The hotel has the best kitchen where we have never spent before. It was just 10-15 mins for walking to the center. Toilet was not our room, but it was still clean. Especially, we love the kitchen! The kitchen was equipped fully, so we were able to cook many meals. We will stay at this hotel if we have another chance to comeback to Iceland.

Capital Inn is located a short distance by car from downtown Reykjavik-for that matter everything is! Within two miles or so from a large mall, has abundant parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Baldursbrá Guesthouse. The walk to Hallgrímskirkja, the waterfront, and Laugavegur is pleasant and short, easy to take in all of the main spots in Reykjavik. Slightly higher priced hotel in Iceland, so with slightly more expectation. Have to go through a small stretch of gravel road to reach the Hotel. We found it using Google Maps GPS. This was the cheapest accommodation we could find (which is still extremely expensive because it's Iceland), but it didn't disappoint in any way. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the common room is stylish and cozy - even the piano there was properly tuned! And the staff was really flexible and helpful when we asked for anything at all.

This is a good 3 star hotel by European standards but not a 4 star hotel as it is rated. It is definitely not value for money compared to European or Icelandic standards.

The owner was very accommodative, but the property frankly needs to be renovated. It’s situated at a prime location in the main Vik town, and with a little expense on renovation, guests can leave with a much better experience. On a separate note, the owner put up a decent breakfast spread, and had a wonderful and cheerful attitude.

This was the best place we stayed at in Iceland! It was a stopover during our self-drive in the south. The guest house is quaint with convenient check-in self check in facilities . We stayed for a night and never met any staff as there was no need really. Room was clean but tiny. Kanskarinn is a charming little mom and pop place. The restaurant is busy with locals for obvious reasons; the food is good and the owners are hands on and friendly. From the outside, the Hotel looks a little tired, but the inside is clean and the recently added rooms are modern and comfortable.

It was hard to recognise the house in the first place as there were no big signs which said this was the house. The owner was very friendly and the apartment was well equipped and comfortable. And Kronan and Bonus were just a few minutes drive away.

I was a female solo traveller with a big big suit case. Friendly staffs are helpful for tours. Got a room with private bath. It was exactly like a hotel. They got everything in the room. There is a canteen with a complete kitchen there, but we did not cook. The location was just by the lake facing the famous mountain. There was aurora on that night and we were in a perfect location to capture photos of us with aurora, water and the mountain altogether. Family home that was repurposed into a guesthouse. We thought this was a very nice homey place, it was clean and comfortable. Owners were both very sweet and nice. Check in was easy and fast. There was breakfast included which was good.

The location is great. The staff is nice and the room is big. There is only one bathroom which is shared among three rooms. We have to wait for quite a long time in the morning.

Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, the staff helpful, and the breakfast appreciated. A suggestion: that the hotel keep a supply of the parking forms now available only at banks and filling stations. Free parking is great, but driving around an unfamiliar city at 10:00 PM in search of a filling station is not.

This was the nicest accommodation we had on our trip. The room was very clean and decor was modern and had a luxurious feel. The staff was very friendly and kind in providing advice for nearby eats. The breakfast provided was plentiful and sumptuous.

A great place to stay if one is travelling clockwise from EGILSSTAÐIR to HÖFN (or vice versa). Great breakfast and easy check in and check out with no issues. Though the toilet is shared, the cleanliness is on point and well maintained for all guests. I had a fantastic stay here.

Not too many choices in this town, but I think Blabjorg is the best, since its outdoor bath and spa pool inside. The photos does not do the cottages justice. It is really clean and bright in the cottage itself. Well equipped with comfortable bed, hot shower, television program and they even have wifi that is running fast and well in the cottage. They even provide BBQ pit and all cooking equipment needed. The receptionist should provide more details regarding the property (e.g. WiFi, kettle, hairdryer, etc.). Room key was handed to us without further info. However, the staff at the breakfast was very friendly and attentive. There is no kettle in the room and insufficient bathroom towel hangers. Nevertheless, great location and great heating system in the room.

They provide hot drinks all day long. Bed was comfortable and room is spacious, however the hot shower was not really working for us.

Lovely little guesthouse with a great hot tub where you can view the stars and the northern lights if your lucky free from light pollution and your room just a few steps away. Great little place. Perfect place surrounded by great restaurants. Breakfast was an extra charge but very homely. The entire hotel has only 10 rooms and everyone is so friendly!

Close to Borgarnes and easy to locate. Tidy rooms and a horse farm close by. Everything was very comfortable and exceeded expectations!

The manager allowed us to check in very late. All you need to do is a call them and tell them you won't be able to check in within the office hours and they will put your key in the keybox. The place was our rest-point between Akureyri and the Westfjords, and we had an excellent night there. The location was great, and faces the ocean. The hotel upgraded my room to a room with a bathroom. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was OK, but the dinner was just ordinary, as the bread was very salty. The hotel environment was quiet.

It was a good, fairly cheap stopover going back to Reykjavik from Akureyri area. Had a bit of trouble paying them in the morning as we had gotten in very late and woke up quite late. They should have left us a note about how to reach them...

This hotel was one of the surprises of our visit. The exterior itself is plain looking, but in every other way, this is a first rate property. The restaurant was exceptional, with many creative dishes on the menu. Service was top notch all round. Many points of interest are within easy driving distance of the hotel.

This is a very spacious cottage with a big living area, large kitchen, huge dinning table, and having a hot tub is great after a long day hike in the rain. The cottage is by the river so it has a fantastic view. I highly recommend it. The only thing was the very young person on duty did not seem to be very happy about helping the guests to checking in.

We stayed here one night, actually moving here from another hotel in the same street just because the price here for that night was very attractive. The room ( for two ) was clean though not as spacious as we experienced in other places due to many furniture in the room ( the room itself is large ). Hotel Laugarhall was the perfect place to sit under the stars in the Hot Pot. The staff were outstanding and the location was beautiful with hiking spots close by.

Þingeyri is a beautiful little town that is SUPER quiet. Not many people live there year round. Hotel Sandafell was a clean place to stay with comfortable beds. We arrived there late. Without road signal we called the hotel. We called right before the midnight - otherwise check-in counter closed in few minutes! We had called and doubled check our direction (As there is no lights, no direction given) and finally we had arrived. A lady was waiting for us and she was nice to pass us the key while everything else would wait till ...

Everything was just as expected - clean rooms, nice breakfast ( continental ), helpful staff and generally the feeling that everything is very organized and professional.

As good as it could be. Family run, friendly, home cooking. Just what we needed at the end of a long day.

Best hotel host to hope for, definately a place i would recommend anyone in the Westfjords. Staff give good recs based on situation (we are stuck in a snowstorm so we were recommended to go to the nearby hot tub/pool instead, and were lent "fleece towels". Location is definately quiet away from the "hustle" in nearby bigger towns, but drive carefully!

We are so hungry but hard to find any restaurant here. By the time we reached the hotel was almost midnight, thank god there was a kettle in the room for coffee purpose, at least we manage to cook instant noodle n soup. Not every hotel in Iceland will provide kettle, you will know how good it is when you are in such cold weather and hungry stomach~~

Beautiful, clean, modern apartment in Isafjordur. Words cannot describe how comfortable the bed was! Our host quickly responded to email inquiries, had the neighbor greet us because she was out running errands (unnecessary but nice), and took the time to tell us about the area and much more. Cool friendly fluffy dogs! Loved it!!!
