Nice and Affordable rooms”
The cottages/rooms are suitable for backpackers, It will definitely suite if your trip is a budget trip. It has air-con, bed and extra small bed and a toilet room. But don't expect a wi-fi service since it is a budget room. Location is near the bay area, you can book budget tours around coron islands. Restaurants near the cottages/rooms are nice and has wi-fi if in case you need a connection. In terms of food, you can ask the staff to cook lunch or dinner for you since it is near the bay and the public market. Seafoods are greatly served. The staff are very accommodating in terms of the tourists needs. We have met the owner of Coron Reef and she is very hospitable

Nice location and staff”
Although there is a big signboard at the main road, the pension house itself has no identifying sign that I had to guess which structure was Coron Reef Pension. The room assigned to me opens to the lobby and right beside the street/alley and since the room walls are rather thin I could hear all the noises on the street as well as at the lobby, and even from the adjacent room. The room and surroundings were clean; the bedding and towels fresh. No TV inside the room, only at the lobby. No wi-fi in the room nor "in public areas" as mentioned in the website. The owner/s and staff are courteous and very helpful especially with directions, tours, restaurants and other information.

location and staff good”
The place is run by one of the founding families of Coron, so they know everything there is to know about the place and any travels you want to take. They have there own boats to take you to any island or dive. If your not concerned about the small and untidy make-shift rooms then this place could be a real value. The meals are fresh and adaquate and all you can eat. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would recommmend it to anyone that can get past the insignificant things a westerner may trip over.

Dirty and extremely low standard. ”
This hotel is so run down it is almost collapsing. My room (Seaside room) didn't even have an inner ceiling but instead just a layer of insulation. My biddies room did have ceiling but was still decrepit. Walls are made of woven grass which is ok as a material but this was moldy, staind and smelly. The whole room was very, very dirty, the mattress on the floor was stained and the bathroom beyond a family-friendly description. The room didn't look anything like the photo I saw when booking. I did quite a lot of rock bottom, on a shoe-string, super cheap backpacking in the mid 2000's but this is the worst standard that I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. I even changed hotels because I couldn't sleep there, which is the first time for me. Location is ok (the town of Coron is super tiny so it's hard having a bad location) and the restaurant on the pier right next to the hotel (the one with all the mermaids) is decent. Staff was ok, a bit indifferent and not as friendly as Filipinos usually are. I was there exclusively for the diving but even still, the hotel was too bad for me. Maybe the other rooms are nicer, but the seaside rooms should be avoided at all cost. There are plenty of budget hotels in Coron so for the same price or just slightly, slightly more you can find something a million times better. I would not recommend Coron Reef Pension to anyone regardless of budget. (note: I live in the Philippines and have stayed in plenty of cheap hotels and pensions around the country so this is not some European being shock by low standards in the Phils expecting Shangri-la standards everywhere. This hotel is actually really, really bad)

Disappointing”
We chose Coron Reef Pension because, for a good price,In our whole 5-day stay we were not able to connect to the internet. The seaside room they gave us was facing huge piles of construction materials for the new wing they were constructing. It was a big turn off even before we entered our room. The room had a toilet that was very dirty with one of the wooden panels opening to the outside because it was termite-infested. The toilet bowl was cracked and there was a shower that didn't work. The walls of the room were so thin that we could hear the conversation of people in the adjacent rooms. The only redeeming factor was that our room was airconditioned, but the aircon was quite noisy, we could barely hear each other. But because of this, guests from the other rooms wouldn't be able to hear us either. The owner was nice though. She would always greet us good morning and good evening. Unfortunately, her kindness was not enough to give this hotel a better review.

Good location but rooms are so-so”
upon our arrival, we heard one of the other guests say, she thought she's entering a place like a squatters area. but since we chose the seaside room we had a good view of the sea which was good. and our room faces the pool. however, the pool was available only on our third night since the person who does the maintenance work got sick. when we entered our room, it was so-so and we noticed holes on some parts of the wall near the floor. maybe that's the reason why when we came back from maquinit spring on our first night in coron, the bag containing our noodles, biscuits, and coffee had a big hole in it and one pack of biscuits was empty. also, we had to move our food bag from one place to another to outwit the ants. and there's that constant smell of cat's feces every time we go out of our room. water in the bathroom has sand particles and moss, even after letting the water flow for a few minutes. so we improvised a strainer, using a face towel tied with rubber band. another thing, when we were hanging wet clothes in the bathroom the shower pipe suddenly slipped sending out water spouts ... the room really needs repair. and we can hear all the noises and conversations from the adjacent rooms and the passersby. we have noticed though that they are starting to improve the facility. maybe in the future it will be a far cry from its present state. in fairness though, the owner and staff are kind and helpful. and the coffee, chocolate drink, and drinking water is unlimited. we have noticed too that it's okay to bring noodles and biscuits to their restaurant even without ordering anything. some guests did that and so we tried that too on our last morning. so this place is okay for the budget conscious. another good point: the place is near the market and the center, so if you don't want to eat in their restaurant you can easily go around to look for other restaurants. and if you have little time left before leaving, the pasalubong stands are just nearby.

Great Seaside Room”
For the price we paid. We had a big room with 3 beds. There is a separate shower room and toilet. The only drawback is that the toilet room is clogged.

Affordable roof over your head - nothing more”
Well, it's a bit of a mix really. The room is very cheap and is very close to the city center, 1 minute on foot. The room is okay in size but don't expect anything. There's cold water to shower with, cockroaches roam around in the room and I saw a small rat passing through the room twice. When I told the staff about it they smiled saying "We know". Having said that, it wasn't that bad as it sounds just expect to see things you are not used to. Location and price cannot be matched. Also very noisy from the morning with Roosters and the staff hanging out with their families in the common area. I wake up at 6 every day so for me it was more fun than anything else.

Value for money”
All the staff were friendly. I first stayed in this accomodation in 2010 followed in 2017 and then just last week (Feb 2018) my third time. My friends and I were all satisfied. The rooms were just basic but that's what we all need with good a/c and strong water.

Cheap price”
Location is great. Right in the city center but the hostel doesn't has any logo or name on the building, difficult to find it for the first time. Building and rooms are old but worth for the price. Free to use thte swimming pool.

Budget friendly hotel”
the hotel is situated in a perfect location - in-front of the sea, near the restaurants & stores and the market is just 5-minute walking distance from the hotel. the room is very affordable but very basic, small and not too clean, though it is quite acceptable. the room has air-conditioning unit and the hotel has swimming pool. staffs are accommodating and they will attend to your needs immediately but its very rare to see smile in their faces.

Average rooms but very nice people”
rooms are very average. if you want a high-end hotel, this is not the place for you. rooms are small and simple. but the good thing is that people are very nice. they'll attend to your every need. they have seaside and air-conditioned rooms. hotel restaurant is just outside the room. it's accessible but can get very noisy at times. you can even sometimes hear the guests right next door. but all in all, it was a nice stay. by the way, if you want to request for food or if you want to arrange a tour, you can just approach the people at the hotel and they'll be more than happy to assist you. there's even a slogan that says, "come as a guest and leave as friends." well i can say that it's indeed true.

Great for travellers on a budget with no high expectations”
This guest house is great for a night or two stay. They rooms are okay - it is clean, with fresh sheets, towel and pillows. But it gets a bit noisy in the surroundings, then the staff are okay but their desk is usually unattended. The place needs renovation I think hehe but it's fine. Its shower is okay - no hot shower though so prepare yourself for a cold shower at night. I would say, this is very good for budget travellers, nothing fancy but very accessible to town!

Unpleasant stay”
1. The big house and the pool you can see are still under construction/renovation so we were not able to use them. Even we were not sure, if the big house/pool realy belongs to them, because one lady from the reception told us it belongs to the neighbours. The standard rooms are in a small seperare building. 2. The matrace of the "doublebed" was very old and only 5cm big. 3. The walls of our Room were so thin that we could here everything from outside, early in the morning it was very noisy 4. We could not flush the toilet so that the water comes up to the top. It needs many hours until the toilet was on normal level. They said its because of the tide from the ocean... 5. The service was not good. When we told them about a problem they could not help. 6. In the end we asked for a rebate for one day and after discussion we only got a rebate for a half day 250 Peso (5€) All in all it was an unpleasant stay and compared to other pensions on the Phillipines it is not worth the price!

A Budget Hotel”
The hotel is right in the center of the town. the people there are friendly and they try to help you in every way they can. The rooms have no ventilation and they are very compact. Due to no ventilation, the rooms are smelly.
