Everything was lovely with exception of mosquitos and very hard bed... The establishment is in the middle of lush trees and jungle causing a ton of bug/mosquitos... and the bed was so hard that my husband complained and tossed and turned all night. So a new mattress and a good repellant with deet and yes, we would go back!
Amazing Location! Very Spacious Villa! Value for Money”
+ Very good location, amazing wooden chalet, very spacious, very friendly staff, right on the beach, Price was very good considering the most peak time. - Garden not maintained, stupid lock system of the door, twice got locked from inside and couldn't open the door had to call people from the reception late in the night (apparently all rooms have this kind of stupid system), Waterfall shower wastes too much water, just too much it was hurting us beyond express, they need to install water saving showers). All said and done, will still return to this place, was really nice rooms and location.
Great value in an otherwise overpriced market”
While the hotel is one of the older hotels in Samui and its tropical beach style not the latest in hotel architecture it is truly a hidden gem and great value in the Samui hotel market. Very nice beach and pool area, close to Chaweng while at enough of a distance to avoid the noise and crowds. Rooms are very large and comfortable and it's all set in a nice beach garden setting with plenty of space and privacy. Service is solid, food is great and they also have a very nice spa.
Great location and friendly staff”
Nicely decorated chalet room, clean and spacious. The room that we stayed was a connecting room with a very big balcony facing the sea. The location is perfect. However, be prepared of mosquitoes bite. The beach is disappointing and dirty. The breakfast not so great, very basic and minimum choice. The food at resort restaurant is really good and the price is reasonable.
Family holidays at coral bay resort”
Coral bay resort has very nice family bungalows and everything is nicely arranged with the forest. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It is quite an older resort, but people take care a lot. The beach is ok. Unfortunately left and right of the resort there have been new hotels which destroyed the original nature of Nora beach.
I would like to highlight the great hospitality and wonderful staff of this resort. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a beach villa and the owner and staff were eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible throughout our whole stay. Thank you so much! The location is a 15-20 minute walk from the main beach, which makes it a very quite place. The only things, we would change, are the very soft mattresses and the missing mosquito nets for the bed. However, when we told the staff that we had problems with mosquitos, they offered to buy a net for us in the supermarket. What a great service!
Sweet and helpful staff!”
I stayed with a friend at Coral Bay Resort for a 3 day weekend getaway and were impressed with everything about the place. The bungalows are placed in a beautifyl tropical garden area and you sleep to the sound of frogs and cicadas chirping away. The staff is super helpful and will assist with anything be it arranging day trips, finding means of transportation or recommending restaurants. The bungalows have a beautiful authentic look and feel to them, resulting in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast is great, but the location of the hotel means it is a little bit of a hazzle getting to downtown as you have to get a taxi.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! Such good value for money and the staff are some of the most lovely we encountered in Asia! The facilities are lovely and the breakfast is lovely!! My only gripe is that the rooms smelt a little damp but other than that this was my favourite hotel in Thailand!!!
Stunning view and gorgeous accomodation”
I loved this place. The location is great, the accomodation was gorgeous. The toilet didn't flush though and the aircon didn't work but it was fine for us for one night. I'm sure this would have been addressed if we'd complained. For the money we spent this was probably one of the best value places we stayed while in Thailand.
Quiet and traditional resort”
It was overall a pleasant expertience. Rooms (bungalows) are big, clean and all made of crafted wood. It is located north of Chaweng, just outside all the noise. Breakfast need improvement. The restaurant though was very good!
This is the second time we had stayed at the Resort and it is still magic. From the welcoming drink to experiencing a massage at the resort and having a swim in the pool, everything is there. The reception staff and cleaners in particular were lovely and very helpful. It is also located not far from Chaweng for shopping and night life.
Nice staff, but not a 4-star hotel anymore”
I think that this hotel use to be a 4-star hotel, but not anymore. The staff is really friendly and are doing the best they can. But even though we were there during absolutely high season, it felt half-closed. The pool didnt feel very clean, and the beach felt like there as been no or just a little bit cleanup for a very long time. The food was really good and the prices was ok. There was a little bar by the beach but it was closed even if it was high season. there was no massage on their massageplaces, and it felt kind of halfclosed.
disappointing beach and poorly maintained pool”
Pretty mediocre stay. Pool was badly designed n maintained, beach was dirty and location was out of the centrally located shopping & nightlife areas. Lots of huge ants crept into the room and I suffered some serious bites.
This is paradise in paradise. Fantastic”
We stayed at Coral Bay from 30th March for 3 Days (should have been longer). It is really a lovely place. My wife called it paradise in paradise. Accommodation is in the form of spacious and independent wooden bungalows. It has a massive bed, hard, but the most comfortable sleep I've had in years. A great bathroom with skylights, the shower is like a mini waterfall and plants growing in the corner. The bungalows are located in a tropical garden that gives each bungalow its individual privacy. Breakfast was quite good. The beach was just a couple of minutes walk from our bungalow. Only negative, rocks and coral directly in front of resort and must be careful of the sea urchins, very painful if stood on. Good sand banks 20 metres left and right of resort for swimming.
Our stay was delightful with friendly, helpful staff and a beautiful location. The resort itself is a little older and this does show but the ambience makes up for this fact. The gardens are a delight, with frogs in pond a special treat. The only disappointment was the temperature of the pool which was far too hot to be enjoyed, even late in the evening. The rugs in the rooms are also unsightly and by far better left without.Other than this I was pleased with our time there. Good value for money.
This place is a sinking ship...”
I almost feel guilty for writing this review. This resort/hotel is basically like an old cruiseliner that has seen better days, and is near the end of it's service. The hotel is amidst a truly beautiful garden- right on the beach. That's where the good ends. The rooms (cottage style) a truly, very old. Cracks, holes, everywhere (a wide open invitation to all kinds of insects, that you'll find all over your room on a regular basis). I understand this is Thailand, and we are in a tropical garden, so this ought to be the norm (afterall, if you don't like tropical insects- a tropical island is not the place for you). However, there are many hotels 4 stars and up, where you wont see a single insect. Here? This place is a haven, simply because the cabins are all made from wood- and in this case- very old, aged, wood. The windows aren't insulated, the roofs are "open concept" in the shower room (meaning- anything can crawl in (and it does) whenever it wants to). The staff is scarce- we stayed here for two nights, and saw mainly one young man the entire time. He was friendly and did his best to provide great service- but I could almost sense a feeling of despair in him. Sort of like, the look you'd see from the captain on the Titanic, just before it went down. The staff and their noble attempt to give this place the feeling of a viable resort, is, quite admirable. But worth the admission price? Hardly. In short... this really is an old, seemingly abandoned resort (by the investors who once took care of it). I have a feeling this place won't be around much longer. One bonus is... how quiet it is: the place is huge, but we saw maybe, another 5-6 guests in total throughout our entire stay there. Maybe everyone else knows something about this place that we didn't know. Well, we know now. Look elsewhere. This place is truly very outdated, and quasi-obsolete, surrounded by new, world-class hotels in a similar price range.
Favourite hotel, such helpful staff”
We absolutely loved Coral Bay and wished we had stayed here for the entirety of our stay in Samui, we were here for 2 nights. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff. This hotel was all separated bungalows which were large and had a great island feel to them. It was right near the beach although the beach wasn't that great for swimming in. It was lovely and quiet. Some people say it was walking distance however we got taxis into town each time for about 200 Baht...would recommend to everyone and will be back when I get back to Samui one day!
Gorgeous rooms in beautiful location”
my boyfriend and i had been backpacking around asia for 2 months and so decided to treat ourselves with a nice room on our last night. this place was perfect!! the room was large, clean, and beautifully decorated. the bathroom was huge and unbelievably gorgeous with a large waterfall shower. my favorite part though was the deck with loungers, a couple chairs, and a table. the resort itself was beautiful, trees all around and with lush gardens. we spent most of our days near the pool which was large and had comfy pool chairs all around. the restaurant food was also delicious!! the service was wonderful as well, the hotel allowed us to check in at 9 am and checkout at 3 pm the next day with only one night charge. the movie selection was massive and we borrowed a couple to enjoy in the room. overall, great spot.
gorgeous resort with oversized Thai style villas”
loved this gorgeous resort. one of the best we have seen on our month in Thailand. close to the airport, only 5 min cab ride. did not hear planes at all. beach very rough and small. views lovely however. Pool lovely. bar and restaurant with seaview a wonderful spot. villas were huge with a double bed PLUS a Thai sofa large enough for an adult if three. we really enjoyed the location and wish we had more than one night on Samui. we would for sure go back to Coral Bay Resort.
