Shangri La has already established a name for itself as it is already a common knowledge for everyone that it is a 5-star hotel. The Crimson resort is a real 5 star hotel with excellent staff who cater for your ever need. Firstly this hotel isn't as cheap as most you will find in the Philippines but I am a firm believer of you get what you pay for and that is true with everything here. Every member of staff is friendly and willing to asist you, the food is exceptional and has a wide variety form...

I've stayed in 5 stars hotels in Philippines for my business trips and I must say Movenpick Mactan tops the best in hospitality. You are welcomed and greeted at all times throughout the stay. In comparison to facilities, I hope they could do better and service at the Ibiza Beach Club could be improved. Overall we had a splendid stay!

Okada is one of the best hotel we stayed at. All the staff members are very helpful and kind. They will made you feel like VIP. We request for higher floor room with the fountain view and they made it happen. We were surprise when they upgraded our room to premium suite :) Thank you Okada for giving us a very luxurios stay. We will surely your regular guest everytime w...

This is the best resort I've been in the Philippines so far. Staff picked us up from the airport all the way to the resort with no hassle. The staffs were humble and courteous. They were able to help me on all of my inquiries during my stay. The room is spacious, clean, and bright. You have your own veranda to chill if you prefer. Their front beach is a must VISIT! - e...

As a frequent business traveler to Cebu City for the past 10 years, I would highly recommend the hotel for both the leisure and business traveler. For the most part the hotel staff are very friendly and attentive to the guests needs. The food preparation and taste is above average with the hotel serving a very good breakfast buffet each morning in Cafe Uno. The hotel ...

The best in Angel city Please believe me central tower is excellent you cannot fault it I stayed for three weeks in the Philippines but only book Central for five nights just in case I didn’t like it tried to book could not they was fully booked so I ended up going to the penthouse which is next-door that 2 is a nice hotel but they have carpet in the room which tend ...

One of the best hotel in the world! you only pay 3/4 star but you get a 5 +++ star hotel! the housekeeping clean you room with a team of 5, in 15 minutes is done. You get you bag in the room in the same time after you check in. The room service is 24 h and you able to choose for the full menu. One of the best Restaurants in the Philippine. The best US tenderloin in a...

There are three restaurants in the hotel. 1) China Blue - the best. Everything we ordered was good, not a single thing wrong, 2) C-Lounge - good hotel breakfast buffet but not the best. Slow refill of food, 3) Brasserie Lounge - the worst among the three. Cod fish and wagyu burger were not hot or even warm. Fries were cold and stale. Im not sure if they reused it. Lots...

Fantastic location across the road from creature comforts provided by Resort World. Staff extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and well equipped with gym and pool. Great starting point for travels around the Philippines, hotel was able to effortlessly manage my party of 10 people as we all arrived at different times under one booking. Free ...

We spent 6 days at Henann hotel. Facilities are outstanding with pools on 4 levels. Though it is a large resort, everybody could easily find a space. Service and staff were diligent and so nice. It is a recent hotel so everything is clean and good quality. Bedrooms are large with all luxury equipment. The hotel is located at the city center (do not go there for isolate...

One of the best places to stay in Manila. This hotel has it all, and more. The breakfast selection is beyond compare, and really makes you feel like they went all out to please every possible palate. Only a few minor gripes... But apparently western style bacon is a mystery to this part of the world. Even at the 5 star level their seems to be an amount of mistrust over...

Overall we had a great stay at the Hyatt City of Dreams. There was a minor issue with our room and the Assistant Manager at the Front office: NELYSSA BERNARDO was exceptional at handling our concerns and taking care of the situation. The customer service was well deserving of 5 stars. and we really appreciated all her hard work. The rooms are new, modern and very spa...

We had booked this room somewhat last minute because we wanted a place to stay during our last night in the Philippines after spending about a week on Siargao Island. We figured it was close to the airport (so traffic would be SLIGHTLY better) and it would be nice to "treat ourselves". We had visited the pool a week prior when friends stayed there so we fell in love wi...

When we arrived in Coron Westown Resort, Amado, one of the hotel's supervisor approached me and took me to a table and said he wanted to talk. I could already sense what was about to come-- a looming disaster that could potentially ruin our vacation. True enough, our booking had not reflected on their system and the room that we paid for is already taken. He had offere...

We stayed on and off in this hotel for the last 3 weeks between our trips around the country when we got back to Manila this is the hotel we stayed at. When we had first arrived in the Philippines we had stayed at a different hotel for 2 days which didn't even come close to the standards of the Antel Best Western Hotel. We reserved the 1 bedroom mini suite The r...

it's a long drive from the airport to hotel sheridan, but when you finally get there you'll see that this is the perfect place to do nothing but relax. you're away from traffic and noise. all you hear is the beach. wifi works, but don't expect to do anything fast. it's basic internet access. globe data signal works too, but not 3g. once you're here, you won't wan...

Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Golden Phoenix Hotel. During our month long vacation in the Philippines, we went on several trips outside of Manila but always came back to stay at the Golden Phoenix Hotel for a total of four stays! I think that’s proof enough of how much we liked this hotel. The best part during each stay is the entire hotel staff. ...

At first we booked a place here on October 2016, but sadly our trip was cancelled because of the typhoon that hit the whole Philippines. Therefore we decided to rearrange the trip. July 2017, we finally came to this beautiful and wonderful resort. We are really happy here because the facilities are top-notch, the surroundings are really beautiful and the staffs are v...

I booked a 10th Floor Grand Bayview Corner Suite for one night at Solaire. The staff are highly trained Filipinos who are very polite, accommodating, energetic, sharp and they seem to love their jobs. Excellent Management. The room was very spacious, with two (2) large Flat Screen TVs, Long L-Shaped Leather Sofa, Las Vegas Style Bar, King Size Bed, Digital Safe, Wri...
Cheap places to stay in Philippines

In this review I'd like to give credit to the people who work in this hostel and do their best to offer cheap accommodation to people who can't afford anything else. This is not a place for travelers, unless they are on a really tight budget. The dorms are crowded, there are children crying every now and then and the light will be switched on and off even after midnigh...

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, this is good. But the location is poor. My taxi driver had trouble finding it. There are no decent restaurants nearby. No sidewalk so you have to walk in the street. That's not a problem on a secondary street, but it's a real danger on a major thoroughfare. I booked for two nights and left after the first night. I wi...

The location is near to the iconic calle crisologo. We went here for a group and we are 29 in total and we fit 2 rooms that consist of 12 double-size bunk beds per room. Initially my reservation was cancelled without any notice on the day of our check-in.. But when I replied to their email, they were able to reply around pass 1 in the afternoon. The wifi is slow insid...

i always check in here whenever i visit CDO primarily because of their location. Near the malls, near 7/11 and cheap transportation, sikad! :) i just wish that all the remote controls are functioning well (there was one booking front desk told me i have no remote for tv because there are no available), and also the last time i checked in, the towel was torn. Also, sma...

Dean and Kuya Roger were very nice hosts. The place is clean and is just a few steps away from the beach where you can dive and swim. Also, within a few kilometers is the jump point for Mt Gulugod Baboy to test yourself in hiking. I would definitely go back..

I was really skeptic about getting to 8Hostel. It is because I read so much negative reviews. However, I went ahead and booked the place. I told myself you get what you paid for. But I was wrong. The place is really nice. It is clean,. Daily cleaning service in the dorms. Plus, you can ask a towel or anything that the facility is supposed to provide and they will bring...

Though you will need to walk around 30mins to reach the inn, the location is really exceptional as it sits in the heart of Batad. What we liked the most is how accommodating the owners are and the view of Rice Terraces. Kuya Romy and Ate Ruby are very kind and they even gave us tips on how to commute around Banaue and Sagada. The rate for the room and tour is very affo...

I loved my stay at Fanta Lodge. It is is not the best accomodation you can have but it serves it purpose well. I loved how it is homey that I quite felt homesick by the time we left on to the next hotel we're to stay for one more night. I'd much prefer staying there over the other hotel because it felt closer to home and you get to interact closely with the staff. They...

So the Agoda location is correct but google maps has it wrong. I enjoyed this hostel although I didn't stay long, there is space to sit outside, its fairly close to the main road although along a dirt track and the breakfast was good, 2 eggs with toast and ham. The bunks were ok and there are some single beds as well. This would be my first choice for the city.

Briliant value for money - such a lovely hospitable family. The food was great and varied, the accomodation - in a lovely garden setting- was cool, clean and comfortable and most importantly the owners looked after my each and every need- exceptionally well. They organised my 100 Islands tour - negotiated a very fair deal for the trip and provided lots of great tips, a...

The staff was great. They allowed us to use the shower room of the room we booked since we just came from the island tour and we are already past our check out time. They have a hot and cold shower which is great. They have a complimentary breakfast which will keep you going for the upcoming tours. A ride away from the beach front for the tours. Hoping to come back aga...

we stayed for 2 nights and 2 days... this is just a suggestion especially for a group of people who is going to stay in the hotel. having an active outlet should be available. 1 socket available for 6 people in one room is not enough as we need to charge our phone and all. I cant understand the point of view of having a wifi access only in the ground floor. Why peopl...

This is a new establishment in Puerto Princesa - the owner Lara and her family helped me with every question that I had, and helped me with renting a motorbike as well. You really feel like a part of the family when you are staying at this place, this is by far the best place I have stayed in while I have been in the Philippines, mainly because of the people surroundin...

Had a private room which was basic, but clean. Air con was great. Bathroom was the typical tiny style you get in the Philippines. Only issue was that shower leaked in that room so the floor was pretty wet most of the time. The place is still being renovated/built up though so i can imagine it will only get better. You can easily get a tricycle to the city centre for 40...

The owner is really nice and friendly. Location is nearby bars and restaurant (5-10 min walk). it's a capsule hôtel so everything is tiny but for a stop it's ok. You have your privacy, it's quiet, clean and safe. You can lock the door of the capsule if you worried about your belongings but not enough space to sleep with. Cold shower like almost every hostel in Philipp...

Awesome location (must be willing/able to trek in)! Fantastic views of the Batad rice terraces. Super friendly staff and guides to learn about and trek/ tour the area. Food was very good and very reasonably priced! Hot water was a little spotty / sketchy but showering after a day of trekking is all we needed. The massage ladies did a great job on our sore muscles. All ...

I think it was good enough for a 2 star place. I stayed for 1 night, female bedspace. They gave me a pillow. No blanket. I'm glad I brought my shawl as the temperature can be cold at night with the aircon. No toiletries so I brought my own. If you want privacy, you can hang your blanket on the bed posts as what other bedspacers do. I especially booked this place for t...

The place is amazing. Its a nice location in the mountains next to the Casaroro Waterfalls. The cottages are in the middle of a garden and you fall asleep to the sounds of insects and frogs, which isn't bad at all even though it seems like it would be. There's no air conditioning because its already cold up in the mountains of Valencia. Obviously there is no Wifi o...

I strongly recommend this hotel if you stay in Siquijor for 2 reasons: 1- The location: it is about 15 minutes by working from Siquijor Port. So from there it is very easy to travel around others island if you stay long in Philippines. You have an hospital just behind the hotel and market just near by the port. In fact everyone on the Island knows about Das Traum Gues...

Unlike many hotels in Philippines this one is like what you would get in the west. Clean large rooms where things all work, great service and done western style. A good location for the airport, which is why I choose it, but there is not a lot close by outside of the hotel. Good for 1 night. Not the cheapest in the area bur you only get what you pay for.

i first found this place 2007. I have stayed at the Motel 6 times in 3 years. Out of all the resort hotels i have stayed at in the Philippines, this one is the best. All motels in the Philippines are not equal to the US hotels as far a the rooms go on the star scale. After all the Philippines is still a 3rd world country. But the little hotel could give all the rest le...

Bluewater Beach Resort is an outstanding place to spend a few days outside the chaos of the city. It's peaceful and the staff will make sure you have nothing to be worried of. The surroundings and buildings (2 floors maximum) are convenient and will give you a cozy feeling. Unlike some neigbouring resorts with huge buildings. The place is not too big, so I assume a g...

This is my second time to visit the Philippines. The first time I stayed at the IntercContinental hotel in Makati. The rooms were nice, but the building is old and the carpet needed replacing. I happenned to come across The Best Western and liked the pictures and the price. The rooms were very modern and the hardwood floors were much cleaner that the carpet at th...

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. The decor and amenities are rarely matched by american hotels that cost double the price. We had the Panorama Suite and the view was breathe-taking. The staff was fast, friendly, and eager to assist with any request. We were able to walk to the hotel from the port dock and the town was a short tricycle rid...

My first time in Philippines and i was so glad i choose this hotel. Because it is new, the cleanliness was the best, the hotel was located in just the best spot of the entire street, the room layout was fantastic, toilet was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The front office staff, bell boys were extremely professional and friendly. Everything was perfect...

a charming boutique hotel, nice clean rooms, staff friendly and helpful. Nice pool at the roof of the hotel with a good view. Best for travelers who want a nice hotel for a few days to plan outlying trips to the rest of the Philippines or getting ready to go back home. Too far from the nightlife or business district if this is reason for your trip. I always stay here ...

Everything was put together so well and it was so organized. The staff I would give a million stars to. They were always happy and helpful. The food, drinks, vibe was just perfect. We took advantage of all the activities they had to offer and each was just as good as the one before. Best massage of my life was here. We can’t wait to go back again. If I had to give any ...

I stayed with my wheelchair bound mom and dad and my wife. Check in: I made a big mistake i by mistake had the booking in wrong date and arrived a day early. the lady simply said, "Don't worry, we will take care of it". So helpful..... The rooms were not the best for price. But then again it i felt you will not really stay in that room if you are in that resort. So ...

Rooms and bathroom clean, good shower, nice size rooms, buffet food downstairs is really good, The steak house upstairs not so good, they don't know the difference between savory food and dessert. A lot of restaurants in the Philippines has the same problem, they think sugar is a secret ingredient that makes everything taste better, not realizing it destroys the ...

Hotel staff from the security personnel, house keeping, concierge and reception, they were all warm and accommodating. we checked in to an executive suite and we can't help but to compare this to other casino hotels who charge double. at Winford you get enjoy high end rooms and 5-star service for an affordable price. my daughter loved it and my husband wants to go back...

close to perfect hotel with phenomenal service. The staff an service made my stay incredible. The hotel is a little pricey for when compared to other hotels in Philippines however for what you get and for the service offered it is well worth it. from the onsite dive shop to the organised day trips and onsite pools and restaurants. Definitely recommended.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Montebello Villa Hotel. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The service was some of the best I have received here in the Philippines. The food was good, and the complimentry breakfast buffet was excellent. The rooms are clean and spaciest. I also enjoyed the pool with its pool side tables. The garden is also excellent. They have a fis...

we had an awesome experience during our overnight stay at this hotel.. hotel staff were approachable and polite.. our (family) room was spacious/conducive, well designed and has complete facilities..buffet breakfast was excellent.. but the best part is the uncovered/open pool on top of the hotel bldg.. we truly enjoyed our night swimming underneath the sky full of sta...

Luxurious hotel at a snip! Staff are friendly and helpful, even asking if I wanted a newspaper as I took my breakfast. the rooms are great and an impressive reception and nice pool. Although it overlooks the straight and is a man-made beach, the pool more than compensates. Breakfast was great, but the outdoor, but covered evening dining is a very average experience. T...

I booked thru Agoda with no hassle. However, it said that payment is to be made in the hotel. When I checked in, front desk informed me that my card was already charged. They gave me a receipt as to be expected though. Our room was on the 9th floor, consistent with my online request for a higher floor accommodation. We encountered no problems with our room contrar...

The ambience is wonderdul and the quality of the suites also. We were not impressed with the check in procedure. Arrived around 11am after a long drive since 5am from Manila. Was told we cant check in early. Came back at 2.30pm and the room was still not available. Went absolutely ballistic and then they magically had a room available. Left the room next morni...

My daughter and I wanted to visit the Ocean Adventure and Zoobic Park so we checked in at this resort. The staff were prompt and courteous towards us. Ocean Adventure is just a few minutes from this resort. Zoobic Park is a 15 minute drive away you have to arrange your own taxi and quite expensive. We spent 1200php both ways to and fro. Beds are very comfortable. T...

We stayed on the 6th floor which has the best sunset view and pool view (though we can't see the fireworks from MOA). The two double beds were big enough for one adult and one kid each bed. This fusion is evident in the local cuisine, traditions, and celebrations. Unveiling the Best Time to Experience the Philippines
The Philippines enjoys a tropical climate, characterized by three main seasons: the dry season, the wet season, and the cool season. The dry season, which typically runs from November to April, is considered the best time to visit. During these months, travelers can expect sunny days and minimal rainfall, making it perfect for beach activities and outdoor adventures. Peak tourist season generally occurs from December to February, coinciding with the holiday festivities and cooler weather, so booking hotels in the Philippines during this time is highly recommended to secure the best accommodations.
The wet season, spanning from June to October, brings heavier rainfall and occasional typhoons. While this season may deter some travelers, it can also offer a unique experience, with fewer crowds and lush landscapes. If you're looking to explore the vibrant local festivals, consider visiting during the cool season, particularly in January, when many regions celebrate their annual fiestas with colorful parades and traditional performances. Just remember to check the local calendar for specific dates and events to make the most of your visit.
Ultimately, the best time to experience the Philippines depends on your preferences and travel goals. Whether you seek sun-soaked beaches, cultural festivals, or an adventure in nature, planning your trip around the local climate and events will enhance your experience in this beautiful archipelago.
Essential Travel Tips for a Smooth Journey
Traveling to the Philippines can be an exciting adventure, but being prepared is key to ensuring a smooth journey. Start with understanding local customs and etiquette. Filipinos are known for their hospitality, and a friendly smile or a simple *salamat* (thank you) can go a long way. When visiting religious sites, it's important to dress modestly and respect local traditions. Familiarizing yourself with common phrases in *Filipino* can also enhance your interactions with locals and enrich your experience.
Another essential tip is managing your currency exchange. The Philippine peso is the local currency, and it's advisable to exchange some money before arriving. ATMs are widely available in urban areas, but it's wise to carry cash, especially when exploring remote locations or local markets. Additionally, be mindful of your health precautions; staying hydrated and using sunscreen is crucial in the tropical climate. It's also recommended to consult with a healthcare professional regarding any necessary vaccinations before your trip.
