"Great hotel with convenient access to Oxford Circus for shop..."
August 8, 2018
Located right in the center of the renowned Soho in central London, this Old-England style luxury hotel combines its rich elegance with impeccable location. Right near the Royal Opera House and within walking distance from great shopping, the Courthouse offers excellent views and superb on-foot travel. The rooms, lobby, and reception are no exception to the location. With stunning post-modern and contemporary designs throughout, it’s hard to imagine you are standing in a historic landmark. Enjoy a glass of champagne in the bar or excellent cuisine at the Silk restaurant, whichever the case you’ll be dining in-style. With such beautifully appointed ambience and elegance, dining at the Courthouse will be something special. Also with one of the largest private cinemas in London, immaculate world-class rooms, and a wonderfully friendly reception, the Courthouse Hotel goes beyond its ideal location and takes the luxury hotel service to another level.

Show reviews that mention
If you are looking for value for money and location you can’t beat this hotel. Ticked all the boxes. Decent room size, comfy beds. Marvellous English Traditional Breakfast in a quaint tea room. Extremely happy with our stay.
We wanted a hotel near to the Palladium so that we wouldn’t have to walk too far after the show. This hotel was literally just around the corner. Didn’t book breakfast as it seemed expensive at £22 per person and there wasn’t a view from our room but the overall ambience was great.
Great location, attentive staff, reasonable rates”
No complaints, was upgraded to a nicer room than what I booked. Staff friendly and efficient. The rooms aren't big - but that's London for you. The location is superb at Oxford Circus station and Carnaby street close to restaurants, shops and shows.
Great Location, excellent Service”
Provide quality service. Oxford Circus metro station takes 5 mins walk. It is convenient to go anyway. Pubs and cafes around the hotel. You can find the food anywhere and even at midnight. No wifi in the room only in the hotel lobby.
great room, great location very comfortable. everything close by plenty of shopping and restaurants. the tube station was located within 500m of the hotel. the staff were excellent and very helpful at all times.the bar was ok and reasonably priced and i would thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel
Ideal location ”
Ideal location, we were going to a show at the London Palladium and it was perfect. Reception staff especially Bruna, very friendly, helpful and professional, Concierge staff too. Breakfast, served 7:30 -10:30 was a complete disappointment, we went down just before 10:00, no Hash Browns, no Bacon, no Eggs, no Bread. I pointed this out to a very sullen waitress, she was actually the only waitress at that point. She brought bread through and eventually another waitress brought bacon but the other dishes were never filled. At 10:40, 3 waitresses very quickly cleared everything away, I couldn't help but think if they filled the empty dishes with the same gusto they cleared everything away, breakfast would have been an enjoyable experience.
Completely disappointed ”
Where to start... Good first, the location. That’s it. Now for reality. Needs a complete refresh: paint peeling off the walls in my room, furitnure from the 1980’s, bed springs poking through, pillows haven’t been changed in years, dirty glasses in the cupboard, broken kettle lid, safely outlet cover in bathroom next to sink broken off, mini-fridge leaking water, and the cherry on top... The roof terrace is not part of the hotel. So guests don’t have priority so I was turned away by a ruch host and hostess because no reservation, but they only take reservation for parties of 8. I wouldn’t recommend until it’s refurbished.
Perfect location for the London Palladium ”
Checking in very easy - room lovely and clean - bathroom nice towels and dressing gown, could have done with more than 1 shower gel but did have our own so not a problem. A very good nice sleep in room 510 We did have breakfast but honestly not worth paying for, think we may have been better off getting something outside. Checking out no one on reception but concierge took our details and said our invoice would be sent - but still not arrived the following day. Shame as we had a great night sleep.
Room is very clean. Quite expensive as the location is very near to reataurants, underground and shopping area.
Prime location ”
I booked this hotel as my daughter & I had tickets to watch Britain’s got talent auditions the location was fantastic as the London palladium was around the corner and the bonus being all staff crew ,acts and judges where based here , the hotel was spotless , warm and felt very luxurious would definitely book again . Mandy & Emily from Devon
excellent hotel, but breakfast was not worth the money”
the location, rooms and swimming pool is all really good value for money. The employees in the breakfast department were a bit rude and the quality of the food was not good at all. We needed to clean the tables, arrange set up for 7 persons and bring coffee by ourselves. If we asked the staff for something they really made a point of their stress and breathed heavily++ I am really surprised over the breakfast department as the rest of the crew on Courthouse Hotel is really really friendly and polite. Instead of paying silly money for the breakfast add on, it is better to walk to the neighbour restaurant for a higher quality breakfast and friendly staff.
Haven of tranquility in the busy heart of London”
Such a surprise to find such a lovely hotel right in the heart of London, for not a totally ridiculous price. From the moment you walk in the door you get a feeling of calm and relaxation which is just what you need after a day in the city. The designers have enjoyed combining the history of the building as a court house with a sort of Zen tranquility, which is quirky but very pleasant. The rooms are very nice - even the lowest priced are spacious and light. There is a very nice bar, with side rooms that used to be the lock-up cells (complete with loo!), and the pool and spa downstairs, though small, are an added benefit. We had been given vouchers for the Champagne tea, and later the Champagne cinema evening, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed! I will definitely come back to this hotel in the future.
Could do better”
I have stayed here at least 8 times. The location, and the price at the right times, are very good. However this time there was distinct feeling of lack of interest from staff. From my in room internet not working, to reluctance to grant even a 1 hour late check out. To be fair the concierge who helped with theatre tickets was great, but as a whole...they could do better. I would not write it off. Very central. rooms fine, but nothing special
Central, Clean, Functional...some irritants”
The hotel is in a great location. Close to Oxford Circus, and the tube. On the edge of Soho. Great bars, restaurants, and shops all around. East walk to major attractions etc Rooms are clean and well appointed. There is a nice bar but I did not try the restaurant. This hotel now charges for internet. Annoying because it did not use to and many in London do not. Doubly annoying because it did not work in my room, although I must say when I complained they installed a router and it was fixed Most staff are very pleasant but one reception person was sour and surly which funnily enough really spoiled my stay
Great location, comfortable room, good value”
The hotel is superbly located just behind Oxford circus tube, across from Libertys and Carnaby Street and with M and S a 100 meters away Check in was quick and easy. The hotel is only medium sized, located in the old magistrates courts, so it feels a little homely and welcoming The room was a fair size by London standards, and well equipped. The bathroom was surprisingly roomy My room was at the back -away from the front street -which is wise as it was quiet, which is probably not true at the front The staff were friendly and the bar is unique as you can actually sit in cubicles that were once... the holding cells for criminals about to face the magistrate!
Fantastic Location and Staff”
We wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again. We arrived very early after a long flight and were able to check in shortly thereafter (thanks Alexander!). The staff were fantastic throughout our stay. Location is perfect for shopping, restaurants and walking to other areas (Knightsbridge, Kensington etc are an easy walk away). We'll be back the next time we're in London!
lovely hotel in a great area.”
great location in central london. ideally located for shopping, sight seeing , dining and nightlife. only a minutes walk to the underground and the bustling high streets of oxford and regent streets whilst also located on the outskirts of soho. the bar is unique in that it was a court house in the past and you can be served a night cap in a little prison cell for the ultimate intimate experience. will be back again.
Friendly reception upon arriving”
well mannered staff from reception to restaurant.clean and tidy room and very close to shopping areas.left my lighter when check out and they managed to keep it for me.a little pricey but hey its in a hotspot.strongly recommend!
Centrally located, small but comfortable rooms.”
The stay was comfortable.but there should be more wifi access. Nowadays its all about internet connections. It would not cost too much to build wifi into the room rates. Overall it was a good experierienve.
London Courthouse Hotel”
Overall, I rate the hotel very highly. We would definitely stay at the Courthouse again. As noted above, the location in London is a perfect location for shopping and shows - very close proximity to Regent and Oxford streets, and the Oxford Circus Underground station. From this station, one finds easy access to most of London as well as London's airports. The service was excellent and the hotel was quite nicely appointed - both lobby and guestrooms.
