Loved it, so we came back!”
We have stayed in this hotel several times now. Love the location, walking distance to Paddington station and over looking Hyde park. Small but well equipped rooms, nice coffee maker. Lovely breakfast selection.
Need to improve on hotel management system”
Check in took around 20 minutes (no kidding!) as they were inputting the same exact information I've inputted when booking from Agoda.com. The hotel itself is structured quite unique to be able to say that it is not easy to move around with your big suitcase. Unfortunately, my room key did not work upon checking in and I had to go downstairs and wait for another few minutes before someone noticed that I simply needed a key replacement. Breakfast was also some headache as everyone needed to wait in line for the staff to accompany you when there is only one person doing this task so few people were waiting in line every morning. Gym in the morning smelled like someone was drinking there for the entire night. Room is not especially clean, but ok.
Cute and tiny, but great location”
My husband and I were laughing at the size of the room when we first got in. We got the business double room, it was on the upper levels. The bed is designed to fit 2 luggages nicely underneath so that helped a lot. The winning point of this hotel is the location. It is just across Hyde park and 2 mins away from the Lancaster Gate station. There are shops close by, some restaurants, convenience store, laundromat so that was very convenient. Paddington station is not far too, probably about 10 mins walk without luggage. Would definitely stay here again.
Very good hotel - great staff”
I was in London for 2 days. This hotel is close to Paddington, maybe 10mins walk. Very easy to find. I stayed in an executive room that was on an offer. Maybe slightly hard bed but very nice, very clean and quiet, spacious room. I would definitely stay there again if the price was right.
London in January”
The hotel is in an excellent location, across the road from Hyde Park. Tube connections are also good, so long as you don't have heavy luggage (we did as we were on a skiing trip). The rooms are small but adequate for a short stay - we were just on a stopover - and the staff were very good. Breakfast was particularly good value.
Excellent service and good location”
The hotel is located near Lancaster Gate station, and within comfortable walking distance to Paddington Station and Bayswater/Queensway (where there are ample of food options). We had two separately bookings. Our first booking was in the business double room. The room was new and clean. We had expected the room to be small (from reviews), but it was comfortable enough for two people, with ample luggage storage space under the bed. (You can open up your luggage and slide it in and out from under the bed to access your things, while ensuring that you have good walking space.) Basic amenities (shower soap, body wash, coffee, tea) were provided. Our second stay was in the executive double. Room was slightly older (though with a nice English home feel), spacious with additional amenities (including a coffee machine!). We initially had some concerns with our bookings, and wrote to the hotel to seek clarification. Manager Andreu had went the extra mile to help resolve our issue.
Was at Corus for 3 nights. Tiny rooms so the value for money was not that great but given the excellent location just 2 minute walk to Lancaster gate tube station, I won't complain much of it. Friendly staff.
7 nights in Corus”
Awesome location, 3 mins walk from Lancester Gate Station, 1 min walk from Hyde Park, 5-15mins walk to Baywater with many restaurants and food eateries. Stayed in a Double business suite, room was small, but cozy enough for a good night rest. Ample charging points in the room.
We have stayed at this hotel for two nights unfortunately hotel room business rooms so small and bed even not enough for two is enough for one . The bad thing in this hotel there is no soundproof between rooms so we could not sleep for last two nights the sound from the next room like they were stay with us in the same room .
Small but convenient room”
Very convenient location Just next to Hyde Park and main street, with only 5 mins walk from subway station. The room is very small but very well designed to have all the necessities for busy tourists. It is very convenient if you are not very tall or large.
Nice hotel on an excellent location, very close to Lancaster Gate tube station. Quite small room, but big enough for me and my 10-year-old daughter. We really loved the beds! Breakfast rather varied. You should be aware of the deposition the hotel reserves in your accountedge until you leave. Will certainly come back!
Excellent location (near a park and a subway station)”
It's perfect location near the Hyde park and subway station 'Lancaster Gate'. Reasonable price for its value. Just.. the standard room has too small space but the executive room was okay.
Better than expected”
Considering all the horror reviews I read about the central London hotels, I was quite happy with this hotel. The staff is very nice, and they allowed us to check in before we should have, although we only asked them to store our luggage only. The room is small, but overall comfy. The heating was ok, everything working properly. We forgot our UK adapter, we also received an outlet adapter from the hotel. It was one of the most expensive hotels I ever booked, but for London conditions I think overall it was ok. I can recommend it +++
Turn right out of Lancaster Gate tube 130 m your there. Lovely staff, standard double room, not a lot of room around the bed but bathroom and wifi good. Haven't eaten in Hotel Old building hotel, this is London, had problems with our shower, no problem moved us to another room. Maintenance went straight in and fixed it. Ended up up booking another 2 nights
Pros: Friendly staff. I came about 11AM and she tried to find the best solution to let me check in earlier. She understand we are tired due to Long flight. Staff at concierge was helpful as well. Location is the best. Buses just 3 mins walk away and it can go to Oxford street (390) and Piccadilly Circus (94). I took Big Bus for convenience and the bus stop is also 3 mins walk away (Bayswater). Sadly, when I was in London the nearest tube, Lancaster Gate station is undergoing construction. It is also 3 mins walk away. London Express/Connect stops at Paddington which is about 8 to 10 mins walk away. Cons: From the corridor to my room has a few steps (about 4 small stairs) which I was not aware and my mum has bad knees. But she said it is ok since it was a rather small stairs. But do take note! I am really satisfied with the hotel and I do not have any complaints. The room is just like most London hotels, small. So no complaints about it. Thanks Corus!
Good for business stay”
I have stayed at the Corus multiple times for business reasons. I feel that the hotel is conveniently located (2min walk to Lancaster Gate tube station, close to bus stops, walkable distance to Paddington station, across the road from Hyde Park, near food choices) and especially since I take the Heathrow Express from Paddington whenever I travel to London. The morning breakfast is good, albeit the same exact choices every day. Staff is very friendly and helpful - I have never met anyone who wasn't accommodating to my questions or needs. Room sizes are standard for London - I'd recommend requesting for the newly renovated rooms as they are modern and clean. If you travel for business like me, the hotel lobby is really good for short meetings and discussion, as there is ample space and facilities to do so. I keep coming back to this hotel!
great location opposite hyde park , ”
staff are kind and helpful, there is a computer for use in the reception, good value definitely, it offers good Malaysian food side menu for room service apart from the usual boring local western. so that is a plus , tried the laksa taste just as good as those back home..
Nice stay in London”
We stayed 5 nights in Corus hotel this time and we liked the hotel lication. It is close to all main raoads by walking. Queensway is 15 to 20 minutes walk, Edgware Road is 25 to 30 minutes walk. Hyde park entrance is just opposite the hotel. Lancaster Gate tube station is very close to hotel. One thing disturbed us and was annoying, False Fire Alarm was activated during both of our stay in the hotel. We had to evacuate , there was no proper management from the hotel. I think hotel need to fix this problem and ensure Fire Alarms Activations are accurate, not just false alarm. Appart from that everything was ok. If you look for reasonable price and good location to the London attractions this hotel is a good choice.
Very handy location, good hotel”
This hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk to Paddington train station. There is another tube station pretty much next door. Staff were nice. Hotel looks fancy and is secure. My single room was a bit shabby and next to the lift. So noisy all the time. Could do with painting and bedding refreshing.
Great value for money”
This is our second time staying at The Corus in Hyde Park. We love it because it's close to Hyde Park, clean, and great value for money! The room is a little bit small though, but it's clean and air conditioned.
