We ended our Costa Rica trip here, and loved coming to a modern, clean, beautiful place. The surrounding area is old, and a bit dirty (it's downtown San Jose), yet this is a little Oasis of greatness right in the middle of everything that you can see in San Jose (as there's not too much to see). Staff was very friendly, and the Hotel itself was quite nice.

They didn't have a standard room ready so they upgraded us to business class. The staff spoke good English and were helpful when we asked them for assistance. We ate at the resturant and the food was superb. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Great value for your money, breakfast was awesome

we stayed for a total of 8 nights at holiday inn aurola and we would go there again anytime. it is probably be the best hotel at this price in downtown san jose. our stay was a pleasure from start to finish. we had a corner room, with great view over san jose. the bed was excellent. one of the best i slept in so far.

Bathroom needed updating, poor maintainence

Hyatt Hotels are always nice, but I was truely empressed with this one. It was located in a great plaza with lots of nice restaurants and other facilities nearby. Everything was excellent except that the orange and pineapple juice at the breakfast bar was not made from fresh fruit and tasted terrible!

Great value, quiet street, funky place and best of all awesome breakfast, custom omelettes and goodies. Stayed there several times. Good place to heal if you come for medical. Relaxing swinging chairs. 3 dollar taxi to downtown

Friendly new hotel. There are a lot of different types of restaurants on walking distance. It isn't close to the city center of San Jose. That will take about 25min/$25-$30 by taxi. To start/finalize a trip to San Jose it is a perfect place to choose.

I alwasy use this hotel when i come to Costa Rica San Jose. Their gym is amazing big and equipped. Japanese restaurant Fuji is veny nice to have.

Friendly helpful staff, great location. Easy walk to museums and surrounded by tons of great restaurants and bars.

This hotel is a good option for those on vacation, mainly if you travel with your family. Location is good, since it's on a walking distance to downtown. Also nice to have a swiming pool and free internet. However, it's not a good option for business travelers: too noise. If you need a comfortable bad, also not the best option.

That’s what I did, and why I stayed. Great little place, killer location (quiet but not far from anything), fantastic breakfasts, and Ian is easily one of the most helpful people I’ve ever met; he helped me arrange everything and had loads of helpful suggestions. Can’t recommend it enough.

if you are looking for a very cute and calm place to stay, this is perfect! its lovely decorated, very clean and soooo welcoming! we got chocolate at the arriving <3 it is a bit outside though, but we didnt care, cause we cooked for orself and had a car.

we were able to park right in front of the hotel so felt our car was safe. we were upgraded so were extremely happy with our room. the hotel was very eco friendly. there was a cool terrace to sit out on and enjoy a book or just relax. the ambience was nice.

I was impressed with the helpfulness and patience of the staff in booking a visit to the Poas volcano, as the local website kept crashing and finding us the cheapest taxi to take us there. Good location for the volcano and La Paz waterfall gardens. The rooms were good and clean and there was a lovely little garden to sit in

Only a couple Cons. Walls between rooms are so thin you can have a conversation thru the walls. Understanding it is in a rain forest .... be careful of the snakes on the walkways. Other than those small items (not the snakes...they are big).... we had a nice stay at this BEAUTIFUL facility and would recommend checking it out.

Great Place to stay if you're planning to visit Poas Vulcano or if you're looking for a place not to far from the airport but want to avoid the crowds of San José or Alajuela. Owner is very helpful and organized our tickets to Poas. As we had an evening flight back to Europe we could even keep our room till 5 PM without any additional charge.

Good hotel to go to national park. The night walk from the hotel with their guide Marcus was really Nice. The other trips he offered were very overpriced.

Staff was most helpful. Our transport did not turn up as planned at 1am, staff woke, made a few calls and got it settled for us.

A great place centrally located to most attractions around the Arenal Volcano. Clean and large rooms with a nice twist. Recommend this place for travelers that appreciate nature and all it has to offer. A definite place I would book again if I get the chance.

Super close to the airport and in Alajuela, so you don’t have to deal w the San Jose traffic. This was the first and last place I stayed, given its loan but also the friendliness, helpfulness, and consideration of the staff. Great people here!

The staff is the most accommodating and can help schedule all of your airport transfers. Clean hostel type stay with private rooms. SUPER close to the airport so ideal for travelers just needing to crash before or after a flight. Taxi should be $6-8 max to and from airport. Restaurant in the corner open to 12 am for food and drink.

Stayed here both at the start and at the end of our trip. The dorm was nice and clean, but a private shower would've been nice. The double room was really good. Nice and clean. The rooftop bar is a must when you stay here!

I loved the hotel! It's close to the airport and it's a quiet place to relax. It has a beautiful garden with many local species of plants. Rooms were large and clean. I will go back again soon!

This was perfect for what I needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was big and very comfortable, and the breakfast was pretty good as far as Costa Rican hotel breakfasts go. I recommend this if you have an overnight layover but it's probably not the best as a base for spending time in San Jose due to its location.

The room was huge and we love it! The owner was very friendly. Good value for money and we feel very comfortable.

We stayed for one night after a late arrival flight. Unfortunatly the free hotel shuttle service was till 11pm, this was not reported on the website or booking site, so we had to take a taxi. The next day we used the free shuttle service to get to the busstation. Staff was nice and helpfull.

Very well appointed hotel and good value. The parking can be a bit tight depending on vehicle size. Very comfortable and would stay here again.

The staff here is exceptional. I needed a comfortable spot to rest when I arrived from the airport and this was exactly what I needed. Only minutes away from the airport and when I arrived it was a mini oasis. Very secure, clean and quiet. Breakfast is served until 10 am and was terrific.

We reserved a room and when we went to check in the manager said told us there was no way he could give us that room for the amount we reserved it for. The room was incredibly noisy and we were all awake by 5:45 am because of the street noise. This place is ghetto and not worth the money. Stay at the Holiday Inn or Sheraton.

This is a nice hotel with slightly faded room appearance. Rooms are big, and the bed is comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating, finding a mini-fridge for me on request. I've stayed here before and would again if being near the airport and access to Heredia are important considerations.

Unit was full of aunts. They were on the chairs, and bit us when we unknowingly sat down on the chairs. Worst was waking up with bed bug bites all over body.

Two backpackers looking to save as much money as possible but also stay in nice places. This spot was incredible! We spent the mornings on the beach (which you look out on from your window) and our evenings sitting on our porch or on the hammocks. Staff was excellent. No complaints during our stay. The first room we got had a slight smell but we were switched to a new one right away. The pool is nice, the beach and lots of restaurants are a short walk away. The staff were super friendly. No fridges in the rooms but had access to the kitchen.

Perfect spot to get away but still be close enough to some fun. The manager was so helpful in arranging anything I wanted to do. The place was well maintained and clean, a little too big for just myself, but I enjoyed solo pool time and relaxing in the many hammocks on the property.

Esteban and the cleaning woman were both very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and began at 6:30 for those wanting to hike early. The room was small but certainly adequate.

The hotel was a ghost town, hard to find staff when problem with door arose. Beds were like sleeping on rocks, and the sheets were old and not soft with stains. Lena and Diego were amazingly helpful with things to do and booking tours / transport. It is a quiet yet very friendly place with a mix of families, couples, friends and solo backpackers. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and a good breakfast included. The showers are hot and beds comfortable. There is a nice garden to sit in after a day hiking.

This is not a 4+ star hotel, and I'm very surprised at the ratings overall. All aspects here were as good as it gets. Rooms were clean and large, beyond friendly owners who are there to help in any way, and a great location. Make sure to have breakfast as well, as their chef cooks a tremendous meal

The beach nearest the resort is not safe for swimming. There are two pool areas at the hotel but when we were there in Dec 2015 only one was clean. I went to Puerto Viejo backpacking style with friends and it was just what we needed. Very helpful staff, clean room, beach front, not to far from the village (10 minutes walking) I recommend it if you're looking for something laid back.

The dorms are very small, but this explains the low price I guess. There's a kitchen that you can use, but no real common area. Only 2 showers and toilets, for about 20 people. The staff is really helpful and kind. I think that the price is fair.
