absolutely superb stay. best value for money”
We came to Couran Cove as a weekend overnight getaway for our first anniversary. For a start, the ferry ride over was beautiful and informative. Upon arriving we were greated by friendly and extremely competent staff. Checking in and out was super easy. Our room was amazing, simple but amazing and the extra large king size bed I requested was just as I expected. The view from the room was breath taking to say the least. Waterfront rooms no matter where in the resort you stay. There are heaps of activities to do on Stradbroke island which are a short bike ride away (available for hire). Dinner was devine. Fine dinning at its best and they even wished us a happy anniversary on arrival on Saturday night. Wait staff were smartly dressed and absolutely brilliant. Air conditioning in the rooms made a warm nights sleep a breeze and waking up to the view in the morning was a dream come true. Breakfast was great and included in our package. Facilities are impeccable. The pool is beautifully heated and well maintained and has a killer view. The kids pool is just as good. I was overly impressed with our stay although I do wish all the attractions of Couran Coves past were up and operational but all good things come in time. We couldn't have asked for a better stay on the Gold Coast. Thank you
Great for the weekend. Awesome private party on sunset beach. But this wasn't anything to do with staying at Couran Cove but was the highlight of the weekend. Not a great deal to do on the island really. Unless you are a sporty kind of person or have kids. A couple of days is really long enough. The food is quite expensive as is the alcohol. You cannot bring your own alcohol so you would think they could sell this at a more reasonable rate. I prefer to have a few drinks in my room than go out to purchase drinks. Breakfast buffet was not worth the money. Variety was very poor and the hot selections were luke warm.
Amazing getaway with lots to do”
Loved Couran Cove! Very happy with our 1 bedroom! Great views & very spacious room. Loved the amount of free activities that were available and can see how great it would be for families. Staff were great and very helpful. Buffet brekky was well worth the money & loved the fact that you could spend all day there before checkin/checkout
Overall stay was above average but I wouldn't rate 4 star. Some of the staff were fantastic, others were horrible. We arrived on a Thurs and found the food reasonably priced until Good Friday came. Not only were the prices increased overnight but there was also an extra 15% surcharge. Our room was lovely and had a magnificent view, however the bed was very firm, rather uncomfortable and our air conditioning unit failed to work. The Island itself is beautiful and the facilities were great. I enjoyed my stay but would not be visiting again. In my opinion Ramada Couran Cove is not quite the romantic getaway one would expect, but more for family holidays.
Great few days of island life”
We had a great time at Couran Cove. Beautiful location, clean and casual lifestyle. Room was as expected, very nice and comfortable for the 3 of us. Would come back.
So much potential ”
Couran Cove is such a beautiful location. The room was quite spacious, but the bathroom was a little dated. The resort itself is one that once was, and could be again, magnificent. The pool area was great and the food at the restaurant was really good. The service was hit and miss, but the people were generally very friendly. Overall, I think it’s a great place to stay, the beach is magical, but the resort itself could be so much better!
More than good.”
It was a gift from nature. All of the spots are amazing in the island. Being honest the resort room was pretty standard but all of the options to do in the island will make you satisfy. This resort provide lots of activities with free of charge. All most of staffs were very kind and nice. Everything was great. Still miss the days. :) However I fell really strange when a girl were staring at me very aggresively. I assume her is f&b staff. And although I put requests for few things no feedback came when I get there. Mentioned birthday as well no reactions at all. Disappointed....... This resort doesn't read your request from online so when you need something you need to tell them directly. 8 out of 10
Jonathon made our stay ”
Been to Couran about 4 times this was by far our best stay ever! We had 6 adults for 2 nights in 2 x 1BR studios Jonathon (owner) came over and said they’ve had a cancellation on one their 4 bedroom villas and asked if wanted to look at it and do swap if it was something we wanted to do We looked and said yes please!! we had my sisters 30th birthday in the villa Where a group of 10 of us gathered there for the best night Thanks for your kindness and help Jonathon, we have some good memories made even better. Restaurant meal spot on had the seafood platter for 2 best we’ve had and I’ve had seafood all around Australia Can’t wait to come back
Great for tweens”
We took our daughter and her friends to Couran Cover to celebrate her 12th birthday - it was perfect for them with the beach and the inflatables and pool and other activities and its safe with no traffic so they were able to enjoy a certain amount of freedom and feel grown up. The sunset beach bar also deserves a big shout out - GORGEOUS LOTION and sunset and really felt like another world with the fire pit and excellent DJ with fab tunes and all friendly people with families enjoying a relaxing drink in a beach party setting.
Great value for money”
Overall we had a lovely stay over the weekend. We celebrated our 2nd anniversary and had a wonderfullu relaxing stay. I would recommend dining at the restaurant, the breakfast both days was delicious, we had coffees and cakes at the boardwalk cafe which again were delicious and a roast dinner one night at the poolside cafe, which was ok and a couran pizza there one lunchtime too.... that was pretty tasty. Boat ride was good, they allowed us to checkin early, so that was great! I had a few differing answers from staff regarding a few simple questions, like what time the ferry departed and how I obtain my free brekky or where i catch the train cart from.... little things but felt a bit lost some of the time. Our room had a nice view of the marina, the bed was odd, had 2 single mattresses joined together rather than a king mattress. But overall it was a pretty good room with a decent sized flat screen tv, fridge and cooktop and a nice big bathroom. Pools were nice but too cold to swim in during may. Some people were swimming, but too cold for me. I'd recommend staying here for a weekend away with friends or family, we felt really relaxed after our stay. I think I'll come back again with the family next time since there were a few activities for kids and felt really safe and secure.
When I arrived, I was immediately given my room. However, upon entering the room I found it had not been cleaned. When alerted to this, the staff were very friendly and offered me a free drink in the cafe. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Downside is the dining on the island. The only place open was on spa island, and it was not cheap. The general store was also closed and we had not prepared for this so the stay was more expensive than we would have hoped. The island is currently being renovated and is a nice relaxing break. When it is fully renovated, I'm sure it will be amazing and I will definitely be back.
A Beautiful Place to spend a few days”
The room was very clean - a bit of a walk from reception (maybe 500m) but was worth it for the view. The main restaurant was not opened but the cafe was open for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was available from the reception area. There are great bush walks including through to the beach around 3Km away. The only issue is that because of a recent departure of the former manager the few remaining staff were overworked and some things were not opened. There are tennis courts a squash court, basketball hoops and water activities including blow up slides etc. If you are happy with doing your own thing you will enjoy your time there on the Island.
What a great hide away, so close to the coast. Highly recommend! So much to do & so friendly.”
Love the food/pub & free activities. Love the Wilderness & the amazing dune restaurant! Just needs a little tlc in the kids play area & around the island! Highly recommend!
We checked into unit R2702 on 26/12/2018 for two nights. When we tried to switch on the TV in the room as intructed in the information next to the controller but the screen could not switch to tv channels. Wifi was also not available. The general information sheets given to us state that free wif is available to all letting pool rooms throughout the resort. Is our unit a "pool room"? When I inquired at the reception counter I was told that the TV and wifi were not working at our unit. There is a notice above the kitchen sink instructing guests to clear all rubbish on check out or a $50 surcharge would be added to our bill. We managed to dispose the rubbish in the wheely bins by the roadside opposite the units although they were full and overflowing. We suggests more information should be made available in the booking site. Thanks for your attention.
Would I stay again at couran cove resort again”
Pool restaurant staff was fantastic, the island women who served us was so helpful and her customer service was the best, Our appartment had a few issues, but was resolved pretty quick once we could get to speak with someone, The resort has everything you need for a great time with your family, pool was lovely and warm. Cost of food was high, if you want cake and coffee at the main reception bar, be ready to wait a while and don't expect it to be hot or fresh, staff in this part seemed completely lost to know what to or how to make and serve customers, I think lessons from the women at the pool side cafe needs to teach them. I would always tell people to go to this resort it is much better then a lot I have been to, maybe clear some cobwebs from chairs and tables near the kids playground. Sitting down on anything outside was a worry due to the cobwebs. Plus I think as the resort was spending so much time getting it ready for a big pool party that was going to happen , a lot of work man setting up over pools etc, was a worry with the kids, and I belevie we would have got a better service from staff if this had not been going on. Over all this is a fab place to take family, I hope it stays that way, and some items are cleaned.
Great active family place”
Great for families, we have two boys who loved the bikes and the stand up paddle boards. The activites gentleman was awesome and the virtual room was great fun. The only two points that were annoying are you pay a $200 security bond on arrival then have to pay another $100 bond for bikes, so that's $300 of your money tied up in bonds, I would think considering you paid the $200 on arrival there should be no extra bike bond as a resort guest and not through a private operator. Then the note telling you to wash your dishes and remove your garbage or get charged as extra $50 is pretty bad when you are paying to stay.
Value for money”
Had a great time at the resort.
I was very disappointed with Couran Cove. There seems to be no passion for the place from the staff or the owners. Most facilities are being left to rot and are unusable. The staff didn't make you want to be there, they didn't show enthusiasm for their work place . Little information was provided at check in about what there was to do on the island. Such a shame because the place has so much potential to be an amazing place for a fun family get away.
Family Holiday ”
Great food and location. The resort needs alot of work and is no way a 4 star hotel. Im actually suprised that the Ramada would affiliate itself with such a poor quality resort.
Location is great but the resort is in dire need of a major upgrade. Most of the islands facilities are closed, the website is way out of date and they are very understaffed. The rooms are spacious but very dirty. Linen and towels were fresh but the rest was below standard. The aircondition units and ceiling fans had centimetres of dust on them and were probably mouldy as well. Around the rooms and on the balcony were lots of cobwebs, not very pleasant or inviting. Having said that the restaurant meals were good and the staff tried their best. We were with a group of friends and had a good time, however it was sad to see the resort so run down
