Best hotels & accommodations in China

The absolute waterfront Bund location allows for jaw-dropping panoramic views over the curving Huangpu River and boulevard, and across to the effervescent skyline of Shanghai CBD. The hotel itself is aesthetically stunning, and would be deserving of a visit if only for the high-quality refurbishment. The interior has been lovingly restored, with an understated decor ...

One of the best hotels that i have stayed in in China. Rooms were clean and service at front desk was tiptop. Although its only a 4 star hotel but in terms of service and the rooms, it is better than some of the 5 star hotels that i have stayed in in China. Hotel is only a 5 min walk away from subway line 10 and 10 mins walk to yuyuan.

this hotel was just fabulous. we stayed with a 6,5 &1 year old and loved it!! of the 4 4/5 star hotels we stayed in in china this was definitely my favourite. it is a magnificent looking hotel with very friendly english speaking staff. the restaurant was very accommodating to us and we're able to get high chair for our bub. (bring a high chair type thing if coming to c...

This hotel was a great find! I was traveling with a couple and finding a room to accommodate three people wasn't easy. We stayed in the two bedroom suite, which gave us the privacy we wanted while still being able to share a room. The living room/dining room area is spacious and we had a great view overlooking the city. The hotel suite wasn't new but it was clean and w...

Pros: About a 10 minute walk from the shopping/tourist area of Wangfujing and near some great hutongs that aren't overrun with tourists. Superior room booked through Agoda was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and cleaning staff did a good job every day, though the room itself was showing clear signs of wear (some peeling wallpaper, old caulking in the shower...

I visit Qingdao regularly for business and as with all my destinations research all possible hotels as much as possible. Initially I could find little or no information / reviews about Far Glory, especially on Tripadvisor. As with all Chinese hotels I was skeptical about reviews and information provided online. Farglory is an amazing hotel. It is located almost next do...

my stay in xiamen was really nice. hotel is good, and the staff is welcomed and taking good care for guest. even though the hotel is relative new, but it seemed very crowed. many corporate events taken placed in their ballrooms. lastly, this hotel is really 5 star international hotel, managed by western gm (many hotels in china, which called with chinese name always ex...

The hotel is 2 mins walk to a subway station (JinTaiXiZhao), medium size shopping mall with enough restaurants and cafes, a financial center and PwC Beijing office. There is also a convenient store 7-11, again 5 mins walk away from the hotel. In short location is perfectly convenient. Space of the double room we booked is also 5/5 value for money. As it is a short stay...

Overall, we were really happy with our stay. However, there were a few minor niggles. The bathroom left much to be desired, such as: a door that closed all the way and perhaps even opened without someone on the outside assisting and a shower that drains properly. I’m pretty sure the the shower’s drain was placed in the floor’s highest spot...that’s not right. Breakfa...

This is the best hotel I stayed in during my China trip and one of the best I've been in in southeast Asia. The lobby is nice and the rooms are better and the staff were very hospitable which was a change from what we've experienced in other hotels in the city. Highly recommended and will be the only hotel I'll stay-in in future trips.

Price is excellent for a five star hotel that provided a large clean room with complementary slippers, tooth paste and tooth brush, shaver, comb, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Bath robes, a weight scale, safe, iron and boardwas provided as well. The lobby is complemented by courteous knowledgeable staff. Location of ten minutes walk from Wangfujiang shopping area an...

i am a traveler, and whether for pleasure or for business, i always make sure that before i select the hotel @ agoda i check on the reviews if ever they meet my requirements. in most asian countries that i have been, i have experienced staying in some citadines chain of hotels and i would say they always satisfy my taste each time. i stayed in three different hotels in...

What really impressed me was that I was offered assistance to wheel my luggage upon stepping into the hotel. And this was not a bellboy but one of the staff walking past. You don't get that in majority of the local hotels in China. Also, upon checking in at the reception desk, the courteous concierge also presented me with a map of the city and a subway line guide. T...

great hotel and part of the raffles chain. unfortunately china being china its run teh chinese way and not the way a 5 star opulent grand hotel with such a great reputation should be run. staff are poorly trained and instructed, it shows when you walk inside and they start hiding instead of saying hello like all otehr hotel staff do. the experience of staying...

The hotel is just next to the famous shopping street. Recepion staff are friendly and helpful, one of the best exprience I have in China hotels. The swimming pool at 7th floor is nice, should try. This hotel is located in the center of Beijing. Wangfujing and shopping is just around the corner. The rooms are very spacious. The Shangri-La in Qingtao is part old tower part new tower. I booked through Agoda, so I assume the hotel immediately puts all the OTA bookings in the old tower. The rooms were clean, fine, but dated, and didn't feel 5-Star. This half felt 4-Star. The front desk staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The lobby lounge staff were friendly too, but the service...

We had 4 nights at the White Swan and overall were very happy. It is on Shamian Island which is a little sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Guangzhou. There are restaurants and coffee shops scattered within walking distance. I recommend finding them as the prices in the hotel are a bit ridiculous. ($19AUD for a bowl of cereal, $11AUD for a cafe latte). The hotel i...

The location, facility, amenity, hospitality, all was fine. We traveled with 11 months old baby and 4 year old girl and never experienced bad in this hotel. Our 11 months old enjoyed their breakfast (especially rice porridge), and tried so many different kind of food that he never experienced before. We asked for bed guard net before our arrival and it was already ...

Its right in the middle of a train interchange and its connected with an all weather below the ground walkway. I enjoyed my stay, everything was satisfactory (Location, Buffet Breakfast, room, staff attitudem except small issue with the usual English communication but still better than most hotels in China. Supermarket, Restaurants, Bus station etc located next to Hotel.

While the hotel is older the stay is really good, the room facilities are fine - the bed is firm like many hotels in China. I found the restaurant and housekeeping staff very helpful. The room rates are very competitive compared to other hotels in Shenzhen and much, much better than staying in Hong Kong. When checking in ensure that the pre-approval charge is adequate ...

I usually stay elsewhere in Shenzhen, but tried the wyndham for a change and was really impressed for the price. it's a 5 star for what matters. what I like about wyndham in china is they also have European of north American staff on rotating training courses there so you can always speak to someone in English is you need to for more complex things. it's been helpful i...

The hotel is right at Wangfujing Street and is only a couple minutes walk to the pedestrian-only section. A great location for food and shopping. I booked this hotel because of the location (withing walking distance to my daughter's apartment) as well as the reviews that I read online. The rooms were well maintained and the staff was friendly. There are more western owned 5 star hotels in Shanghai than I count. Hyatt (owned by Starwood) has at least 4 that I know of. There are also several other Starwood hotels in Shanghai. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The bed was comfortable and the room is of a good size. Good tv channels, nice toiletries and room was nice. For the price, i believe the room should have a bathtub and free internet. Cheapest hotels in China

One of the best places we've been to during our 5-month trip around Southeast Asia and South China. We keep our budget pretty low so we've slept in quite basic places but this place is great. The house has a nice courtyard, the room was clean and very nice and the owner was very helpful. Not in the old town but comfortable walking distance.

first this place hardly find the entry are too small but if you find it you will obtain the sevice mind from staff. all staff can speak english very well and can recommend you to go around the Chengdu . Can book the cheapest ticket show for you. When you come to Chengdu and you want to go Leshan Mount. or Emei Mount. you can also ask the staf to book for you The pric...

In the beginning I planned to stay only 2 nights but due to the good service and friendly atmosphere at the Lily Pad Inn and also of course the charming Old town of Dali I prolonged my stay with 2 more nights.I recommend warmly the lily Pad Inn for its location, its good service, its friendly and helpful staff who try all the time to make you pleased to be their gues...

i am a long term solo traveller, i came to jinghong to cross china border. i searched, found this hostel. it is a little far from bus station, but review was very good, so i booked it. host was really good person and she made tea for us(there were some people) if i stay in jinghong again, i will do book this guest house again. i felt like staying in my house.

Jenny was so lovely and helpful - she speaks great English and gave us good advice about our stay in Yangshuo. She also went above and beyond to get us tickets to the local show. Be aware the hotel is up an alleyway just off the main Pan Tao Road - we did manage to walk past it before we found it. But Jenny was very helpful in giving us directions through WeChat.

We stayed in the guesthouse for 4 nights, in a double deluxe room. The room was very big, and clean (which isn't trivial in China), the staff was very helpful and it is recommended to book through them tours, taxis and bus. Everyone spoke English which also isnt trivial in China, and were very nice. It is in a central location, 5 minutes walk from all the pubs and 10 m...

Being of the older brigade (60 plus, hahaha) one could be excused for thinking we are too old for a "Youth Hostel" but with intrepid spirit and a mind of our own, we arrived at this hostel, met Hamson, found our rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the next 3 days. There is nothing one could complain about at this hostel. From the hospitality of Hamson, the location, to the co...

Aside from the ferry port at the river, which is mobbed by hordes of tour groups getting on or off the Li river cruise boats, Xingping is still small town China. There are no western fast food chains here yet, or Starbucks. The streets are still being paved and sidewalks are being built, along with new hotels. It is a pleasant change from glitzy Guilin and Yangshuo wit...

The hostel is in the riverside, a quiet place to relax and go for a walk along the river. Nearby also there's some bars and restaurants, the night market is in walking distance. The hostel have 2 nice common areas to seat, grab a beer, drink tea, have breakfast, etc. A nice place to stay some days exploring Jinghong and around or just taking a rest

We stayed here on Chinese New Year to replace an overbooked hotel. It served a purpose but not sure if we’d stay again. The water wasn’t hot. Perhaps this was because they rely on solar. The host is nice and friendly. It was ok but that’s all we can say about it. One night stop.

Regency Hotel in Zhuhai is located very close to the 'Walking Street', the popular shopping area. The other end of the street will lead to the underground shopping complex, a giant shopping madness. The complex will in turn lead to the custom crossing to Macau. Walking time from custom entry to the hotel is about 17 minutes, provided you know the way. Its not difficult...

We loved our time in Xingping! We met some great people from the UK, Hong Kong and France. Crystal and Kevin have created a fun, open and social environment. We played beer drinking games our first night, and then the second night, we were even invited to join in a shared dinner with Crystal, Kevin, their friends and some of the guests that was fantastic. We highly r...

Great value. Staff were great - good location next to river - beautiful at night, amazing bed - spent alsmot a day on the way to guilin on hard seat train, then had to walk around town for about 6 hours to get a room. Then when we got here we had the best bed we saw in china. Slept for ages. Good value tours and good help. Chef's in the restaurant need a little pract...

One of the best stay in China. Staffs were so friendly and helpful. I booked 6bed dorm room, but they let me stay at twin bed room. Good location, only 3 min away from Ancient wall by walk. Good place with good price. And lovely staff. highly recommend

My family and I currently reside in HongKong from USA and we were looking for a place to chill for the weekend without having to fly. We picked Yangshuo because of its newly built Banyan Tree where we planned to stay at first. Somehow we ended up choosing Sudder Street and it was clearly the right choice. We hesitate at first since we've never stay in a guesthouse ...

Guilin Ease Hostel was one of the best hostel i stayed in China. Very friendly staff, most speak perfect english and help you with booking the tours based on your trip. Location is awesome, walkable to most of the attractions in Guilin. Lots of food options around. The hostel also has inhouse food which is quite convenient. (Their Cheese Sandwich was AWESOME!). Highly ...

what a value, i booked a single room with private bathroom and i was amazed by the accommodations. got there and it was pretty painless to check in everything was explained to me in detail, the room had a big size bed comfortable enough for asian standars, clean big desk, and clean bathroom modern feeling, american standar toilet and sink which tells you is on the med ...

Booked 5D4N stay at Bund Riverside Hotel through Agoda and was upgraded to Riverview room on 11F (no-smoking floors on 10F,11F). Room had a view of the Suzhou Creek and an enormous construction site after it. The hotel was rated 4 stars, but there was no swimming pool or gym. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Room was quiet, no noise from road traffic, and a...

I booked a twin room for my teenage 2 children who were travelling from Japan to New Zealand via Seoul and Shanghai. They said the staff were friendly and very helpful and spoke some English. The room was clean and tidy - they had a great sleep. The buffet breakfast was lovely and although it was predominantly meat-based, there were enough vegetarian options for them t...

We stayed there a couple years ago and never had a second thought about paying another visit. You almost can’t beat this hotel’s location, just a 10-minute walk to West Lake and the busiest shopping district in Hangzhou. There’s a metro station there as well. As for the hotel, large, spacious and very clean rooms with a fresh fruit plate every day. Most basic ameni...

I was skeptical about China Hotel hospitality and services but was very impressed with the front desk and front desk concierge services when we checked in late at night on the 26th June 945pm with my old handicap parent and a baby after a long train travelling from Shandong. The front desk lady manager in Grey Blazer saw that immediately and rushed out of her area to a...

The only slight issue was the service man out the front of the hotel was on his mobile and didn't open the door for my heavy luggage. Other than that the service was fabulous. The breakfast was the best I have had at a hotel in China and the decor of the restaurant comfortable. The room was beautifully furnished, it was clean, there was a bathtub (treat for someone ...

the room i stayed in was much better than that i had expected. it was very clean, and most certainly free of cigarette smoke odour, something you can't take for granted with hotels in china. the best part of my stay was the extremely helpful hotel bus driver/personnel. i asked him where i could get a foot massage, and instead of telling me where to go and how to get th...

good location, clean room, comfortable design, value for money with newly renovated room at high level, 4 star international hotel standard...except one common problem of local hotel in China...water leaking from shower stand, water stain and wallcovering peel off on the wall on bedroom side, it's still new and cold weather, so no stinky smell comes out yet Lol

Going to Shenzhen BEST WESTERN WAS ALLWAYS MY FIRST CHOICE OF HOTEL. With most hotels in China hotel value preferences as to payments and others are more priorities rather than customers needs. With Best Western hotel customers needs are their first priority. The staffs are so helpful and do all they can with great enthusiasm. My last travel took me to 7 cities in Chin...

Its location is very convenient -- right on Nanjing East Pedestrian Street, near to both Nanjing East metro station and People's Square metro station, lots of food and shops available within walking distance. Even if you forget to bring any toiletries with you, there's a Watson's just a few steps away. I had booked a single room at a great bargain (promotional rate) a...

This hotel is near to Mrt station and The western Han Museum of the Nanyue King. Also waking distance to Beijing pedestrians street. It has two Cantonese restaurants at level 3 and 5. One of the restaurants is serving Dim Sum. These two restaurants are always crowded, so might be quite noisy and many people are waiting for the lift at the lobby. There are many restaur...

we loved this hotel. we were really surprise with the beds especially. most china hotels have hard beds but tianan rega hotel provides its customers with soft beds that makes your stay relaxing and comfortable. although english is not spoken by many chinese, the staff try their best to answer your questions. we will surely stay in this hotel again once we come back to ...

The room is very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful although with limited english spoken staff, but they try their best to speak in english. As you have to aware when travel to Shanghai that majority of the residences could not speak english, so tourists must equip themselves with little basic mandarin, event in the airport or central town in Shanghai. This ...

As the first stop on our month-long trip in China, we chose this comfortable hotel, a little higher in the luxury scale that we usually go for. We needed to acclimatize ourselves. It's not very near the tourist sights: about a half-hour walk from the wonderful Temple of Heaven. But it was only a ten-minute walk to the subway, past some nice little restaurants, and tax...

good location not far from textiles market hotel is clean and hotel staffs are ready for services situated in business area easy for dining and shopping room is clean and best thing is bathroom is good with proper door not the glass door as many hotels in china. best recommended

I was living in China and went to Shanghai many times and tried different places. I searched on Agoda and found the City Hotel. I would have preferred to stay closer to a subway station and almost didn't book this one because it was a little further from a station that I usually like. I am glad I booked it though as it was a great 5 nights. The rooms were quiet and co...

They even stored all my suitcases before I checked in some 5 days earlier as I had another flight and another city to go to first before Shanghai, they are very rare in their service and friendliness when compared to most hotels in China, the building is so beautiful, the rooms very large, dated perhaps but who cares when everything is so good!

I stayed in room 616 and overall it's an excellent solid choice if you're in the mid-range budget. There are places that are cheaper (<50 USD/night), but I don't think it'll be this comfy. This place makes me feel like sleeping in a 5 star but only paying fraction of it - very value for money (paid about 80 USD/night after Agoda discount voucher - originally 90 somethi...

We booked 3 rooms at this hotel but when we got there we were told that only one room was available and had to wait for the other 2 rooms. Fortunately, the hotel manager was there to upgrade our rooms to 2 suite rooms which we readily accepted. The hotel was one of the best we have stayed in China, nice grand lobby, and great Chinese restaurant on the 2nd flr. The room...

Its was a great value for money with such a big room. High cleanliness with daily housekeeping. Very helpful and friendly staff. Its was a great stay ever for my travel in China. we stayed in the deluxe room and it was spacious and clean. the room setting is nice and the bed is very comfortable. this is unlike other hotels in china which offers a rather hard bed type. as for the location wise, it's very good too, with walking distance (5mins) to the border. but anyway if you are taking ferry from hong kong...i would suggest you to take the ferr...

i loved this hotel, value for money, what you see in the pictures is well, what you would get. travelling with family with older parents. booked 1 deluxe room and 1 suite room. both rooms were spacious, new, clean, bright, comfortable. you get fresh, clean and white towels daily, laundry service good, all in all very satisfied. hotel staff are all very obliging and...

Our stay at IFC was just wonderful. Our 2 bedroom apartment was plenty big enough for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers). The 2 bathrooms helped also as did the kitchen for a home cooked meal (after living off weeks of take-aways and restaurants). The metro underneath the IFC Mall was a great way to get around Shanghai especially as it rained for the whole ti...

Everything was great, staff, cleaning, facilities. Only odd thing was that they could easily put something better than instant coffee packets and basic tea bags in the room. Especially with what you are paying, I've been in 3 star hotels which had better.

i was a bit apprehensive at first about the price tag of a night's stay at the hyatt on the bund, but as soon as i stepped into the lobby, i knew that it would be worth the splurge. the staff who greet you upon arrival are welcoming and helpful, then direct you to your room. mine had a king bed (comfier than most hotels in china) and a large bathroom, as well as views ...

Great service, hotel is notbrand new but kept up and for China quite elegant. Manyu ammenities including an indoor pool, ping pong, a few restruants and the location is great for walking around and shopping for electronics at Hauqing Bay area. Overall I plan to stay here again. Only downside is the price and no wifi in the room. However I was upgraded to the Delux ...

we booked just before arrival and didn't really know the city and where we were landing up. best find for our short, 2-day family visit with husband and 2 college-age children!. highly recom. trooms were very spacious with high ceilings, large beds and nicely decorated. hotel seems recently upgraded in carpets and decor to tasteful, sophisticated modern chinese fee...

We stayed here for 2 nights in the studio room. Room was big, comfortable king sized bed, international news and movie channels, has a small kitchen with washer/dryer. We stayed in one day because it was raining and we felt like being lazy - ordered from the Mexican restaurant inside the hotel which was actually pretty good - not too expensive (expensive for China stan...

I got room 404 so it faced the street which was good. It was Bamboo Comfort Room so a step up from the standard room. A good place to rest up if you have spent time out in rural China which I did. This place is excellent as it is near subway to airport and near to Lama Temple area. It is also next to large shopping center Raffles that has a supermarket that sells weste...

This 12-to-20th floor hotel is located in a major posh shopping district of Shanghai and there is a metro station just across the street. The amenities are limited for a five-star rated hotel, but the facilities offered are tasteful and top-notch. Our room had a spectacular view overlooking the magnificent Jing-An Temple and beyond. Shopping and food in the area is ...
