very nice location good and clean rooms excellent facilities and very friendly staff. and the best of all was Sifa Pangani she is the guest relation officer of the resort she helped us a lot in all our requirement where to go and to do and what not...and also Rose Jhon the lovely and friendly waitress of the restaurant who always had my table reserved and my ash tray....

The Residence is a beautiful property in a pristine location! We were spoilt rotten, and treated like royalty. We had been in South Africa for a week, a safari for a week in Tanzania and then the last 6-days was spent at the The Residence - and oh wow! What a way to finish... Cocktails, special candle light dinners, massages and more... we can never say thank you enoug...

Our stay was perfect. Clean and friendly staff (specially stanislaus from the front desk was really helpful). The hotel confitions are excellent and the rooms very clean. The only problem was that we arrenged a transfer from the airport but it did not appear so we had to take a taxi (anybody in the hotel gave us any solution after that). Also, the prices of the restaur...

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in stone town this is the place!! Great hospitality and stuff!! Early check in or late check out they were so helpful. The best taxi driver stands right in front of the hotel and his name is Mr. China and he gives us the best deal.

Note that the impressive skyscraper that is portrayed for this hotel is not belong for the hotel only. The hotel itself occupies only few floors on the top and therefore actually quite small. Nevertheless, that is good hotel fairly similar to any European hotel of the same star rank. Breakfast was excellent. The only drawback is mediocre bar where alcohol is banned, ev...

Pros: -location was gorgeous, the beach was stunning. -rooms were beautiful and well furnished -all inclusive meant alcohol was also included which was a huge plus as this can really add up. - staff were awesome and made the stay really enjoyable. - spa is not included but is worth trying out. Cons - food was mediocre throughout our stay. - the “exclusive” restau...

Just returned on 1st September 2018. Had very relaxed break for 10 days. Very quiet holiday and feel so relaxed. Great venue with unspoilt surroundings. Access from airport 1hr To main town and shopping 1hr. No local shops. No local Restaurants Great place to relax, very quite. Provides excursions for those choosing to explore or for diving. Food was very good qualit...

Rooms: My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. We initially got the ground floor room which was already good but we got upgraded to the seaview room Siti Bint Saad- one of the best rooms in the hotel! And it was amazing! Bigger than our room, with balcony overlooking the turquoise waters.. Breakfast- we love that there are always new dishes, especially the savory ones....

Dream of Zanzibar is a beautiful resort. The resort is very well laid out with a range of accomodation options to suit the travellers requirements. Rooms are clean, tidy and cosy. The staff are incredibly helpful, very professional and very friendly. Wi-Fi is very reliable. Although you may need to reconnect every 24hrs. DOZ is set against a backdrop of beautiful wh...

I really don't know where to start, I had such a great time at Azanzi Beach Hotel that I still sort of have a hangover from my experience in the resort, even if almost two weeks has passed since. The Management and Staff are nothing short of excellent, that i am just very grateful they provided me with 3 days of a great time. During check-in, Manon gave me one of the w...

We arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning, but were warmly and efficiently greeted. The room was very comfortable with good space to hang your clothes.there was a fridge, tea making facilities and bottled water every day. The shower was roomy and worked well. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel was well situated for the sights of Stone Town....

We had the best stay at this hotel, it was very clean and very secluded. We even made the booking too quickly online before arriving, so it hadn't reached them and they still very quickly and happily accommodated us. We had the best time in the bar and the breakfast room is so beautiful on a mezzanine floor with huge open windows looking out into the greenery and flowe...

This hotel was wonderful. I spent three days in total here, one in a double balcony room and two in the suite (free upgrade who hoo!). This hotel was clean, the rooms were lovely with very comfortable beds and working A/C. Honestly the best part was having a shower with great water pressure....I would stay here again for the shower alone! The staff were very friend...

Stayed for one day. The hotel is in a convenient location close to the Zanzibar Ferry. Also the rooms are clean and very well equipped, WiFi was the best i had in Tanzania. The pool could not be used during my stay, since the cleaning took a whole day. Gym and restaurant were fine. When i checked out, staff seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with the payment process. Als...

The hotel it’s self it’s beautiful, the food is delicious cleanliness need to improve, and hotel needs to add few staff like more coffe, milk, teas option in the room ,cleaness need to be improved and air freshener, fridge smells so bad we couldn’t used it , Also the pillows were so stiff no mattress protector or pillow protector it was hard for me to sleep until I used...

Villa Fleur De Lys is an awesome place to relax and gives you amazing views of the ocean. The staff has been very welcoming and friendly. It started with Zoe after the booking, she is quick to respond and even arranged a last minute ferry pick-up for us. Abdullah, our transport, waited patiently in the terminal - very professional and car is clean and well maintained...

The hotel was very nice and the food was lovely (especially on local night). But the best thing about this hotel was the staff. They were so lovely, helpful and kind all the times! You can also book trips there. The hotel is right at the beach and the view is outstanding!

We booked the hotel for 7 nights and unfortunately checked out after 3. The good things: the staff! Everyone is very helpful and always welcoming, especially Theresa, the reservations manager who was very helpful and understanding of our issues. The beach is very relaxing. The room is well-cleaned. However, I would say it is not a 4-star hotel and the cost doesn't mat...

Best Western Coral Beach is nestled inconspicuously right beside the Yatch Club. The view out of the sea-fronting were breath taking and meant to be enjoyed from the balcony. The solid timber flooring and open bathroom are a unique hotel experience. The staff are friendly - always asking is everything is OK, and if I needed anything.

The description and photos of this resort are so under stated and do not reflect its true beauty and excellence !! The staff are exceptional and are the heart and sole of Ocean Blue. They are friendly, eager to please and go out of their way to make your stay extraordinary! The location in my opinion is the best in Paje - away from the hustle and bustle but a close wal...

Perfect location for a kitesurfing holiday, great beach, great atmosphere thx to the Kite Paradise School next door. Spacious rooms (but minimal decor), lovely beach staff (Shaibu you are the best!), very good massages at the Spa, nice big pool and efficient administration staff. I would not recommend this hotel for families as the beach would be unsafe for children d...

Can't fault except on one major goof up and no remedial action! My booking ws done by Agoda.com and paid as such to Agoda. The hotel staff charged my credit card $ 220 for the stay without my knowledge. Once I found out their mistake, told them to correct and reverse charge by crediting same amount to my card. They said sorry it will take 4 to 5 days, some banking excu...

I would recommend Zanzibar Beach Resort as a business and leasure destination. It is a beautiful location and conveniently close to the airport and to Stone Town (a must visit). The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would like to commend the Resort Manager, Chief-chef, waitress and waitresses as well and specifically Mr Sinyal at Reception, for all your ...
Cheap places to stay in Tanzania

We just stayed here one night before we took off on Safari. It was a nice, large hotel and the rooms were nice with comfortable beds and shower/bathroom attached. Dinner was very good and filling. Location was ok if you are getting picked up by any of the safari companies, otherwise its not really close to much walking wise. Would recommend.

Very nice and laid back chilled place, I was made to feel at home as soon as I got there, walked in right as it was bbq night. The staff are very helpful and kept the beer flowing. Very close to the beach and all the other bars restaurants. Would gladly recommend to my friends and anybody else

Very nice and clean rooms/bathrooms. Staff is great and so is the location. Having a breakfast facing the ocean is a very good way to start the day. If you’re a light sleeper, the dorm room can be noisy in the morning as people live next door and start making noise early in the morning. Also I thought the food was a bit pricey. But overall very nice stay.

I stopped over in Dar Es Salaam for 2 nights on my way to Moshi. Q-Bar is quite a distance from the airport but it is in a nice area of Dar, where all of the embassies are located. The staff was really helpful on where things in the city were and cheap modes of transportation. The rooms were air conditioned and the guesthouse was located near cheap local restaurants fo...

Authentic guest house on the heart of Stone Town. If you wanna feel you are in Tanzania, is a good option. Is not a 5 stars hotel, but is a 5 stars really nice experience of a Zanzibar’s life. If you travell to feel like home, that’s the place! Thanks and we will come again!

This Value for money accommodation is well located 100m from the sea, not directly at the beach, second line. Hospitality of owner is enormous... She's from Europe, so she is very helpful to all tourists, you can learn from her about locals, offers cheap water and basic kitchen. Expect small family style house, max 6-8 people in property.

This place is everything. I must say i started missing it the moment i left. Staff is very friendly, swimming pool is great and gorgeous beach just across the street. Facilities are shared but cleaner than most accomodations that i stayed. Guys at the bar ar the best, especially Saidi the cocktail master :* If i’m coming back, i’m definitely staying again in Demani!

As a returning customer I've been again very pleased by the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. I just complete my previous booking. The room: all the items in the room (bed, shower, etc) are near new or very recent and clean. The breakfast: I've received a breakfast every day (coffee or tea, chapati, sugar, blue band). The security: I've travelled with some va...

Had a wonderful stay in a place with much history and a beautiful garden. Very lovely owner couple. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Budget room good value with warm water. A bit of a mouldy smell when we stepped in at first, but nothing an opened door for a while couldnt solve. Good bed, plenty breakfast options and delicious. Dinner optional. Easy to walk to...

the place is nice and david is a nice and helpfull guy. its a bit of a walk from the town or any thing else but the sourroundings are green and relaxing when the generator is not going. we were on a tight budget and let david know this before he picked us up from mombo bus stop. he didnt mention that the pick up fee would be 50 dollers untill checkout and neclected to ...

We had nothing short of a great experience at Shimbwe Meadows. Victor is a down to earth, thaughtful guy whom is always positive and will do hes damntest to help you out and make your stay pleasant. -The Homestay: is not a luxury spot but there seems to be just what you need to get bye. -The Food: Is made by Alex who we both thaught might have more than just a nack fo...

This was my second stay after a week in the bush on a camel safari. Suffice it to say I was welcomed back as family by the fine staff at Korona and treated like royalty. Fed well, and felt like a queen. Given the same great big room, lots and lots and lots of excellent food, and room to stretch out, wash my filthy clothing and get the spiders out of my hair. I love thi...

This place has beautiful scenery, staff were extremely helpful to ensure we had a great relaxing experience and very friendly! This place is for people who like to chill out and just enjoy the island life! You can go snorkeling, swimming with dolphins or just chill out at the hotel property... at night they have a campfire that you can sit around under the amazing star...

It was a great stay! Relax, comfort, friendliness, absolute safety - these are the words defining the stay in this cozy and very quiet place. Hotel is on the very north of Mafia island in a big Utende village. The staff is very polite and they are not looking for any tips. The boss is a lady from England and she make it all operating in a proper way. Diving centre has...

Pros: Nice staff, good free breakfast (even though the bread was a little bit mouldy two out of five mornings), felt safe, the room was cleaned halfway through the stay, the bed was comfortable, very close to the beach and the turtle aquarium. One night I saw the owner walking a girl to the beach because she was scared to walk alone in the dark so that was nice! Cons:...

Stayed here for just one night after traveling on a bus for 11 hours from Moshi. We were heading to Zanzibar the next day, and just needed a place to crash for the evening. It offered a great location at a decent price. Free fast wifi, cold A/C, hot shower, free breakfast, and a friendly staff (that helped organize our transfer to the ferry terminal - which is about ...

I absolutely love and recommend this place! Albert and Britta (owner of this place) are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are cosy and tidy. The bungalows are not far from the beach, 6 minutes away from the beach. The restaurant is really good and cheap as well. Thank u for everything! :)

The place you see on the photo is not the same place i do have pictures but cant get then on here.the bed were awful dirty wooden boxes holding the botton of the bed up No shower but the was a bucket we had to ask for water to beput in it so we could wash the dirt off us from been in the rooms no handle on the inside of room was looked in in till morning got bit to de...

I found this place very near to all services and in the hub of city capital Stone Town. Great reception and stay with true Zanzibari hospitality at...

we stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our trip & then at the end of our trip. The first time around we were upgraded & the room was very spacious. the breakfast was great. Very friendly staff - room, pool, garden cleaned up several times a day. Good breakfast buffet with superbe view on sea. I stayed there with my dad for two nights which had given me a inerasable memory. Nice staffs, clean room, amazing view and swimming pool. They serve high quality food with comparatively low price too. Dont forget to try seafood grill (35 pp but you will get more than you expect)

Lovely, brand new Hotel. Owners and staff were very friendly and provided plenty of information about Zanzibar. The food was very good! There is nothing bad to be said about this hotel! But you have to be aware that there is nothing much around! Still you can do trips an stuff from there.

I absolutely loved the property. In fact my partner & I agreed it was possibly the most beautiful hotel we'd ever been to. I've been to over 50 countries, and i can absolutely say, this property is spectacular. The villa, the private pool, the view, its all simply sensational! Moving onto the bar & restaurant. The bar made very nice Caipirinas, a tad expensive, but tas...

We spent two nights as part of our honeymoon at Kisiwa House. The hotel itself is a hidden gem - it's not obvious from outside but it is a lovely, impressive building from the inside...a former colonial house that was converted and renovated and just exudes a cool vibe. The room was nicely decorated and appointed, with a HUGE bathroom. Stone Town itself is very small a...

The food wasn’t the best( bread was stale and just seemed to be by the way) service in restaurant was really slow. WiFi was also not working in room. They hotel room was nice and the location wasn’t all bad. The hotel arreanged the hotel car for airport transfer but I felt the taxi waiting outside was safer and more reliable. Not good and reliable car drove us.

this is really a lovely resort, with two restaurants, friendly staff (although they are partly friendly because they want your tips...) and nice rooms. Our room (E33) was new and very modern. I traveled with my family and a family friends of ours which made in total of 4 adults and 3 kids raging from 8 to 10 years old and we stayed there for 10 days. The hotel has a show every night promoting local artists and the shows are actually really good. It has a...

I spent many weeks researching lodges and camps Believe me, this is the best you can do if you want to see the best of Tanzania in January Magnificent accommodations, staff, food and locale Less than 1 mile to Crater Park and only 2 hours from Serengeti Gate Best place we have ever stayed and we have literally traveled the world Totally 5 stars all around Kevin and A...

The Kibo Palace is everything that you would need for a business trip - good location close to the clocktower and the high-end restaurants, an in-house restaurant with good food, a comfortable bed, and high-speed internet. What it lacks for those who want to experience Tanzania, is character. It is a cookie-cutter hotel tailored to the global standard, which removes an...

The resort is located on one of the most beautiful spot of Zanzibar, on the east coast coral reef the all-inclusive formula is very good value for the money: all is really included, food, sports, and animation staff number is very important and they are well trained and friendly

Overall we really enjoyed Bluebay Beach Resport and Spa. The staff are fantastic. A particular thank you to Joyce who went out of her way to make our stay special. The pool, jacuzzi and spa area do however ...

I had a very enjoyable time at the Gold Zanzibar - so much so I extended my stay for another 6 days. My stayed was during March 2014 - I booked a Deluxe Garden View room (Half Board) The room size was more than enough for 1 person - with it's own luggage area and bathroom complete with shower and bath (and bidet if you require!). The room was clean - bed fitted with m...

The charming thatched-roof resort was in a great location on a beautiful reef. First class service, food sublime, camp hosts attentive and welcoming, quality of accommodation superb ... and that's before you get out to see the game! Elia the guide was top notch - extremely knowledgeable with his game, friendly, hard working and really made one feel that nothing was too much trouble - a treasure to spend a day on safari with.

I have been to many hotels around the world , Konokono has special essence , it's built inside the jungle and on a very nice and private beach where you can enjoy the white sand and the beach without being annoyed by anyone who wants to sell you something . My wife and I spent a month touring various countries in East Africa including safaris and gorilla treking. We planned to relax and unwind at this resort before returning home to Canada. More about Tanzania
Discover the Wonders of Tanzania
Tanzania is a land of breathtaking beauty and remarkable diversity, where stunning landscapes stretch from sun-kissed beaches to majestic mountains. Picture yourself standing in awe at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, or exploring the vast savannas of the Serengeti National Park, home to the iconic Big Five. The country's unique geography offers a plethora of experiences, from the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean to the lush greenery of its national parks. Each region boasts its own charm, making Tanzania a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Wildlife enthusiasts will find Tanzania to be a haven, with its rich biodiversity and well-preserved habitats. The Great Migration, a spectacular natural event where millions of wildebeest and zebras traverse the Serengeti, is a sight that should not be missed. Additionally, the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, provides an unparalleled opportunity to witness a plethora of wildlife in one location. As you explore, you'll encounter a variety of animals, including elephants, lions, and rhinos, all thriving in their natural environment.
The cultural tapestry of Tanzania is equally captivating. With over 120 ethnic groups, the country is a vibrant mosaic of traditions and customs. Visitors can immerse themselves in local cultures, from the colorful Maasai tribes to the Swahili heritage of coastal towns. Festivals, music, and dance are integral parts of life here, offering travelers a chance to engage with the warm and welcoming people of Tanzania. Whether it's savoring local cuisine or participating in traditional ceremonies, the cultural experiences in Tanzania are bound to leave a lasting impression.
Unforgettable Reasons to Explore Tanzania
Tanzania is a treasure trove of experiences waiting to be discovered. One of the top reasons to visit is its stunning national parks, which are among the best in the world. Serengeti National Park is renowned for its incredible wildlife and the annual migration, while Tarangire National Park is famous for its large elephant herds and unique baobab trees. Each park provides a distinct experience, showcasing the country's natural beauty and biodiversity.
For those seeking relaxation, Tanzania's beaches are simply breathtaking. The white sandy shores of Zanzibar are perfect for unwinding after an adventurous safari. Explore the vibrant coral reefs while snorkeling or diving, or simply bask in the sun with a refreshing drink in hand. The island's rich history and spice trade add an extra layer of intrigue, making it a delightful destination for travelers.
Cultural richness is another compelling reason to explore Tanzania. The country is home to numerous historical sites, such as the ancient ruins of Stone Town and the House of Wonders, which reflect the diverse influences that have shaped its heritage. Engaging with local communities and participating in cultural activities can provide deeper insights into the traditions and lifestyles of Tanzanian people. From art markets to traditional music performances, there's always something to experience that showcases the vibrant culture of this remarkable country.
Timing Your Trip to Tanzania for Maximum Enjoyment
Planning your visit to Tanzania can significantly enhance your travel experience. The best time to explore the country largely depends on what you hope to see and do. Generally, the dry season from June to October is ideal for wildlife viewing, as animals congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot. This period also coincides with the Great Migration in the Serengeti, offering a spectacular opportunity to witness this natural phenomenon.
If you're interested in experiencing the lush landscapes and vibrant flora, consider visiting during the short rains in November and December or the long rains from March to May. While wildlife may be harder to spot during these months, the scenery is breathtaking, and the parks are less crowded, allowing for a more intimate connection with nature. Plus, you might catch glimpses of newborn animals, adding to the charm of your visit.
