is the location to me. There are restaurants very near the hotel that open til quite late but i would say that the better restaurants are at tanah rata. They have more restaurants there too. The distance isn't far but the traffic from the hotel to tanah rata was really bad for me during the time of my stay. It would sometimes take up to an hour just to travel a few kilometers but I didn't mind it that much. The hotel also has a cafe near the reception. They sold cakes and coffee. We had chicken pie, Chocolate cake ,cheesecake and latte. All of them were really really good. I would recommend to anyone who stays here to try the cafe at least once. The price is quite normal for a cafe i would say but the cakes are really good and so is the coffee. The name of the cafe is 18°Celsius. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at Copthorne Hotel. I would definitely stay here again if i visit Cameron Highlands again.
Best Hotel In Cameron Highland”
This is the best hotel to stay in Cameron Highland for us. There are some shops and eateries just round the corners of the hotel. Bee and butterfly farms are about 1Km walk away. A strawberry farm just at the entrance of the hotel compound. Raju's strawberry farm is just some 200m walk away. Boh tea plantation is some 6 to 7 km walk. Mossy Forest on the same route to Boh Tea Estate. Best buy a Cameron day tour if you do not own transport. But the hotel is located 8km from Brinchang town. You need a transport if you wish to have meals in the town . You could try the eateries just near the hotel. But for us with our own car, this is our favorite hotel. We stay 2 to 3 times a year in this hotel. Cameron Highland is our favorite weekday cool resort. Fridays and Saturdays would be jammed with cars.
BEST HOTEL IN CAMERON BRINCHANG”
Best hotel in Cameron Brinchang , but best you have a car or transport arrangement because it is several kilometers to Brinchang town. However, there are many attractuons and eateries within walking distance of 1 km. For further distance, may be hire a taxi or tours could be arranged by the hotel. This is the hotel we always stay when we drive to Cameron highland a couple of times a year. At least stay for 2 nights. Go visit the Palas Boh Tea Plantation. The Mossy Forest is on the same route. Bee farm and butterfly park within walking distance of 1 km . Have Chinese meals near the walking distance of hotel. Or drive to Brichang town if you have a car. My son used the gym. Rooms are pretty quiet from the main road traffics. This would be our 1st choice to stay at Brinchang.
Lovely Hotel & Great Location”
The location is great, although it was a bit far from Brinchang Town (where you can find the only Pasar Malam in Cameron Highland every Saturday afternoon), you can still walk to the nearest market Kea Farm. Here you can find everything from flowers, strawberries, vegetables, fruits, souveniers, all type of cartoons pillow and many more. What more, you will also find the nearest strawberry farm (just 10 minutes walk from hotel lobby) where you can pluck your own strawberries! The hotel itself, no worry! By the name of "Equatorial" itself you can rely on their world class wuality and services. Breakfast buffet was great, you have local and western and choice of foods and beverages. I will definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to visit Cameron Highland!
Perfect hotel for a perfect Camerons holiday”
I took the Premium Deluxe room, on the top-most floor (13th) facing the mountains of vegetable farm. Awesome view in the mornings! The room was spacious and clean. The TV channels were well-selected (with Nickelodeon Jr included). The location is very central to good eats, vegetable market and even Rose Centre. I am definitely staying at this Copthorne each time I am in Camerons. Thank you Copthorne Cameron Highlands for making my holiday an amazing one!
Big 2 room apartment with reasonable price, fully equip with fridge and microwave, plate and cup. So relax when u can have a cup of Cameron tea in the cool weather at the huge balcony with very nice mountain view. Not to miss their hot water swimming pool! it is at the main building next to our apartment, at first we so worried after swimming we need to walk back to our apartment with wet cloth in this cool weather, but we found out that there is a bathroom with very very hot rain shower just beside the swimming pool! my girl really enjoy it so much! thank you Copthorne Cameron Highland.
Great Hotel, Great Staff”
It was my first time in Cameron Highlands and this hotel was a good choice. The executive room was perfect. Breakfast was great. I saved a ton of money on travel by being patient and waiting for the local bus (Regal Bus Company - an orange coloured bus). One tip I got from the driver was that the bus company doesn't work on weekends due to the intense traffic caused by local tourists and their private vehicles. So , if you want to go to Cameron Highland then please plan your visit on weekdays only. I did use a taxi a couple of times and even the taxi drivers recommended not to bother visiting Cameron Highlands on the weekends. If you are patient you can catch the local bus every hour. The Bee farm, Rose garden and strawberry picking farms are walking distance the hotel. i took the local bus to the Lavendar farm. I had to use a pricey taxi to visit the Boh tea center / estate. I did see some foreign tourists trekking to the tea estate which would be fun if you are fit and have time.
Overpriced for the upkeep”
I rarely break over 100 USD per night especially in Malaysia where you can find clean and cheap hotels almost anywhere. The location was wonderful to be able to go out uour balcony and breathe fresh air and nice views at the top. It is with walking distance to visit some honey/ strawberry farms and the market which was the reason I chose this hotel. The buffet breakfast was varied and tasty. The staff was helpful when I encountered some problems with my pickup. However for the price, the room is dated and the wooden door in the bathroom is literally rotting away with whole parts gone. There are dead bugs and in my room as well. For the price I expected a higher standard of cleaniless. I noticed Cameron highlands is in process of building more hotels. Perhaps it is time for the Copthorne to rethink how it should stop cutting corners.
Excellent location with awesome facilities!”
Copthorne Cameron Highlands isvalue for money and the staffs are very polite. The room where we stayed comes with great views and it;s very clean. There is a swimming pool nearby and the wifi connection and speed was excellent. Overall i highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stat in Cameron Highlands.
Warm and Friendly Service”
This was my second time visiting Cameron Highlands. The first time around, I noted that Equatorial was a landmark and it was well-accessible and the rates were reasonable. I made it a point to come back and stay at the Equatorial the next time round. Price-wise, the hotel is in the mid range. As I was staying during a Peak period, this meant I was paying pretty much the peak season price. Amenities, the hotel has an indoor heated swimming pool that I was quite interested to try, however the size of it was a bit of a deterrent. It was only the size of a standard hotel room. And depth of 4 meters max. Bearing in mind that indoor, heated pools are deathly expensive, I knew this was the best for the price. The food at the restaurant was OK and they do have a weekend steamboat buffet in the chinese style restaurant which is worth the somewhat premium price. You have to try that at least ONCE. Now you have to bear in mind that this is quite an old hotel despite appearances. It has probably been there for the past 15 years (estimation only). For it's age, it is very well kept and neat. I did find one or two things to niggle about. One was that the shower hose did not really stay put on its holder. But the rainbath style alternate hose did surprise me a lot and it worked just fine. Heated water also worked perfectly, never being too hot for use. Some hotels do not monitor the heat of the water and could scald visitors, but not the Equatorial. The second niggle was probably that there was one or two sightings of little cockroaches in the hotel room, but this was not a major concern as the room is kept as clean as humanly possible. Overall, this was an excellent hotel for the price and I will definitely stay at the Equatorial again.
Will come back again”
Procs spacious room and nice view from top mountain. Location just near to the morning market where u able to buy Cameron veges, strawberry, teas etc. Breakfast variety of choices, food ok, add on at RM25/pax for hotel guest. Cons Smelly old carpet. everywhere in the hotel. I can smell badly in the room. Overall are ok, still my preferred choice to stay in Copthorne hotel whenever I travelled to Cameron highlands, will come back again.
Recommended 4* Hotel in Cameron Highlands”
Due to an ongoing project here in Cameron Highlands, I had to stay frequently for anything between 2 nights to 5 nights per week every week for the past 2 months. Had tried various hotels & service apartments here but my favorite is Copthorne. Recently, I booked the Superior Room but Copthorne gave me a free upgrade to Deluxe Room when I checked in. Maybe it was due to it being low season currently rather than me being a regular. But whatever the reason, it was a nice touch. Various points I liked about Copthorne :- 1. Cleanliness (Excellent housekeeping services) 2. Rain Shower (Strong pressure with consistent hot water) 3. Fairly Good WiFi 4. Ceiling Fan (Which most hotels here do not provide) 5. Bathtub (Only available in Deluxe Room) 6. Ironing Board 7. Decent Spread of Buffet Breakfast (Salad, Nasi Lemak, Porridge, Bread, Jam, Butter, Turkey Ham or Chicken Sausages, Pastries, Omelettes, Fruits etc) Highly recommended and if you are booking through Agoda during low season, value for money too. Roland Leong
Bang for Bucks!”
This was by far one of the best stays i had in Cameron Highlands. Location is fantastic (make sure you opt for high floor overlooking the mountains), Room (Executive Suite) was clean, Furnishing was nice (opt for the room with bathtub); staff were very responsive and friendly; Breakfast was good for it's price the downside is location (there's a market which causes heavy traffic towards the hotel), especially on weekends if you are heading from Brinchang town all in all, will definitely stay again!
Great hotel to relax”
NOTE: we rented their 2 bedroom apartment and not a suite so this review is mostly for the apartments. This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in recent memory. The ambiance of the hotel, from the exterior look to the interior design of the lobby and the room coupled with the cool, quiet atmosphere really made me feel relaxed from the moment we drove up to the hotel until I left. I would definitely recommend starting at their apartments for a group. It's affordable and far enough from the main city to give you peace and quiet but also close enough so that is only a short 10 min ride if you want to explore the town. The restaurant was a little pricey so we didn't eat much from there. If you walk down the road there's a great Chinese restaurant where we ate lunch and dinner. But the one time we did eat at the restaurant, the food was good (albeit not justifiable for the price). Overall I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Cameron highlands. In fact my stay was so good that we decided to stay an extra night!
Excellent Room and Services”
I love this hotel. I purposedly booked a different hotel for my 2nd night at Cameron Highlands just to differentiate between hotels. This is definitely one of the best hotels I've even had. The location is fantastic, above the Brinchang and Tanah Rata town. So the traffic is less congested and less people. Its located near the rose garden, butterfly park, and the Sg. Palas BOH Tea Plantations (a must go). The interior of the room are nicely done, basic amenities are there for us to use. Great service. Great food. Definitely will come back again!
Value for $$ - nice location”
Overall Excellent! But if the first attendant staff allows us to check in earlier would be much appreciated. Restaurant food 😫😫 Cost reasonable but full cooked my steak n mostly came in salty . Would strongly recommend Copthorne Cameron Highland as Left Right of main road , able to access to some shopping centre/market by walk.
