“It seems that hotel stars in Hungary are inflated. More so than in other places. The Continental is a sólida 3 star hotel in international categories. It does have the amenities and location, but the room was a little tired, and for a 4-star hotel the double room was very tight. Again, acceptable on a 3-star but not on a 4-star. We stayed there for 4 nights and I don't think that they ever vacuumed or somehow cleaned the hardwood floor. So, a negative mark here. But overall the linen freshness and cleanliness were impeccable and changed daily. Bathrooms was also properly cleaned and refreshed daily. The breakfast is tops. Large variety and constantly being refreshed and added. Top grade here. All in all a good experience!”
“In general, hotel should have at least 4 stars as the hotel room was stylish and clean, breakfast was amazing and the idea of champagne for breakfast is just so unique! The spa zone with jacuzzi and sauna is a great idea for the winter,to go to jacuzzi after a long walk around the city. The staff in this hotel, for us, has five stars! They were always friendly, willing to help and very professional. We had our flight at 8 so we had to check out at 5,so we even at that time, have got a small breakfast before flight and have got out flight tickets printed out. We really loved our stay and we highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Budapest!”
“I absoloutly loved this hotel, the staff were all really friendly and helpful and the whole style of the hotel, the spa area and the rooms is really stylish. I booked the room with a balcony which was quite large but the view wasn't great, either way it was a nice outdoor space with sun all day. The spa area is low key and not usually that busy at all, it's lovely to use the steam room or sauna and jacuzzi then sit out in the sun on the lounges outside, I didn't have any bother finding a space to lie down. The areas not the best but if you walk down the road there's a main road with a few pubs and restaurents, all cheap and cheerful and the food we got at the last in the row was lovely and very cheap. Went with my teenager and she loved it aswell. It was quiet with big rooms and comfy beds we slept so well we woke up late and they didn't charge us extra for checking out late. Highly recommend this place.”
“The staff here is friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. All of the staff that we encountered were well trained and very polished. The rooms were beautiful and spotless, as was the rest of the hotel. The extra little touches were very much appreciated as this was the final city of our very busy travels and we were becoming weary. The location was excellent. We walked everywhere. This hotel is not far from anything we wanted to see but down a side street that was very quiet. It is just around the corner from an area full of restaurants and cafes. My 18 and 22 year old daughters gave me a "gold star" for booking this hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Budapest.”
“Could not asked for more. Staff was really helpful and booked both restaurants, spas, and taxis for us. Rooms were super modern and clean, bed was comfy and it was quiet. Location is the best, more central than this you cannot go. Best thing with Budapest is all the fantastic restaurants and easiness to get around to see all attractions. Love Budapest!!”
“Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location, good facilities, very nice breakfast. Excellent value. The only slight issue we had involved our triple room for 3 adults. The air conditioning was not working in the room and it was very hot outside. At first, the staff was insistent that the a/c would start working if we just gave it more time, and they had no other triples available for the night. Finally, at around 11pm, they agreed to allow us to move to two double rooms for the first night, and then they moved us to a different triple room for the remaining 3 nights of our stay. So, it worked out fine in the end, but was just a bit aggravating at first. Again, I highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to pay lots of money for good, 3 star hotel.”
“The stay was pleasant despite the fact that the staff at the rooftop bar was relatively unfriendly and had no service-mind. The room was small but very practical and the bed was comfortable. We had a wonderful breakfast, lots of choices from tasty warm and cold selections, the staffs at the breakfast room were very thoughtful, attentive and friendly. There is a wellness club and swimming pool at the Basement of the hotel, but with our booking, we were't entitled to use them, or unless we pay around EUR 15,- per person per day, which we found it, ridiculous for the guest to pay such amount to enter to the swimming pool at the hotel. The receptionists were helpful, though some speak little English, they tried much and put lots of efforts for us, so that we had an enjoyable stay in Budapest, thanks to the young receptionist girl, who were very friendly and attentive. About the location, we love it, the hotel located at the prime-business location of Budapest, very safe area to walk at night and all day long, only less than 2 minutes to US Embassy and a few minutes walk to the Metro Station and less than 10 minutes to Parliament House. Overall we are fairly happy with our stay at The President Hotel. Personally, we rate this hotel 3.5 stars.”
“Just the most amazing hotel experience ever, anywhere. From check in to check out everything was just perfect The location is great, close to the metro and trams. The property is awesome, the rooms are gorgeous and we loved the linen and complimentary nespresso in the room. Breakfast was first class. The staff were attentetive and extremely helpful. The room rate was a bonus and this stay was the best value for money hotel experience. I'm sure we will be back to Budapest and this hotel will be our destination. Thank you to the management and staff for a truly great stay.”
“We have been travel the world and this was one of most wonderful hotel we ever stayed. We stayed there for 3 nights before joining the river cruise. We couldn't even find one bad figure of this hotel. Wonderful hospitality, well keep old building, staff are very nice. We have booked executive room so we also have lounge to use everyday as well, snack&foods bar, champange, wines, etc Wonderful service. Other thing, breakfast was amazing. So many choices, pastry was the best you ever get in any hotel, it was fresh and delicious, most of foods ingredient you can see this hotel select only A grade. I never seen any egg that big like this hotel in my life. Hotel room is not cheap But we get what we have pay for.”
“I have returned to this hotel several times, I love it. Great staff, good location, clean spacious rooms. Its on the Buda side but I think th`e location is pretty good with a metro and tram a few minutes walk and Budapest having a great public transport system you are 10-20 minutes form anywhere in the Pest area. I have stayed in a few hotels in Pest that are old and not as clean as this despite equal star ranking as this hotel, but this hotel is modern and clean.”
“The Queen's Court Hotel is a nice, quiet place with nice big suites (we had a Superior Suite rather than a Standard). The pool & sauna area were quite small but that's all you really need for a hotel of this size. The staff were welcoming and polite although we weren't offered any assistance with our bags, which surprised me. Not that I would have taken them up on the offer if they had as we had very light luggage but most places would at least ask if you needed some help. The room itself was a very nice standard but wasn't luxurious, as you would expect for a 5 star property. Perhaps the more expensive suites would feel a bit more upmarket. All in all, I'd say it's a 4 - 4.5 star hotel. We were travelling to Budapest for my birthday and when we returned to our room in the afternoon, the front desk staff had left a bottle of wine & a note, which was a really nice touch. If you're looking for somewhere nice & quiet to rest in the evening but isn't very far from the entertainment district, then this is the place to go. Compared to other hotels of a similar standard I think we got a very good deal. We got a very good room for our money and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to others.”
“mercure city center hotel is ideally located in very center of budapest, in famous vatci utca (main pedestrian street) where lot of h palaces, places of interest, restaurants and shops can be found. well known bridges connecting banks of danube river are in close proximity as well. it’s walking distance to all attractions and museums. hotel is very well managed, great service, rooms are very spacious, clean with refrigerator, safe, good aircon system, modern bathroom, but bed could be more comfortable (too soft mattress is not what i prefer). hotel provides free wireless and can arrange taxi to pick you up/take you to the airport - one way 23 euros). next to hotel is excellent italian restaurant which i would warmly recommend (avoid those restaurants with "traditional cuisine" on huge square situated right from hotel and next to new shopping mall, its lousy food there, not worth the money!) budapest is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but 2 -3 days will be quite enough to see the most important city can offer. i would definitely stay again in hotel mercure city center if i go again to capital of hungary ! please note, if you want to stay in very center, make sure you booked “mercure city center hotel” since there are several “mercure” hotels in the town.”
“I Enjoyed my stay in this hotel and the country. It has been to date the best European country I have visited and the hotel made the holiday even better. The location of the hotel is perfect right next to the famous Chain bridge. My room had a large window which overlooked the bridge and castle across the river. At night these were beautifully lit up which made for a very romantic setting. The staff were friendly and taxis were readily available outside along with the sightseeing bus tours and river cruise just across the road.”
“I stayed two nights at Boscolo Budepest. It was amazing and given me an unique experience to my trip in Hungary . Customer service is excellent and they provide me with up to date info to various tourist spots I intended to visit. Room is spacious and clean. The lobby and New Yoke cafe dinning experience is one you shouldn't miss. ”
“Fantastic location especially if you are arriving by train to Keléti station (hotel is on your left when you come out of the station). All major sights are just a bus ride down the road and you can take literally any bus (5, 7, 178.....) going down Rákóczi Út. to get to them. Check-in at 3 pm is a little bit late if you arrive in the morning but you can leave your luggage at the reception and visit Vaydahunyad Castle and Heroes' Square which are wallking distance from the hotel in the meantime. My room and bathroom were spotless even though not the size confirmed when I booked. Breakfast buffet offers a great choice and is well worth 5 EUR. I higly recommend Novum Golden Park and will be back myself as two days were not enough to see all the sights.”
“The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Thy made the my wife and I feel very welcome and that set the tone for the entire vacation. The room was somewhat small, but it was clean and everything was in good condition. Additionally, given what we paid, the room was well worth the price. If I came back to Hungary, I would come back here.”
“Stayed overnight, as others say the location is in the very center of the city, the Great Market Hall is literally just around the corner (2 minutes of walking), as is the nearest metro station. The hotel itself is nice, clean, and quiet. Breakfast selection is quite wide and very tasty (the best I've had so far in Budapest). What I have to put on a figurative pedestal though is the reception staff - they have been very helpful, always pleasant, and went above and beyond their duties when I had a problem with transport out of Budapest and had to wait until the next morning for the next train. Residence Baron is not the cheapest option in the city. But choosing something cheaper just means you'll pay the difference in discomfort, or in sanity (speaking from experience). I'm certain that if I find myself in Budapest again, I'm staying in this hotel, they have earned a loyal customer in me.”
“It is very easy to find the hotel and it offers free street side parking (a few). It is a family run hotel, the owner are very kind and easy to communicate with in English. Location is the best feature of the hotel. It is on the Buda side of the river bank. It is all in walking distance to any major attractions of the city. There are plenty good restaurant around the hotel, we went to the Korea one close to the chain bridge and the Pizza Eataliano close to margaret bridge, both are authentic to me. We are very lucky to have the room on the 8th floor (tip: the hotel has 9th floor but the elevator only access up to the 8th floor and then need to take the stairs to the 9th floor), and the view from the bay window is spectacular. The wash room is modern and has a motion senor to turn off the lights. I had a little problem with the motion senor as I was in shower and the lights shut off from time to time caused a little bit of chaos. The breakfast has a good variety and the hot items (omlete, eggs, sausage) are made to order. The breakfast area is very busy in the morning, so get up a little early to avoid waiting for the table is a good idea. Overall, Hotel Victoria is the best choice we made among all the stays in different capitals that we visited in this short trip of Central Europe. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation.”
“the location is good. just 5 mins walk from the nearest station which is connecting to the centre and the international bus stop. so if you would like to use international bus, its gonna be really good hotel. plus, near the station there is the place to exchange money and the rate is quite nice. so I would recommend that you should exchange money not in the hotel but in the place near the station. but if you go from Japan, they will accept without change so e.g. if you wanna exchange 5000yen to hungary money, you should have 5000yen.”
“When I was about to check in I was told there was an error in my reservation - the days was offset by one day and they had expected my arrival the day before! However, without any argument the receptionist kindly offered to correct the booking free of charge, even though the fault was not at the hotel. I was amazed they didn't use the situation to cash in a few extra $$ but I guess it shows their dedication in making the stay as pleasant and free of troubles for the traveler as possible. A big star in their book for that! As for the rest of the stay, it was worth every cent. The location is about perfect for Budapest, close to the river, the main shopping street, and right next to the metro and trams. The rooms was very well cleaned and even though small (they warn about this on their page) the space is well used so they don't feel that small. And the breakfast was very well for being free of charge. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended! (Business travelers beware, there is a computer at the lobby and a free wi-fi hotspot, but the wi-fi does not work from the rooms.)”
“We had a lovely relaxing break, the rooms were fantastic, clean and comfortable, we had a room with a river view which I highly recommend. Breakfast was great, loads to choose from. Very clean and friendly hotel and city, we would definitely book here again ”
“For $100 per night you get a fully loaded apartment... I thought it was too good to be true. But it was the deal of a lifetime. Walking distance to everything, very safe - lots of cops/guards at night. Washing machine, full kitchen, separate shower & barroom, also living room, couch tv, your own physical wi-fi (I streamed movies from New Jersey to Hungary!) full kitchen with stove, fridge microwave, table chairs dishes & silverware... Staff was incredibly helpful and patient. It was a dream”
“Has all the friendliness of a hostel with the comfort of a hotel. Rooms huge and perfectly quiet. Staff super friendly. Locations AMAZING. All ruin bars nearby. The biggest and best one on the same street. They have daily events at the hostel like wine tasting, spagetti night and organised pub crawls.”
“The hotel itself was quiet and clean and in a good location. What set it apart, though, was the quality of customer service I received. The desk receptionist,, spoke excellent English and assisted me in finding the price, directions, and time of a local Budapest soccer game. He went out of his way to answer all of my questions, pinned the most important places on my map so that I wouldn't get lost, gave me step-by-step instructions on how to get there, looked up the game time to find out when I should arrive, and even made recommendations for local cuisine in the area of the soccer stadium. Checking in and out was painless and easy. The front desk receptionists gave me concise directions on how to get to the airport by train and even sold me the proper bus ticket to get between the train station and airport. I didn't spend too much time in the hotel since I was out in the city most of the time. However, I was happy with the quality of the rooms, beds, cleanliness, and the patio which gave a nice view of the city in the morning.”
“I had a fab week in this hotel. To be honest I read some reviews before I booked this hotel and wasn't really sure what to expect but I highly recommend this hotel for everyone since it is well worth it comparing the money I spent. ”
“In a few words: Okay - Good Hostel I would stay there again This Hostel has a special flair which is somewhere between awesome and a bit rundown. The Main area has several rooms and two kitchens, multiple bathrooms and showers. It's has everything you need and looks pretty amazing on the first look. If you watch closer you can see that the condition and cleanliness could be better. Many of the people working there are people staying in the hostel. They do their job and are friendly, but they don't put in any extra effort. The second and separate main area/kitchen/bathroom is used by these workers and long-term workers staying in the hostel and not that well taken care off. Nevertheless this is still acceptable, it just has so much potential to be really awesome. Location is near the most famous spa and has a good connection to the city centre (~20 mins) with transportation Bering pretty cheap. Some nice restaurants, bakeries and a supermarket in walking distance.”
“Best for the price. Highly recommended. One of the receptionist was pretty. ”
“It is very clean and wide also staff is pretty friendly. Just one problem is a hungarian boy in the room who has been living long time has never taken shower. His smell is like a yogurt has rotten for an age. OMG ”
“The location of the hostel is good to walk around the city, but hard to find out first time. The hostel has lots of the rooms, and mixed dormitory room where I stayed is good. It had two shower booth, two independent toilets. There is a indivisual big locker and this is very convenient. The stuffs were very kind and friendly to give me an information of the city. The price is cheap when you book earlier.”
“Private room in hostel for very low price. The room was clean and basic. Don't expect much but the price is very cheap. Not bad for a quick overnight stay. Check in involves calling the owner once you arrive and he will show up later to collect payment. It's a bit unusual but he was very friendly. Again, you are only paying $10 for a private room so overall not bad.”
“I think this should be the owner of the hotel in order to help travelers from countries that can afford the lowest price, but can enjoy excellent value for money accommodation and travel. I give this hostel owner supremacy highest respect!”
“clean, good location, room is big, and due to the low season the price is good. We stayed for four days, met three girls in reception. Two pretty girls is really helpful, and another one is rude. I booked for 2days at first before we arrived, and want to extend another two days so i booked from agoda again. The rude girl said that i booked two different apartment from them so i need to move out in the third day and move again in the fourth day , i showed her my agoda booking that i booked, its definitely is the same room, even the address is the same. She said what she can see is we booked the different room, she keep saying that is not her fault , and i showed her my booking again, she talked very loud and asked me go contact agoda by myself and we must move out .Suddenly another staff is came out, she asked the rude girl about this matter, after me show her my booking in agoda, she said its Weird maybe system problem but definitely not my fault, so we can remained the same room for another two days. So,what happen for the rude girl and what is her insisted on ? yet the attitude is rude and impatient”
“Great people running this place! Best location, very ambitious..remodeling and making it nicer as we speak. Internet is the fastest I have ever experienced..somewhere at more than 300 MB!!! Can not be beaten in any aspects. Thank you!”
“The Hostel is located in a nature conservation area, close to the Margaret Bridge, and it took only five minutes to reach the public transportation. The accomodation is clean, which also has a beautiful huge terrace, and the stuff is up-to-date and flexible. The house policy contains some things such as: after 10 pm you have to keep the silence providing the guests a restful sleep. The fully equipped kitchen can be used at any time of the day and at the bottom of the hostel you can find a pub which depending on the weather offers some kind of specialties and you can choose from many varieties.( The langos was the best one)On the Island also has sport swimming pool, Japanese garden and a little Zoo which offers a lot of opportunities. I think one day way too enough to explore not just the city but the Island also. I highly recommend this accommodation not just for a day but for more nights! The taxi cannot go inside the Island, so you have to go by walk or rent a bike etc...”
“Cons: 1) No sign or any mention of the hostel at the front door for the building and no information on how to get in. 2) We booked two beds in a six bed dorm that apparently does not exist. The smallest dorm room was 8 bed.. 3) There is only one toilet for the whole hostel (I think 18 beds) so be prepared to wait.. There is a second room with shower only. 4) The kitchen is very small. 5) The cleanliness can be improved especially in the bathroom and kitchen. 6) I had to wait till the following day (we stayed two nights) for part of my change (credit cards are not accepted) 7) No lockers Pros: 1) Good location 2) Cheap price 3) wi-fi works well.”
“The staff was amazing and so helpful and nice, the rooms are big and clean. The common areas are kept clean as well! Location wise it was perfect for me but I know some people would like it a bit more “central”, the metro and tram is right next door, there is a lidl and shopping center 3-5 minutes walk from the hostel. Stayed 2 nights longer, really good, they are renovating the garden (June 2017) by December it should be a banging place!”
“This place is good for a budget traveller . Good location and its cheap to stay for couple of nights ”
“I booked the place only when they had a discount in which case it’s great. But if the price goes above 10 euro I would choose another place. The staff is really fun. Really great! The place is very new. Design is sort of good. The kitchen is equipped with dishwashers. There is a very good choice or free teas. They ask you to label your food but don't provide a pen. Wi-Fi is tolerable. Laundry service is outright bad. It costs 7 euro (more expensive than in Rome) and they ruined my clothes (temperature was too high for synthetic tourist equipment?). I had to buy a new hat after that. The cleaning staff is amazing but the cleaning is done only ones a day. Sor in the evening the toilets can become really nasty again. Showers are non-lockable. The beds have their own power outlets and reading light, and curtains. The location is quite good for nightlife. It's about 100 meters from the most famous and very interesting ruin bar.”
“I stayed at the 12-bed dorm, and beds were tidy and fairly comfortable. They even made my bed on the third day, even though I was checking out the next day. I strongly recommend checking in early so you get to pick the bed in the best position (i.e. against the wall, not too close to other beds). There was only one ensuite bathroom in the room, but more bathrooms outside. I never had an issue with having to wait to use the bathroom. There are lockers both inside and right outside the room. And every bed gets a tray to place non-valuables which you can stow under your bed. But the highlight of my stay was the professionalism, warmth and hospitality of the staff! Tom gave me a smooth check-in and explained everything well, Schilla and Fanny both made me feel very welcome at the Froccs tasting night (highly recommended if you want to chill and socialise), and Mata was always ready to help out with guests' queries, and would happily research online if he didn't have the answers. Maverick came highly recommended from other travellers that I met before I arrived in Prague, and no regrets there. Would definitely stay again, and that's because of the lovely staff that made my stay so much more memorable :) Thank you!”
“Everything was perfect. I'm pretty sure that I have quite many hostel experiences and here was best. Every single staff was so friendly and they were always ready to help everything. The room was spacious and cozy. They do clean every single space. Also common space was cozy just like I'm at home. They have best bathrooms compared to other Hostels. Every facilities are well-maintained. I would definitely choose this hostel again.”
“I hadn't ever stayed in a hostel before so didnt know what ti expect but was pleasantly surprised. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The rooms, kitchen and bathrooms were clean. Location couldn't have been better, we walked everywhere during out stay (although local public transport is available). Only downside was the property was a little bit difficult to locate at first, but after finding it once it wasn't a problem.”
“Very friendly staff who speak English fluently and great location in the centre. Mostly suitable for young people who like clubbing until late.”
“I stayed in this hostel only for 1 night as early morning I had to catch a train from Kelenfold train station. It is just 20mins walk away from the hostel. Also, using trams or buses it was easy to get to the centre, only 10mins away or even it was possible to walk 40mins. Staff was very nice and quick in doing the check-in. Even helped with tram tickets. Hostel was clean and good value. Just in the summer it might be a bit hot without air condition.”
“Only one of the staff could speak English. She was very friendly and accommodating. The bathroom is kinda stinky. Great location though, just 3-5 minutes from metro”
“Das Nest is a welcome alternative to the many 'party' hostels that populate Budapest. It's a small boutique place that feels much more homely than the large hostel in the centre. The staff are extremely friendly and chilled out. The highlight of the hostel is the interior design. It's good a very unique, hippy yet modern and stylish look that makes the whole place feel very cozy with plenty of space to chill. It's quite a good place if you need to get a bit of work done also. The rooms are spacious and modern. The sheets could do with being updated as they were a little worn.”
“The hostel is very quiet, just 1 minute away from the metro station and is very close to the main attraction in Budapest. The room is very spacious for 4 person, with a sofa and desk for in room used. There is also a good price supermarket nearby, about 5 minutes walk. The kitchen is the best, well equiped and had all the utensils that needed. I love it so much. They even provide free laundry to min stay of 3 nights and it is just excellent. The hostel staffs are also super friendly and provide all the information needed for the city. They are also so kind that even after check out, they still allow me to take a shower and it is just extra points for traveller who is taking late night departure.”
“We're a couple in our mid 20's who like clean accommodation but with a bit of a relaxed / social vibe. This is exactly what we got at Wombats. We arrived early Friday 16th and were too early to check-in, so left our luggage at the storage and went walking. It rained heavily and we got soaked, so returned to the hostel earlier than check-in (check-in is at 2pm). A very understanding guy (with a beard) and Irish lady allowed us to check in early as the room was ready... we needed a shower badly!! So, first positive experience was the friendly attitude of the staff... always a nice thing. This was our only staff interaction as we were always out-and-about apart from check-in / check-out (check-out took less than a minute, no issues at all) The room (private, double) was clean... what more can I say? That's all we wanted and that's what we got. If I could say one thing, it is to purchase better quality pillows. Just note that as you can see from pics, the floor is Lino, not carpet. I actually prefer this as it's more hygienic, but it's just not all that luxurious on your feet, but remember this is a hostel! We will return to Budapest next year and we will stay at Wombats again. PS. The lift worked. The wi-fi worked fine. I cannot comment on the AC as we were using it to heat the room instead of cooling it down.”
“Overall great time. I've met people here that I will continue to be in touch with in the future. The price I got for my room was excellent, and the cleaning service does their job on a daily basis. Unfortunately, if you plan to stay a long time, this hostel needs to fix their washers and dryers before I give them 5 stars. Their washers/dryers are very poor quality, and take far more money than necessary to properly clean your cloths. That is my main complaint. Other than that, stay here and have an AMAZING experience in Budapest! Overall, yes, stay here.”
“The hostel was in a great location, and if you. Like old buildings, this one's for you. The room was simple, nothing too fancy… But the location was great. The metro and restaurants are very close nearby. The staff was friendly, but misunderstood my booking and charge me twice. I'm waiting to get reimbursed for one day that I overpaid. The cost overall was very nice at nine euro per day. I think this would be a good hostile if I go to and the hostel could communicate better about how to receive payments and verify. Cheers! Safe and happy travels!”
“Very helpful and friendly owner, comfortable beds, fast Wifi, nice clean rooms and communal kitchen. The location of this Guesthouse is close to the city center and also close to the lake Balaton. Very good restaurants and a supermarket nearby. Thank you - i will come back!”
“The room was clean and comfortable however the hotel isn't in the same building shown in the photos its about 1km away, theres a city tax and cleaning fee they make you pay after your stay even after you paid your full amount online and it states they have luggage storage online but then tell us we cant store our bags making us find another option. Overall room was okay but wouldnt recommend as is very misleading”
“I really liked this place - especially since I got it for a promotional price. It's basically an apartment, and mine was a big studio with a nice view and large balcony. You have a kitchenette with all that's needed, bathroom with shower and even a box for used clothes (nice touch :P), a quite big room with a nice bed and huge drawer, a table and chairs, a sofa, TV, internet connection etc etc. Excellent for longer stays or when you want to feel almost like home. Plus it has a 24h desk, there's a parking garage (2EUR/day) or you can park in front (free on weekends) and also a restaurant. 2 supermarkets are within 2min of walking (Lidl and Spar).”

“I had a fantastic time at the Hotel Divinus, the classiest hotel in Debrecen! Awesome dinner and breakfast offered included in the room price! The wellness center is amazing , state-of-the-art facilities, a special mention to Mesi from the wellness centre who is a very knowledgeable, dedicated staff! Highly recommend Hotel Divinus for a luxurious, relaxing experience!”
“The room was perfect and the location was ideal for a first visit to Budapest. Breakfast was good and staff service was friendly and professional. The only part of the hotel that wasn't 5 star was the bathroom. This was old and outdated. Still with a shower over the bath and the hair dryer over heated when used. I actually felt that the bathroom also needed a really good clean and paint job if it was to match the rest of the hotel. However, if we returned to Budapest I would probably choose this hotel again because of its superb location.”
“We had a great time in this hotel. The spa center is great; the food is very nice and the staff very friendly. We had a very relaxing stay and will gladly go back. Lake Heviz is very close by and a lot of fun too. Tip: You can hire bikes from the Hotel. ”
“You would think you walked into a interior design showpiece when you first step into the hotel and up to your room. Lovely and professional staff that made our 2 night stay a pleasant one. Location of the hotel is relatively good - it depends whether you prefer the Buda or Pest side. Whichever the case, it is right next to the Chain bridge and the Buda castle funicular. You must have a drink at roof top bar (reservation recommendation) as you have one of the best the viewpoint of the Danube river and Pest from there. I would have given a 5 star if not for the size of the hotel room (too small for better comfort) and the impractical design of the room; especially the toilet. Also, what is a tad disappointing is that I paid for a Danube view double room but only got half a view.”
“Beautiful Hotel in Budapest and the service was superb. Christian at the concierge was so helpful with all our queries. Definitely one pf the best if not the best accommodation in the city. ”
“It's generally considered the best or one of the best hotels in Pest. Near the river, right in the middle of the picture-postcard part of town, walking streets, and the best shopping an dining. Ironically, the building itself is a modern eyesore in my opinion. Rooms on the square are best, and there are many standard rooms with that view. The pool is too small and the spa not very good. But the rooms are very nice, with very comfortable beds and the service is the best possible. Buffet breakfast is pretty spectacular.”
“I book the hotel for my two bosses who had a business trip on budapest The first booked is for 2 nights and two rooms But they had to extend the meeting so i booked another 1 night and two rooms I already send a message to hotel with explanation 'this is extended guess from booking code xxxxxx' I double check with agoda team and agoda team its enough to make them (hotel) know But when my boss check out,the hotel ask them to pay for the last night because hotel said you only paid for two night and they debit my boss credit card.they insist we dont pay enough nights I call agoda cs and they call the hotel directly after tht the hotel credited the payment that they debit through my boss credit card (because we paid it full before they arrived) Thank you so much agoda cs team.and for budapest team, you should learn more about all the information detail of your guess..it makes you look unprofessional as a 5 star hotel.”
“First, the staff at the hotel are incredible. Quick to arrange anything you want. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the location is absolutely perfect, right opposite the Chain Bridge. Its the kind of hotel you look forward to coming back to. Room and bathroom are also very nice. Beakfast was good but the hot food, eggs, pancakes, etc. were a little below par. Charcuterie is excellent. And the bar makes wonderful cocktails.”
“The place wasn't to big but not too small. The owner was lovely and ever so helpful. The area is great if you do not want to be in the city centre. Very calm and an amazing restaurant just round the corner. ”
“There was no hot water or heat during my stay. I was not offered any compensation. The unit is in a great location but a ton of construction going on outside the apartment at the moment. The unit is spacious and airy but dark and quiet. Otherwise its just OK. Its also not a true 2 bedroom... More like one bedroom plus loft. So if you need two bedrooms that are private this might not work. I didn't mind the place but will look for something else next time.”
“This is an acceptable place. Certainly not "Fantastic" or "8.6" or any other ridiculous superlatives Agoda now gives to most every hotel it sells! The worst part is the entry - on a side street, dark at night/limited street lights, no illuminated hotel signage, and a dimly lit lobby. This creates an unsettling experience. It is also worth mentioning that it is a bit further from the train station than one might think as this area has very large streets and very long blocks - a rather impersonal part of town better for driving than for walking. Fortunately, it gets better once inside the room. It was relatively modern, clean. Minor issues included a not-so-fresh smelling bathroom, the toilet kept running long after flushing, and the bathroom floor was wet after each shower. But for Hungary and as long as the price is right, it was an overall acceptable experience.”
“Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was an ample buffet. The only downside was 1. We booked a room with a balcony as the room was non-smoking and it was only a juliet balcony so not big enough to actually stand on. 2. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I know they sold coffee at the reception, but after spending the day exploring in the cold, it would have been good to come back and put the kettle on. 3. The fridge in the room did not work, although this was not so much of a problem in the winter so didn't complain about it. Having said all that, it was still a great hotel for the price”
“Well, we stayed at the first floor next to the elevator, :-(, the location of the hotel is really good, next to the biggest metro station and walking distance from nice streets and restaurants. The staff was really nice and helpfull. But the breakfast was not that good, always the same foods, coffee was not that good, althought they have very good coffee in Hungary, just average breakfast, the noise in the room was really bad, it is like there are no windows in the building, a lot of noise on friday and saturday night, untill 5 o clock in the morning, many ambulancs and police in the night, because the location, close to one of the biggest street, easy for visiting but not good for the noise. So i won't stay there anymore , i think you can find better for the same money.”
“My husband and I found the hotel perfect! Our room was perfect- so clean too. There was nothing to fault. The bathroom was amazing and so were the staff . The breakfast was one of the best - there was also vegetables! We couldn't believe it! And what about those delicious cakes?! We told all our friends - it was so well located for everything we wanted to see We'll definitally go back ther again.”
“I like this hotel very much. I stayed several times in this hotel, however I stayed in several other hotels in Budapest. This is for me the best one. I prefer it compared to many other hotels in Budapest. Close to the center, close to the main streets, close to the Danube river, etc...Good food, excellent breakfast, nice bar, people very pleasant and helpful. I like the free of charge Internet connection. Rooms are comfortable. This is a really good hotel to stay for 3 or 4 nights.”
“The hotel is in good condition. Location is good. It is close to train station so that we can easy find the hotel after the train from Vienna to there at Midnight. It is also very close to the underground so that it is convenience to everywhere of pudepest for sight seeing. Also good service. Clean and nice. Free internet access at lobby. ”
“At first there was a confusion when we checked in. We booked for 3 persons but were informed only 2, but in the end, it was sorted & the staff acknowledged we were right. Anyway we were ok cos the staff, Viktoria, was very polite, helpful & very pleasant. Its location is just a walking distance from various attractions like Váci Street, Vigado Square, Vorosmarty Square, Budapest Eye, etc, etc) and if you are adventurous enough, walk slightly further, you will reach Hungary Parliament House, St. Stephen’s Basilica, Szechenyi Bridge crossing over to Buda side). That was what we did. It was a nice stroll with beautiful sights of Budapest. Convenience store nearby. The only con is that customers may find it difficult to enter when arrive. As the reception area was not visible, we were confused as to how we could get into the apartment. Passcode was supposed to be used but since it was our first arrival, unless it was given prior to arrival, it wasn’t possible to know the passcode.”
“Very handy location and I liked the apartment. However, it was only after booking I became aware of time restrictions re getting the key (though not a problem for my arrival time) and that I couldn't pay for the apartment by card, only cash (euro or local). I got cash from ATM but I would have taken cash with me if I had known in advance. Great place, just information in advance was lacking (unless I didn't see it).”
“Hotel Moments was the perfect stay in Budapest. The location cannot be any better, as it is walking distance to everything. The hotel is very new, so It is clean and the amenities were fantastic. The staff was always friendly and provided great recommendations for my girlfriend and I. They are more than happy to share info on bars, restaurants, touristy things, etc. They also had one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Moments. I will stay here again when I return to Budapest.”
“Me and my husband truly recommend this hotel. Great location with main tourist attractions (such as National Museum of Hungary, Gellert's Hill, Freedom Bridge) within reach. Located near Kalvin's Square where you can transfer into metro, bus or tram. The hotel is very quiet and comfortable. The hotel stuff is absolutely marvelous, very kind and helpful and they are making great breakfast. We hope, that one day we will return to this hotel. Greetings 🙂”
“Had a glitch with Agoda reservations that included dinner while the hotel said they cannot accept that on the price we paid. Agoda team and the Hotel has worked it out for the best. Would recommend double checking that when booking.”
“Starlight was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, largely due to the fantastic staff and their service. The rooms are large, bath very nice with huge tub. Breakfast was fantastic, hot and cold options. Istvan, (Stephan) the manager did everything he could to make our stay easier...booking tickets, making calls for us, even baking us fresh croissants while we were waiting for our night train! He could/should be working at the Four Seasons! Thank you all...you make this a very special place! Georgia”
“This is the best place in Budapest to stay. The location ist absolutely perfect - it's located between the most popular sights like the Basilika, the Synagoge and the Vörösmarty Tér. You can reach all these points in around 5-10 minutes by foot. The staff is really friendly and the rooms are nice and clean. The bed is so comfortable and it's quiet outside so that you'll have a good sleep. The breakfast makes all your wishes come true! There is almost everything to eat. You can get 3 different types of croissants, doughnuts and you can also have eggs, backed beans or sausages, cake, fresh fruits,.... I would definitely come back to this hotel and recommend it to everyone! Never had such a good hotel for such a good and fair price.”
“It's a big four star hotel in Buda side of Budapest. Even though it looks a bit run-down, room is clean. Location is great. It's just right next to the metro station "Deli Palyaudvar" of line 2. It takes only about ten minutes to walk up the hill to get to Mathas Church and Fisherman's Bastion. The free wifi is fast. After all, it's a good value for a 4 star hotel. The only bad experience we had was that there were several noisy guys near our rooms which kept on screaming until mid-night but it may be a one-off happening and not much to blame the hotel. Overall, we were satisfied with Mecure Budapest Buda Hotel and would definitely stay there should we visit Budapest again.”
“Very clean and awesome hotel. Location is a bit far from old town but there are buses nearby so not a problem. Hotel very near to buda castle. Feel very comfortable in the room. ”
