Amazing nature-inspired resort!!!! ”
i loved this resort so much, i will definitely recommend it to all of you and my friends. entering the resort was a nice surprise, lush trees and greenery everywhere. being on ko samui, it was nice to get away from the "modern" style of rooms we had seen in bangkok; coral bay resort used a theme which complemented the island which it was situated on. just walking through the resort, to our room after day outings/dinners was enjoyable, there is so much to see on the resort! staff were very helpful and the little touches made the difference in our stay! i remember after the maids cleaned our room we saw tropical flowers beside the bed which was delightful. the location is prime in respect to a beach view. however, the stretch of beach behind the resort is difficult to swim in, there is a good amount of shells, debris and seaweed in the shallow waters. you want the main beach which is down a bit further along the coast line. dinner is close by, only a 5 minute walk down the road. oh and if you are not a lover of futon-style (very firm) mattresses, then their bedding may be a problem for you. overall coral bay resort is a sight to see in itself, and a very enjoyable place to reside on ko samui.
gorgeous resort with oversized Thai style villas”
loved this gorgeous resort. one of the best we have seen on our month in Thailand. close to the airport, only 5 min cab ride. did not hear planes at all. beach very rough and small. views lovely however. Pool lovely. bar and restaurant with seaview a wonderful spot. villas were huge with a double bed PLUS a Thai sofa large enough for an adult if three. we really enjoyed the location and wish we had more than one night on Samui. we would for sure go back to Coral Bay Resort.
Privacy in the heart of everything.”
We had never been to Samui before so were not 100 per cent sure what area to stay in, so initially we were staying on the north coast, which while nice was just too far away from Chaweng beach - where everything is and where everything happens. So we left our original accommodation to enjoy a night in Chaweng and the second we saw Coral Bay we were thrilled. Beautiful spacious Bungalow with lovely decor. Nice bathroom, and a huge balcony, we did not have an ocean view but it didnt matter as the whole resort is littered with beautiful trees. We didnt eat at the resort but certainly drank at the bar which was also really nice, with some couches to lounge on and it backs right onto the beach. A really terrific restaurant close to some of samui's more beautiful restaurants and bars, tuk tuk may be needed but not necessary. Due to too big a sleep in I missed breakfast but my partner informed me it was to die for. I was not happy.
Sweet and helpful staff!”
I stayed with a friend at Coral Bay Resort for a 3 day weekend getaway and were impressed with everything about the place. The bungalows are placed in a beautifyl tropical garden area and you sleep to the sound of frogs and cicadas chirping away. The staff is super helpful and will assist with anything be it arranging day trips, finding means of transportation or recommending restaurants. The bungalows have a beautiful authentic look and feel to them, resulting in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast is great, but the location of the hotel means it is a little bit of a hazzle getting to downtown as you have to get a taxi.
This is paradise in paradise. Fantastic”
We stayed at Coral Bay from 30th March for 3 Days (should have been longer). It is really a lovely place. My wife called it paradise in paradise. Accommodation is in the form of spacious and independent wooden bungalows. It has a massive bed, hard, but the most comfortable sleep I've had in years. A great bathroom with skylights, the shower is like a mini waterfall and plants growing in the corner. The bungalows are located in a tropical garden that gives each bungalow its individual privacy. Breakfast was quite good. The beach was just a couple of minutes walk from our bungalow. Only negative, rocks and coral directly in front of resort and must be careful of the sea urchins, very painful if stood on. Good sand banks 20 metres left and right of resort for swimming.
Favourite hotel, such helpful staff”
We absolutely loved Coral Bay and wished we had stayed here for the entirety of our stay in Samui, we were here for 2 nights. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff. This hotel was all separated bungalows which were large and had a great island feel to them. It was right near the beach although the beach wasn't that great for swimming in. It was lovely and quiet. Some people say it was walking distance however we got taxis into town each time for about 200 Baht...would recommend to everyone and will be back when I get back to Samui one day!
the beach bungalows at coral bay were huge and feature an amazing waterfall shower too. situated in the quieter part of ko samui, but within walking distance of more lively beaches, shops and nightlife. great service and excellent beach restaurant with 5* quality food all added to the great location and an amazing stay. would definitely recommend a stay here.
Awesome stay at a beautiful resort!”
we had a great stay at the coral bay resort! gorgeous view and well kept grounds. the food was awesome! our bungalow was awesome! the staff were very nice and made sure everything was perfect for us during our stay! i highly recommend this resort and i plan on going back in the future!
Private resort with private beach”
We loved the stay in Coral Bay, it´s silent nice garder resort with great beach. For some of you, who need to check your emails time to time - this resort have great wifi, 8mb/s on the beach is realy something what suprised me and it´s free! Near Chaveng beach with bars and restarants, definitely will come back again.
Great value in an otherwise overpriced market”
While the hotel is one of the older hotels in Samui and its tropical beach style not the latest in hotel architecture it is truly a hidden gem and great value in the Samui hotel market. Very nice beach and pool area, close to Chaweng while at enough of a distance to avoid the noise and crowds. Rooms are very large and comfortable and it's all set in a nice beach garden setting with plenty of space and privacy. Service is solid, food is great and they also have a very nice spa.
Family holidays at coral bay resort”
Coral bay resort has very nice family bungalows and everything is nicely arranged with the forest. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It is quite an older resort, but people take care a lot. The beach is ok. Unfortunately left and right of the resort there have been new hotels which destroyed the original nature of Nora beach.
Brilliant Holiday Place”
this was a fantastic place to come with a family, but for any traveller it would be great. the rooms a well kept and large. we had a large deck that looked out to the sea. there is a private beach here that has space to spread out, away from the hustle and bustle and crowded beaches in the middle of chaweng. great service from all the people and there was an excellent breakfast each morning. eating dinner here was excellent as well. this place is spacious and well situated across the full length of the beach, rather than jammed into one small area like most resorts. we cannot recommend this place more highly.
Cosy hotel with back-to-nature feel”
We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Coral Bay. Breakfast array was wide enough. The rooms were clean and spacious. Though you will need to be vigilant about keeping the doors closed all the time to prevent mosquitoes from entering during dawn and dusk. Staff were friendly. The beach front had ample space for children to run around and the fine sand was suitable for toddlers. Unlike some of the hotels further down Chaweng beach which had no beach front and required one to start wading in the water right away. This beach was gradual and the water was shallow for many metres. Not as suitable for swimming though. The pool was hardly used as it was tucked away from the beach but there's also a small wading pool for children. A little dirty with insects but the staff do make it a point to clean the pool daily.
We had a great time staying at Coral Bay. The staffs are very nice and accommodating. They help us call for taxi and book activity plans. I highly recommend this place to my friends and family.
This is the second time we had stayed at the Resort and it is still magic. From the welcoming drink to experiencing a massage at the resort and having a swim in the pool, everything is there. The reception staff and cleaners in particular were lovely and very helpful. It is also located not far from Chaweng for shopping and night life.
Gorgeous rooms in beautiful location”
my boyfriend and i had been backpacking around asia for 2 months and so decided to treat ourselves with a nice room on our last night. this place was perfect!! the room was large, clean, and beautifully decorated. the bathroom was huge and unbelievably gorgeous with a large waterfall shower. my favorite part though was the deck with loungers, a couple chairs, and a table. the resort itself was beautiful, trees all around and with lush gardens. we spent most of our days near the pool which was large and had comfy pool chairs all around. the restaurant food was also delicious!! the service was wonderful as well, the hotel allowed us to check in at 9 am and checkout at 3 pm the next day with only one night charge. the movie selection was massive and we borrowed a couple to enjoy in the room. overall, great spot.
a quiet oasis on the turbulent Koh Samui”
a quiet oasis on the turbulent Koh Samui, authentic-style bungalows in a splendid garden next to a quiet beach, friendly helpfull staff, very comfortable.
This place was great 20 years ago”
However since then there has been little to no upgrades. Everything from the pool to the sheets to the TV is very old and it shows. The place must have been awesome back in the late 90s however now it is a dying resort with an owner that wants to extract every bhat they can and not put a single one back into the place. If you do decide to stay here be very very careful of the showers. The ancient hof water system they use has no cold water mixing function and initially comes out scalding hot. You could seriously cook an egg with it. The bed is firm, very firm. The bungalows as a whole are pretty cool, just very outdated. Don't even bother trying to swim in the beach out back unless you are wearing adequate footwear as it is filled with sharp corals, hence the name Coral Bay Resort. The pool is a joke. It looks great in their photo but definitely not in person. All the loungers are old and dirty. The grounds are pretty nice with lots of plants, however they really need a crew of workers to take care of it and they don't have them , and it shows. It's a shame because it could be awesome if the owner actually cared. The problem is, this place is a dinosaur and there are so many other new resorts to compete against. I was hesitant to leave this honest review because the staff are very kind and friendly and I give them 5 stars for dealing with this place.
the resort brings you to the fairy tale of nature”
i spent lovely 11 nights with my parents in this amazing resort. it really feels like you are in the different world of fairy tale. you are far far away from the busy and stressful life, from the noizy and crowded world. here in this resort you find peas and relax. the bungalows are very specious, clean and very well decorated. it is wooden made and the roof is made from outantic coconut leafs. you can hear bird singing and froggs during the night. after the sun set the resort and all little lanes between bungalows covered with green bushes and flowers are lighted up with little lights which gives the magic atmosphere. it is one word 'amazing'. the resort has outstanding restaurant on the beach in typical thay stile, with amazing romantic atmosphere, beautiful music an even better cuisine. only the minus in this resort is the sfaff working there. the waiting staff in the restaurant very unfriendly and grumpy, sometimes even rude. the receptionist doesnt speak english very well and there is no one who can help you with your quaries about the island itself if you need any typs or advices. if you are looking for the more busy place with more sights of life, then only short distance (drive 5 minutes, walk 20 minutes) you can get to chaveng beach, where there is a busy city with very busy night life. there are many different restaurants and shops, many night clubs and bars. very very busy during the night and i was there in low season.
