Mapatagonia is a great hostel. The walls are paper thin, but when we stayed it was all like minded travelers who went to bed at a reasonable time, were quiet and respectful of everyone and therefore it was the most comfortable nights sleep we have had since being in Chile. Staying here is like staying in a museum. We stayed in two different rooms, one of them had a bed which was too soft and made a lot of noise when turning around at night. Bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. But the best experience was the breakfast with Nespresso coffee and home-made bread and pies!
The street in front of the hotel came alive in the evening. We had the best seafood at Casa Lastarria, half a block walk from the hotel. It is also a short walk to the Funicular and Condola ride at San Cristóbal.
