Nice hotel, quiet & orderly. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. The one concern I had was that when the reservation was made a 19% tax was added to the bill. I was a tourist on this trip and should not have been charged for the business tax. The reservation indicated that my visa credit card would be charged at the hotel, This was not the case. I am reques...

Nothing to complain about here. The usual good standard Radisson hotel. Very professional and helpful staff. Comfortable room. The hotel is a fair way from the centre of Bogota but it is a good safe area. no worries walking about at night. There is an excellent restaurant/pub area a short walk away. It is to the left side of the Santa Barbara shopping mall across the...

I don't usually leave reviews but I have to say that my stay at the Hotel Alfiz was probably one of my best hotel experiences, be it a boutique or chain hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They helped us with directions, bookings and even a police report we had to file for a stolen iPhone. The establishment was quiet, most likely due to...

Very nice hotel. Nice rooms clean modern and very comfortable Beds were great big rooms Nice area close to everything only draw back is Medellin is hilly so from the location some people would have difficulty walking to the restaurant area or malls but cabs are cheap The area seemed very safe and friendly beautiful city

From pool to ocean in a few walking steps. The room was clean, updated with a nice tile floor (not carpet that hides dust and nastiness) a large tv screen and crisp white linens on the bed. Managed and maintained well. Impressed despite the hotel being an older building--one wouldn't know from the inside.

It is a very nice boutique hotel, located in most safe and prestige suburban, a lot good restaurants surrounding ,it is a best area of Bogota. Front desk Manager Serbto Gil was very help full ,he according the time I stay in Bogota and design a routes to tour in Bogota. He recommend a driver Miguel take me around all the tourist spots, it is very efficient and conveni...

One of the worst for me. I travel the world. The hotel has 2 buildings the new one and the old one. I was dumped by some nasty clerk in the old building. She gave ma hard time to register, She was as nasty as you ever will find some one. She said I missed my reservation. I had paid for 3 nights prepaid.I reserved the new hotel. She dumped me in the old hotel and gave...

Medellin Colombia, is mixture of New York City marry to Miami Latin spirit..you must stay at the Inntu Hotel it a 21 Central modern designs hotel and helpful staff it will surprise your experiences it has past all Panama City Pamama infrastructure hotel ..this hotel is the. Hot spot of Columbia it will best Hotel in Medellin..

Excellent location in old city. An easy walk to explore the city. Excellent value but remember it is Colombia so the room is spartan and the entire property is not posh. The included breakfast was great and the terrace was wonderful. The staff was very helpful but English was very limited as expected. Would stay here again

Fantastic little hotel about 15 min walk from the walled city. This really is an amazing hidden gem about 5-10 min walk from the walled city. Location was great, the 'grounds' of the hotel were lovely and the traditional feel of the rooms was a nice touch. Really loved it here and cannot wait to go back.

Perfect location at Cartagena walled city. Very good breakfast and friendly staff. Rooms are neat and comfortable. Ijust did not like the fact that I stayed in a room that the toilet door was made of glass, so we could see everything, a little bit of lack of privacy but it was ok. Sometimes one of us had to leave the room. kkkkkkkk Small swimming pool on the top of the...

We have stayed in hotels al over the world and the staff at this hotel were the best we have ever encountered, very friendly and service oriented. It is a charming, traditional hotel in an excellent location within the historic centre of the city. The small rooftop pool and bar are delightful. There is a small gym with aerobic equpment but no weights. The beds are lar...

I am an American Gringo from Florida and my Fiancee is from Bogota, Columbia. We wanted the 2017 Christmas and New Year's to be very memorable. The Diez Hotel added to our Wonderful time. We found the Mountain view from our room to be absolutely breathtaking. Our room #522 was clean, modern and functional. The free breakfast was very good with many things to chose f...

The room was lovely; big, spacious, clean, and complete with excellent facilities. The location is great, right round the corner from some excellent restaurants and cafes. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the service. The receptionist tried to charge us for the room on arrival. Luckily I had printed off my Agoda confirmation e-mail stating that I had al...

This hotel is perfect for single travelers and apparently couples/families.I am here now and have seen both staying here.Close to parque Lleras and public transportation.Staff speaks English and have helped me in any of my requests.Jacuzzi on the roof with great views. I just booked more nights here.

I happened to have upgraded room while I was staying there as my booked room was pretty standard. I ended up with larger room which has double vitrages so that I could sleep longer without being waken up by the sun. When you experienced long distance trip, you really need a double vitrages room to allow you sleep overcoming your jetlag. Other than that, i do expect the...

Pros: The hotel is in a great location for doing many of the top tourist attractions. You can walk most places. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is nice. The place is clean. Cons: The beds were hard as a rock, the sheets are rough, and the walls are paper thin. The first night we were on the 9th floor on the front side of the building and I couldn't sleep ove...

It was great. Staff was super helpful and polite. They went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The building itself is incredible. Beautiful courtyard with gardens and huge high ceiling rooms. All is a bit outdated but I think that added to the 'Old World' feel. One issue were the plug air refreshers. Either take them out or replace with aromatic natural oils.

We booked this hotel because it was a late trip and very few options were available. The room is nice and the staff is very professional and helpful. The location is also great. However, once we went around we realised that we could have booked a much better boutique hotel and around the same price. Probably with a pool and other facilities.

Pros - in the middle of the action and close to transportation. I stayed in an executive suite with a balcony overlooking Sententa Ave and a panoramic view of the valley & mountains. I never tried the included breakfast, opting for morning coffee at nearby El Buho Cafe. Great value for this type of accommodation. Cons - I read other reviews, and there is some bit of t...

The Click Clack Hotel is a fun boutique hotel in an upscale part of town. I stayed in a 2nd floor room with a patio which was beautiful. It was easy to get around to the places we wanted to go to and the shopping and restaurants nearby were excellent. The staff was very nice and spoke excellent English. My only complaint is that I had to ask three times for extra hang...
Cheap places to stay in Colombia

Very nice and welcoming staff. They tried their best to not only make my stay comfortable, but also made sure if my day-trips go smoothly. Even though I didn’t book my trips with them (which I should, the price is the same if book with them, and there will be free pick-up from the travel company). The rooms are very clean. Liked the hammocks on the roof. Location is g...

Hostal Vista Hermosa could be the best place that I have ever stayed at in Colombia (and I have traveled extensively in Colombia) when taking into consideration how much it cost per night. I had a private room for one person and the shared shower. The hostal is at the end of a road in a residential area and so it was quite quiet at night (with a really nice view of t...

I planned to spend 2 nights, ended up staying 11. What a lovely place. Great withdrawal away from the tourists. Brilliant vegetarian food made with love by the owners. Daily fresh salads from the garden. Good location between San Gil and Barichara (all bus drivers and taxis know where to find this place). Outdoor showers. Public kitchen. The beds are comfortable and ma...

very nice hostel and property with pool. some of the dorms are pretty small, so make sure you get into the 8bed dorm. they have hot water, a good breakfast choice and a great pool for relaxing after your hikes and tours. as well very welcoming staff, booked tours, have a lot of info and let me use all facilities even after check out.

Great location in Guatapé. The breakfast and Thai restaurant were quite good. The dorm was quite spacious and lockers were provided. The only problem was that the bathrooms were not cleaned daily and the hot water was not working in the showers the second day.

I booked 1 night in a tent and stayed 4! It's a quiet location and about 10 minutes walk to the center square plaza. The nature looks brilliant. The tent is only for solo traveler. It isn't warm inside, so it's not a problem to sleep in. Love this place. I'll come back!

I was seeking for hotels where pets are allowed... but no privat bathrioms is a no go. especialy when traveling with cat is cleanness very important and a bathroom in the room needed... cats are terfified by traveling... a bath must be accessable without opening a door. Nice people...and quiet... the most hitels in colimbia are sick loud... but that is basic...

Family owned business. Really nice people and very helpful. Good breakfast and clean beds & linens.. awesome dog family ( puppies !! ) in my humble opinion the best hostel in Leticia considering pool, grounds and maintenance.. I’d definelty stay there next time I pass thru Leticia :)

Very cute place. Shared shower and bathroom were good except for bugs. Mosquito net provided and each room has its own hammock on the balcony. Community kitchen with free drinking water and staff made coffee in the morning. Nice open air kitchen and dining area to use.

We read a lot of good reviews about this hostel and some odd ones as well. Overall, our experience there was superb. We were greeted by a bubbly attendant named Ricardo who explained everything and got us sorted. We stayed in room 6 on the second floor with 4 beds and a locked door. Below I’ll list the pros and cons. Pros: Amazing location. It is located right on t...

Perfectly located close to the shore, La Españolete is an adorable little hostel with one large dorm and I believe a single private room. The comon area is lovely with an open-air concept that will make you want to stay there all day basking in the breeze. The Homie Moses at front desk can help you with seemingly everything in the world, and speaks perfect English! Swe...

We stayed in a private room with air conditioning - the air conditioning worked really well, and was definitely necessary! We stayed in room 3 which seemed to be a bit nicer than the other private rooms, if you can get it. The hostel is clean and seems to be well run, with a very usable kitchen. A couple of complaints: 1) the location isn't great - it's a bit of a wal...

I loved this hostel mostly due to the staff and fellow travelers. From management to the daily staff members, everyone was very friendly and helpful with whatever you needed. Thus is located in a great area of the city and a quick walk to most of the popular destinations you want to visit.

I had an excellent stay at Cachiri House, and I actually extended my time in Pasto because I loved this hostel so much. Mateo was extremely welcoming and gave thorough information about the carnival celebration, and he even took a group of us out to see the parade. Great vibe, awesome staff, free breakfast, quiet location, and warm atmosphere. Thank you!

One of my favourite so far in Colombia, it's a perfect mix of relaxed and calm hostel, with a common area where to talk and meet the other travellers. Jessica and Lorena, as well as Thias and Gustavo, and all the ladies of the staff are really nice people and made my stay perfect. Located at 10 minutes walk from the centre, it's quite and breakfast is very good. I was ...

The first day we had no water. The second day the water worked, but it was only dripping, so there was barely any. And there was no hot water at all. The wifi didn't work in our room, even though it said it would. Sometimes it didn't even work by the lobby or on the terrace. Bugs everywhere, even in the room. The bed felt like it was going to fall apart. Nice view thou...

The staff at Eliana were great from start to finish and helped make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Communicating in a mixture of Spanish and English we stayed in one room which was really cozy and then some more nights in the apartment so that we could do some cooking for ourselves. Jesus the manager (perfect English) was extremely accomodating and made sure we we...

My flight landed an hour early and the arranged taxi was there waiting. I arrived at Casa R10 at around 4am and the friendy staff checked me in and showed me to my room without any concern with early checkin. Great hostel, helpful and friendly staff in a good location, with a welcome vibe. Will definitely stay here on my return to Bogota.

Excellent hotel/apartment well equipped. Friendly and attentive staff. Ideal location close to two major shopping malls - walk distance. One located on the other side of the street. Silent neighbour hood with great restaurant's in the area. Definitely worth a try.

It was a decent stay. I wanted to feel a bit more special, being a gold elite member at Holiday Inn, but they didn't give me much extra. Instead I was forced to pay for things like local calls. I accepted these extra fees but it would have been nice if they gave me a freebie on this stay In general the rooms are ok, the pool is nice, the gym has a few cardio machines...

Downtown but a blk off of the real noise of the town. Easy walking everywhere. They stored our luggage while we went out for a three day jungle tour and kep my husbands medicine refrigerated. The manager has a eye on everything and the staff was bith happy and friendly! Would recommend to anyone.

Over priced for what you get. On check in the person in front of me was given a bottle of water, when I checked in and asked about water I was told there was some in the mini bar... at $4 a bottle! A hotel that cost this much should have complimentary water. Also the hotel is not where it is pinned on Agoda and is a 5-10 minute drive away, and the last shuttle stops at...

Everything great, especially great staff. Only two things to criticize: 1.the breakfast (especially the bread/toast) is not at the same level as the hotel is. 2. The room with terrase has a TV but you can not watch because the bed is not in front of the TV, and the TV is not movable

the hotel is extremely clean, look as if its just been built. great location in a very safe & close to main cafes & restaurants near by. the downside perhaps, during friday & saturday evening, it can be noisy. though that didnt bother me. highly recommend it! btw, the metro to the centre is one block away. again, its extremely safe & clean. best way to travel around me...

I spent 2 nights at the Estancia de La Mantilla. It's in a great location! It's peaceful and quiet. The breakfast is simply yet done with the freshest ingredients, making it so delicious. The staff is super helpful. I enjoyed the stay and moving to a 5 star after that (for work) made the switch a little difficult, I do miss the sanctuary like feel of Estancia d...

i can’t think of any bad views of this place, stopped here for 5 nights & really enjoyed my stayed. 30-35 minutes from the airport & the area is very safe. staffs are friendly, helpful & speak english which is hard to find in colombia. it’s quite away from the main attractions but their transmilleno buses services here are great. half an hour to town, love it!

Very good location, close to the metro station. In close neighborhood there is also a shop where you can buy everything you need. Very close there are many places where you can eat tasty. The hostel itself is very well maintained, clean and has many amenities for its guests. The staff are helpful in every matter and always smiling. Various thematic events are organized...

We stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Boutique Casa Isabel. Among our highlights were the complimentary breakfasts in the morning and fresh juice drinks as we arrived from touring or a day at the beach. Luis and Jaime, hotel staff who were there to immediately attend to us, are just the loveliest people. This hotel is also just around the corner from the Plaza Trinidad, wher...

The people in the recption were very frienly, helpful and quick. It's in a good location and has a nice pool. The hotel is however more of a good three star hotel rather than a four star. It's located in an area where nearby there are many good and varied restaurants.

Regina has it all, an enviable location right off Jimenez, one could not find a more central location in La Candelaria district, the very heart of Historic Bogota. Close by to the most complete bookstore in Bogota Lerner and shooting distance from Waffle and Crepes, my favorite Colombian food chain. Many eateries, museums, sites of interest (Cerro de Monserrate tramw...

We stayed as a couple before our wedding. We had four rooms booked in the hotel. Although there was some confusion with the booking before we arrived everything was fine once we were in Cartagena. The hotel helped with dry cleaning and transfers from the airport for our family. Everyone was very happy with their rooms and the breakfast next to the swimming pool on the ...

Pros: location, nice clean rooms, restaurant had decent food and included buffet breakfast. Cons: none really. Although it was listed as 5 star it definitely wasn’t actually a legit 5 star. It was a solid 3.5 I’d say. You simply cannot have a 5 star for under a couple hundred dollars a night, and this hotel was around $60

The room we stayed in is clean, spacious and the bed was so comfortable. The hotel is situated in a great location (within less than a minute walk to the main strip) but far enough from the noise. Staff members are polite and helpful with any requests. Included breakfast was amongst the best we’ve had on the trip.

The hotel lies in a really pretty area of the city, which looks a bit like something out of Europe. It is beautifully designed and the rooms are very spacious. The hotel staff is very helpful and assisted us in any way imaginable. The breakfast is delicious (the croissants are better than in Europe) and there's enough food to choose from. We really enjoyed our stay at ...

We had a overnight stay in this grand old building. We had a lovely sauna, spa, steam bath and swim. Look at th epics, this building offers a romantic image of another time. Our condo was terrific - great terrace with wonderful view of the lake and "the rock". No complaints there. We arrived on a Tuesday and restaurant/check in was very crowded. Had to wait until 3 to check in. The reception is at the bar in the restaurant. Later when we called to make reservations in the restaurant we were told it was a holiday and the restaura...

We enjoyed our stay at the Park 10. It is in a very good location in close walking distance from some great restaurants (eg, Carmen). The staff were all very nice and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. I feel the hotel is a little dated and the rooms are probably due for a refurbishment but overall a nice stay.

During my visit to Medellin, I stayed at the Binn Hotel for just under two weeks. The hotel is quite central to most attractions and hot spots. Part of my package was free breakfast and wifi which made this a really great deal. Overall it's a very new hotel and very clean. It's well staffed so response times are great for room service, cleaning and over maintenance of...

Facilities are modern & clean. The staff is very helpful for whatever you need and there is usually at least one staff member at the desk who speaks English. Breakfast and coffee are delicious as well as dinner. It was a taxi ride from the town square, but I was still very pleased since there was some shopping close by.

This was honestly one of the best hotels I've stayed in! The hotel room was beautifully done with extremely comfortable beds and the bathrooms were spacious and clean. The only downside was the TV didn't have many channels in English and we couldn't plug our external hard drive in to it but we coped fine. The staff are exceptional, they are very friendly and couldn't ...

It's not my first time staying here. Generally speaking, I like this hotel, and the service in here is absolutely nothing to complain about. Breakfast is the best of all my trips, and room is nice too. Some part maybe WiFi is a little weak, but they can provide free routers to amplify the signal, so no problem. Convenience store is very near also.

More about Colombia
Exciting Reasons to Explore the Wonders of Colombia
Colombia is a land of contrasts, where vibrant cities meet breathtaking landscapes, and rich cultural heritage intertwines with modern life. From the bustling streets of Bogotá to the colorful colonial architecture of Cartagena, every corner of Colombia offers a unique experience. Travelers will find themselves captivated by the warm hospitality of the locals, known as *paisas*, and the lively rhythms of music that fill the air. The country's diverse ecosystems, ranging from lush rainforests to stunning beaches, provide endless opportunities for adventure and exploration.
One of the highlights of visiting Colombia is the chance to experience its natural beauty. The Amazon rainforest, the Andes mountains, and the Caribbean coastline are just a few examples of the stunning environments waiting to be explored. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike to the breathtaking heights of Mount Monserrate, where panoramic views of Bogotá await. For those seeking relaxation, the pristine beaches of Baru Island offer the perfect backdrop for sunbathing and water sports. Colombia's varied landscapes cater to every type of traveler, ensuring that there is something for everyone.
Cultural experiences abound as well, with festivals and events showcasing Colombia's rich traditions. The annual Barranquilla Carnival, a UNESCO recognized celebration, bursts with color, music, and dance, inviting visitors to join in the festivities. Additionally, the Gold Museum (*Museo del Oro*) in Bogotá provides a glimpse into the country's pre-Columbian history, housing an impressive collection of artifacts that tell the story of Colombia's indigenous peoples. With so much to see and do, Colombia is truly a destination that promises unforgettable memories.
When to Experience Colombia at Its Best
Colombia's climate is as diverse as its landscapes, making it a year-round destination. However, the best time to visit largely depends on the region and the experiences you seek. Generally, the dry season from December to March and July to August is considered ideal for exploring most parts of the country. During these months, you can expect pleasant weather, perfect for outdoor activities and sightseeing. The Caribbean coast, particularly Cartagena, is particularly inviting during this time, with warm temperatures and clear skies.
In addition to favorable weather, Colombia hosts a variety of local festivals and events that add to the travel experience. The Feria de las Flores in Medellín, held in August, showcases the city’s floral heritage with parades, concerts, and cultural displays. For those interested in music, the Festival de la Leyenda Vallenata in Valledupar, celebrated in April, is a must-see, as it highlights the vibrant vallenato music genre. Planning your trip around these events not only enriches your experience but also allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture.
While peak tourist seasons can lead to crowded attractions and higher accommodation prices, the shoulder seasons—April to June and September to November—can offer great deals and fewer crowds. These months are perfect for travelers looking to explore Colombia's hidden gems while enjoying a more relaxed atmosphere. Regardless of when you choose to visit, Colombia's charm and beauty will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.
Essential Travel Tips for a Smooth Colombian Adventure
Traveling to Colombia can be a thrilling experience, but it’s essential to be prepared to ensure a smooth adventure. Safety is a priority, and while many areas are safe for tourists, it’s wise to stay informed about your surroundings. Stick to well-traveled areas, avoid displaying valuables, and use reputable transportation options. Engaging with locals can enhance your experience, so learning a few basic phrases in Spanish can go a long way. Colombians appreciate efforts to communicate in their language, and it can lead to more meaningful interactions.
Understanding local customs can also enrich your travel experience. For example, greeting people with a friendly *hola* and a smile is customary. Tipping is generally appreciated, especially in restaurants and for services, with a 10% tip being standard. When dining out, don’t hesitate to try local dishes, as Colombian cuisine is diverse and delicious. From *arepas* to *bandeja paisa*, each dish tells a story of the region's culture and history.
Lastly, having the right travel documents is crucial. Most travelers require a visa to enter Colombia, so checking visa requirements based on your nationality is essential. Additionally, carrying a copy of your passport and keeping it separate from the original can be a smart move in case of loss or theft. With these tips in mind, you’ll be well-equipped to navigate Colombia and fully enjoy all the adventures that await.
